00:06:50.680 pro-LGBT enough, Trudeau held a private meeting with the Indonesian President Jaco Widodo. And in that
00:06:57.160 meeting, Trudeau didn't find the time to bring up Indonesia's shoddy, at best, record on LGBT
00:07:02.400 rights. It just didn't make the conversation agenda. Funny how that works, isn't it? Now,
00:07:06.800 I'm not here telling the Prime Minister to lecture every country on LGBT rights. In fact,
00:07:10.700 I would strongly advise against it if he were ever to take my advice. I'm just here trying to figure
00:07:15.640 out the inconsistency when it comes to lecturing the rest of the world. Because according to Human Rights
00:07:20.360 Watch, Indonesia deploys the police to arbitrarily and unlawfully raid private LGBT gatherings,
00:07:27.060 assisted by militant Islamist extremists. Well, the Indonesian police and military aren't too up
00:07:32.300 to speed on women's rights either. The Indonesian police and military still conduct the controversial
00:07:38.280 practice of virginity testing on female recruits. But again, no issue raised by Justin Trudeau on any of
00:07:44.840 those things. Now, before Trudeau touched down in Japan for the G7, he made a stopover in South
00:07:50.040 Korea where he lectured the South Koreans on not being feminist enough. The problem for the new
00:07:55.520 South Korean President, just like the problem for the Italian Prime Minister, is that they are
00:07:59.860 conservatives and that they are fundamentally at odds with Justin Trudeau's progressive post-nationalist
00:08:05.440 ideology. The new conservative President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yul, made two big mistakes in the eyes of
00:08:11.180 the Canadian government. Two things that really raised the ire of Justin Trudeau. First, was a promise to
00:08:16.700 abolish the gender equality ministry. Getting rid of a government ministry based entirely on the idea
00:08:22.280 of pandering to half the population in the eyes of Amnesty International is, quote, a devastating blow
00:08:28.100 to gender equality in South Korea. But wait, there's a lot more here. Yoon Suk-yul also promised to abolish
00:08:35.780 gender quotas in the public service. No longer will women be hired based on their gender, but rather
00:08:41.720 on merit. So here comes Justin Trudeau. I did highlight that one of the most important things
00:08:48.820 is to ensure that all citizens get to participate in the success of our economies and that governments
00:08:56.580 do have a responsibility to step up on inclusive policies, including policies around gender equality
00:09:03.660 and child care and creating opportunities for everyone to see themselves and see their success
00:09:10.380 in their workforce. But it was one of many topics we brought up as we always will. Now, the South
00:09:16.640 Koreans also invited Justin Trudeau to address their national assembly, which I can't understand why
00:09:21.440 they would bother. But nonetheless, Justin Trudeau made sure to tell the South Koreans that
00:09:25.780 authoritarianism was gaining ground. Yes, a country that borders North Korea and China needs to hear it
00:09:31.440 from Justin Trudeau that authoritarianism is gaining ground. Quite rich coming from Justin Trudeau.
