00:00:00.000 And it was Jason Kenney standing with Mark Mielke, who's a part of the Winston Churchill Foundation, I believe.
00:00:05.720 And they had just announced the creation, privately funded creation, of a new Winston Churchill monument.
00:00:11.980 And when I saw that, it was a really nice thing to see.
00:00:14.940 That's the kind of thing that I love to see people in this era, Andrew, trying to defend history,
00:00:21.240 trying to build monuments to real heroes.
00:00:24.480 And Winston Churchill is certainly one of those.
00:00:26.640 But what a surprise.
00:00:27.560 So along comes a new Winston Churchill statue.
00:00:31.540 And just like that, as we all could have predicted, the legacy media, CBC in particular,
00:00:36.680 they come along trying to bash the concept.
00:00:40.740 And the usual procession of people trying to rewrite history,
00:00:45.560 talking about how Winston Churchill is not deserving of monuments, he's not deserving of new statues.
00:00:50.320 And in this CBC article, they talk about how basically this is Jason Kenney's way of declaring what we must celebrate and what warts be damned, I guess.
00:01:00.980 I don't really understand this.
00:01:02.880 So we're building a monument to Winston Churchill.
00:01:05.020 But it's a terrible idea because Winston Churchill, in this article, as they say, was, they said,
00:01:12.420 no question, he was a racist and a white supremacist.
00:01:15.740 They just put that out in the article from a University of Calgary historian.
00:01:20.320 And then the article goes on to say, and this part really got under my skin, Andrew.
00:01:24.160 The article then goes on to say that why would we need a new monument of Winston Churchill when there are schools named after Winston Churchill?
00:01:30.880 There are roads named after Winston Churchill.
00:01:33.180 Surely that's enough.
00:01:34.680 That's enough for a man like Winston Churchill.
00:01:36.740 And that caught me thinking.
00:01:38.320 We're seeing schools be renamed.
00:01:40.480 We're seeing roads be renamed.
00:01:42.000 So clearly roads and schools are not enough to celebrate these great heroes that deserve far more recognition than they're getting now.
00:01:50.380 It's just another classic CBC attempt, in my opinion, to bash the history of our country and kind of play along with this group of people that are trying to vandalize, tear down, and essentially, by doing so, rewriting our history.
00:02:05.740 Yeah, I mean, this has always bothered me in general with historic figures.
00:02:10.080 But with Winston Churchill, this was the original, like, the OG anti-fascist.
00:02:14.840 Like, this was the guy, the left says they're anti-fascist.
00:02:18.600 This is the guy who defeated Hitler for crying out loud.
00:02:21.740 Like, you don't get more Antifa than Winston Churchill if you use, like, the literal meaning of Antifa.
00:02:28.140 So the reality that they go around and their preferred slur on people is calling everyone a Nazi, calling everyone a fascist, calling everyone a white supremacist.
00:02:37.340 And then you take the guy that liberated the world, in large part from fascism, and we say, oh, well, you know what?
00:02:43.980 He might have had, he might not have been big on the transgender bathrooms.
00:02:48.140 Or, well, you know, he might have made this joke or that line or that quip.
00:02:52.900 One of the things, so he, for starters, he's British.
00:02:56.040 And I'm not making fun, my whole family is British.
00:02:59.180 Brits talk differently than non-Brits do.
00:03:01.760 So any time you look at, like, Winston Churchill's quotables or same as Prince Philip's, you have to accept that and have a margin of British around what the acceptable levels of discourse are.
00:03:13.380 But more importantly, we have to stop measuring people against this yardstick of 2022.
00:03:18.000 And I think what Jason Kenney is promoting here, building a statue, is fantastic.
00:03:22.300 I was just in Austria and Hungary on vacation a few weeks back.
00:03:26.700 And when you walk around, especially in Hungary, you look and the statues littering, littering the entire downtown of Budapest, for example.
00:03:35.700 And you look at it and you say, I bet I could Google all of these people and find something to cancel them over.
00:03:40.760 But you don't because you accept that they're a part of a country's story.
00:03:44.060 They're a part of the world's story.
00:03:45.820 And I think we should start a campaign.
00:03:48.140 For every statue that is taken down, we build two of them.
00:03:52.320 For every statue that's taken down, we build two.
00:03:54.180 We build the Winston Churchill statue.
00:03:55.980 If they take that one, we build another one to Winston Churchill.
00:03:58.680 And then we pick a bonus figure as well and do that.
00:04:01.300 No, exactly.
00:04:02.020 That's the kind of thing I love to see.
00:04:03.620 And or even, Andrew, if a statue comes down, you rebuild it in its place.
00:04:07.160 But it gets a little bit taller every single time it comes down.
00:04:09.860 So it becomes more...
00:04:12.080 So eventually Queen Victoria is like 87 feet tall.
00:04:15.440 It's like, oh, wow.
00:04:17.100 Step aside, CN Tower.
00:04:18.900 Queen Victoria is now the tallest freestanding structure in the world.
00:04:24.180 Theiances as well object – the
00:04:33.360 precast and recent ΠΎΡ‚Π»ΠΈΡ‡ative features – the
00:04:38.880 Korean side, thessarf.
00:04:40.540 Let's keep on listening from the компанииласти.
00:04:42.660 With respect to the surprise, the legend isичСскиx.
00:04:45.400 I promise it will come back to itt centre.
00:04:47.920 Once you are known to the Coalition Taxi,
00:04:49.700 let's keep on confusing the ΓΌlke.
