Summary

In the lead-up to the federal election, I wanted to talk to you about the orgy of spending the Liberal government of Justin Trudeau has been on for the whole month of August. Last week, we talked about how the Liberals are trying to buy the election, but we only looked at their spending announcements over a few days, just last week. But when we look at the whole of August as a whole, we see just how bad the picture is.

00:00:00.000 in the lead-up to the federal election I wanted to talk to you about the orgy of
00:00:12.900 spending the Liberal government of Justin Trudeau has been on for the whole month of
00:00:17.040 August last week we talked about how the Liberals are trying to buy the election
00:00:23.340 but we only looked at their spending announcements over a few days just last
00:00:28.800 week but when we look at the month of August as a whole we see just how bad
00:00:34.740 the picture is first off I want to give credit to Global News' David Aiken for
00:00:40.300 tracking the various announcements of all different ministries and the PMO and
00:00:44.580 posting them to Twitter in the month of August the Prime Minister while making a
00:00:50.520 plethora of spending announcements himself dispatch cabinet ministers and
00:00:55.240 backbenchers hither and yon to blithely announce more federal money to be spent
00:00:59.980 for all manner of projects the bulk of the money to be spent is surprise in Quebec and
00:01:05.860 Ontario with the Maritimes in BC coming in behind those two vote-rich provinces
00:01:10.900 during August the Liberals shamelessly made 4,545 new spending announcements
00:01:17.560 worth a total of twelve point eight billion dollars that's billion with a B
00:01:22.240 this is on top of a budget introduced in the spring running a deficit of more
00:01:27.040 than 22 billion this profligate spending is unprecedented in Canadian
00:01:32.620 political history one can only assume the brain trust of the Liberal Party such
00:01:39.040 as it is has decided they haven't much of a record to run on so let's promise the
00:01:44.320 moon and hope the voters are too stupid to realize what they are doing and really
00:01:49.240 what is their record well they legalized marijuana anything else well they
00:01:54.160 imposed a carbon tax they imposed a job-killing payroll tax they eliminated
00:01:58.360 the child's tax child tax credit which hurts middle-class families and single
00:02:02.360 parents the most they cut tuition and book credits they cut the deductions for
00:02:07.540 child's arts and sports tax credits and eliminated the transit deduction which
00:02:12.220 affects those at the lowest end of the income spectrum the most who rely on public
00:02:17.000 transit to be fair in January they announced the creation of a management
00:02:21.680 advisory board to work with the RCMP to move the organization forward and work
00:02:26.360 towards eliminating the bullying and harassment in the force which has been
00:02:30.260 systemic and cultural and has cost many millions of taxpayers dollars to settle a
00:02:35.240 variety of lawsuits launched by current and former serving members then in the
00:02:40.740 early summer they announced who would comprise the board and surprise surprise
00:02:45.140 they appointed a career bureaucrat to be the chairman the rest of the board
00:02:50.360 consists a variety of academics lawyers a former chief of a tribal police force
00:02:55.220 and Wally Opal the former BC Supreme Court justice who also served as BC's
00:03:00.680 Attorney General Opal as an aside is also serving as an advisor to the
00:03:06.200 municipality of Surrey for their transition away from the RCMP to a newly
00:03:10.500 municipal police force so on the one hand he is advising the RCMP on how to be
00:03:15.720 better and on the other he is advising Surrey on how to get rid of the RCMP the
00:03:21.000 mind boggles not the best record to run on and that's before we talk about their
00:03:25.980 foreign policy failures by any measuring stick the government of Justin Trudeau has
00:03:31.620 been awful for average Canadians so what else to do before the dropping of an
00:03:36.720 election writ spend spend spend for true north I'm Leo Knight unlike many in the
00:03:44.460 mainstream media and the CBC we don't get government grants we rely entirely on
