00:00:00.000Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you. I hope you all survived the
00:00:10.240government of Justin Trudeau. As we said placidly by, our Prime Minister has
00:00:16.080raised the deficit to a stunning four hundred billion dollars. Four hundred
00:00:21.320billion! The debt is now a staggering 1.4 trillion dollars and he has plans to
00:00:28.160spend a hundred billion dollar more on COVID-19 stimulus before the coming year
00:00:33.400is done. With Parliament being effectively shut down, he has done it as
00:00:39.380though he has a majority government, which of course he does not. In a year-end
00:00:45.740interview with the sycophantic Evan Solomon, he said as much. Solomon may
00:00:51.500cheerlead him and he may feel like he has done a good job, but it is anything but.
00:00:57.080He seems to think it's okay because government borrows at a very low rate,
00:01:02.600nowhere near the 19% interest rate the average Canadian pays on his or her
00:01:08.420credit card for unpaid balances. But to try and spike a difference is to believe
00:01:14.420in fool's gold. It's still 1.4 trillion dollars. In fact, as noted in a recent
00:01:21.500Bloomberg story, Trudeau's spending has resulted in more red ink in just two
00:01:26.540months than in any full year in the country's history. There is no oversight
00:01:32.600by Parliament. The Finance Committee has been stymied by the poor aggression of
00:01:38.420Parliament and then by successive government filibusters which have
00:01:43.260prevented them from getting the relevant information so they can do their job. All at
00:01:50.600the expense of the Canadian taxpayer who deserves much better. Let's not forget
00:01:57.080too that the Trudeau government is doing its level best to keep the information of
00:02:02.180its profligate spending from the Canadian people. The Parliamentary Budget Office
00:02:08.000said so in November, that this is a problem. In the report the PBO said, quote,
00:02:14.700while the sum of these measures is significant, the amount of information that is publicly available
00:02:21.180to track the spending is lacking, thus making it more challenging for
00:02:26.280parliamentarians to perform their critical role in overseeing government spending and holding it to
00:02:32.720account, end quote. So he is spending our money like a drunken sailor and arrogantly not telling us or our watchdogs what he is spending the money on.
00:02:44.680It's really stunning. The bottom line is Justin Trudeau was showing a blatant disrespect for the
00:02:51.160money of the Canadian taxpayer and there's little, if anything, we can do about it.
00:02:56.440So Happy New Year to you all. I hope this Prime Minister and this government will do much better.
00:03:03.160But I doubt that. For Truenorth, I'm Leonite.
