Summary

The federal government must think we are all absolute morons. When it comes to the crisis of illegal border crossers seeking asylum in Canada, absolutely nothing is getting done about it. This is after Justin Trudeau appointed a Minister of Border Security in Bill Blair, despite the fact that he didn t really have a job for the longest time, and even now it s not quite clear what he s doing.

00:00:05.140 When it comes to the crisis of illegal border crossers seeking asylum in Canada,
00:00:10.020 absolutely nothing is getting done about it.
00:00:13.140 Now this is after Justin Trudeau saying,
00:00:15.360 oh it's a serious issue that he takes very seriously,
00:00:18.300 eminently serious in fact, because he's such a serious politician.
00:00:22.340 This is after appointing a Minister of Border Security in Bill Blair,
00:00:26.680 despite the fact that he didn't really have a job for the longest time,
00:00:30.520 and even now it's not quite clear what he's doing.
00:00:33.160 And despite the fact that the government has said,
00:00:35.060 oh it's pouring all these resources and doing all of this work
00:00:38.640 to make sure that Canadians are looked after
00:00:41.280 and that the borders remain full of integrity and secure.
00:00:46.080 All of that notwithstanding, we have new numbers that show
00:00:49.460 we have actually allowed more illegal border crossers into the country this year
00:00:53.880 than we did by the same point last year.
00:00:57.560 We're looking at just shy of $1,800 a month,
00:01:00.360 which is actually an increase over last year, 2017,
00:01:03.560 which was one of the worst on record.
00:01:05.900 It was the year in which this crisis actually became a crisis in many respects.
00:01:11.460 So all of the other issues that we have connected to this,

00:01:16.660 such as an inability or an unwillingness for the government to actually deport people,
00:01:20.800 they've only deported a tiny fraction of those who have been declared inadmissible.

00:01:28.860 if your claim is going to be approved or denied,
00:01:31.800 and in that time, the cost to the taxpayers.
00:01:34.540 There are the security concerns of people that are being improperly vetted

00:01:42.300 and then actually entertained as serious refugees later on.
00:01:45.700 And all of this that the government has turned a blind eye to.
00:01:50.020 And the reason Canadians should be so outraged about this

00:02:29.280 and we're not actually stopping the entry into Canada

00:02:41.200 which is the influx of people into Canada in the first place?

00:02:54.240 such as dealing with the wait time to hear the asylum claims,
