Candace Taylor is a former Georgia Governor and former U.S. Senate candidate who ran against Republican Brian Kemp in the 2018 election. In this episode, Candace shares her story of how she became the first woman to ever run against a sitting governor and how she beat a man who is now running against President Trump.
00:01:35.000I ran for State GOP Chair, First District Chair.
00:01:43.000I'm actually over 15 counties in Georgia.
00:01:46.000So I'm on the Executive Committee, which I thank God made that happen because I now am getting a vote for our electors so I can help them be funded for their We just had Derek Evans on prior to you and I ran for Congress as well.
00:02:17.000What was your experience like in Georgia with the GOP establishment, with this good old boys club, and speaking out like you did so vocally about voter fraud in a state with a Republican establishment-led government that doesn't believe in voter fraud?
00:02:35.000One hundred percent, I accomplished a lot in Georgia.
00:02:38.000When I first started plowing this through, they were looking at me like I had three heads.
00:03:54.000But that's what happened the whole night.
00:03:56.000And then I did affidavits of voters that voted for me and I had We have precincts all over the state where I had no votes, but I had people sign an affidavit that voted for me in that precinct.
00:05:28.000So you were the America first candidate.
00:05:30.000What kind of support Did you receive in Georgia from other Georgia Republicans who claim that they are MAGA and American First, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example?
00:05:39.000I mean, did she support your race at all?
00:06:20.000I didn't because I wasn't going to be like her.
00:06:23.000Yeah, but you know, I think it's really important that we don't allow for our movement to be taken over by people, you know, who are falsely using President Trump's name in order to run under the banner of America First and MAGA and told, right, she promised the voters of Georgia that she was going to go to Washington,
00:06:39.000D.C. and that she was going to fight the swamp.
00:06:42.000She said that she was not going to support Kevin McCarthy and then she ended up supporting Kevin McCarthy.
00:06:49.000I think that your policies are more aligned with the MAGA America First base.
00:06:52.000I mean, clearly, you know, Brian Kemp just came out and attacked Donald Trump the other day when he was indicted out of Fulton County.
00:06:58.000Governor Kemp just signed a bill recently that gives the governor of Georgia, which he is, the authority to remove district attorneys, and he doesn't want to remove Fannie Willis, even though...
00:07:06.000She campaigned, her entire campaign message in Fulton County was about getting Trump, right?
00:07:10.000Getting Trump and going after Donald Trump.
00:07:12.000So I think it's important for people to see who these people really are.
00:07:17.000And I have a very similar situation to you, right?
00:07:20.000We were friends and then, you know, she had said, oh, we've got to get you elected to Congress so you can fight with me.
00:08:01.000She went into this long thing about, as a voter, I think we should use the machines we have, the system we have to the best of our ability, and we should turn out the vote.
00:08:24.000Yeah, and CHL people should be speaking out about what's going on in Georgia, especially because they tried using lawfare to keep her off the ballot.
00:08:31.000It's the same thing they're going to try to do to Donald Trump, and yet you would expect somebody who calls himself a Trump ally in Georgia to be trying to organize a massive rally in Fulton County in front of the courthouse.
00:08:42.000Or just come out and go off on Brian Kemp and say, why are you calling 2020 the most securest election of all time?
00:08:49.000So when you got this text message, was it like a threatening message or was it nice or what was the tone of it or was it, if you don't mind sharing?
00:10:06.000But, one thing we did, Laura, is we took over the GOP. So, from the Senate race to the Governor race to now, we have taken over my volunteers, because I had tens of thousands of them, We took over seats in the counties all over.
00:10:21.000We took over all the top seats of the whole state.
00:10:26.000Now, there's a couple that I think were Purdue supporters, but I'm telling you, we have all new people.
00:10:31.000And it's because the people won't know.
00:11:28.000He has until the 25th to surrender, so we'll see what happens.
00:11:32.000But I'm planning on going to Georgia and I'd love to see you there and I'm going to be there in front of the courthouse and hopefully have a bunch of people there to rally and support of President Trump.
00:11:42.000And it's funny that you come to Georgia, but other people in Georgia say nothing.
00:11:46.000Well, you know, I even chased Brad Raffensperger in D.C., right?
00:12:02.000That's the one thing about her I don't get, is why isn't she calling out Raffensperger?
00:12:05.000Brian Kemp says that there's no such thing as voter fraud and that there's no voter fraud in Georgia.
00:12:09.000Well, why did he sign a bill banning Zuckerbuck's then?
00:12:12.000They signed the bill in Georgia that was put forth by the Republican legislature because they recognized that there was fraud in Georgia that was funded by Mark Zuckerberg and the Zuckerbuck's.
00:12:22.000So how can Brian Kemp say that there's no fraud in Georgia when he...
00:12:27.000He signed the bill that banned them from using Zuckerbucks, but then he doesn't do anything to enforce it.
00:12:32.000He signs the bill in May, and then a few days later, Brad Raffensperger and his lawyer go to the spy museum in Washington, D.C., which is paid for by Zuckerbucks and Soros.
00:12:44.000And now he's going to be reimbursed, right?
00:12:46.000The taxpayers are paying for their Secretary of State to fly out to this conference.
00:13:59.000I think that more Republicans, and I spoke about this today, we need to start calling out more Republicans and we need to expose them because...
00:15:16.000And that's why you had people like Brian Kemp and people like Brad Raffensperger recently at the Spine Museum on a panel with Jamie Raskin, right?
