00:11:27.200I just curse this day. Every year I hate it. It should end.
00:11:32.560And every year somebody tells me, well, you know, it's for the farmers.
00:11:36.840Well, you know, 50% of the arable land in Canada is in one province.
00:11:41.400It's the only province that doesn't participate. So it's not for the farmers.
00:11:45.500It's true. And I'm sure the farmers could figure it out and adjust their schedules accordingly.
00:11:52.840One guy who seemed a little sleep deprived this week in a surprising way, because I think he's a smart, smart guy, you know, went to law school.
00:12:03.760I think it was Yale. You know, he's done all kinds of things.
00:12:07.780Jamel Giovanni, who won like 55% of the vote in the Durham by-election, which is, I mean, in fairness to the liberals, it hasn't been a liberal seat for more than 20 years.
00:12:20.580But the margin by which they got clobbered was significant.
00:12:25.800So Jamel Giovanni kind of went out and went on a tirade against a number of people, which he's entitled to do, but including Doug Ford's government.
00:12:35.540And I was surprised by that. Were you surprised as well?
00:12:39.980I know he holds these positions. He's made those positions known publicly in the past.
00:12:45.580I'm a bit surprised he chose to do it then. And I don't think it was in good form.
00:12:50.580I think it was dumb. You know, he doesn't need to be picking fights like that, especially on a night when you just won.
00:12:58.740As far as the by-election wins, my view on by-elections is by-elections don't matter at all until they do.
00:13:05.420And what mattered about this one wasn't that Giovanni win. We knew that he would win. It's the size.
00:13:13.300It's the 35% difference between his take of the vote and the liberal take.
00:13:19.540And the NDP utterly collapsed down to 10. And you know this, in suburban Ontario, if the NDP vote collapses, it normally falls in behind the liberals.
00:13:29.860Either they didn't show or those people have become orange-blue switchers and back the conservatives.
00:13:37.700Those are the three points that matter in this race.
00:13:40.620Not that he won. It's just for the other party.
00:17:34.540So Tuesday, about 5 a.m. our time, so about noon Tel Aviv time, the Israelis put this out.
00:17:43.180The, in the late afternoon, a news conference scheduled for Wednesday morning to announce this funding with Amit Hassen and Bob Ray is suddenly cancelled.
00:17:54.620The Trudeau government says, no, it's about, it's about logistics.
00:21:45.300I don't know that it's enough to turn it around for him.
00:21:48.400But this is the most bizarre American presidential race that we will ever watch with a guy who everyone's questioning whether he's senile
00:22:00.200and a guy who everyone's questioning whether he's criminal.
00:22:03.460And we're going to watch the two of them battle it out.
00:22:08.360I did know that Donald Trump was having fun with Snapchat filters, it looked like, and posting little videos with crazy faces on Joe Biden doing it.
00:22:20.580I've never seen a presidential candidate or campaign act like that.
00:22:24.460I'm turning him into like an animal caricature.
00:22:33.120But, you know, Biden hit some strong points that he needed to keep his base on.
00:22:38.620And then the Republicans responded with something that I would have thought was Saturday Night Live, but it wasn't Saturday Night Live.
00:22:45.600And you, so this is the junior senator from what, Alabama, is she?
00:25:08.480They've got a, they've got a spike the hike rally, they're calling it now, trying to call for the, uh, the tax hikes that are coming on April 1st.
00:25:17.740You know, you got the beer tax hike, you got the carbon tax hike, and then May 1st, you got the airport security tax hike.
00:25:23.320And so he's having a rally of that at the Toronto Congress Centre.
00:29:57.020Crisis Communications. Good to have you. Thanks for having me. Because when this fight came up a couple
00:30:02.740of weeks back, a few weeks back, where you had this kind of all-night session, they're duking it out in
00:30:07.700Parliament, and Polyev is standing against this carbon tax, you said, oh, this is going to cost them.
00:30:13.760Um, and so what do you make of this town hall meeting, where you've got these players invited
00:30:19.600in? Um, and, and I don't understand, I think there's politics at play here, but of them being
00:30:24.920confronted. Yeah, it, it, it's an early warning signal. It's a shot across the bow, you know,
00:30:31.740whatever metaphor you want to use. Like, you know, I grew up, as you know, in Western Canada,
00:30:37.000in Alberta, where most- It's partially why I like you. I'm just going to say that. I'm just kidding.
00:30:44.540It's hard to be like, and like, you know, I, all the kids I grew up with are Ukrainian. Like,
00:30:49.800it's just Ukrainian culture everywhere. We have, you know, one of the largest, if not the largest,
00:30:55.640Ukrainian diasporas in the world. A lot of them are in the West, where, you know, Pierre wants to
00:31:01.060win. So I don't get this one. The reason why I find it bizarre is Ukraine has had a price on carbon
00:31:10.920since 2011. Like, since more, more than a decade. Zelensky comes here in the middle of a war saying
00:31:18.220he needs this trade deal. It was actually the Harper government, of which, you know, Pierre was
00:31:22.760part, uh, was the government that put together the trade deal first. So it's like all the fundamentals
00:31:30.580are right. And it's like the, the problem that the Polly and Tories have created for themselves is
00:31:35.460like, okay, guys, I get it. You voted against this not once, but twice, because it's got something
00:31:43.240that looks and feels like a carbon tax, I guess. But are you going to do that with every other
00:31:48.600jurisdiction in the world that has a similar measure? Are you going to do that with Australia?
00:31:53.020You do that with the United States? You're going to do that with France and Germany? Like,
00:31:56.600are you going to, are you going to vote against every trade deal because of how they want to run
00:32:01.320their country? This is the dumb part of it that I don't get. And he's got to find a way out because
00:32:06.660he's at risk with Ukrainian vote, as we're now saying, but also, you know, as a government, because
00:32:12.300I think he will be prime minister. Yeah. And, and I would push back up as the partisan and say,
00:32:17.280well, why would they put the poison pill in there? And then people will argue, well, Europe is saying,
00:32:21.720you've got to have it in here, but not, not necessarily the fight I'd pick because fundamentally,
00:32:27.640you know, Stephen Harper was the guy, you know, shaking Putin's hand and he only shook it to tell
00:32:31.660him to get the hell out of Crimea. So the stance from conservatives has been out there, uh, on the
00:32:37.080position of supporting Ukraine. But if you can make politics out of this, um, the liberals will,
00:32:42.620but I want to point you to a comment and you know, her, uh, Larissa Whaler, who, uh, longtime conservative
00:32:47.960working in the Ford government has been around the scenes. She went to this private meeting last
00:32:51.680night, which was recorded. And she felt that the, without the proper context, it was not being,
00:32:56.480um, displayed the right way. Cause she felt that there was a good conversation. Um, and, and this
00:33:01.880was her takeaway and her positioning on it. Take a listen. How did the liberals think that when at one
00:33:07.260point the conservatives were saying, give Ukraine more weapons, that they're in Putin's pocket,
00:33:11.720right? What I would say is more likely being in Putin's pocket is issuing all these tweets about a
00:33:17.700purported division in Canadian politics that doesn't exist. I wouldn't be a conservative if
00:33:23.040my own party didn't support Ukraine. It's a line in the sand for me. So that's Larissa Whaler talking
00:33:28.200to Greg Brady this morning on the show and, and, and in your conversation, uh, Warren, she was pretty
00:33:33.280clear. And look, I think the attack back and what they've tried to use is they need weapons in
00:33:38.200Ukraine and you're not sending them. So instead of picking this fight with us, send them the bombs and
00:33:42.860the air system, uh, defense shield that's missing in action. Um, they need weapons. And so she, she,
00:33:49.500she was saying, look, I wouldn't support it cause she's Ukrainian. Uh, but again, this is a word game
00:33:54.920now. So where do you see it going? Well, she's a smart person. I like her a lot, but she sounds like
00:33:59.960she's trying to convince herself. Like, you know, at the end of the day, yeah, the liberals, you know,
00:34:05.940tried to bait the Tories and the Tories took the bait. Like, like my mom, you would always say to
00:34:11.440me when I'm growing up, never be on the same side as Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, and Vladimir Putin.
00:34:16.780It's just like a bad position to be on. And that's where they're at. Like for sure, the Republicans in
00:34:22.660the States, and we're seeing this over and over regrettably are on the side of Putin. Like they're
00:34:28.320helping Putin win the war against Ukraine. And so it's critically important. You know, when
00:34:34.080Polly had knows that that's what Trudeau wants to do, he wants to put Donald Trump on the ballot.
00:34:38.860Don't take the bait. Don't do anything that looks, you know, even remotely Trumpy. Don't do it. Don't
00:34:46.400do it here. They did it twice. And all it's gotten them is just a ton of trouble. And, you know, people
00:34:53.820in the Ukrainian community started and get upset with them. So, you know, literally sort of smart,
00:34:58.280but you know, like I always say, if you're explaining, you're losing. She's explaining.
00:35:02.100Yeah. Well, again, I think for conservatives, it's just like, oh, why'd you have to pick
00:35:05.820this fight? This is a stupid fight. But fundamentally, when you look at the action versus
00:35:09.760words, they have been very supportive of this, but it is politics. As you know, in a war room,
00:35:17.040you will go for blood with whatever you can get. Just before I get off with you, I do want
00:35:21.120to ask you quickly, because I know you follow this a lot, certainly. You know, we've got some
00:35:26.820very big protest plans, certainly at a shul again in Thornhill today. It's been about four or five
00:35:31.440days since that dinner with the, you know, the Italian prime minister was here. We've heard
00:35:37.520nothing from the prime minister, but we're also not hearing anything from Olivia Child,
00:35:41.720DemQ, anything. And they've had days now, days now to address this.
00:35:47.680Section 319, criminal code. It is an indictable offense. It is a crime to promote hatred against
00:35:56.400an identifiable group. To do that willfully. If you're showing up at a synagogue with a sign
00:36:03.580that is hateful, you're standing in front of the synagogue with your sign, you yourself are doing
00:36:10.360that. You are willfully promoting hatred against identifiable group. So I could not agree with you
00:36:16.300more. We have all we need to charge the people who have shown up at synagogues, Jewish community
00:36:22.880centers, but synagogues in particular, and anybody who's planning on doing it, they should be arrested
00:36:28.860and charged. And the attorney general of the province, because the attorney general Downey,
00:36:34.160who decides that they should be charged with willfully promoting hatred. We've got the laws
00:36:39.880on the books. As you and I have talked about a hundred times, we've got the laws. What we seem to lack
00:36:46.140is courage or determination on the part of our politicians and our police to deal with a real
00:36:52.340and present and manifest danger. And it's getting worse every single day. Yeah, no question about it.
00:36:58.360And it's completely missing. They've got the laws on the books. And I'd say it's a little too little
00:37:04.520too late. But let's see what the next afternoon brings. All right, Warren, I got to jump off at that
00:37:09.840point. Appreciate your time. Thanks, my friend.
00:37:12.300Computer generated. Computer generated. I move a little bit. I move a little bit. I keep on talking to you.
00:37:42.280Until my mouth is just controlled. When the distance get between us, you will know we are alone.
00:37:48.360A king is fit for it. A king is fit for it. So get the candle lit. So get the kettle lit.
00:37:55.500And drink his blood and we can talk about it. Don't you dare keep your words in,
00:38:00.220cause what you say is to be utter. And when your eyes start crying, I need some time to feel
00:38:08.400the gas. The gas. I'm sweating on the sidewalk. And love is what you like. All my friends I've been taking. So give them back. I need them back. And now I'm stuck here waiting. For time to end. And time to come back.
00:38:31.400You're walking like the dead. You're walking like the dead. Then say what he just said. Then say what he just said. And stumbling around eating all the people's meds.
00:38:43.400You're walking like the dead. You're walking like the dead. Then say what he just said. Then say what he just said. And stumbling around eating all the people's meds.
00:38:56.320So you have to slow down. Your hands about to flow. And when your eyes start crying, I need some time to feel the gas.
00:39:07.320I'm sweating on the sidewalk. And love is what you like. All my friends I've been taking. So give them back. I need them back.
00:39:22.500And now I'm stuck here waiting. For time to end. And time to come back.
