Justin Trudeau's use of the Emergency Emergencies Act to get rid of protesters who oppose his anti-vaccination and anti-anti-banking policies is alarming and needs to stop. In this episode, I discuss the chain of events that led up to this, and the impact it has had on the protests and the people who have been targeted by it.

00:00:00.000 What Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has done with the Emergencies Act is very
00:00:08.400 alarming. All Canadians should be concerned. The chain of events though 0.64
00:00:12.000 didn't start with invoking the Emergencies Act, something that has never
00:00:15.120 been done before in our nation's history. Many experts stepping forward and
00:00:18.600 saying this doesn't pass the threshold to invoke this. A lot of top legal
00:00:23.400 analysts, experts saying this is not something that should be done in this
00:00:27.120 situation. Trudeau really being roundly denounced by people who know what
00:00:30.860 they're talking about. But going back to that chain of events, I think things
00:00:34.080 really started when Justin Trudeau outlandishly smeared everybody who was
00:00:38.940 protesting mandates in Canada. Everybody who was a part of the truckers convoy
00:00:42.940 who supported it. Everybody who showed up as the day protesters to wave the
00:00:47.000 Canadian flag and say no to mask mandates, vaccine mandates, whatever specific
00:00:51.980 grievance it was that they had. Because we know this is a diverse group of folks
00:00:55.820 who come from all walks of life, who have a variety of grievances, but are all
00:00:59.260 sort of meeting together under the idea of no more overreaching mandates on all of
00:01:04.520 our lives. Justin Trudeau putting out those now famous tweets where he said that
00:01:07.960 the people involved in all of this were Islamophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist.
00:01:14.660 He threw pretty much every word he could find into that mix there of multiple tweets. He
00:01:18.780 also talked about it in the House of Commons, talked about it again during media
00:01:23.160 availabilities. And he really set the tone that anybody involved in this is not just
00:01:27.580 someone who I disagree with, but along the lines of unacceptable views, is a bad
00:01:32.640 person. He really sought to dehumanize anybody who really had a problem with the
00:01:38.160 mandates such that they wanted to participate in the social movement that we are
00:01:42.360 seeing. So he really, he paved the way for what came next, which was to bring in
00:01:47.160 absolutely over-the-top legislation, bringing in the Emergencies Act, to go and
00:01:52.640 basically swat a fly with a giant sledgehammer. Because of course, as many
00:01:57.080 people have said, they'd already dealt with the blockades that were happening at
00:02:00.760 the borders with previous laws that were already on the books, already available to
00:02:04.600 law enforcement. Emergencies Act, unnecessary. But what it did bring in was
00:02:08.540 these very punitive banking rules that people are still trying to figure out what
00:02:12.620 on earth is going on, what can happen with these banking rules. I understand
00:02:16.160 financial institutions, they were on calls with the government to try and figure out
00:02:20.300 what exactly are their obligations, their responsibilities here with this. And a lot
00:02:24.860 of people concerned about just how broadly people can get dragnetted into this. And
00:02:28.820 then you've got the revealing of the people who donated to the convoy, the list of
00:02:33.920 people who made donations to this. And these people now being doxxed, the list is
00:02:38.020 publicly available now. Many people have their hands on it, and it's got the full
00:02:41.620 names, the emails, the contact information of these people, how much they donated, a lot of
00:02:46.180 people posting it online, and then people going and attacking these individuals and
00:02:50.960 being really aggressive with them, trying to basically get them removed from their
00:02:55.180 jobs, trying to get their businesses shut down. It's really disturbing to see all of
00:03:00.260 this, because as I've said many times, and a lot of people on the ground who went and
00:03:04.160 met with all the diverse voices who are protesting these mandates, sure, maybe some of
00:03:08.440 these people, you're not going to care for what they say. A few of them are extremists or
00:03:12.080 nutjobs, what have you. There's that one individual waving that Nazi flag. What sort
00:03:16.720 of loser does something despicable like that? But then you've got tons of other people who
00:03:20.300 are there for a whole variety of reasons who I think really deserve a fair hearing. And yet
00:03:25.680 instead, Justin Trudeau demonizes them, and then uses the Emergencies Act, because he's
00:03:31.700 already set the standard that these are unacceptable individuals, unacceptable views. And now we see
00:03:37.140 other members of the public are taking that ball from Justin Trudeau, running with it,
00:03:41.240 trying to get people fired, trying to get their businesses shut down. Extremely
00:03:45.640 problematic, extremely disappointing to see that happen in Canada.
