In this episode of the YouMugClub Only show, host Alex Blumberg talks about the recent verdict in the Michael Bloomberg trial, and why he should have been convicted. He also talks about why the left is so gleeful about the outcome, and what we can do about it.
00:00:29.000Now what you're watching is by no stretch of the imagination a grassroots or organic social movement.
00:00:38.000It's a fake revolution that's been organized from the top down, tied together by dark money, connecting not only shady activists, but multinational NGOs, state actors, and actual terrorists.
00:00:59.000Students at Columbia Campus set up what they call the Gaza Solidarity Encampment.
00:01:04.000The next morning, NYPD officers arrest 120 protesters and clear the encampment from the campus.
00:01:13.000However, this intervention by the police does not mark the end of the protests, but the beginning.
00:01:20.000of a radical, violent, anti-Israel, and more importantly, anti-American movement
00:01:26.000that will sweep college campuses from New York City to Los Angeles.
00:01:30.000All of this in the name of divestment from a bunch of kids who largely couldn't point
00:01:40.000out the Jordan River or the Mediterranean Sea if their lives depended on it.
00:02:33.000Normally we are here with YouMugClub only, but obviously there's some things that have happened that make that That schedule changed just a little bit.
00:02:43.000I normally host the Friday shows when I have an opportunity to.
00:02:46.000Steven's out on a planned vacation right now.
00:02:48.000I know he's chomping at the bit probably to be able to get here and do something about this because I think a lot of you probably felt like I felt last night.
00:03:00.000Um, when you heard the verdict read, when people started reporting on it.
00:03:05.000Um, there are a few days in life where you remember very, very, very clearly where you were, what you were doing, who was with you, details about what was going on around you that you don't remember on most days.
00:03:44.000I forced myself to watch what the left was saying about this, so CNN, MSNBC, Twitter, X. I hated That every time I saw somebody talking and gloating about this conviction, they tried to hide it.
00:03:59.000They tried to hide the fact that they were absolutely thrilled that democracy was dying.
00:04:32.000But not telling you that he actually broke any laws.
00:04:39.000I don't know of another time that that has happened.
00:04:43.000I can't think of another opportunity that they would have had to do this in history where they could take somebody to court and not have any crime.
00:04:54.000And yet a conviction comes, not only that a unanimous conviction.
00:04:58.000We're going to dive into some of the details of the case and what's going on.
00:05:55.000Today is the last day of Military Appreciation Month.
00:05:58.000The promo code MILITARY gets you $10 off your Mug Club membership.
00:06:02.00010% of the proceeds will be donated to military charities.
00:06:05.000You do not need to be in the military or have been in the military to use the promo code for this specific month, but today is the last day.
00:06:12.000This is a perfect opportunity for you guys to join the fight with us.
00:06:24.000We are pushing all of the money that we are getting right now into gearing up for this election so that we can bring you the truth.
00:06:35.000Some of the people in this studio, who I'll get to in just one second, are working tirelessly to make sure you don't have to go through the mainstream media anymore.
00:06:43.000To get information on what's going on in polling.
00:06:45.000To get information on what's going on live on election night.
00:06:49.000To get you the information that you need to know.
00:06:51.000Talking with people on the streets of Detroit.
00:06:53.000We'll talk about that probably next week or the week after.
00:08:36.000A lot of people went to Axe last night and told us exactly how they felt.
00:08:40.000I think there's a lot of good responses, and I think there's also some very Potentially difficult responses to deal with.
00:08:49.000We'll get to that in just a second, but before we do, when you hear this music... You know that Layin' the Brain Gingersnap is sitting in my chair!
00:11:46.000I was just done getting this sick fade.
00:11:52.000I just downloaded the WFAA app because we're getting all these storms and so I got a push notification, pulled it out from underneath the little rope thing, and I was like, huh, okay.
00:12:01.000I expected it to happen, I completely expected it, but I kind of also It was still surreal to see it.
00:12:06.000It's like, oh, okay, I guess we're here.
00:12:11.000I guess I was a little daft, according to Toolman, because I still held out hope that juror number two, because theoretically they got their news from X and from Truth Social, that they would hold the line.
00:12:23.000Well, I read if all the jurors didn't unanimously find him not guilty, he was guilty.
00:12:37.000Obviously, late yesterday afternoon on Thursday, President Trump was found Guilty of 34 charges of falsifying business records.
00:12:48.000The former president of the United States, now a convicted felon, having been found guilty of 34 felony charges by a jury of his peers in Manhattan, New York.
00:12:59.000The mood changed entirely inside the courtroom.
00:13:02.000Trump had been laughing with his lawyer, Todd Blanche.
00:14:11.000I won't pay that lady some hush money.
00:14:13.000I'll spank you with a magazine, Mr. President.
00:14:16.000That was one of the claims in the thing from Stormy Daniels.
00:14:20.000I watched some people, and look, I didn't really plan on talking about this, but I watched people last night on CNN and I talked to my wife and I said, hey, she's like, hey, let's watch the news.
00:14:30.000I just found out about this and I was like, like, oh, okay, cool. We're doing dinner. We typically try
00:14:33.000not to watch TV during dinner. This is kind of a momentous occasion and our kids
00:14:36.000are like, hey, what's going on? And we're like, oh, this is a very, very
00:14:38.000important event. We'll tell you later on in life and you'll remember. But right
00:14:42.000now you won't understand what's going on. And so she goes to turn on Fox
00:14:46.000because she gets angry when she watches CNN for good reason. We have to do
00:14:50.000it. So like We've kind of had our training in it, and so we're kind of immune to some of the anger that comes.
00:14:55.000I'm like, I need to know what they're saying.
00:14:57.000And one of the things that they were saying is, like, Stormy Daniels was so brave.
00:15:01.000Is this vindication for Stormy Daniels?
00:15:44.000It didn't have anything to do with this case other than there was this thing with money potentially being written incorrectly into the expenses.
00:16:03.000Yes, so what will happen is that Donald Trump will have to report to probation and probation will prepare what's called a pre-sentencing report.
00:16:10.000I don't know if this is Trump to respond.
00:18:48.000It is time to not hide the fact that you are a supporter of President Donald Trump.
00:18:54.000But it's more than just supporting Trump, because he's the figure of this larger movement that is against this regime that wants to destroy the American way of life.
00:19:03.000They want to destroy our systems and norms, and if I have to hear them say, we're protecting democracy, democracy's on the ballot, shut the hell up.
00:19:11.000You've proven that you have no regard for the institution of the American Republic.
00:19:17.000You're not just saying I support Trump because a lot of you out there rightfully so have some issues morally with Trump and on certain things that he does and says that piss you off that you don't like.
00:19:41.000He is just the person, and he said this before, they're trying to get to you, but they're coming after me because I'm in the way of getting to you.
00:21:38.000This is something that a lot of people missed, including myself early on in this deal.
00:21:42.000The crime of falsifying business records is a misdemeanor that has a two-year statute of limitations.
00:21:49.000For those of you not familiar with that, it means you can't be charged with a crime after two years of committing the crime of falsifying business records.
00:22:43.000So Bragg had to elevate it to a felony because the clock ran out on those misdemeanor charges, like we said, two-year statute of limitations.
00:22:50.000The five-year statute of limitation for felonies didn't expire because it was paused during COVID.
00:23:00.000And while Trump was out of the state of New York, convenient, Does that sound like justice to you?
00:23:06.000OK, let's assume that Donald Trump falsified business records.
00:23:50.000It's almost like creating a new law so someone can sue Donald Trump for... It sounds a lot like E. Jean Carroll to me.
00:23:58.000Where they changed that statute of limitations so that they could charge Donald Trump.
00:24:01.000It's just a special case, don't worry everybody else, they're not going to do it to you.
00:24:05.000The Southern District of New York federal prosecutors, federal prosecutors, never charge Trump for campaign related crimes.
00:24:15.000Bragg himself never charged Trump with any New York state election law violations, which is what they were basically leaning on, saying that he influenced an election.
00:24:30.000They're saying no, he did it in the state.
00:24:32.000That crime, that charge, was never brought.
00:24:37.000The jurors never even told what that was. Never even given any indication that a crime
00:24:45.000had been committed other than the prosecution saying it had been committed. Is there any
00:24:51.000other example in our country, in our history, of somebody being able to do that?
00:24:59.000It rested all on that potential crime.
00:25:05.000And the only thing they had to do is say that it had been committed without giving details of what the crime was, without bringing the charges themselves.
00:25:14.000That is the only way they were able to do to Donald Trump what you guys just saw them do.
00:25:28.000Or does that sound like we will do anything we have to do to nail Donald Trump because we don't like him and he's kicking our butts in the polls?
00:25:36.000By the way, Bragg ran on getting Donald Trump.
00:26:03.000Well, I feel like you're saying, you're expressing emotions for me in a different way, and I appreciate that because you're giving voice to my inner frustration.
00:26:24.000You should be my anger translator today because I am frustrated.
00:26:27.000So look, by the way, the word election doesn't even appear anywhere in Bragg's indictment of Donald Trump.
00:26:33.000Look, there are a lot of arguments that we can get into over unfair treatment for Donald Trump in the media with Russiagate, with the peeing on prostitutes, with the fine people on both sides.
00:26:51.000Is there anybody out there right now who can honestly hold the opinion that this is the normal course of business for a prosecutor in New York?
00:27:00.000Well, it's not the normal course for Alvin Bragg, just like we were talking before.
00:27:04.000He does everything he can to plead down felonies.
00:29:10.000So Judge Merchant's instruction to the jury, by the way, gave the jury a way around all of this by allowing them to just assume Trump committed some underlying crime.
00:29:22.000Although you must conclude unanimously that the defendant conspired to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means, you need not be unanimous as to what those unlawful means were.
00:29:35.000So, you don't even need to know what the crime was.
00:29:39.000Now there are three possible crimes that they could have said he violated, though they did not do that.
00:29:44.000Violations of federal campaign finance law would be one.
00:29:55.000Falsifying other business records such as paperwork used to establish the bank account used to pay Stormy Daniels, bank records, and tax forms.
00:30:01.000I don't think they falsified any business records there.
00:30:06.000Violation of city, state, and federal tax laws, including by providing false or fraudulent information on tax returns, even if it does not result in underpayment of taxes.
00:30:18.000I just, at this point, guys, are you seeing what's going on here?
00:30:22.000So this is what Tim was talking about.
00:30:23.000They didn't have to be, they could, they, there's three crimes, maybe four agree that it was this crime, maybe four think it was this crime, maybe three think it was this crime.
00:30:31.000It doesn't, there needs to be no unanimity between the jurors, just something probably happened.
00:32:09.000They look at the Supreme Court, which is probably where this thing is headed as quickly as humanly possible, and they say, I don't like the process that we've gone through.
00:32:18.000I want to add more justices so that I can get my ruling.
00:32:25.000And I'm not talking about the system that you and I love.
00:32:28.000I'm not talking about the Democratic Republic that we have fought and died for over the years to make sure that we have the freedom to speak, to make sure that we have the freedom to protect ourselves, to make sure that we have the freedom to not be arrested and thrown in jail on trumped-up charges.
00:32:44.000It's time to tear whatever they've built on top of that Down so that we can get back to that system.
00:32:51.000Just so you know, this wasn't an accident.
00:32:53.000The judge actually prevented Trump and his team from bringing expert witnesses to rebut any and all of the predicate crimes to the jury.
00:33:04.000They would have probably argued against all of them because they didn't know which one they were being asked to argue against because nobody ever said it.
00:34:57.000Two, Joe Biden's doing extremely well amongst college-educated whites and seniors.
00:35:02.000And three, people point out the fact that Joe Biden is underperforming with non-white voters and I don't think there's any secret that those numbers are only going to rise.
00:35:43.000I'll get to some polling numbers in just a minute.
00:35:45.000If a Democrat is touting that they're doing well with any sort of white demographic, especially seniors, they're boned.
00:35:55.000Lane likes to put a fine point on things.
00:35:59.000So we'll go back to this in just a second.
00:36:00.000So what they were showing was the effect of the conviction on people's votes.
00:36:05.000I think the polling was taken beforehand saying, if he is convicted of a felony, would it make you more likely, less likely, or would it make no difference?
00:36:13.000The vast majority of people said no difference, and more likely and less likely were very close to the same.
00:36:25.000Now, I think the outcome of this is yet to be determined because the sentencing is coming up on July 11th, and we'll get to that in just a second.
00:36:31.000But again, join us in Mug Club to fight like hell.
00:36:34.000We'll be covering Donald Trump's speech here in about 15 minutes.
00:36:37.000I'll have to run through some of this stuff.
00:37:27.000I've seen that he could spend up to 20 years in jail.
00:37:31.000So what we have is, and what a lot of people have been talking about, but CNN has had this up this morning, up to 20 years potentially in prison, that he faces up to four years in prison.
00:37:39.000And there are a number of other penalties.
00:37:42.000But before we go to this clip, I just want you to understand, most people aren't talking about this because they want to show jail.
00:37:47.000They want to say Trump could end up in jail, jail, jail, jail, jail, right?
00:37:50.000I have an opinion about that, and we all do.
00:38:01.000Yes, so what will happen is that Donald Trump will have to report to probation, and probation will prepare what's called a pre-sentencing report, where they take certain information, and this is something they do in every case before sentencing, certain information about him, including whether or not he expresses remorse.
00:39:50.000I love the idea of, like, just the media coverage of him next to a bunch of murderers on the side of the highway and he's like, I'm cleaning up America!
00:39:59.000It's just a big campaign ad for him, like, awesome!
00:40:02.000Put him in an orange jumpsuit and put him on the side of a highway, please!
00:40:05.000This highway was adopted by inmate number 42736, Donald J. Trump.
00:40:11.000If he sponsors the section of highway that he's cleaning up, he's like, I got all the money in the world for it, folks.
00:40:16.000I'm making America great again, one can at a time.
00:40:19.000Community services teaching inner-city kids how to play tennis, you know?
00:40:23.000He's got the art of the deal right there, and he's teaching business.
00:40:27.000I think community service would be a huge win, actually.
00:40:38.000Like, if you get... I mean, if you have to report Friday, you can go out, you know, partying, and Saturday you can't, but you got to go to prison.
00:41:27.000So if he shows remorse, well, then he's admitting that he did something wrong, which they never proved that he did.
00:41:33.000They never even insinuated that he did.
00:41:36.000But if he doesn't show remorse, then they lock him up in Rikers, and so he has to run his campaign from a jail cell with the Secret Service running.
00:43:18.000And this is one of the reasons that I don't necessarily think they're going to put him in prison.
00:43:21.000I think they see the writing on the wall and are like, there is no good outcome from him being in prison right now.
00:43:26.000If he's going to lose the election, let him lose the election without being in jail, and then we'll get him on one of the other charges, potentially, right?
00:43:33.000If they even consider them after he's been defeated, right?
00:47:31.000Hillary Clinton deleted 33,000 personal emails from her private server.
00:47:35.000The FBI said over 17,000 were work-related.
00:47:39.000Yet, FBI Director James Comey said this.
00:47:43.000In this case, given the importance of the matter, I think unusual transparency is in order.
00:47:49.000Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.
00:50:18.000They're taking on big tech in every single possible way they can.
00:50:21.000And they're launching new pieces of technology to make your lives better, your experience better, to make our lives as creators a little bit easier.
