The spectacle of COP26 continues, but how can anybody take these climate hypocrites seriously?
00:00:06.520
I'm Candice Malcolm, and this is The Candice Malcolm Show.
00:00:13.540
Hi everyone, thank you so much for tuning into the podcast. It is great to have you with us today.
00:00:18.320
So the spectacle over in Scotland continues with COP26, where we see blowhard politicians
00:00:25.000
gathering from all over the world congratulating themselves for caring so much about the planet,
00:00:30.120
pontificating about all the various schemes and ideas they have to tax the economy,
00:00:35.880
to tax the citizens of the world. Justin Trudeau's latest idea is that he wants a global carbon tax.
00:00:41.500
So he wants to impose a carbon tax on poverty-stricken individuals in the world's poorest countries.
00:00:47.520
He wants people in developing countries and poor countries to take their hard-earned money
00:00:51.880
and give it over to corrupt government officials, in many cases very corrupt communist government
00:00:57.040
officials. And what, that's somehow going to change the planet? That's going to change the fate of the
00:01:01.560
planet? That's going to change the future weather of the planet? I mean, the whole thing is just
00:01:05.880
absolutely ridiculous. It is so absurd. And yet here we have the situation where not only are we paying
00:01:12.040
for all of these entitled, arrogant politicians to go and have basically a two-week party where they all
00:01:18.620
feel so good about themselves, where they are able to virtue signal, where they are able to feel
00:01:22.960
so powerful and so important that they're going to change the fate of the planet. They're going to
00:01:27.580
save the planet, these people. And meanwhile, they're all flying in, you know, in the day and
00:01:32.680
age where you can go to a meeting on Zoom. Many people still work from home. Many people still
00:01:37.780
telecommute. You can get onto your computer, go to a conference on Zoom. Justin Trudeau was able to do
00:01:42.760
that throughout the entire pandemic. And yet somehow now he has to jump on a plane in order to save the
00:01:48.780
planet because the thing that's going to save the planet is a bunch of world leaders and business
00:01:54.120
executives flying on airplanes. So we saw the story that there are 30,000 officials at this conference
00:02:00.060
in Scotland, 30,000. And that's just the officials, right? There are also journalists from all the
00:02:06.160
countries from all over the world going to attend this thing. So we're talking about thousands and
00:02:10.980
thousands of airplanes. We saw that report that there were 400 private jets carrying business leaders
00:02:16.380
and politicians to this thing. So, so all of these people who are sitting around pushing
00:02:21.180
doomsday scenarios about how the world's going to end, how it's all over. And it's all because of
00:02:25.580
carbon. It's all because of things like airplanes and the amount of carbon that's released in the
00:02:30.620
atmosphere. And the only way to save it, folks, the only way to stop this doom scenario of our planet
00:02:36.520
is for these entitled politicians to jump on their planes, to jump on their private jets and fly to
00:02:43.320
Scotland. And somehow that's going to make everything okay. That's going to make it all better. And how
00:02:48.120
are we supposed to take these people seriously? Like, like if you actually believe the rhetoric
00:02:52.520
that these politicians put out, and it's not just liberals like Justin Trudeau, we saw a conservative
00:02:57.320
UK leader Boris Johnson say the same nonsense, that it's a doomsday scenario. We saw the UN Secretary General
00:03:04.200
saying that humans are, are digging their own graves. Well, well, if you actually believe that the world
00:03:08.520
has what, like five years left, and then it's going to be a fiery apocalypse. If you actually believe
00:03:14.440
that kind of rhetoric, do you know what the last thing you would do? The last thing you would do if
00:03:18.760
you actually believe that is jump on a private jet and fly to Scotland. If you were actually concerned
00:03:23.160
about the amount of carbon going into the atmosphere, if you were so paranoid and you believe
00:03:27.240
that we had such little time to act, the last thing you would do is organize a conference where you
00:03:32.200
asked tens of thousands of people, probably 50,000 people, maybe 40,000 people to come to Scotland,
00:03:38.440
uh, to sit around and go to meetings and do things that you could easily do in this day and age on
00:03:43.640
your computer. So, so, so just the whole basis of this thing is a total scam. It's total nonsense.
00:03:48.920
And to hear politicians come up with these schemes, again, it's all just designed to make themselves
00:03:53.080
feel better, designed to impress the small portion of the population that really cares about this issue.
00:03:58.680
And the whole thing's nonsense. You should not listen to these politicians. You should not give them
00:04:03.320
the satisfaction of thinking that they're doing anything good. So the whole thing just shouldn't be taken
00:04:08.200
seriously. Uh, these, these politicians deserve us to mock them, to make fun of them, uh, to point
00:04:14.440
out their hypocrisy and how absurd it is. Uh, but no, these are not the moral leaders of the planet.
00:04:19.000
These are not the people who are going to change the fate of the planet. If, if their doomsday scenarios,
00:04:24.200
uh, turn out to be true. And by the way, they're not, they're very exaggerated. And we're going to get
00:04:27.800
into this later in the show. Uh, there's a long history of, of humans doing this, of humans believing,
00:04:33.400
that we're destroying the planet, that we only have a short period to act. Uh, in the, in the,
00:04:37.240
in the course of the last 50 years, there's been so many different types of doomsday scenarios. Uh,
00:04:41.880
be it famine, uh, be it global cooling, heading into an ice age, now global warming. Uh, humans always
00:04:46.920
come up with these sort of doomsday scenarios. There's always a segment of the population, um, that
00:04:51.160
really believes that some, something that we're doing is, is going to just end civilization, that we're all
00:04:56.280
going to die because of it and that we have to change course. And then, and then the beautiful thing is
00:05:00.760
that when there are actual problems with regards to, uh, you know, pollution or the, the threat of
00:05:05.880
starvation, the, the booming population, uh, human innovation sort of kicks in and we get these
00:05:11.240
amazing developments in, in terms of scientific breakthroughs, um, you know, entrepreneurial
00:05:16.520
opportunities, people like, like I talked about this the other day with my colleague, uh, Anthony
00:05:21.320
Furey, that I have a lot more faith in someone like Elon Musk to solve a very complex problem. Um,
00:05:27.320
than I do in someone like Justin Trudeau, who, you know, he's an empty suit. He just says whatever
00:05:31.960
he needs to say. And, and he doesn't actually know how to effectuate his promises. So he,
00:05:36.200
so he wants to be the climate guy. He wants to be the leader of this. And yet, when you look at
00:05:39.880
Canada's own record on emissions under his watch, uh, we, we, we fail. We don't meet any of his
00:05:45.400
self-imposed targets, despite his heavy handed government policies. So, so Justin Trudeau is a very
00:05:50.360
ineffectual, uh, person in this space. Someone like Elon Musk to the contrary is someone who is very
00:05:55.560
effective. So I have more faith in the sort of entrepreneurial, uh, private sector type people,
00:06:00.840
um, than I do in any of these government officials. But first, if you enjoy the Candace Malcolm show,

00:06:51.960
forget to subscribe to the Candace Malcolm show. All right. The insanity, the insanity of COP26
00:06:58.920
continues. There's a story over in black ops, absolutely insane. I don't know how anyone
00:07:03.240
takes these people seriously. Canadian government sends 276 delegates, 276 delegates plus 17 press aids
00:07:12.600
to COP26. So for some reason, Canada needs to send 293 people, 293 people to go to this conference.
00:07:21.160
Why on earth would it take 293 Canadians? And let me just tell you, I'm sure they didn't all fly
00:07:28.440
together. I'm sure it wasn't just one chartered airplane with 293 Canadians on board. Plus,
00:07:34.600
obviously the flight attendants and the pilots. I'm sure there wasn't just one plane. My guess is that
00:07:39.640
there was at least half a dozen or a dozen planes carrying these delegates that went across the
00:07:45.640
Atlantic over to Scotland to save the planet from global warming. It is just such an absolute joke.
00:07:51.240
So the, according to black locks, the department of the environment yesterday would not detail the
00:07:56.360
cost of sending Canada's 276 member delegation to the climate change conference. And really that
00:08:02.360
should say 293 because 276 delegates plus 17 press aides. So it takes 17, uh, press secretaries and PR
00:08:13.240
flags, uh, plus 276 delegates to attend a conference so that they can all virtue signal and show off their
00:08:21.560
climate credentials. What a joke. What an absolute joke. So, so basically we had the environment minister,
00:08:27.240
deputy environment minister, assistant deputy minister, the climate change ambassador, the
00:08:32.520
climate change director, and 25 advisors and negotiators within the department of the environment.
00:08:39.640
Plus they sent a whole bunch of provincial environment people. So, so you had, you had officials
00:08:45.320
from the provincial governments, officials from the federal government, plus the prime minister himself,
00:08:50.760
the prime minister's official photographer, the prime minister's official videographer,
00:08:54.920
the prime minister's speech writer, and 17 press secretaries and communication directors, plus
00:09:01.560
four CBC reporters, the entire green party caucus, and a bunch of basically anybody. If you were in
00:09:08.040
Ottawa, you wanted to go to this conference. They basically just had a bus there saying any,
00:09:12.600
any, anyone who wants to come to Glasgow, anyone who wants to come to Scotland to be part of this
00:09:17.400
climate change thing, jump on board. We're going guys, we're going the whole, the whole,
00:09:21.880
the whole city of Ottawa is in Scotland right now. It is just so silly. So silly. This is this huge
00:09:28.120
number. Of course, this is, shouldn't be surprising. Canada sent the most delegates to COP26 out of all
00:09:33.480
the G7 nations. What way to go? What leadership? We, we in Canada, we know how to waste money better
00:09:39.160
than anyone else. We know how to virtue signal and be total hypocrites by flying people to a climate
00:09:44.760
change conference. Canada, we're number one. We're number one guys. So, so Canada had their 276 delegates
00:09:51.000
plus 17 press secretaries. So that should say 293. Meanwhile, in the UK, they sent the second
00:09:57.000
highest number of delegates, 227. They didn't have to fly, I assume. Well, some of them probably did,
00:10:01.640
but others could just probably take a train. Uh, and they only managed to muster up 227 people. Wow.
00:10:08.440
We put them to shame. All right. The UK was followed by Japan who sent 225. France sent 195.
00:10:15.000
The US came in fifth with 133. Meanwhile, Germany only sent a mere, a measly 120 delegates and Italy,
00:10:23.240
66. Wow. Well, Canada, we sure showed them we care the most about climate change.
00:10:28.120
Uh, there, there was this story as well. Catherine McKenna is there. She's showing off on our Twitter,
00:10:33.160
showing everyone how, how important she is. She's still boozing and schmoozing with the, uh, officials
00:10:38.040
over at COP26. Uh, so according to Black Locks, again, former environment minister, Catherine McKenna
00:10:44.440
attended as a VIP. Guys, she's very important. That's why she's there because she's a very important
00:10:49.960
person. The department did not reply when asked if she traveled at taxpayer's expense. So the question
00:10:56.280
is, did, did taxpayers pay for Catherine McKenna? I'm going to guess that we did. I'm going to guess
00:11:01.480
that we did. So McKenna is not on the official delegate list, but she's at the conference and
00:11:05.640
heading meetings, multiple tweets from Catherine McKenna at COP26, uh, were shown. Here's a couple.
00:11:10.920
She says, great event to recognize Mike Bloomberg's new initiative to accelerate coal phase out in 35
00:11:16.520
countries. Canada and Stephen Gilboa, who's the environment minister were recognized as key partners
00:11:21.800
with $1 billion in support to developing countries. So, oh yeah. So this is also a key part of the global,
00:11:28.440
uh, climate change conference is we just splash money all over the place. It's like,
00:11:32.680
Justin Trudeau is this big spender. There he is a billion for you, a billion for you,
00:11:36.760
just throwing out all of the taxpayers money. Like it means nothing. Like it grows on trees.
00:11:41.640
So Catherine McKenna, I don't know if these tweets are sending, are being sent out late at night,
00:11:47.000
but she says this, there's nothing like girlfriends, exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation
00:11:52.520
point. So she's having a good time over there. Um, and none are better than these people who are all
00:11:57.880
her buddies, an amazing example of women leading on climate. Another one saying, loving today's mask,
00:12:05.320
feminist climate justice, women leading on climate change. Way to go, Catherine McKenna,
00:12:10.600
you are saving the world. But again, nobody really knows why Catherine McKenna is there. Nobody really
00:12:15.560
knows what she does for a living. Now, even in a recent interview with global news, she doesn't
00:12:20.040
indicate exactly what her role is other than she is just there to unveil a new climate initiative.
00:12:26.040
So she's just kind of like a cheerleader, kind of just like, you know, there for moral support,
00:12:31.160
uh, there to just, you know, shine, shine her star, show off her celebrity, uh, in this space and just
00:12:37.000
there to be part of it all. And, uh, to, to, to, to really, uh, save the planet, um, because,
00:12:42.680
because of carbon. So in this political report, it says McKenna is not part of the Canadian
00:12:47.480
delegation, but if that's the case, why wouldn't the government just acknowledge that? Because they
00:12:52.120
were asked directly by black locks, they wouldn't acknowledge it. Uh, but apparently in this Politico
00:12:56.280
report, they did. So kind of poorly handled there by the government, but really what more do you
00:13:00.600
expect? They're just so distracted by the opportunity to save the planet and to fight back on carbon. So
00:13:06.360
we could forgive them for that. So Catherine McKenna's record as a minister in the Trudeau
00:13:10.760
government was mixed. Of course, she was praised and adored by the liberal media. They loved her
00:13:15.800
and the Trudeau sort of liberal circle. She was lauded as, as a star, uh, as far, as far as again,
00:13:21.720
her actual, uh, record while taxpayers paid $42,000 for her climate change farewell tour,
00:13:28.920
she jet set 22,000 kilometers, uh, doing various events. According to black locks, again, McKenna's
00:13:35.080
plane guzzled tens of thousands of liters of aviation fuel, and she was telling Canadians to change their
00:13:39.880
habits to combat climate change. Again, nothing convinces the public that they've got to stop their
00:13:45.240
reliance on fossil fuels, quite like politicians flying all over the place in their private jets,
00:13:51.320
guzzling up their own fossil fuels, and then telling us that we have to stop. Nothing, nothing
00:13:56.280
quite so effective as that. Uh, here's another one. Catherine McKenna racked up over $100,000 in taxi
00:14:02.200
fares while she was environment minister. So despite having her own driver, ministers in the government,
00:14:07.800
ministers in Ottawa, they all have their own drivers, their own cars, uh, that pick them up and
00:14:11.720
take them all over the place. Regardless, records show that the ministry of the environment spent
00:14:16.440
over $143,000 on taxis. And most of that was accrued with McKenna as the minister. Next,
00:14:24.520
Catherine McKenna's ministry claims that they have no record of her mileage. So this one comes from a
00:14:30.280
Rebel News investigative exclusive about McKenna's vehicle use, which found that she was using a Subaru
00:14:37.240
Crosstrek for the first two years as the environment minister before switching out the SUV for a
00:14:42.440
taxpayer funded Prius. Uh, during that time, she was crafting a carbon tax on SUVs. Meanwhile,
00:14:48.440
she was driving around in her own SUV. Next, this one comes to you from TNC.News from True North.
00:14:54.520
Catherine McKenna promises to do a better job following a scathing auditor general report. This
00:14:59.160
was when she was the infrastructure minister, and she promised more accountability after the auditor
00:15:04.600
general found her department continuously failed to meet its own goals. Speaking to the House of
00:15:09.240
Commons transport committee, McKenna said that the department needs to do a better job. And finally,
00:15:15.240
who could forget this? When I think of Catherine McKenna's time in office, I think of the climate
00:15:20.120
alarmism that she promoted. I think of her complaining a lot to the media saying that she was treated
00:15:25.080
unfairly online. Of course, the media picked right up on that and made her seem like some kind of a victim
00:15:31.560
and treated her like she had somehow been wrong. Meanwhile, you know, the internet is a pretty nasty
00:15:36.600
place for women and particularly for conservative women. I never see those sympathetic stories, though,
00:15:43.240
about conservative women. It only somehow happens when it's liberal politicians or left-wing
00:15:46.840
politicians who are being targeted. But this viral video sort of says it all. This is what we think of
00:15:52.200
when we think of Catherine McKenna. Here she is at a bar in Newfoundland telling us what she really
00:15:58.040
thinks and her real strategy when it comes to politics. But you know, I actually gave them some
00:16:04.360
real advice. I said that if you actually say it louder, we've learned in the House of Commons,
00:16:08.600
if you repeat it, if you say it louder, if that is your talking point, people will totally believe
00:16:13.320
it. So just go in. All right. So we have Catherine McKenna out there for some reason. We have no idea why.
00:16:18.440
We have almost 300 Canadian delegates plus another what a couple dozen Canadian journalists that flew over
00:16:24.520
there. What is it all for? What have we actually accomplished at COP26 so far? Well, we had Justin
00:16:30.760
Trudeau double down on an oil and gas emissions cap. Justin Trudeau, as I mentioned, called for a global
00:16:37.000
carbon tax because really what we want is money coming out of the hands of hardworking business
00:16:42.360
people and entrepreneurs around the world, particularly in developing countries, and go into the hands of
00:16:47.960
often corrupt, often communist, often horrific human rights abusing governments. That's going to
00:16:54.840
that's going to solve climate change. Okay, Justin Trudeau. Justin Trudeau's first real gaffe has come
00:17:00.200
out here. He is telling people at the conference that his carbon tax has the support of the vast
00:17:07.400
majority of Canadians, the vast majority, he says. And why does he say that it has the vast majority
00:17:13.240
support? Well, because he's the prime minister, because he's won the elections. Therefore, it means
00:17:18.040
that the vast majority of Canadians must agree with carbon tax. Here's that clip. And yes, it was
00:17:24.760
challenged by our political opponents. We had to fight all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada, but we
00:17:31.720
had the had the right ruling that allows us to keep it in place. We won that battle. And we also,
00:17:39.000
more importantly, for politicians worried about bringing in a price on pollution, saw two elections
00:17:45.800
give a very clear consensus by the vast majority of Canadians that carbon pricing and putting a price
00:17:52.840
on pollution is the right path forward. We won both of those elections. And that signal as well is
00:17:59.080
something that people around the world should know. Let me just do a bit of math for the prime minister.
00:18:04.120
Let me just remind the prime minister of the math in the situation. So liberal leader, Justin Trudeau,
00:18:09.160
in the last two elections received the lowest share of the vote in Canadian history. He is the least
00:18:15.640
popular Canadian government ever elected in Canada. In this recent election, 2021, Trudeau got a mere 32%
00:18:23.640
of the vote, 32% of vote, which means that 67.8% of Canadians who voted in this election did not vote for him.

So for some context or comparison, back in 2006, Stephen Harper was elected and he won one of the
00:18:39.240
slimmest majorities in Canadian history. But even at that point, he received 36% of the vote. He received
00:18:45.000
36% of the vote. Recall back in 2006, a lot of people were saying that Harper was illegitimate,
00:18:49.720
that he hadn't actually won the election because he only got 36% of the vote. Meanwhile, here we have
00:18:54.600
Justin Trudeau with 32% of the vote. And yet claims that he has a clear consensus from the
00:18:59.800
vast majority of Canadians. So Justin Trudeau only got 32%. Remember the voter turnout was quite low in
00:19:05.560
the last election. It was only 62%. So really, Justin Trudeau got 32% of the 62%, something like 19%.
00:19:13.480
19% of adult Canadians who are eligible to vote voted for Justin Trudeau. And somehow that means
00:19:20.120
that he has a clear consensus from the vast majority of Canadians. I don't think that the
00:19:25.720
prime minister knows how math works. I'll just leave it at that. Now, as is the case with all of these
00:19:30.760
climate change conferences, every time we have one, there is just so much hypocrisy. So let's go through
00:19:35.400
some of the climate hypocrisy over at COP26. Glasgow locals attendees have been complaining about
00:19:41.800
delegates leaving their cars idling. So this one came from True North. Locals in Glasgow, Scotland,
00:19:47.400
are slamming COP26 delegates for leaving their cars idling around conference locations. So
00:19:53.400
according to Yahoo news, locals have noted that there's just a lot of engines running. So these
00:19:58.200
world leaders are just so busy and important. They have to have their drivers sitting in their cars.
00:20:02.760
The cars have to be idling just in case the important, busy, important politician needs to run
00:20:07.560
to his car and get to the next meeting. So here, here we have the people saving the world.
00:20:11.800
Just sitting around running their engines, letting their engines idle. We've seen that at many other
00:20:17.160
climate conferences. This one's sort of new though. So they have a cruise ship at COP26.
00:20:22.360
It was supposed to be an environmentally friendly cruise ship carrying thousands of COP26 attendees.
00:20:27.720
So the idea was that they just didn't have enough space in all of the hotels. So they got this cruise
00:20:31.560
ship. It was supposed to be a green environmentally friendly cruise ship. Well, it turns out that's not
00:20:36.360
the case. It turns out it is a gas guzzling fuel, guzzling cruise ship. So according to the Independent,
00:20:43.400
the ship is equipped with shore power systems, which allow the boat to charge up on electricity when docked.
00:20:49.480
Despite the feature, a majority of UK ports do not have onshore power stations for medium to large vessels.
00:20:55.960
And so this one is running on gas. So as I mentioned before, there were 400 private jets that flew in.
00:21:02.200
There's approximately 30,000 global leaders, global officials that have come to Scotland from all over
00:21:07.160
the world on their on their private planes, on their planes. An analysis by the Sunday Mail in the UK
00:21:13.000
estimated that the event will produce over 13,000 tons of CO2 pollution. And according to the outlet,
00:21:19.720
the daily record, that amount of emissions, that 13,000 tons of CO2 pollution is the amount of CO2 that
00:21:27.320
1,600 Scots put out in a single year. But again, nothing says that I care about the environment, that I
00:21:34.040
want to save the fate of humanity, that I want to save the planet. Nothing says that I care more than flying
00:21:40.440
your private plane to Scotland to go to a meeting, to impose heavy handed restrictions, to impose carbon taxes,
00:21:47.560
to spend taxpayer money on silly initiatives that will never actually change the climate or change
00:21:53.800
the weather of the planet. But again, this is how the liberal mind works. This is what they believe
00:21:58.920
they have to do in order to save the planet. Don't let them believe that. Don't let them get away with
00:22:03.080
this. This is just pure total hypocrisy, and nobody should take these people seriously. I'm Candace
00:22:08.840
Malcolm, and this is The Candace Malcolm Show.
