00:00:00.000 Welcome, everyone, to Ratioed. My name is Harrison Faulkner. Well, another week in the books and
00:00:12.500 another stacked lineup of content to get into this week on the show. We start off with Pierre
00:00:17.140 Polyev, who exploded liberal heads this week after releasing his latest campaign video. Then we move
00:00:22.020 on to a viral clip of a Nigerian official who might have just given liberal cabinet ministers
00:00:26.740 a new strategy at committee meetings. Then we move on to a very brave NDP MP who gave her staff,
00:00:32.760 and most importantly herself, the day off on Monday in solidarity with American people who
00:00:37.400 are pregnant. And finally, as always, we wrap up the show this week with the Ratio of the Week Award,
00:00:42.100 and it's going to Canada's commander in cringe, Mr. Jagmeet Singh. Before we get into it, I just
00:00:46.760 quickly want to say thank you to all of you for your support of the show over the last few weeks.
00:00:50.460 I really appreciate it, and I know that True North does as well. Now, because the left is constantly
00:00:54.320 giving us ammunition for the show and constantly giving us great content to laugh at, to mock,
00:00:59.240 and make fun of, we lose a lot of it by Thursday as the news cycle turns over. So if you want to
00:01:03.480 see Ratioed more than once a week, if you want to see Ratioed twice a week, make sure to like this
00:01:07.280 video. Like this video to send a message to the True North bosses that you want to see more Ratioed.
00:01:11.300 All right, thanks again, guys, and let's get into it. Well, folks, he did it again. Pierre Polyev
00:01:15.020 sent the left into a total frenzy this week over his latest campaign video. Now, if you've been on
00:01:20.900 social media over the past few days, you've likely seen it. In the video, Polyev talks about
00:01:24.980 Barnboard and how it passes through different hands, serves different purposes, and it grows
00:01:29.220 more beautiful over time, and it takes on a story of its own. He uses the Barnboard theme as an allegory
00:01:34.320 for one of his key campaign themes, which is reclaiming Canada, reclaiming our freedoms as a
00:01:39.000 country, and reclaiming what was already ours. So, of course, as you can imagine, the left loses their
00:01:43.800 minds over this video. They totally lose it. They freak out. Now, you'd have a pretty tough job trying to
00:01:48.280 convince me that that's not one of the goals of the Polyev campaign when they put out videos like
00:01:51.780 this, that they're not trying to work up the left to get them talking about Pierre, to get them talking
00:01:56.080 about the campaign. Of course they are, and it just works every single time. The left falls for it every
00:02:00.620 single time. This video has over 700,000 views. There's not a candidate in the race that can come
00:02:05.940 close to that. So, of course, that's one of the strategies. The left, of course, doesn't see that.
00:02:09.860 They just get worked up, and that's just how it goes every single time. They always fall for it.
00:02:14.420 Now, before we get into some of the reactions, let's watch some of the best parts of this video.
00:02:18.280 And what I'm doing, and what all of us do when we bring these boards into our house, is we are
00:02:24.560 reclaiming something that was already there. And just at that moment, you can hear the explosions.
00:02:37.000 That's what my campaign is about. It's not about inventing some brand new utopia out of scratch.
00:02:43.020 It's about reclaiming the freedom that is our natural right. They can tear down all our statues
00:02:51.300 and ban all kinds of words and books. Then they can make us forget how we got here and take us to a
00:02:58.440 place we've never been. A utopia, ironically, is a Greek word for no place.
00:03:04.580 So, there you have it, guys. A very well-crafted, well-done video. A message from Pierre Polyev's
00:03:09.580 campaign, which clearly articulates a central theme of his campaign. Nothing freaks the left out more
00:03:14.620 than to see a conservative winning on social media. And that's frankly what Pierre Polyev's campaign
00:03:18.720 is doing right now. You see, for the left, social media used to be their space. That's where they
00:03:23.260 used to dominate. And they don't want to see conservatives winning on social media. That's what
00:03:27.860 really gets to them. That's what freaks them out the most. What you saw there was a well-crafted campaign
00:03:32.500 video. What the left saw was white nationalist dog whistle politics. That's right. Let's just
00:03:38.280 look at some of these hilarious reactions to this video. This person writes, no matter how you slice
00:03:43.200 it, this video is filled with the same dog whistles that Aaron O'Toole's Take Back Canada had. And if
00:03:48.260 you don't think so, you're exactly the person Pierre is whistling. So, yes, this person thinks that
00:03:52.960 Pierre Polyev is trying to employ the same strategy as Aaron O'Toole because that worked out so well
00:03:57.660 the last time, didn't it? Here's another great quote tweet from a very triggered leftist
00:04:02.480 This is nothing more than thinly veiled white supremacist messaging that reifies old stock
00:04:07.240 and purist narratives. Yes, of course, because using Barnboard as an allegory for one of your
00:04:11.580 key campaign messages is of course white nationalist. If you talk about anything that has to do with
00:04:16.760 Canada before Justin Trudeau, then you must be hearkening back to the days of white nationalist
00:04:21.660 Canada. Come on. This kind of rhetoric promotes hate and racism. That his numbers are growing
00:04:26.520 tells us a lot about the rise of replacement anxiety in Canada, and it's disgusting.
00:04:30.540 So this seems to be the new strategy, guys, for the left. If you are a popular conservative and you are
00:04:35.680 winning over support of voters from across the country, traditional voting blocs of liberals or
00:04:41.020 the NDP, working class Canadians, then you mustn't be a good politician. You mustn't have good messaging. 1.00
00:04:46.640 What you must be is a white nationalist. What you must be is a racist who's using dog whistle 0.99
00:04:51.100 politics. That is the new strategy of the left. Whenever they're confronted with someone who's 0.88
00:04:55.060 experiencing real success in this country, political success, that's their first go-to. That's
00:04:59.800 probably their only go-to as well, that you must be a white nationalist. And of course, we have this
00:05:04.380 great quote to wrap it all up for us coming from a UFT med school faculty member, of course. He writes,
00:05:13.640 What's missed in this at Pierre Pauliev metaphor of using wood in a barn to talk about reclaiming what
00:05:18.680 was already there is that this wood isn't a right bestowed on him. It's stolen from indigenous people 1.00
00:05:24.120 through violence. Say that part. Oh my god, yes, of course. How could Pierre have forgotten? The wood
00:05:30.300 is stolen from the indigenous people. The barn board is stolen from the indigenous people through 1.00
00:05:34.240 violence. Because as we all know, every single tree in Canada is a property of the indigenous people. 1.00
00:05:38.820 How could Pierre Pauliev be so short-sighted? All right, so moving on, I found a video posted
00:05:44.040 this week to Twitter by an account called Africa in Focus. And this video has over 20 million views.
00:05:49.660 It has over 30,000 quote tweets. So clearly, it struck a chord with people around the world.
00:05:54.340 And basically, what's going on here is a Nigerian government official was hauled in front of a
00:05:58.600 Nigerian government committee, a Nigerian Emergencies Act committee, if you will. And he's being
00:06:04.240 grilled for corruption allegations. And when the going gets pretty tough, when he starts to feel a lot of
00:06:08.560 heat, instead of answering the questions, he just fake feints. He pretends to faint at the table
00:06:13.120 and collapse. And while I was watching this, I thought to myself, hey, wait a minute, that's a
00:06:17.560 perfect strategy for the Liberal cabinet. For Chrystia Freeland, for Bill Blair, for Marco
00:06:22.720 Manicino and David Lamedi, in front of the Emergencies Act committee, instead of answering
00:06:26.160 questions about whether or not the government had any real requests from the police, instead of asking
00:06:31.220 questions about who requested the government to invoke the Emergencies Act, just give up at the table.
00:06:36.000 Just pretend to faint at the table. That's a perfect strategy. I'm sure it'll get the press
00:06:40.380 and the conservatives off their tails. So just watch this hilarious video.
00:06:44.220 Are you aware that every expenditure you make from 31st May till date are not...
00:06:53.760 His eyes are open there. You can see he's waiting for like, oh, are you going to stop asking me this
00:06:58.640 question now? This is a really uncomfortable question. Almost like if the government relied on
00:07:02.420 a CBC article to invoke the Emergencies Act, or if the RCMP or any other law enforcement asked the
00:07:08.420 government to invoke the Emergencies Act. Kind of like that.
00:07:10.420 You can hear some people in the background laughing, which is hilarious. And then they start to do some very weird CPR there.
00:07:17.420 You can hear some people in the background laughing, which is hilarious. And then they start to do some very weird CPR there.
00:07:38.220 And then you can see he puts his, he puts his hands up. You're like, okay, I'm done. It's obvious I'm just acting.
00:07:44.220 So of course, if this were to be put into play, this is what that might look like in Canada.
00:07:48.220 Just answer the question, Minister Freeland. Were you aware? Yes or no? It's a simple question.
00:07:54.220 Every expenditure you make.
00:07:57.220 The most senior cabinet minister is not prepared to accept whether or not the CBC retracted a false story?
00:08:05.220 You as the most senior cabinet minister and the deputy prime minister relied upon that initial story from the CBC
00:08:18.220 and shared your concerns with Canadians regarding terrorism funding and money laundering. Your words, correct?
00:08:26.220 several times in the house referred to terrorism funding and money laundering. Are you saying you didn't use those words?
00:08:44.220 I'm speaking here today.
00:08:56.220 So the comments on this video are hilarious. And most of it is around the world.
00:08:59.220 People talking about their government leaders using this strategy to avoid scrutiny.
00:09:03.220 And it just works for Canada's situation perfectly.
00:09:05.220 But a former UK cabinet minister in Boris Johnson's government, a former defense minister in the UK, Johnny Mercer,
00:09:12.220 he wrote, brilliant, often thought about doing this when asked a tricky question.
00:09:16.220 Never actually done it. Yet.
00:09:17.220 Which is just so perfect, because at least he can admit it.
00:09:20.220 At least he would admit that, you know, maybe if the going gets pretty tough, if the questions get a little too hot,
00:09:25.220 maybe you just break out this strategy. It seems to be pretty effective.
00:09:28.220 Can't you just see Marco Manicino doing this in a committee meeting?
00:09:31.220 I mean, it'll happen. Just give it time.
00:09:32.220 All right, everyone, moving on.
00:09:34.220 We now turn our focus to the NDP and they really make it easy for us on this show.
00:09:39.220 They are always giving us stuff to laugh at.
00:09:42.220 This week, of course, is no different.
00:09:43.220 We start with MP Rachel Blaney, a BC MP.
00:09:48.220 She's actually the chief whip of the NDP.
00:09:50.220 So this woman is basically in charge of motivating the NDP to vote in favor of every single liberal bill.
00:09:55.220 That gets put in front of them.
00:09:56.220 Anyway, Rachel Blaney over the weekend, as the weekend began to wind to a close,
00:10:01.220 as the realization of having to go back to work on Monday became more a reality,
00:10:05.220 Rachel Blaney came up with a brilliant idea, a way to give herself, most importantly,
00:10:10.220 and her staff an extra day of vacation.
00:10:12.220 What she was going to do was close down her offices in solidarity with the United States,
00:10:16.220 in solidarity with, as she writes, pregnant people, people who are pregnant.
00:10:20.220 So a Canadian MP was going to shut down her office on Monday, July 4th, 1.00
00:10:24.220 in solidarity with American people who are pregnant.
00:10:29.220 In the tweet, she writes,
00:10:30.220 I have instructed my staff to close offices on July 4th,
00:10:33.220 in solidarity with women in the USA and the world in support of reproductive freedoms
00:10:37.220 and in protest of the lack of access to abortion services.
00:10:40.220 So a Canadian MP is shutting down her office in support of the lack of worldwide access to abortions
00:10:47.220 and in the United States.
00:10:49.220 What a brilliant excuse to get an extra day off.
00:10:52.220 Healthcare must include the right to choose.
00:10:54.220 People who are pregnant need to be safe.
00:10:56.220 So weird, she says women at the beginning,
00:10:58.220 and then instead of putting women at the end, she writes people who are pregnant.
00:11:01.220 So which is it, Rachel?
00:11:02.220 Is it women? 1.00
00:11:03.220 Or is it people who are pregnant because of those men that we know get pregnant as well?
00:11:07.220 We wouldn't want them to lose access to abortion services as well, right? 0.77
00:11:10.220 That'd be terrible.
00:11:11.220 Now, after seeing this tweet, reading it, and getting my laughter out,
00:11:14.220 and having time to internalize it, I came to a realization, everyone.
00:11:16.220 I came to a realization as to how the NDP actually keeps staff on their team.
00:11:20.220 Because I can imagine it's probably a pretty depressing place to be these days.
00:11:23.220 Not a lot of people showing them love.
00:11:25.220 Not a lot of people showing them support.
00:11:27.220 I mean, they're getting heckled out of their own towns like their leader is.
00:11:30.220 It's because they have bosses like Rachel Blaney sticking up for her workers, 1.00
00:11:35.220 finding new ways, working hard to find new ways to give them extra weekends,
00:11:39.220 to give them extra time off.
00:11:41.220 That is what standing up for workers really looks like, eh?
00:11:43.220 Now, if only I could join Rachel's staff and get Monday off as well,
00:11:46.220 I would have been right there with you guys,
00:11:48.220 protesting for U.S. abortion rights in Canada.
00:11:51.220 Great stuff.
00:11:52.220 It's so perfect because she wrote the tweet on Sunday,
00:11:54.220 the day before her and her staff were supposed to go back to work.
00:11:57.220 So, she just decided, you know what, this weekend is really nice.
00:12:00.220 I kind of want to kick it for another day.
00:12:02.220 Let's take Monday off, and let's use American abortion access as a reason to do it. 1.00
00:12:07.220 I mean, that's pretty creative, don't you think?
00:12:09.220 Now, this tweet got brutally ratioed on Twitter,
00:12:11.220 and it was a close contender for the award this week.
00:12:13.220 I've got to tell you, it was very close.
00:12:15.220 Rachel Blaney got a thousand comments to her 150 likes.
00:12:18.220 Pretty tough ratio there, I've got to say.
00:12:20.220 And some of these comments are hilarious.
00:12:22.220 Truno Suann Levy, who is always great on Twitter, commented, 1.00
00:12:26.220 Good excuse to take more time off, you must think we're stupid. 0.99
00:12:29.220 This person comes in and goes, 0.99
00:12:31.220 Oh, I see, you want a four-day weekend, just say that then.
00:12:34.220 And this person comments,
00:12:35.220 And their salaries for the day are going to which charity?
00:12:38.220 So perfect.
00:12:39.220 Yes, the taxpayer-funded salary of Rachel Blaney,
00:12:42.220 and the taxpayer-funded salary of her staff,
00:12:44.220 they wanted to take that time to protest American abortion access.
00:12:48.220 Not to work for Canadians, not to serve Rachel's constituency, of course.
00:12:52.220 American abortion issues are far more important than the day-to-day issues of Rachel Blaney's constituents. 0.90
00:12:57.220 Anyway, Rachel, lucky for you, 1.00
00:12:59.220 if it wasn't for the stupidity of your boss, Jagmeet Singh, 1.00
00:13:02.220 you would be taking home the Ratio of the Week award. 1.00
00:13:04.220 But no, as we said at the beginning,
00:13:06.220 this week it goes to Canada's commander in cringe, Jagmeet Singh.
00:13:10.220 On July 4th, the day that Rachel Blaney and her staff took the day to protest American abortion rights, 0.70
00:13:16.220 Jagmeet Singh walked into an extremely bad ratio.
00:13:21.220 A ratio worthy of great recognition, which is what he received on the show this week.
00:13:25.220 Jagmeet Singh wrote on Twitter on the 4th of July,
00:13:28.220 While the price of goods grow at alarming rates, wages have only increased by 3.9%.
00:13:32.220 The Liberal government has failed to support everyday Canadians with immediate action,
00:13:36.220 yet it continues to help billionaires get even richer as they avoid paying their taxes.
00:13:40.220 It's shameful.
00:13:41.220 Did you catch that?
00:13:42.220 Jagmeet Singh criticizing the Liberal government, calling the Liberal government shameful?
00:13:47.220 It's all my fault! 0.96
00:13:49.220 I mean, yeah, you don't need me to explain how ridiculous that is. 0.87
00:13:53.220 It's Jagmeet Singh who's propping up the Liberal government. 0.84
00:13:55.220 It's him who is basically in control.
00:13:57.220 He could drop his support of the Liberal government today,
00:14:00.220 force the Liberal government into an election,
00:14:03.220 and as he says, help control the price of goods.
00:14:05.220 Stop letting billionaires get richer while all of us get poorer.
00:14:08.220 He could do it all today.
00:14:10.220 He could do it all right now.
00:14:11.220 But of course, he doesn't want to do that.
00:14:12.220 He doesn't have the ability to do that.
00:14:14.220 And he knows that if he does do that, he'll never win again.
00:14:16.220 So what he's doing here really is trying to convince every Canadian that he's doing his part for the worker.
00:14:21.220 He's doing his part to stand up against the Liberal government and to stand up for working class Canadians. 0.98
00:14:26.220 But in reality, he's more of a loser than a leader. 0.92
00:14:28.220 The furthest thing from a political leader for the people. 0.94
00:14:31.220 He's too afraid to lose his power, too afraid to lose his seat. 1.00
00:14:34.220 And he's going to do that by quietly propping up the Liberal government and hoping we're all too stupid to notice. 0.98
00:14:38.220 Well, Jagmeet, you got 3000 comments to 768 likes. 0.97
00:14:44.220 3000 comments to 768 likes.
00:14:47.220 That is worthy of the award every single week.
00:14:50.220 Let's just go through some of these great responses.
00:14:53.220 This one just hits the nail on the head.
00:14:56.220 This guy thinks we don't know.
00:14:58.220 Here's another great comment.
00:14:59.220 Hmm.
00:15:00.220 Just wish there was something you can do.
00:15:02.220 Can't put my finger on it.
00:15:03.220 Oh, I know.
00:15:04.220 It's called the non-confidence vote.
00:15:05.220 You can single handedly bring them down, but you won't because you need February 2025 for your golden pension.
00:15:11.220 And you talk about others greed.
00:15:12.220 And to wrap it up, we have a great comment here.
00:15:14.220 Reading tweets about you bashing the Liberals while you formed a coalition with them and work alongside them every day is the most bizarre moment in politics yet.
00:15:22.220 This will go down in Canadian history as just a very bizarre time.
00:15:27.220 That's a perfect way to put it.
00:15:28.220 It's very bizarre.
00:15:29.220 What does it mean if the leader of the NDP admits that he is propping up a shameful government, as he calls it?
00:15:36.220 He is the one propping up this so-called shameful government.
00:15:38.220 What does that mean for the NDP?
00:15:40.220 Well, we will let you decide what that means for the NDP.
00:15:43.220 But for Jagmeet Singh, he is this week's winner of the Ratio of the Week Award.
00:15:47.220 All right, that's going to do it for us this week.
00:15:49.220 Thank you so much for watching.
00:15:50.220 My name is Harrison Faulkner, and this is Ratio.
00:15:52.220 And this is Ratio.
