00:00:00.000 His own parliamentary budget officer said that in the four provinces where the rebates exist,
00:00:06.420 60% of people pay more in carbon tax costs than they get back in rebates.
00:00:11.960 And in six provinces out of ten, they don't get any rebate at all,
00:00:15.620 even though the federal government will force those provinces to triple the tax
00:00:19.900 after a vote by the costly coalition of the NDP and Liberals.
00:00:24.000 How much will Eastern Canadian rural families be forced to pay in higher taxes on their home heating
00:00:31.920 when this Prime Minister triples the carbon tax?
00:00:34.880 The Right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:00:38.660 I know what Eastern Canadians are seeing right now, what they told me.
00:00:42.180 They told me they're worried for the fact that there are going to be more intense storms in the coming years,
00:00:47.220 that their kids and their grandkids are going to face a world in which extreme weather events are increasingly frequent,
00:00:53.240 which will threaten not just their communities, not just their way of life, but their very future.
00:00:58.260 The fact is, we need to continue to step up in the fight against climate change,
00:01:02.360 something Conservative politicians don't seem to understand.
00:01:05.580 And the model that we have of putting a price on pollution returns more money every year to families who need it.
00:01:13.900 That's the model we have. That's how we're helping Canadians as we fight climate change.
00:01:17.620 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:01:20.740 It isn't working.
00:01:22.200 He hasn't hit a single solitary climate target since he brought in this tax.
00:01:29.180 According to the Liberal Premier of Newfoundland,
00:01:33.080 rural families will have seen an 80% increase in their home heating costs when the carbon tax kicks in there.
00:01:39.260 40% of Atlantic Canadians live in energy poverty.
00:01:42.640 The Prime Minister can insult these people and call them polluters while he jets around in his private jet.
00:01:49.220 Or he can recognize that heating your home in January in rural Newfoundland is a basic necessity.
00:01:55.860 How much will he impose in extra costs on those families when he trickles?
00:01:59.520 Mr. Speaker, all Canadians want to see a better future for their kids and for their grandkids.
00:02:10.680 That only happens if we continue to not just fight against climate change but invest in the jobs and the transformation of our economies that are going to be needed to ensure good careers for them, good opportunities for those communities and families.
00:02:27.260 That's what our plan to fight climate change does.
00:02:29.840 The Conservative Party chooses to deny climate change exists and refuses to put forward a plan to fight climate change.
00:02:36.840 That's not what Atlantic Canadians, or indeed any Canadians, need. 1.00
00:02:41.720 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:02:44.060 The Prime Minister does not have a climate plan.
00:02:45.800 He has a tax plan.
00:02:47.160 His climate promises have failed every single year.
00:02:51.180 And now, with his tax hike on farmers, I asked him how much that farm family would have to pay.
00:02:55.900 He didn't have an answer.
00:02:57.200 Well, here's the answer.
00:02:58.960 That family will pay more, which means more of the food production will be sent other ways to other countries, 0.75
00:03:05.100 where they have lower environmental standards.
00:03:07.660 That food will then have to be shipped, trained and trucked back to Canada at higher pollution.
00:03:13.820 And we will be more dependent on foreign farmers.
00:03:17.260 Why is it that this Prime Minister wants to drive pollution up, farm production out and jobs down?
00:03:23.900 The Right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:03:28.420 I could just as well ask why the Leader of the Opposition wants to make pollution free again.
00:03:32.800 The reality is, Mr. Speaker, that farm families, like all families across the country,
00:03:37.540 are worried about their kids and their kids' future.
00:03:40.220 They're worried about the land that sustains us and this extraordinary country that provides us all so much.
00:03:46.560 That's why we need to be better stewards of the land altogether,
00:03:50.640 which is why we're moving forward with a strong plan to fight climate change
00:03:55.000 that includes supports for farm families, supports for agricultural industry,
00:03:59.960 as we reduce our reliance on fossil fuels,
00:04:03.080 as we create good jobs and a good future for all Canadians.
00:04:06.420 as we take a look at our power population,
00:04:15.940 we have a company in two ways to advance our products
00:04:23.660 and Lab Ν与 are now still one house.
00:04:26.940 So as the bartender said,
00:04:28.620 we're going straight ahead.
00:04:30.020 Now that's how it worked.
00:04:32.660 At 10, the abandoned call,
