00:24:38.860That would be Jagmeet Singh, who ripped up his agreement with Justin Trudeau, but interestingly enough, would not say he doesn't have confidence in the Trudeau government anymore, which is odd because you and I have called it a coalition the whole time.
00:24:55.720And what did they insist on calling it?
00:27:21.880There's stock images and everybody uses stock images.
00:27:24.520But the NDP had just gone nuts on Pierre Polyev and see he's in the pockets of Russia because he used Russian jets.
00:27:30.880And then they do the exact same dumb thing.
00:27:34.700So, they were prepared with the screen captures of the letter I got.
00:27:44.020This shows you the level of preparedness.
00:27:45.940So, the letter that went out to caucus, I didn't get the letter because otherwise I would have been able to click and see what their new social media and literature looked like.
00:27:57.280They came prepared with a pile of stuff.
00:27:59.260Now, I don't think they came prepared to answer a question such as, do you have confidence in the Trudeau government?
00:28:06.300It was one of the first questions put to him by a colleague at Radio Canada.
00:29:26.400So prorogation may happen and, you know, look, they can announce at, so the House is due to resume at 11 a.m. on September 16th.
00:29:39.520They could prorogue at 1059 and that's all within the rules.
00:29:45.620I expect that they would do it before MPs get on planes to go to Ottawa, but they're pretty badly managed and organized these days.
00:29:57.180I mean, Trudeau's office was caught completely off guard by this.
00:30:01.520Then they got the next punch to their gut, which I believe they knew before Jagmeet Singh leaving, but it leaked out in the press was Jeremy Broadhurst, his national campaign director and a key figure in each of his election victories, was quitting.
00:30:19.080And bullishly, somebody leaked to the star that it's because Broadhurst doesn't think Trudeau can win and he should have a national campaign director who believes the boss can win.
00:30:38.460And I'm told it was definitely not Broadhurst.
00:30:40.780So they're kind of in a scramble and that's why everyone thinks they're going to prorogue because they don't know what to do.
00:30:50.060And, you know, whether it's, I'll tell you who the new Democrat I spoke to about it was, and that was Belanger, because in tomorrow's podcast, he said if I was them, yeah, I'd prorogue.
00:31:15.560Had they just said when the House rose at the end of June, look, we need a reset, we're going to prorogue and we'll come back in the fall with a speech from the throne.
00:31:26.080Then they would look like they were a government planning and prorogation is not a dirty word or tool, despite it becoming seen that way when Harper did it to avoid the coalition with the bloc taking over.
00:31:42.140It's a valid tool regardless, but it's been made out to be this awful dirty thing.
00:31:51.020But if they had proroged in June, they'd look like they're planning.
00:31:55.400If they proroged now, they look like they're panicking.
00:32:00.920Carney, you know, is he bringing in his successor?
00:32:07.660Carney's going to speak to the Liberal Caucus retreat in British Columbia this coming week.
00:32:14.440I don't know where in BC, I forget where they're meeting, but he's going to speak to them.
00:32:20.080And I doubt it's going to be a very comfortable message because, you know, Carney knows his stuff.
00:32:26.760Left to his own devices, he is a fairly left guy.
00:32:31.600He worked very well with Stephen Harper and Jim Flaherty during the 2008 financial crisis when his Bank of Canada governor and, you know, steering the economy.
00:32:40.980But for other pronouncements he's made, he's pretty left.
00:32:45.260But he still thinks the Trudeau guys are making a mess of the economy in terms of productivity and even spending too much.
00:33:48.980Maybe it was speculation, but it was speculation in a news story.
00:33:52.600But it seems like in both cases, whether it's ISIS or Hamas or Hezbollah or whatever, you know, it's all, they all kind of belong to the same team.
00:34:02.620It looks like the lone wolf Islamic terrorist allegation again.
00:34:06.740And so, yeah, the guy that the, well, he was arrested by the RCMP, some Ontario police and some Quebec police in a small town in the western townships,
00:34:19.440which some of us know do exist, a little place called Ormstown.
00:37:24.200The Americans are going to get very, very nervous about us with all of this, plus the LDD case, the 5,000 people coming in from Gaza who, you know, they promise are going to be vetted.
00:37:37.420Well, our vetting is obviously not very good.
00:37:39.960And the Americans have caught more than 250 suspected terrorists trying to cross the border already this year.
00:37:51.300Yeah, so they're getting very worried, and it's an election year.
00:37:57.040As you know, I think we'll talk about the polls in a sec, but it's an election year, and Democrats are worried about the northern border, not just Republicans.
00:38:05.740Well, let's talk about the polls then.
00:38:08.300You know, at full disclosure, I support the Democrats.
00:38:11.160The only political party I helped out was doing that a few days ago in the States.
00:38:14.980She was ahead at the point I was doing that, knocking on doors for her.
00:38:20.400It's not looking so good this morning.
00:38:22.220So can you summarize for folks where it is at?
00:38:26.160So I'm using RealClearPolitics this week because they've got an interesting feature.
00:38:31.320They tell you what the average is now, but they also tell you what the average was on this date in 2016 and 2020.
00:38:38.300So right now, Harris is ahead nationally, and we know national polls mean diddly squat.
00:39:32.740So Siena is the one I pay attention to because Silver and Combe and the others consider, the aggregators consider Siena, which is the New York Times pollster, most accurate.
00:39:44.820And they've got the probability now, because of what Siena is saying, of Trump winning in the 60s.
00:40:16.720Debate prep always takes a lot of time.
00:40:19.520Even in our truncated campaigns, you get a couple of down days for leaders to go do debate prep.
00:40:25.500I don't know, because speaking off the cuff is not her strength.
00:40:33.920She can do well at times, but sometimes just throws out the ultimate word salad to the point where you're staring at the screen saying, I have no idea what you're even trying to say.
00:40:47.480You know, sometimes you can listen to a politician and they get lost, but you know where they're trying to get to?
00:40:54.360And with her, when she does lose it, it's, you have zero clue.
00:41:00.280So if she ends up with a couple of moments like that, or to go very badly, if Trump looks like a bully, that could go very badly.
00:41:09.280Although we know that doesn't matter to his base, but swing voters matter.
00:41:13.960But watch this, because I think I've said to you before, I think the Trump's collection of the Island of Misfit Toys has been helping him.
00:41:29.380And so he's got RFK Jr. out there campaigning for him.
00:41:34.500He's got Tulsi Gabbard campaigning for him.
00:41:38.400He's got a bunch of people who have small but powerful and loyal followings who are out there doing a secondary tour.
00:41:49.200And now you've got Tulsi, or Tulsi, Tucker Carlson.
00:42:06.800And the Democrats are saying, yeah, but Dick Cheney just endorsed Kamala.
00:42:10.740That's going to turn off a lot of Democrats and independents, saying Dick Cheney is on our side.
00:42:18.960But I think that this secondary tour of all these people with small but loyal followings, I think that's what's pushing the needle, just that little tiny bit.
00:42:28.740I think it's having a big effect because you've got people who are into health and they're natural health products people.
00:42:39.120These are devoted people to their causes.
