00:00:00.080 Finally, the Liberal government has moved on airport rules when it comes to COVID.
00:00:04.520 Finally, after so many people tearing their hair out in frustration at hours-long lines,
00:00:09.480 industry associations saying, we've got to drop this, we can't be doing this anymore.
00:00:13.620 But what actually happened? Well, I've got to tell you, this change is just classic Trudeau.
00:00:19.100 So, we've got all of the people lining up to get their vaccine passports being checked,
00:00:23.640 along with their regular passports. Groups are saying, can we drop that, please?
00:00:26.740 The randomized testing, they say, can we get rid of this?
00:00:29.400 And then the vaccine mandates for airport workers, that's causing a lot of staffing shortages.
00:00:34.060 And various industry groups, they just want it all gone.
00:00:37.100 Well, the Liberals have stepped forward and said, okay, we're going to get rid of the randomized testing.
00:00:42.420 No longer are we going to have that requirement.
00:00:44.640 From now until June 30th.
00:00:47.700 And then we will bring it back on July 1st.
00:00:50.180 It'll be off-site or something, but we're going to bring it back on July 1st.
00:00:53.540 Classic Trudeau. Because here's the thing.
00:00:55.860 We know that he does not like to do something because other people have urged him to do it.
00:01:00.960 I guess he wants to be seen to be doing it out of his own accord, out of his own genius.
00:01:05.100 So, of course, we had the protests up in Ottawa with the convoy, and they said, drop the mandates.
00:01:09.260 And these were mandates that other countries around the world did not have at the same time.
00:01:12.940 And, you know, it was a good point.
00:01:14.140 Just, you know, drop those mandates.
00:01:15.520 But, of course, he would not do that because he didn't want to be seen to acquiescing to their demands.
00:01:20.920 And I know there's a huge difference between, say, the truckers' convoy and airport industry associations.
00:01:26.000 But kind of a similar idea there in terms of, well, I'm not going to do exactly what you say when you tell me to do it.
00:01:32.300 Because, you know, I just don't want to.
00:01:34.520 I want to do it on my own terms.
00:01:36.400 Classic Trudeau, this whole idea, well, we'll drop it for two weeks, but then we're going to bring it back.
00:01:42.600 Because there's other demands as well.
00:01:44.140 And it looks like Trudeau just can't drop the vaccine mandates because he's really committed to the villainizing of the unvaccinated. 0.50
00:01:51.280 And, hey, maybe that kind of worked for him politically a year ago, and that was a big issue in the news, lots of passions about that.
00:01:57.460 But do people really care about that right now?
00:01:59.840 Can you just drop the demonization of the small percentage of people are unvaccinated?
00:02:04.540 Like, who cares?
00:02:06.580 So, yet again, another story where, well, the liberals have maybe made a little bit of a revision to the rules,
00:02:12.100 but will it actually bring the things that are needed, bring the change that's needed?
00:02:15.980 Doesn't look that way.
