00:00:00.000 Canadian media are utilizing their charter freedoms to actively attack and demonize religious and
00:00:11.120 faithful Canadians who are choosing to exercise their charter rights. Recently we've seen state
00:00:16.960 funded media and pundits alike attacking attendees of the Church of God near Steinbeck, Manitoba,
00:00:23.280 who have chosen to keep their doors open at least to drive in church services in defiance of
00:00:29.680 public health orders in Manitoba. In an interview between the post-millennial and chief apostle
00:00:35.760 Ray Timmons of the Church of God, Timmons stated and I quote, while officials say it is not safe to
00:00:42.720 have a drive-in parking lot service, they deem it acceptable to have a full parking lot at Walmart,
00:00:49.120 Canadian Tire and other venues. While they say gatherings are unsafe due to the virus,
00:00:54.560 they allow the sale of health-harming products like alcohol and tobacco. They preach concern for life,
00:01:01.120 but abortion and physician-assisted suicide are supported, end of quote. Due to RCMP blockading
00:01:07.840 the parking lot of the Church of God in Manitoba, individuals who are attending church services were
00:01:13.120 forced onto the adjacent highway to finish their church service. In Manitoba, due to the lockdown
00:01:20.240 restrictions by the Public Health Authority, individuals can only gather in groups of five
00:01:26.240 or less and this includes drive-in church services or in vehicle meetings. And in Chilliwack, British
00:01:33.120 Columbia, we saw state-funded media stake out a church, counting how many people went into and came
00:01:39.680 out of the church building. The state-funded media journalist stated that there were 60 such individuals
00:01:46.080 in a, what she determined, bold breach of public health orders of the province. Winnipeg Sun writer
00:01:52.160 Scott Billick openly mocked church goers for defying health orders, even suggesting that in-vehicle
00:01:58.000 services were dangerous. Billick posted a parody on Twitter of John 316, which stated, and I quote,
00:02:05.760 For churches so loved the world, they gave their only parking lot, that whoever gathers there shall not follow
00:02:11.040 the rules but put more strain on the healthcare system, COVID-316. Freelance writer and self-identifying
00:02:18.800 socialist Nora Loretto also argued that churches are not essential, and believes that they, as well as
00:02:25.680 funerals, should be forcefully shut down, as some do make profits. McLean's contributing editor, Andre Demise,
00:02:34.400 has suggested that church goers such as those in Manitoba worship a false god, claiming that
00:02:40.320 evangelical Christians worship a white Jesus, and that this puts them at danger. The Canadian media
00:02:47.600 should be reminded that they are actively attacking Canadians' charter rights, and which are found in
00:02:52.960 the very charter which allows the media to freely operate. This sets a dangerous precedence, because
00:03:00.080 whatever rights or freedoms are on the chopping block, and no one seeks to protect or defend those rights
00:03:05.920 or freedoms, well, we might as well line up all the other rights and freedoms in which Canadians
00:03:10.800 currently possess, because it's only a matter of time before those rights and those freedoms are on
00:03:17.520 the chopping block themselves, and all of Canadians suffer for it. For True North, I'm Matea Myrda.
