00:00:00.000 Again, you know, we just have this trend towards not living in reality, you know.
00:00:05.320 And, you know, going back to the body positivity movement, what happened to PE?
00:00:12.360 Did you guys have PE here?
00:00:14.600 Yeah.
00:00:15.740 We used to, like, mess around in PE.
00:00:18.360 Yeah, I have no idea what it's like now.
00:00:20.720 They used to, like, actually, it's interesting if you look at videos from, like, the 70s and 80s.
00:00:25.820 Yeah.
00:00:26.220 They used to have all these, like, push-up contests.
00:00:28.340 Because you had to make PE requirements.
00:00:30.880 Yeah, yeah.
00:00:31.480 And now it's just, like, games.
00:00:33.120 There's no real, they got rid of PE in high school.
00:00:35.360 It's not very competitive.
00:00:36.840 No.
00:00:37.160 No.
00:00:37.680 Okay.
00:00:38.140 Not physically challenging, which probably is the point.
00:00:40.940 Okay.
00:00:41.460 And so there's a video that's going viral from the 1960s talking about PE in school.
00:00:47.180 Let's pull it up.
00:00:52.360 People are shocked at what American high school gym class looked like in the 1960s.
00:00:56.920 This footage is from one of the 4,000 U.S. high schools that followed La Sierra's physical education program that was pushed to be the standard model by JFK.
00:01:05.380 According to the La Sierra physical education standards that were outlined in their 1966 handbook, the minimum push-ups that a student should be able to do is 16, and they should have at least a 7.5-minute mile run.
00:01:17.040 Considering most modern Americans struggle to even complete five push-ups, this 16 minimum is quite shocking.
00:01:23.740 The top group that was outlined in the handbook is Blue Team, and to be a part of this, you had to be able to perform 12 handstand push-ups.
00:01:31.180 JFK, man.
00:01:32.440 Isn't that crazy?
00:01:33.600 That's crazy.
00:01:34.700 You were in such good shape.
00:01:36.280 I think now people will think that's like they're preparing for the army or something, but that's just in high school PE.
00:01:42.520 It's just your typical high school gym club.
00:01:45.240 That's amazing.
00:01:46.500 It's interesting to see beach pictures from that too, because now you see like so many overweight, chubby, big people, but then everyone was in shape.
00:01:56.320 Yeah.
00:01:57.540 And it's like...
00:01:58.400 Healthy, happy.
00:01:59.240 It says when men used to be men.
00:02:01.700 All right, ladies, we're obese too, all right?
00:02:04.240 Well, that's all right, but yeah.
00:02:07.000 Kids today would cry if you were to do this.
00:02:09.800 True.
00:02:10.140 I would cry.
00:02:10.660 I couldn't do that.
00:02:11.560 No.
00:02:12.920 This shit's dumb.
00:02:14.100 Of course.
00:02:15.160 Yeah, it's probably sad.
00:02:16.060 Of course.
00:02:18.060 Why do you think we're so fat today?
00:02:20.200 What do you think happened?
00:02:23.800 There's just so much too.
00:02:25.240 It's just, I don't know, food's a lot crapper now.
00:02:29.240 Come on.
00:02:29.700 And they say, isn't it, like, oh, I think one of the reasons, there was this fat YouTuber, she was talking about, well, I'm overweight because I can't afford good food.
00:02:41.500 I was like, come on.
00:02:43.820 You know, you can make your own meals and stuff, or we can go into all the boring bits, but the food's really crap.
00:02:51.100 What the heck is PE now?
00:02:52.640 Everywhere you see, fat people are being glorified, so.
00:02:57.220 Well, and how many of those took to order takeout that can't afford food?
00:03:00.600 Yeah, exactly.
00:03:01.160 It's so expensive.
00:03:02.380 Exactly.
00:03:03.960 Yeah.
00:03:04.500 And I just think it's a bunch of excuses.
00:03:08.240 We think alike.
00:03:09.600 Yes.
00:03:09.680 We think, like, this is why you're a fan favorite.
00:03:14.220 Yeah.
00:03:14.620 Yeah, and this is, this is what drives me nuts.
00:03:19.920 It's, like, it's almost sad.
00:03:22.160 It's, like, eerie to look back on because, really, I think that the food's been poisoned because of the love of money.
00:03:28.200 Yeah, yeah.
00:03:28.600 And even, like, you know, they're saying birth control's, like, in the water now.
00:03:32.140 Have you heard that?
00:03:33.760 They're saying, like, basically, like, all of the birth control pollutes the water.
00:03:37.340 Are you drinking tap water?
00:03:39.380 I usually drink bottles.
00:03:41.000 Yes.
00:03:41.640 Stay away from tap water, people.
00:03:43.460 But, yeah, I mean, I'll, I will cook with it sometimes.
00:03:48.120 I'm sorry.
00:03:50.180 I'm sorry, guys.
00:03:51.380 I'm sorry.
00:03:52.380 Boil it first.
00:03:53.380 What?
00:03:53.720 Boil it first.
00:03:54.540 I do, I do boil.
00:03:55.500 Okay, good.
00:03:55.940 I do boil the water.
00:03:56.800 But, but, you know, but even that, it's, like, what caused that?
00:04:01.340 The love of money.
00:04:02.200 Yeah.
00:04:02.480 Because they can make a whole industry off of birth control.
00:04:05.880 And you know what's sad?
00:04:06.760 I had a nanny back in the day who was, like, I still remember her to this day as one of, like, my favorite nanny.
00:04:12.660 I was so close with this nanny.
00:04:14.460 And she ended up not being able to have kids because of a birth control shot.
00:04:17.660 Oh, my God.
00:04:18.520 But she never had kids.
00:04:19.340 She got married.
00:04:20.640 That's so sad.
00:04:21.560 She's still married, but she could never have kids.
00:04:22.940 Oh, man.
00:04:24.580 But it's, like, all of, it just seems like all of these problems are, like, caused really by the love of money.
00:04:31.140 Yeah.
00:04:31.360 And you said it yourself.
00:04:33.600 What did you tell me before the show about the lawyers, the reason they did law school?
00:04:37.940 Oh, yeah.
00:04:38.360 It's just, it's just money.
00:04:39.620 Yeah.
00:04:39.940 But you said they asked your class that, right?
00:04:41.620 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:04:42.320 And I was the only one that was, like, oh, you know, I want to do the right thing.
00:04:46.900 But I didn't say it because, you know, I don't want now it to be singled out and stuff.
00:04:51.020 Yeah.
00:04:51.440 You're trying to graduate.
00:04:52.960 I know.
00:04:53.460 I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, money, yeah, yeah.
00:05:00.660 Okay, well, thank you very much for coming on today.
00:05:03.160 Thanks for inviting me.
00:05:04.220 It was fun.
00:05:04.800 Yeah, very much fun.
00:05:06.020 Tell the people where they can find you and support your organization.
00:05:09.120 Yes, so my Instagram is thefemaleskeptic, and I do have a YouTube channel, but that's kind of, I'm working on it.
00:05:18.340 And the organization that I work for is splitthedifference.com, and we're planning to take the CMS to court.
00:05:24.860 It's a very, very big operation.
00:05:26.240 Yeah, I'm going to cover it when you guys do it.
00:05:28.980 I think that's awesome.
00:05:30.000 Thank you.
