00:00:00.000 How should it affect the liberal disinformation have on Pierre Polyev's failed election campaign?
00:00:04.640 According to one of his candidates, David Brazil, liberal disinformation really hurt Polyev.
00:00:09.600 Let's take a look at that. I saw your comments on VOCM after the election saying that Pierre Polyev
00:00:14.960 was an issue for you at the doors. What exactly were people saying to you and how do you think
00:00:18.880 it affected the race? Well, you know, at the end of the day, you know, people were supportive of me.
00:00:24.000 They didn't really understand what Pierre stood for and some of the policies that the party had.
00:00:29.200 There was a lot of misinformation about who Pierre Polyev is and what he stands for.
00:00:34.000 And I think people believed everything that they had read without fact checking.
00:00:38.400 You know, a number of times I would ask people to fact check what they thought was the real Pierre Polyev.
00:00:44.240 And they'd come back and apologize and realize, you know, this is a committed individual,
00:00:48.640 great leadership skills, committed to this country, committed to his family, wanting to do good for
00:00:53.520 people. But the information, the way it was portrayed, you know, somewhere along the way,
00:00:58.320 somebody dropped a ball and didn't get the real information out about who Pierre Polyev was
00:01:03.360 and what he stood for. And that had an impact with people, particularly in the urban areas
00:01:07.200 and particularly in St. John's East, at least in my election.
00:01:10.240 Well, what was the misinformation, though, Dave Brazel? I mean, he has been the main character
00:01:14.560 in Canadian politics for two and a half years, driving the news agenda. And, you know,
00:01:20.000 no one silenced him. What was it that people didn't seem to get about Pierre Polyev and St. John's East?
00:01:25.280 Well, again, the clarification on that he was, you know, anti-women's rights, that he was anti-LBGDQ
00:01:32.400 plus community, that he was anti-affordable daycare, that he was anti-pharmacare, these type of things
00:01:39.760 versus what was really the discussion around it's one thing if you vote against something,
00:01:44.720 but if there's a rational reason for it, that information didn't get out. I mean,
00:01:48.400 there was discussions in the House of Commons about why, you know, the Conservative Party didn't support
00:01:52.880 certain components or certain pieces of legislation. That never got clarified so people would understand
00:01:58.240 that the Conservatives and Pierre Polyev were supportive of the needs of Canadians. So that
00:02:02.960 didn't get clarified. You know, that's the messaging that I think needs to be reviewed again. And somebody
00:02:08.560 needs to make decisions on how to get their message out and talk about the true issues that were facing
00:02:13.200 Canadians at the time. And explain to them that the Conservative Party was very supportive of what
00:02:17.680 Canadians said were their priorities. You know, and that's what I heard. You know, unfortunately,
00:02:22.400 in a five-week election, it takes a lot of time to clarify every issue and every policy that the
00:02:27.280 leader has spoken to over the last number of years. Now, I saw the effects of this disinformation had
00:02:31.360 while talking to some of my friends in Toronto. A lot of my friends were left-wingers and they told
00:02:35.760 me they didn't vote for Polyev because they felt like he was too similar to Trump. The fact of the matter
00:02:40.640 is that Polyev and Trump are nothing alike, except for being Conservative. And that's just one example.
00:02:46.080 Now, to be fair, Polyev could have done a much better job of separating himself from
00:02:49.520 Donald Trump. Unfortunately for him, a lot of Conservatives in Canada worship Donald Trump.
00:02:54.240 They worship the ground he walks on and they think he can do no wrong. And that made it really
00:02:58.400 hard for Polyev. That put him in a really hard position. There was also disinformation being
00:03:02.640 spread that Polyev is somehow against abortion rights or women's rights. However, that's simply not
00:03:07.520 true and Polyev stated multiple times that he would not move to ban abortion. I also don't understand
00:03:13.360 how this is a left-wing talking point. A lot of the Liberals that spread this disinformation hate men,
00:03:18.800 they're unattractive, and they're unlikely to get pregnant anytime soon. So I don't understand why
00:03:23.680 this is an issue that keeps certain women up at night. I find it curious how accusing Conservatives
00:03:28.240 of being against abortion tends to work quite well. It's definitely an effective propaganda point.
00:03:33.440 Now, from where I'm standing, it looks pretty clear that disinformation did play a large role in
00:03:37.280 Polyev losing the election. I also find it ironic that CBC ran this story even though they were
00:03:42.960 responsible for spreading some of that disinformation. It's funny how that works.
00:03:47.040 But anyway, what do you think? Do you think some of the lies from the left hurt Polyev?
00:03:51.520 Let me know in the comment section. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and share this video with your
00:03:55.520 friends the second you're done watching. It helps grow the channel and it helps boost the algorithm.
00:03:59.920 Let's spread the word. Until next time, have a great night.
