00:00:00.000 Is that a prison cell? I'm pretty sure prison cells have more room than that.
00:00:05.400 And I'm tired of this bickering from our leaders. At the federal and provincial level,
00:00:09.560 who's the responsibility on? Get together and figure it out. That's what leaders do.
00:00:14.300 They don't look at, oh, who's this responsibility for? They come together
00:00:17.720 and they fix the issue. This is the most important issue we have in this country.
00:00:22.160 we were promised something in this country universal health care the thing that politicians
00:00:30.700 wave like a flag every election the thing that we're told makes us the envy of the world the
00:00:35.240 thing that we pay out of pocket for every single paycheck but look what it's actually become
00:00:40.140 emergency rooms are overflowing wait times are measured not in minutes but in hours sometimes
00:00:45.160 even days millions of canadians are without a family doctor nurses are burning out hospitals
00:00:50.640 are bursting at the seams. And it's a system that seems to fail at the exact moment that you need
00:00:55.900 it the most. Well, this week in Calgary, it happened to me. I wasn't no longer just looking
00:01:01.340 at the statistics. I was in it. The Canadian healthcare system came from my three-year-old
00:01:06.100 daughter. And it doesn't just end there, unfortunately. We see the failures of this
00:01:10.140 policy impact the housing in this country, which we're going to talk about. But first,
00:01:14.620 let's play this clip from my one-week trip when I was at the Calgary Stampede.
00:01:18.480 I'm standing outside a Calgary emergency room right now.
00:01:21.060 My daughter fell on her face, hit a furnace, split her lip, busted her nose, bleeding profusely.
00:01:26.540 We rushed to the emergency room.
00:01:28.320 We're being told it's going to be up to five hours to see her.
00:01:31.160 It's actually been five hours and 30 minutes so far to see a doctor.
00:01:34.920 The nurse came up to us at the five-hour mark and said,
00:01:37.900 we hope that the doctor comes back from the main other area to this area.
00:01:42.780 We're in the emergency room.
00:01:44.380 I don't know what other main area there is.
00:01:46.120 I only put parking for a certain amount of time.
00:01:47.580 I didn't know I would need it all night my expectation was a three-year-old and I get it
00:01:51.900 okay it's not a life consequential event my assumption was a three-year-old that's going
00:01:56.780 through this might have been able to see a doctor sooner the entire point is it's not about who's
00:02:01.820 being seen at the right time it's not about the people and the staff who have been great it's
00:02:05.280 about the system why have we accepted this in this country this is Canada this is a first world
00:02:10.080 country I'm in this emergency room right now people are suffering people are suffering and
00:02:14.880 they're just waiting and there's not even a doctor in here right now which is crazy it's actually
00:02:19.180 unbelievable to me i i can't believe that this is what's happening we spend 400 billion dollars
00:02:24.100 on our health care and this is what we have for it we spend so much other money on all of this 0.81
00:02:29.500 other shit that doesn't matter our health care should matter our health of our family and our 0.77
00:02:34.140 children and other canadians should be the top priority we have to fix this this is not a partisan 0.99
00:02:39.540 issue this needs to be fixed in this country it is honestly just so unbelievable to me it pains
00:02:44.800 me as a father we're just sitting there waiting we have to administer the care i asked like hey
00:02:49.100 her swelling is getting worse while we're waiting here take an ice pack and we're expected to put
00:02:53.120 the ice pack on her i don't know how hard to do it i'm not a doctor but we're just expected to
00:02:56.780 manage to survive while everyone else we're not the only ones everyone else is trying to survive
00:03:02.200 we had over 20 000 people die in emergency room waiting rooms this needs to end please write to
00:03:08.760 your local mp no matter what part of the political spectrum that you belong in we need to fix this
00:03:13.500 federally provincially ask our leaders please for the love of god screw up everything else in this
00:03:17.980 country don't screw up our health care system that we rely on and need on if that's one thing my mom
00:03:23.420 ever taught me is the people that cook for you and the people that take care of you you treat them
00:03:27.900 with the most respect and i feel for the people here they're trying to do their best but there's
00:03:32.320 no doctor there's no doctor in this emergency room in calgary right now stop spending over 10 billion
00:03:37.680 dollars on international aid and spend that money here in these emergency rooms so canadians get
00:03:42.160 better access to care. Stop spending $2 billion plus on our refugee program. Start spending it
00:03:47.540 here. Start spending it on Canadians, the taxpayers who fund these programs. We cannot fund and fix
00:03:53.280 all of the world's problems when we have people dying in our waiting rooms right now. When Canadians 1.00
00:03:57.200 are suffering, this is unacceptable. We talk about how amazing of a country we are. This is a
00:04:01.040 fundamental. Healthcare is a fundamental. And I've been talking about these stories. I've been
00:04:04.840 talking about the nonsense provincially and federally. Get your act together. People's lives
00:04:09.500 are on the line stop being children and start protecting canadians and investing in the health
00:04:14.060 care of the taxpayers that subsidize you and your salaries this was such a disappointing experience
00:04:19.500 and obviously we talk about this all the time and i want to make something very clear i have the
00:04:23.580 utmost respect for our nurses and our doctors they are put in an impossible situation but coming into
00:04:29.980 this hospital this emergency room was honestly like watching the the end of the world in some
00:04:35.660 ways everybody is just slown around like thrown around everywhere uh struggling uh in agony in
00:04:42.940 pain the literally the waiting room is just full it's bursting from the seams and everyone is just
00:04:48.220 in pain and there is no doctor there i want to be very clear when we checked in at 11 30 pm
00:04:54.860 there was no doctor in this hospital this is a major hospital rocky view hospital in calgary
00:05:00.700 until 7am. That's when we saw and we first saw a doctor roaming around the halls, seeing patients.
00:05:08.480 And those nurses told us there was no doctor there. They were, you know, going after and saving
00:05:13.720 somebody's life, presumably, right? Providing care to the people that need it the most. That's
00:05:18.660 not my argument in this, by the way, I am not sitting here and saying, why did my daughter who
00:05:23.100 by the way, this happened in the hotel that we were at, she smashed her face on a furnace really
00:05:28.860 hard, cut her lip, busted her nose. And we just immediately, we saw her and we're like, oh my
00:05:35.080 God, this is bad. And how she impacted her head. We were immediately concerned, but we're not
00:05:39.760 familiar to Calgary. I don't live in Calgary. We're there for the stampede. So what did I
00:05:42.740 immediately do? I immediately called the hotel manager and said exactly what happened. I said,
00:05:47.160 look, I'm not familiar. What is the best hospital to take my three-year-old daughter to in this
00:05:52.200 emergency? As my wife was packing up to get ready to head out the door. And he said, go to this 1.00
00:05:57.020 hospital because the other hospitals won't have as much capacity at a time so we took our best
00:06:01.480 advice from somebody that was local to the area to say where exactly we should be going for this
00:06:05.720 situation so we go to this emergency room and we are waiting there for so long for a a girl the 0.82
00:06:12.840 fact that our health care system can't have enough capacity while dealing with other emergencies
00:06:18.440 okay other life-pressing emergencies to take a three-year-old girl that has sustained these
00:06:25.020 injuries and not see her for eight hours is a travesty. And it's not just her. Oh my God,
00:06:30.140 the stories of the Canadians. I was sitting there in a hospital waiting room. Just unbelievable.
00:06:35.220 A guy broke all of his ribs in a motorcycle accident. He's waiting in pain and agony.
00:06:40.780 Another gentleman broke his leg. He's asking them, please help me. Give me pain medication.
00:06:45.480 Give me something. They're just giving him Advil. It's not helping. People were just suffering all
00:06:49.580 around us. People were coming up to us and saying, oh my God, your little girl needs to be seen
00:06:54.780 now like she needs to be seen and we saw the swelling start starting to come up and i said
00:07:01.400 i went up to the nurses and i said guys we've been waiting here for so long like her swelling's
00:07:06.880 getting worse like what what can we do help us can somebody help us manage this because we notice
00:07:11.540 her face is like starting to puff more and they just gave us this ice pack that i showed in that
00:07:16.460 video she's got a cut i'm not a doctor okay i look i understand i can administer ice to reduce the
00:07:22.400 swelling. But like, I'm thinking in my head, this doesn't look like she just gave us a package. Is
00:07:26.520 it sterilized? It's going on an open wound. How long do I need to be putting it on for? Like all
00:07:30.920 these things that I would expect in a state where as a parent, I'm in shock, like come and give me
00:07:35.160 some guidance and assistance. I got none of that. Got zero of it. We just waited for that eight
00:07:39.740 hours until we saw a doctor. It is unbelievable. You walk into, honestly, if you walk into an
00:07:45.180 emergency room, it is the exact mirror of the status that we have in this country. It is a mess.
00:07:52.400 This country is a reflection of our emergency rooms in this country. We have over 20,000 people
00:07:58.600 dying every year in emergency rooms. It's literally people are struggling and fighting
00:08:03.580 to survive. It's a war zone. It is a war zone. It is unbelievable. And I'm tired of this bickering
00:08:10.200 from our leaders at the federal and provincial level. Who's the responsibility on? Get together
00:08:15.560 and figure it out. That's what leaders do. They don't look at, oh, who's this responsibility for?
00:08:20.380 They come together and they fix the issue.
00:08:23.420 This is the most important issue we have in this country.
00:08:26.460 We can't all sit here and talk about the economy,
00:08:29.440 talk about international relations,
00:08:31.160 talk about trade with the US.
00:08:32.720 We can't go to work every day.
00:08:34.360 We can't enjoy our lives
00:08:35.360 if we don't have a proper functioning healthcare system 1.00
00:08:38.700 in this country that takes care of our innocent babies,
00:08:44.140 that takes care of the people that need emergency surgery,
00:08:46.580 that takes care of people
00:08:47.500 that have fallen in a motorcycle accident,
00:08:49.580 and that have broken their leg, that are suffering from cancer. We need to fix this nonsense. It's
00:08:54.420 unbelievable to me that we focus on all these other issues. This is the most important issue,
00:09:00.960 healthcare. It's surviving. It's providing Canadians with the help that they need to live
00:09:06.880 a quality of life. It blows my mind. And honestly, again, I want to say this to be very clear. I do
00:09:13.920 not blame the people at the hospital. I do not blame you. I blame the leadership of this country
00:09:19.260 for allowing this nightmare to happen.
00:09:21.920 How is it the fact that somebody in the United States
00:09:25.320 can get, in this exact example, treatment in 30 minutes?
00:09:30.120 The average in Canada is four hours,
00:09:32.760 in my exact experience for a three-year-old
00:09:34.620 with a laceration, as an example.
00:09:36.580 But in what I just experienced at Rocky View,
00:09:39.380 eight hours to see a doctor.
00:09:41.380 This is just unacceptable and unbelievable.
00:09:43.860 Canadians, you need to be writing to your MPs.
00:09:46.100 You need to be holding your MP accountable,
00:09:48.200 and you need to be holding your party accountable.
00:09:50.380 This is not a partisan issue.
00:09:52.580 This is not partisan.
00:09:54.280 I care for every single one of our families.
00:09:57.880 And I care for every single one of Canadians
00:10:00.620 that live here across the entire country.
00:10:02.840 We need to do better.
00:10:04.260 Please, for the love of God,
00:10:05.280 if there's something that, again,
00:10:06.860 I was always pressed and told
00:10:08.140 is the people that take care of you
00:10:09.300 in your most pressing time of need,
00:10:11.660 you need to take care of them.
00:10:13.400 Not only do we have so much bureaucracy
00:10:15.500 and a nightmare,
00:10:16.120 I've spoken to so many doctors and nurses
00:10:17.500 that the nightmare bureaucracy is insane. We have so many people in administrative roles that are
00:10:22.740 getting paid so much money when we need to actually get people in frontline care roles.
00:10:29.060 And by the way, those salaries and the compensations, I've looked at the bands. Okay.
00:10:32.500 I see the averages for the nurses, which are, by the way, in BC right now, they are literally on
00:10:37.220 strike action. They're working through different areas of how they promote their strike action.
00:10:41.420 And the average salary for a BC nurse is around $99,000, okay?
00:10:47.280 Doctors, I know.
00:10:48.440 I know personally many doctors.
00:10:49.600 Again, I'm 35 years old.
00:10:50.700 I'm at that age where many of my friends that were going down the path of being a doctor,
00:10:53.820 they're doctors themselves.
00:10:55.140 Many of them have left to different countries because we don't incentivize them enough.
00:10:58.520 They don't get paid enough, just like our nurses.
00:11:01.820 I have multiple friends that went to the US, that went to Dubai, that went to other countries.
00:11:06.760 They're practicing there because they get a better quality of life there for them and
00:11:10.740 their family.
00:11:11.420 for all of the hard work they put in to be a doctor.
00:11:14.680 I remember my mom wanted me to be a doctor.
00:11:16.360 I just couldn't fess up to it.
00:11:17.500 I just couldn't do it.
00:11:18.420 So I have massive respect for the doctors
00:11:20.040 who are the people responsible for saving our lives,
00:11:23.520 for God's sakes.
00:11:24.260 These are the most important people in our societies,
00:11:27.180 our doctors.
00:11:28.340 We need to treat them with respect. 0.66
00:11:30.100 Same with the nurses, 0.85
00:11:31.340 same with the staff that clean up in these hospitals. 1.00
00:11:33.820 We need to do better for them.
00:11:35.440 We need to do better for ourselves in this country.
00:11:37.380 It makes me sick.
00:11:38.400 My daughter is okay.
00:11:39.680 She is recovering.
00:11:40.460 And I pray to God that all the people in that emergency room that I saw fighting for their help, fighting for their health, that they get the treatment that they need.
00:11:49.740 And right now, all across Canada, people are fighting for their lives in these emergency rooms.
00:11:56.800 That's why this is the most pressing issue that we have in this country.
00:11:59.780 We need to solve for it now.
00:12:02.040 And those pressing issues, they continue.
00:12:04.340 To another issue with housing.
00:12:07.160 And again, I talk about the analogy,
00:12:08.720 you walk into an emergency room,
00:12:09.720 it's like a mirror of the destruction
00:12:11.280 and the incompetence of this government.
00:12:13.520 And we look at the housing policies
00:12:15.360 and what this government has done over the last decade.
00:12:17.200 And it's just a complete disaster.
00:12:19.460 Watch this video.
00:12:20.840 This is a perfect example
00:12:23.400 of how everything has gone wrong in this country
00:12:26.400 when it comes to housing,
00:12:27.220 when the government has said the complete opposite.
00:12:29.480 Roll this clip.
00:12:30.120 This is what people are renting out
00:12:31.840 in Vancouver, British Columbia right now.
00:12:33.580 This is not even a room.
00:12:34.580 You're not even going to believe what this costs to rent. $800 to rent this. To rent this. What is this? It's not even a room. There is no room. It's just a bed. They should have just said renting a bed because there's nothing you can do in here. This should be illegal. There's no windows. This is madness. $800 a month.
00:12:55.740 room den is that a prison cell i'm pretty sure prison cells have more room than that
00:13:04.200 uh prison cells have toilets in them that's better this is just a a coffin this is a coffin
00:13:12.020 850 a month this is what has happened to the rental market in this country the housing market
00:13:16.980 we know of and meanwhile all the while mark carney and the liberal government announce a
00:13:24.260 bailout for condo developers in british columbia and in that example vancouver unbelievable can
00:13:31.920 you believe over three billion dollars if you do not understand and by the way they just stopped
00:13:37.360 they just voted to stop an ethics probe into why they are bailing out these developers this is
00:13:43.500 simply finance 101 guys you do not have to be smart you don't have to have an accounting and
00:13:49.020 finance degree like me you don't have to watch the big short you know that over time those condos
00:13:55.280 are going to continue to pile up and they have and they can't be sold over by the way 30 about 30
00:14:00.500 percent of those condos that are unsold are worth a million dollars or they're trying to sell them
00:14:04.320 for a million dollars if you just simply allow price discovery to happen let capitulation happen
00:14:11.480 in the market the prices of those condos are going to come down the prices of inventory is going to
00:14:17.420 come down the cost of living and the cost of housing is going to come down but of course not
00:14:22.860 of course not here comes the liberal government to bail out not not me and you not average people
00:14:30.840 but to the elitist most wealthy developers most wealthy people in this country giving them
00:14:38.040 your tax money that's right your money to make your life even more expensive by propping up the
00:14:45.680 market. This is insane. This is insane. And now this liberal government has a majority and they
00:14:51.920 could basically squash probes into this so they could just do whatever they want. If you are a
00:14:57.980 liberal young voter, if this isn't your wake up call for you, if you haven't snapped out of it by
00:15:04.620 now, honestly, I don't know what can save you. I actually don't know. We talked about so many of
00:15:11.060 these issues. If you are a young voter and you vote liberal, you are literally shooting your
00:15:16.900 future in the face. You are shooting your future in the face. They're robbing you of your future
00:15:22.840 and your quality of life to make their very rich friends even richer, even richer. It's funny
00:15:30.040 enough, Mark Carney went and had a great dinner with many of those that lobbied this government
00:15:35.220 to do something like this. And what do you know? He goes ahead and does something like this. By
00:15:39.820 the way ontario had a very similar bailout as well and what does this tell you guys what does
00:15:44.520 it tell you the people that said no mark carney is not an elitist oh no he cares for the canadian
00:15:50.100 people this is the biggest most obvious example of how that is not true this is the biggest most
00:15:56.980 obvious example meanwhile you know melanie jolie and his government's also trying to censor canadians
00:16:01.280 from having these type of conversations by the way from having authentic conversations that can
00:16:05.980 be seen as misinformation or disinformation. Well, wasn't it misinformation and disinformation
00:16:11.040 when he stood up in parliament and said, Canada has had the best affordability in the last decade.
00:16:16.740 And then meanwhile, he goes ahead and does this. This guy's supposed to be an economic genius
00:16:21.660 and he doesn't allow for price discovery to happen. That's when you know, it's not incompetence,
00:16:27.560 everybody. It's not incompetence. This is part of the plan. This guy's a smart guy.
00:16:33.560 He knows if he just let more time happen, capitulation, but he's not going to allow that to happen because his interests are not of the interests of the Canadian people.
00:16:44.460 His interests are the people that line his pockets.
00:16:48.600 His interests are of the elitist friends that he has, the wealthy.
00:16:52.480 You think this guy actually cares about you?
00:16:55.720 Realistically, come on.
00:16:57.640 Are you being serious?
00:16:58.580 You think David Eby cares about you? 0.85
00:17:00.440 david eby is so unbelievably incompetent this is all about keeping the rich richer the wealth
00:17:06.800 divide in this country and look i don't make the rules okay unfortunately we have a liberal 0.68
00:17:10.720 government now that has a majority that's long past i don't want to complain about an election
00:17:14.680 that passed but the rich are gonna richer gonna get richer and the poor are gonna get poorer
00:17:18.800 and i will advocate and say so if you're part of the poor class and you continue to be brainwashed
00:17:24.080 and vote for this liberal government and support mark carney and his policies then you are honestly
00:17:29.860 I don't know if I can save you. I don't know if any amount of talking and education can save you
00:17:33.400 if something like this can open your eyes to this madness. Unbelievable what we're seeing in this
00:17:39.240 country. And two of the most important things, by the way, our healthcare, how people literally
00:17:43.360 survive and how people live with a roof under their head are literally being structurally
00:17:48.260 destroyed in front of us. Canadians need to stop being apathetic. We need to start standing up.
00:17:53.600 You need to write to your MPs. This is again, not a partisan issue. Let's remove, forget Mark
00:17:59.520 Carney's a liberal. Forget all of this. Hold him and the MPs that have been in power for 10 years
00:18:05.080 accountable. Look at the scorecard. Look at what's happened with housing. Look at the economy. Look
00:18:10.320 at it all. Hold people accountable. You hold your kids accountable at school. Why can't we hold the
00:18:17.140 government accountable? I'm held accountable on my job every day and so are you. Why is our
00:18:22.820 government not held accountable? We need to start holding people in this country accountable.
00:18:26.840 Accountability seems to be a huge problem.
00:18:28.800 And it's even becoming a bigger problem
00:18:30.320 when we start raising our voices
00:18:31.600 and now they're trying to squash our voices.
00:18:33.660 And that's why I'm so proud
00:18:35.040 of my partnership with Juno News,

00:18:57.220 so that Canadians can open their eyes and wake up
00:18:59.000 so we can build a better country
00:19:00.280 for our families and children.
00:19:02.420 That is one of the most important things.
00:19:04.080 I hope you guys enjoyed this episode.
00:19:05.720 I will see you all next week.
