00:00:00.000 Welcome everyone to Ratioed. My name is Harrison Faulkner and happy one-year anniversary to all
00:00:13.040 my small fringe minority friends, my unacceptable view-holding, tinfoil hat-wearing fellow Canadians.
00:00:19.200 Twelve months ago, Canadian truckers relit the flame of freedom, liberty, and patriotism
00:00:24.280 back into the culture of this country. After two and a half years of authoritarian mandates,
00:00:29.360 it's tyrannical lockdowns and division coming from all levels of government in this country.
00:00:34.440 And to celebrate the occasion, Canadians gathered across the country for Freedom Convoy reunions.
00:00:39.720 But you know who wasn't so happy to see a bunch of freedom-loving Canadians getting together again?
00:00:44.060 Well, the Liberal Legacy Media and dear leader Justin Trudeau, of course.
00:00:47.900 Stick around as we have the highlights from weekend gatherings across the country,
00:00:51.720 hilarious legacy media coverage of the Freedom Convoy reunion, and of course,
00:00:56.140 it wouldn't be a Ratioed episode without comments straight from the mouth of dear leader.
00:01:00.560 Drop a like in the video, help us out by subscribing to the True North YouTube channel,
00:01:03.560 and the comment question for the episode is this. Let me know in the comments what your
00:01:07.500 favorite Freedom Convoy moment or memory was from just last year. All right, let me know and let's
00:01:12.680 get into it. So these were the scenes over the weekend outside Parliament Hill in Ottawa,
00:01:16.560 as Canadians gathered to celebrate the one-year anniversary of what was likely the largest and
00:01:21.800 most peaceful protest in the history of this country. Now, similar scenes took place across
00:01:27.220 the country. This was the scene as truckers rolled back into Cootes, Alberta for their own
00:01:32.740 convoy reunion. Now, this was the scene just outside Toronto in the GTA as well over the weekend.
00:01:38.500 A slow roll protest took place in North Bay, Ontario over the weekend as well. There were even
00:01:43.420 protesters out in Kelowna, British Columbia, marking the one-year anniversary. Now, as you could
00:01:48.080 have guessed, not everyone in Ottawa was so thrilled with the sight of a bunch of peace-loving,
00:01:52.260 freedom-loving, patriotic Canadians. After all, as we know from Legacy Media Reports,
00:01:56.980 just the sight of the Canadian flag alone is enough to trigger the Ottawa residents. It's enough to give
00:02:02.640 them nightmares of the nasty days of peace-loving Canadians shouting freedom and demanding to have
00:02:08.600 their lives back. I mean, what could possibly be worse for these Ottawa residents than to see what
00:02:13.240 is likely a large group of unvaccinated Canadians waving Canadian flags singing O'Canada? Oh, the
00:02:19.580 horror. All of that patriotism, all of that joy, all of that love of country was just too much to handle
00:02:25.220 for one Ottawa resident, one Ottawa resident who is now being labeled as a counter-protester
00:02:30.200 because, well, I'm not even going to bother describing it. Just take a look at this clip.
00:02:34.920 Those divisions were on display. A counter-protester clashed with a member of the Freedom Convoy.
00:02:43.120 That's right. Take a look at this again. This Ottawa counter-protester goes on what I can only
00:02:48.420 describe as a megaphone rampage, swinging her megaphone at the faces of a bunch of peace-loving
00:02:54.800 Canadians. I think, guys, the phantom honking was just too much for her. The phantom honking in her brain,
00:03:00.560 the loud noise of those nasty trucker horns was just too much to handle for this Ottawa counter-protester.
00:03:08.820 She just had to take matters into her own hands, right? Now, to be fair, it could have been a lot worse
00:03:13.160 for Ottawa residents. From the media coverage I can see, both from legacy media and from even True
00:03:18.280 North cameras, True North's Ellie Canton Nantel was on the ground to cover the reunion. I did not see any
00:03:24.500 hot tubs or bouncy castles. So, you know, as we all know, Ottawa residents, they can't handle the flag.
00:03:29.380 They can't handle the national anthem. And really, they can't handle the sight of a bunch of happy,
00:03:34.160 peaceful, flag-waving Canadians. But at least they didn't have to set their gaze upon a hot tub,
00:03:40.500 upon a bouncy castle. Because from what we know, that was the straw that broke the camel's back,
00:03:45.960 right? It was all fun and games until Justin Trudeau saw the bouncy castle come out. Then it was time
00:03:51.120 to bring in the horses. Then it was time to invoke wartime-like measures on a peaceful protest.
00:03:55.900 So, no bouncy castle at the bouncy castle rebellion reunion. Kind of disappointing for me,
00:04:01.200 but you know what? Beggars can't be choosers, right? I'm just happy to see a bunch of Canadians
00:04:04.960 with a smile on their face, waving our flag. But you know who isn't so happy about that?
00:04:09.800 CTV News Ottawa. You have to check out this hilarious news broadcast clip over the weekend.
00:04:15.520 Good evening, as Ottawa marks the grim anniversary of the occupation of the nation's capital,
00:04:19.680 protesters holding their spot on Parliament Hill for a second day today, a reunion to mark the
00:04:25.040 occasion. CTV's Natalie Van Roy is back from the Hill and joins us live tonight. Natalie.
00:04:29.760 Well, Jeremy, the small group stayed put on the Hill all Saturday and into Sunday. Ottawa police say at
00:04:35.960 one point a small convoy entered Ottawa, but was quickly redirected out of the city.
00:04:41.840 Good evening. Ottawa marks the grim, scary anniversary of the Freedom Convoy when a bunch of Canadians
00:04:48.140 showed up in their own capital, waving our own national flags, seeing our own national anthem,
00:04:52.860 feeding the homeless and cleaning up after themselves. It was a very scary time indeed.
00:04:57.480 I mean, the legacy media really can't help themselves, right? They'll never be able to
00:05:00.420 stop trying to paint the Freedom Convoy as some sort of insurrection, some sort of
00:05:04.100 occupation or January 6th inspired event. They'll never be able to stop doing that. But if I'm going
00:05:09.460 to give them anything, one thing I will say is that this time at least they interviewed the people
00:05:13.340 on the ground. Because during the Freedom Convoy, as you'll remember, the legacy media didn't do that.
00:05:17.720 They had no interest in interviewing the people. All they had interest in doing was trying to make
00:05:22.420 the protesters look as bad as possible, to find the one bad apple in the Freedom Convoy and use that
00:05:28.800 to cover the entire group. Now, Justin Trudeau was asked by liberal legacy media reporters about the
00:05:34.760 one-year reunion of the Freedom Convoy. And look at how he answers this question. This is the same guy
00:05:40.120 that invoked the Emergencies Act, wartime-like measures on a peaceful protest. This is the guy that
00:05:46.360 ordered the horses in on the protesters. The guy that sent in the cops to pepper spray and beat
00:05:52.000 protesters in the nation's capital. He is now saying that people who are struggling in this
00:05:57.120 country, who are going to be at these reunion protests, are lashing out.
00:06:02.000 I understand that there are lots of Canadians who are hurting and they will continue to lash out and
00:06:07.180 be frustrated. They have, of course, every right to express themselves, to protest. It's an important
00:06:13.520 part of our democracy that we'll always defend. At the same time, I think leaders have a choice.
00:06:19.120 What is responsible leadership? Well, I think responsible leadership is acknowledging the
00:06:23.840 concerns and anger that people are feeling and look to solve for it, look to provide solutions,
00:06:29.360 look to reassure people, not to amplify that anger.
00:06:31.980 That's right. So Justin Trudeau thinks that the protesters hugging each other, singing our national
00:06:36.420 anthem and waving our national flag are lashing out. But the great freedom-loving leader,
00:06:41.240 the architect of liberty, Justin Trudeau, says Canadians have every right to protest the government,
00:06:47.240 except when he said during the Emergencies Act inquiry that protesting for changes in government
00:06:52.960 policy, well, that's not allowed. Yeah, I think we have a robust functioning democracy and
00:07:02.200 protests, public protests are an important part of making sure we're getting messages out there and
00:07:08.760 Canadians are getting messages out there and highlighting how they feel about various issues.
00:07:12.900 But using protests to demand changes to public policy is something that I think is worrisome.
00:07:24.440 I think I've got it now. You have every right to protest, but just not for political change.
00:07:29.140 You can yell until your voice gives out, but don't you possibly expect political change to come when
00:07:34.600 you protest? That only takes place in free countries, not Canada. Now, just to rub salt in the wound for
00:07:39.820 Justin Trudeau and his liberal government, former Democratic presidential candidate and Congresswoman
00:07:44.820 from Hawaii, Tulsi Gabbard, absolutely torched Justin Trudeau on her podcast over the weekend.
00:07:51.500 You've got to check out this clip.
00:07:52.740 Now, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Canada has yet again very recently shown just how anti-freedom and
00:07:59.660 anti-democracy he actually is. But using protests to demand changes to public policy is something that
00:08:11.640 I think is worrisome. Okay. So here we have the Prime Minister of Canada saying that, yes,
00:08:18.760 we have a highly functioning democracy and people's voices, the Canadian people's voices should be heard
00:08:24.200 and they have the right and freedom to protest. However, if those protests are used to demand
00:08:29.620 change in government policy, then no, that shouldn't be allowed. Just in that statement in
00:08:36.200 and of itself, you got to wonder how this guy doesn't see the hypocrisy in his singular phrase.
00:08:43.560 The freedom of speech is welcome. Just don't use it to demand change in your own government. Why else
00:08:48.300 would anyone go out and protest? If you are happy with everything that's going on,
00:08:52.900 that your government is doing everything just right, why would you go out on the streets and
00:08:57.940 lift your voice? Why would you go out and protest unless it is actually to demand change?
00:09:03.500 So take a look at some of these comments under Tulsi Gabbard's post.
00:09:06.460 I have always respected the Prime Minister's office and the person holding it until this guy.
00:09:10.460 I am frustrated, confused and fear for our future. You know, I actually think that that comment is how
00:09:15.680 a lot of Canadians feel. You know, the reason why the Freedom Convent was such a big deal was that it was
00:09:19.760 so unexpected. It was so unexpected in a country like Canada, because we've been pushed so far.
00:09:25.420 We've been pushed so far to the brink that all we had left was to get together and send a very loud
00:09:31.440 message to our government. Excellent point of view. Very well said. Hear, hear for free speech and
00:09:37.460 expression in USA and Canada. And this one here. Hi, Tulsi. That is certainly a lengthy and imaginative
00:09:43.120 way of writing. They are liars and gaslighters. And this is a reminder to let me know in the comments
00:09:47.880 what your favorite Freedom Convoy memory is. For me, it was when I was standing on Wellington
00:09:52.440 Street, surrounded by peace-loving Canadians, together singing O Canada.
00:09:56.520 O Canada, our home and native land. True page and love, in all our sons' command. With glory hearts
00:10:16.680 we see, we see the rise, the true north strong and free. From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
00:10:31.240 O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
00:10:49.800 O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
00:10:59.240 All right, that's going to do it for us on the show. Thank you so much for tuning in.
00:11:06.280 I'll catch you on Thursday. My name is Harrison Faulkner, and this is Radio.
