00:00:00.000 Canadian Armed Forces veteran James Topp arrived in Ottawa on Thursday ending his monumental

00:00:07.560 4,000 kilometer walk across Canada in protest of federal vaccine mandates and other heavy-handed

00:00:16.080 restrictions. Topp was met with an army of freedom-loving supporters that were there to

00:00:22.580 cheer him on and walk with him as he took his final steps of his incredible journey.

00:00:28.420 And I wanted to ask some of these people why they made the trip to the capital to see and walk with

00:00:36.340 James Topp. As a veteran I was inspired I had to come here I just had to like there was no stopping

00:00:45.700 me nothing would stop me from being here and again to see how many people were here to meet James to

00:00:52.540 see listen to his speech was I'm sure brought a tear to everybody's eye. I'm just so proud to be here.

00:00:59.500 To be here it's a historical moment in Canadian history this James Topp who's walked from Vancouver

00:01:07.040 to Ottawa for all of us he's not doing it just for himself but all of us and for me I was

00:01:14.460 thinking this morning every kilometer of pain of perhaps despair of hope and wishing for Canada to

00:01:27.300 wake up to me so like a wake-up cry like please let's wake up collectively. I came because I am in

00:01:33.400 Canada and I've never been to Ottawa on Canada Day so this is going to be probably the biggest and the

00:01:39.460 most memorable Canada Day we ever have 150th doesn't even won't even hold a candle to it I don't think so.

00:01:44.420 I I've been following him on social media and I live in Montreal and I it's just my patriotic duty to

00:01:51.300 come and support this guy for all the services that he's given and for all the strength that he's shown

00:01:57.220 to walk every step that he's walked and I'm going to join him at the end. James left about what four

00:02:03.300 months ago to come down here I find he didn't have the media wasn't out there like you know to to support him and

00:02:10.260 uh I I was one of the bikes on the rolling thunder and I I said we got to support our military and uh support

00:02:17.140 James. In response to Topp's anticipated arrival as well as planned Freedom Canada Day celebrations

00:02:24.660 the city of Ottawa decided to restrict access to the downtown and the government of Canada installed fencing

00:02:31.540 on Parliament Hill and at the Supreme Court. Given that James Topp's arrival was deemed to be a

00:02:37.540 celebration I wanted to ask some of his supporters what they thought was there to fear. The narrative

00:02:45.460 of fear continues with the mayor of Ottawa, the Liberal Party, the NDP, the press uh excluding the great true

00:02:54.820 north of course um and it's easy to succumb to to fear and uh and uh and it's so it's a natural uh

00:03:04.100 inclination to just stay away or to condemn instead of just using your critical thinking side I think we

00:03:12.180 have Canadians we I implore my friends and my brothers and sisters in Canada to get uh to wake up. There's

00:03:20.340 nothing to fear the last time there's nothing to fear this time except love if you want to stand back from

00:03:24.340 that then I guess you better leave town because it's going to happen one way or another. I personally

00:03:30.340 live downtown in downtown Ottawa and I was there at when the truckers were here I was there almost every

00:03:38.260 night uh I never felt so much love I never got so many hugs I never was fed so freely um the the the

00:03:48.900 homeless people were giving me food so yes it's a it's a huge huge misconception that there is any

00:03:58.100 danger at all uh it's like the uh Ottawa convoy there was nothing the the only time that you feel

00:04:05.700 scared a bit is when you see the all the cops showing up to where you are then you realize something's

00:04:10.580 got to go on because there's too many cops that's when the that's the issue cops are having in Ottawa right 0.81

00:04:15.860 now is they're being uh how could I say they're being uh people think that they're just coming

00:04:22.340 towards them to stop them because that's what the mayor wants them to do like they're we're afraid of

00:04:28.660 jaywalking so we don't get put in jail or stop or seize our trucks or anything you know if you look

00:04:34.580 around everybody's respectful to each other even even when I was in Ottawa or even here today I talked to

00:04:40.980 the cops they're nice you know everybody they're doing their job but there's always elites all higher

00:04:46.420 than them they're stirring all this up you know what wouldn't have mattered what they blocked off

00:04:50.820 the people got to meet James top you know what they the fact that he spoke in front of the war memorial

00:04:58.740 and his speech about the war like look at that that those men and women that's what made Canada

00:05:06.260 I'm sorry but that they couldn't stop us from being there as you saw a lot of Canadians were there

00:05:13.460 very happy to support veteran James top as he ended his incredible march for more coverage of freedom
