00:14:55.620And I was quite taken with Andrew Coyne's latest article about the current status and potential fate of the NDP.
00:15:03.720And I knew some of what he was talking about and agreed with it and engaged in you in it.
00:15:12.620And there was a few things that came up in the article that were quite startling.
00:15:15.540But all it's to say is that I don't even recognize what the NDP party is anymore.
00:15:21.700I don't actually understand what they are trying to do as a party, what they represent, what their end, or I shouldn't say what their end game is, but what their downstream thinking is.
00:15:36.360I guess if I just want to be quite terse about it, I just find them rather annoying and disappointing.
00:17:03.400I mean, between the two of us, some people might be surprised.
00:17:06.920I am probably the more conservative between us, but certainly, even with that, I hesitate to say conservative because, again, I very much identify as a moderate.
00:17:20.440I just think everyone has some potentially good stuff on both sides.
00:17:25.680In the case of Polyev, though, he's just – I think he got a little too close to the sun, and it bitch slapped him, and I don't think there's any return for him.
00:17:44.060I imagine he's potentially buttering up that third-degree burn from said sun, but he's probably doing it somewhere very nice.
00:17:54.880And maybe could care less about his future in the conservative party, but I don't think they have a great chance, as I potentially know what your follow-up question is going to be, but I don't think they have a great chance at building back with him as their leader.
00:18:16.740I think he's particularly unlikable, and if we're just looking at politics on face value,
00:18:23.800some people just base their voting style on, is he likable?
00:18:29.040And he's not, particularly with women.
00:18:32.300I mean, I found him somewhat entertaining from time to time.
00:18:35.700He was a bit gruff, but even that I thought was perhaps a bit performative.
00:18:41.480But, I mean, you believe in redemption.
00:18:59.980Honestly, I have my thought with this is that his ego may disable his ability to potentially reform bits of his personality.
00:19:13.780But I think much like I have some noted disdain to where the NDP party has brought itself or drug itself so far to the left.
00:19:28.320Unfortunately, I think he represents a good portion of the antithesis of that, which is the far right.
00:19:37.740And he's just not closer to the he's not as close to the center to me.
00:19:42.800And my hope is that the majority of Canadian voters will be a little bit exhausted, exhausted by the far, far left nonsense and the far, far right nonsense.
00:19:54.280And realize that those two groups are meeting at the top of the crazy rainbow.
00:19:59.440And they're both acting the same way, which is not pleasant and counterproductive and not good for the country.
00:20:06.240And most people still start looking more to the center.
00:20:09.620And we need people more like Carney, who is, in fact, very much a liberal, but he pulls a little bit more center left.
00:20:21.120Well, let me interject with a question then.
00:20:25.600You've been making very positive noises about Carney.
00:20:29.260I don't know if you voted for him or not.
00:21:05.500First of all, I never said bee's knees.
00:21:09.200And, I mean, I certainly haven't been sitting around mooning over the guy.
00:21:14.740But there's been some shit that he's done where I was like, for God's sake, like, can we just have somebody run the 100 meter for a solid week without pissing me off somehow?
00:21:26.700But all in all, I think he is doing okay.
00:21:30.000I would like him to voice a few people out.
00:21:40.480Get, you know, if you're bringing something new in, even if that's a fresh idea, maybe get rid of some of the old chaff and some of the old bad idea people that might have been there.
00:21:51.180So, and I know he's done some of that.
00:21:53.660But I think the thing I'm paying most attention to him with is trade at the moment.
00:22:01.060And from even before he was elected, my hope is that we would be pushing farther to trade negotiations with the EU.
00:23:56.600Well, E, thank you for providing more syllables and a smarter analysis of the three main political choices on offer in Canadian politics these days.
00:24:09.680I think the majority of people would agree with you.
00:24:11.940Although, you know, most of the time they agree with me.
00:24:14.260So, you know, it's your moment in the sun, as it were.
