The Trudeau Government is taking us back to court. They believe the judge made the wrong decision allowing True North to go to the debates during the election campaign. They are appealing that decision and want to take us back because they think the decision was unfair.

00:00:15.640 breaking news. It's really shocking news actually. I got notice from my lawyer just after five o'clock

00:00:22.120 this evening that the Trudeau government is going to be taking True North to court. Yes,

00:00:28.440 you heard that right. They're taking us to court. They are appealing the victory that we received

00:00:34.040 during the election campaign. They are appealing that decision. They're taking us back to court

00:00:39.120 because they believe the judge made the wrong decision when that judge enabled True North to

00:00:44.600 cover the election campaign to go to that debate after the Trudeau government had stopped us. So

00:00:51.300 we have a government in one of its very first moves after being re-elected choosing to take an

00:00:57.160 independent media company, a crowd-funded small digital media startup. They're taking us back to

00:01:04.360 court. We took them to court the first time because the decision that they made was unfair. A judge

00:01:09.040 agreed with us. The judge ordered an injunction that demanded that our journalist, Andrew Lawton,

00:01:13.940 be permitted to go to the debates and cover the debates alongside his colleagues in the media.

00:01:19.840 That was a huge victory for freedom of speech, a huge victory for press freedom and for constitutional

00:01:25.320 liberties in Canada. But the Trudeau government doesn't want that to stand. So they're taking us

00:01:29.500 back to court. I honestly can't believe it. I thought this was behind us. Our lawyers had just

00:01:34.340 settled with their lawyers on the costs. If you remember, the judge in that trial determined that

00:01:39.680 True North gets costs. So we had just settled. And then we learned that we're going back to court. So

00:01:44.860 I am doing an emergency appeal right now. This is going to get very expensive. We were

00:01:50.020 incredibly pleased and so grateful for all of the support that we received from True North Nation,

00:01:55.300 which enabled us to take that initial fight to court. And we won. It was a triumph. And now we're

00:02:02.840 going to have to go and do it again. So if you can, please consider chipping in. Every little bit

00:02:09.120 helps. We're going to continue to fight this. We're not going to stop. We're not going to let the Trudeau

00:02:13.660 government bully us. They're acting like a bunch of authoritarians. But guess what? We still have

00:02:18.880 freedom of press and free speech in this country. We're a country that's governed by a constitution

00:02:23.540 and not just bullies like the Trudeau liberals who are in power. So we're going to continue to fight
