00:00:00.000 One of the things that the Chinese Communist Party regime in Beijing has been very good
00:00:11.260 at doing recently is pointing out or trying to argue that anybody who criticizes China
00:00:17.140 is racist. They're engaging in racism. I think they've studied the conversations around racism
00:00:23.000 and how accusations on social media to that effect abound. They've said, this is a good
00:00:27.580 thing that we can do, we can use to stop people from criticizing a lot of the policies that we're
00:00:32.980 doing. Don't play into their propaganda though. Pretty obvious what they're doing there, isn't it?
00:00:37.640 Well, I don't know. Justin Trudeau seems to be playing into their propaganda. Conservative MP
00:00:41.640 Candace Bergen, she asked a question in the House of Commons of the Prime Minister the other day
00:00:45.980 talking about work Canadian research secrets being shared with the People's Liberation Army and what
00:00:52.380 that means for national security issues and so forth. Very important conversation to be had
00:00:56.820 wherever the conversation goes. We got to talk about those issues more and a lot of national
00:01:01.400 security experts from a whole lot of countries are talking about those very concerns. What did Trudeau
00:01:06.960 do? Did he address the issue? No, of course he didn't. He actually talked about a rise in anti-Asian
00:01:13.160 racism and suggested that Candace Bergen's question may in fact be playing into all of that. So, you know,
00:01:19.680 do not be racist was basically his response to her when she asked a question about national security
00:01:25.220 issues related to China's military and China's government. What on earth is going on here?
00:01:30.800 Look, folks, I take great interest in what's happening in China right now and I don't care
00:01:34.080 what some guy who can never find China on a map has to say about what's going on in China. I care
00:01:38.920 about people who know what's happening on the ground in China. I care about what they have to say,
00:01:43.380 their insights on the issues and there's a lot of people from all walks of life who are experts on
00:01:48.060 China but there's also a lot of people from Taiwan, from Hong Kong, from mainland China who have a lot of
00:01:54.560 insights on what's happening on the ground in China and a lot of concerns and they are ringing
00:01:59.440 the alarm bells as in some of the people in Canada who are most critical of the Chinese government,
00:02:06.100 the regime, Xi Jinping, the Chinese Communist Party, they are persons of Asian heritage themselves or
00:02:11.740 persons from China or their parents were from there and so forth and we should be really respecting
00:02:16.540 those people's voices and listening to what they have to say and would the Prime Minister dare
00:02:20.980 accuse them of being racist? I mean it's a question that must be asked and a number of MPs actually in
00:02:26.660 the House of Commons who are of Asian heritage and have some concerns with what China is doing,
00:02:30.800 they took great offense to what Justin Trudeau was saying and they actually accused him of playing
00:02:35.300 into China's propaganda. Now I think Justin Trudeau probably knows what he's doing which is he's just
00:02:41.920 trying to play partisan games, doesn't want to answer the question directly because it will make him look
00:02:46.180 bad and they can turn and say oh you're racist to just try and you know make the conservatives look
00:02:50.600 bad but not everybody is aware of that fact that some of the people who are ringing the bell
00:02:55.860 the loudest about problems with China are persons of Asian heritage themselves and well actually here's
00:03:01.680 the other problem maybe I'm wrong maybe Justin Trudeau doesn't actually understand the issue as
00:03:07.920 broadly as I'm giving him credit for. Maybe he does not realize that there are a lot of people,
00:03:13.360 a lot of people who have come to Canada from China, from Hong Kong, places like Taiwan who really want
00:03:20.280 to talk about some of the problems going on in China and that it is just not as simple as admiring
00:03:26.960 their basic dictatorship. That there's actually a lot of stuff going on on the ground that a lot of
00:03:33.500 people have some concerns about and I really hope the Prime Minister spends more time listening to
00:03:38.800 those very wise voices.
00:03:43.360 Thank you.
00:03:44.360 Thank you.
