Juno News - The COVID busybodies continue to meddle in other people's lives

00:00:00.000 Well, it looks like the COVID busybodies out there who spent their time obsessing over what

00:00:10.120 other people were doing, where they were standing in the grocery store. Oh my gosh,

00:00:13.520 there's groups of teenagers walking around on the sidewalk, not wearing masks. The people who

00:00:18.900 perhaps called the police on their neighbors for having one person over back when it wasn't

00:00:23.760 allowed. Okay, don't break the law, but don't call the cops on your neighbors. Well, it looks like

00:00:28.360 those folks are not actually embracing the good news and seeing that BC and Alberta and Saskatchewan

00:00:34.400 have all said no pandemic restrictions, mask mandates are gone, and we got a whole bunch of

00:00:38.940 officials saying, uh-uh, no vaccine passports, no looks like vaccine passports, and kind of wringing

00:00:44.240 your hands over the vaccination status of others and just generally obsessing over other people's

00:00:48.600 status, that that is the new thing that the COVID busybodies are now clinging onto. And I saw the

00:00:55.420 latest example of it on social media. I just had to chuckle. I gotta tell you, if you're not familiar

00:00:59.780 with Twitter, and bless you if you aren't, because, I mean, boy, the thing gets bonkers at the best of

00:01:04.020 times, there's a little thing on the side that tells you what's trending. And long ago, I learned what

00:01:08.160 they really mean is what some sort of, like, left-wing social justice influencer wants you to think

00:01:14.620 is what everybody's talking about and what's trending. And I saw Good Life pop up. Good Life

00:01:20.580 Fitness gyms. I'm a member of Good Life in Canada. I'm pretty happy with it because you get the

00:01:24.680 membership, but you can go to any location. The little pass you get, it gets you into other places,

00:01:28.560 so if there's one near your home, you go to that one on the weekends or evenings or what have you.

00:01:32.460 If there's one near your work, you can go to that one during the lunch break. Pretty good system

00:01:36.240 they have set up. I was really upset that Good Life was not open more during the pandemic. I felt like

00:01:42.400 physical fitness was an important thing and that it should have opened earlier. In Ontario,

00:01:47.260 gyms are actually only opening this Friday. They've been closed for many months. Lots of people

00:01:52.460 excited to go back to the gym. Lots of people excited to go back to Good Life because they're

00:01:56.780 such a large company. Now, get a load of this. Good Life posting to social media, yay, we're going to

00:02:01.740 be open on Friday in Ontario. A person writes back, will members have to show proof of vaccination to

00:02:08.200 work out? And here's what Good Life says in response. Hey there, at this time we are not

00:02:13.660 planning to require associates, so that's employees, or members to be vaccinated to enter our locations.

00:02:19.800 For privacy reasons, Good Life will not disclose information regarding any individual associate's

00:02:25.800 vaccination status. Okay, well there you go. You got Doug Ford saying no vaccine passports, Jason

00:02:31.420 Kenny as well. You know, you've got other people like everybody who wants a vaccine, particularly in urban

00:02:36.980 locations, has access to pretty much double doses by now. I think some people in rural neighborhoods

00:02:42.080 not able to get their second shot yet, but by and large the access is there. So if you're concerned

00:02:47.520 about going to the fitness club and so forth, even now when coronavirus cases are so minimal that

00:02:52.580 they're pretty much crashing all across Canada, well you got your vaccine, there's not many cases out

00:02:57.180 there. Okay, what's the problem? If you really don't feel comfortable going, you just don't go.

00:03:02.180 Oh no, Good Life trending, although not really trending, just a few busybodies I rate about it,

00:03:08.000 because of this. Because Good Life says they are not going to ban unvaccinated people or require

00:03:13.720 proof of vaccination from probably the majority of people there, the vast majority of people there

00:03:19.080 who will be vaccinated. Get a load of some of these responses. Ha ha ha ha ha, your doors will be closed

00:03:25.440 before you know it. All the smart people will stay away and the rest will be dead. And that person's, 0.86

00:03:32.500 that person's handle, their name is MasksWorkSoWearum. That's the name that they have on their social

00:03:39.820 media account. Similar things, one person writing, what a crappy thank you to the 70% of Canadians who got

00:03:46.680 a first dose to help organizations like yours reopen. They are paying clientele too. I don't really

00:03:53.940 get the rationale here that the 70% or more of Canadians who got that first dose presumably did so

00:03:59.600 because they wanted to. They felt it was a thing that they should do for themselves or their loved ones

00:04:04.040 or what have you. This idea that that they need to be the only ones who are allowed to work out or

00:04:10.380 something or at these establishments. And that's kind of the logic of a lot of these vaccine passports 0.96

00:04:16.100 right now. I think a lot of people just kind of want them introduced as punitive measures to punish

00:04:20.840 people who are not being vaccinated or for a way to elevate their own status out there. Very odd

00:04:26.920 to see all this. Good Life trending, but not trending. I imagine when Good Life opens on Fridays in

00:04:32.420 Ontario, it'll probably be packed. And those handful of people who do not want to go, well, they will

00:04:36.900 choose not to go. And that's how it works. And you don't need a vaccine passport for a place like Good Life.
