00:00:00.240 At long last, the federal government announced that they were going to allow their last remaining
00:00:04.800 pandemic restrictions to expire on October 1st. Essentially, ARRIVE CAN or ARRIVE CAN'T,
00:00:12.640 as it's popularly known, will become optional. In addition to this, testing and quarantine
00:00:18.880 requirements for those entering Canada, as well as mask mandates on planes and trains,
00:00:24.880 will no longer be in place. So it seems like finally we're getting closer to joining the rest
00:00:30.800 of the world in hopefully putting the pandemic behind us. Canada, as you know, something that I've
00:00:36.320 been pointing out for months now, has been an extreme outlier in terms of how long stringent
00:00:42.160 restrictions have been maintained in the face of a retreating pandemic. Today, I'm pleased to welcome
00:00:47.680 back Sean Rickert and Carl Harrison. You might recall Sean and Carl are two British-born entrepreneurs
00:00:55.280 Canadians who brought a civil lawsuit against the federal government's vaccine mandate for travel.
00:01:03.120 You might also recall that last month, based on the cross-examination of key government witnesses
00:01:09.840 by their attorney, Sam Presfalos, I broke the story for Barry Wise's Common Sense platform
00:01:15.840 that the government, the Trudeau government's vaccine mandate for travel had no scientific rationale.
00:01:21.440 Now, after the federal government suspended the vaccine mandates, both for travel and for the
00:01:28.080 civil service on June 16th, the attorney general filed a mootness motion. Basically, the government's
00:01:34.880 position is that now that these mandates have been suspended, the lawsuit challenging them
00:01:41.520 is no longer relevant. It is now moot and therefore should be dismissed.
00:01:46.080 On September 21st, the federal court of Canada under Judge Jocelyn Gagné began hearing submissions for
00:01:52.400 press for laws and lawyers representing the attorney general, which I attended via Zoom. We're still
00:01:59.200 awaiting a decision from the judge on whether she thinks the case is moot or not. If it's not,
00:02:04.000 then the case gets its day in court.
