00:00:00.000 You know, it's funny the sort of facts you learn as you get older.
00:00:06.000 For instance, did you know there's a Le Canada in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles?
00:00:13.000 Because this little girl spent about a week and a half bouncing back and forth between Las Vegas and Los Angeles
00:00:21.000 because nobody realized that Canada was a country outside of the United States.
00:00:27.000 As I Walk These Broken Roads, my first novel, and I finally have it about a week after some of the early buyers have it.
00:00:40.000 It's very exciting. It's a very good feeling that's finally in print and in my home.
00:00:49.000 It's a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel about a soldier and a mechanic in a broken world where people have forgotten how technology works,
00:01:00.000 where people have forgotten the purpose of civilization.
00:01:04.000 It's about brotherhood. It's about masculinity. It's about war. It's about philosophy.
00:01:10.000 But I'm not doing this video to talk about the book.
00:01:15.000 If you'd like to know a little bit more, down below, the first review of the novel has come out by a guy who blogs at Koanic Soul.
00:01:25.000 I think a lot of you will find his blog very interesting.
00:01:30.000 But if nothing else, you have a review of the book down there.
00:01:33.000 The reason I'm doing this video is to ask you guys a favor.
00:01:41.000 See, I want to do an author video for this book, talking about the book, answering the sort of questions people have.
00:01:49.000 But as egotistical as I am, I'm actually not that arrogant.
00:01:55.000 I'm not that narcissistic or sociopathic. And narcissists and sociopaths make the best salesmen.
00:02:03.000 I can be a very good salesman for other people. I can be very good at marketing for other people.
00:02:07.000 But when it comes to myself, I prefer to put up or shut up.
00:02:14.000 I don't like talking smack. That's not in my nature.
00:02:18.000 But when you're trying to sell something, that's exactly what you need to do.
00:02:21.000 Which is why I can be a good salesman for other people.
00:02:25.000 It's because I can promote what they're doing. I can love them for what they're doing.
00:02:29.000 And show their best face.
00:02:33.000 So, my request for you guys is to give me a Q&A.
00:02:41.000 You know a bit about the book already. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi.
00:02:47.000 It's a story first and ideology second.
00:02:53.000 It is not Atlas Shrugged. It's not even The Last Centurion by John Ringo.
00:03:00.000 Which, if you haven't read it, it's free online. Google it.
00:03:03.000 Great book. It's essentially a right-wing hate speech wrapped up in a very thin narrative plot.
00:03:09.000 A lot of fun. I like that book.
00:03:13.000 This is a book, primarily. It's about characters. It's about people. It's about humanity.
00:03:23.000 So, give me a Q&A. Give me questions you have about the book. About anything about it.
00:03:33.000 So I can read through these questions, distill them down to a few basic points.
00:03:39.000 And I can make an author video to toss up on Amazon about that.
00:03:45.000 A video that people will find interesting answering the questions that they have about the book.
00:03:52.000 And if you're asking anything really specific or political, I'll probably just answer it in the comments.
00:04:01.000 But hopefully some of you have some broad questions that could give me a really good impetus to make a solid author video about this.
00:04:11.000 So, that's a favor I'm asking for you guys.
00:04:15.000 Bunch of links down below.
00:04:19.000 We're reading out.
