00:00:00.160 Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, he's one step closer to going to federal prison.
00:00:04.880 This isn't sensationalism. This isn't clickbait. This is the real deal right here.
00:00:10.240 Poliev's MP successfully passed a motion in Parliament to take a closer look at Brookfield's finances
00:00:15.500 and investigate allegations of tax evasion.
00:00:18.920 Brookfield has been exposed as Canada's biggest tax dodger.
00:00:22.800 According to expert analysis, Brookfield managed to avoid paying a staggering $6.5 billion in Canadian taxes
00:00:31.600 through the use of offshore tax havens in just five years.
00:00:35.920 As chair of Brookfield, the Prime Minister registered three multi-billion dollar investment funds
00:00:42.160 in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, all to avoid paying taxes in Canada.
00:00:47.120 Funds that the Prime Minister stands to profit from in the way a future bonus pay.
00:00:55.280 Canadians deserve answers about the Prime Minister's use of offshore tax havens.
00:01:00.400 And today, this House will be voting on getting those answers.
00:01:04.400 The question is, will Liberal MPs stand with taxpayers or will they cover for their tax dodging Prime Minister?
00:01:12.660 We'll soon find out.
00:01:13.620 Now, if you weren't aware, tax evasion is a serious crime.
00:01:18.580 And if Carney gets convicted of that, he could be sent to jail.
00:01:21.920 That's not a joke.
00:01:23.320 Now, of course, criminal charges aren't going to be filed anytime soon.
00:01:27.240 However, Poliev and his MPs, they're in the process of making it happen.
00:01:31.400 Put it this way, let's say I don't pay my taxes.
00:01:33.820 What happens?
00:01:34.740 I go to jail.
00:01:35.800 Let's say you, your friend, your grandmother.
00:01:39.160 Any of those people don't pay their taxes.
00:01:40.920 What happens?
00:01:41.800 They go to jail.
00:01:42.520 And it's about time.
00:01:44.340 It's about time that the globalists, the elite, the liberals, they get held to the same standards that everyone else does.
00:01:51.480 That's fair, right?
00:01:52.920 And Poliev and his team, they're trying to make that happen.
00:01:55.960 I want to point out, I have reason to believe I'm being censored on YouTube.
00:01:59.860 The liberals are trying really hard to get rid of me.
00:02:02.460 If you see this part of the video, let me know in the comment section.
00:02:05.400 Give me a like and make sure you're still subscribed.
00:02:08.060 Thank you.
00:02:08.520 However, this wasn't the first time that Carney has faced questions over tax evasion.
00:02:12.740 He was actually grilled on this while he was running for prime minister.
00:02:15.880 Let's take a look at that.
00:02:16.720 Judy Trin, CTV News.
00:02:18.940 Good morning, Mr. Carney.
00:02:20.240 You were at the helm of a company that quite clearly registered much of its business in Bermuda to avoid paying taxes,
00:02:27.700 including, as CTV News reported, registered to an address of a bike shop in Bermuda.
00:02:33.280 You have said that this is the way the world works, and that in the case of pension funds, that leaves more money for pensioners.
00:02:41.300 But in this case, it looks like just plain tax avoidance.
00:02:44.860 This may be a legal practice, and as you say, as the world works, but is it ethical, Mr. Carney?
00:02:51.540 First off, I'm no longer at Brookfield.
00:02:56.240 Secondly, their arrangements follow the rules, including the tax rules of this country, other countries.
00:03:03.600 And thirdly, as you mentioned in your question, that the structure is organized so that Canadian pension funds can get the most benefit for the pensioners,
00:03:14.700 which are teachers, retired first responders, and public servants.
00:03:19.020 I did not really respond to the question as to your opinion as to if it was ethical, but let me follow up on that.
00:03:27.840 You wrote a book, Values.
00:03:30.520 The thesis of that book was that capitalism or markets left to their own devices don't help humanity.
00:03:36.900 For years, your party, the Liberal Party, has promised to stop the practice of tax avoidance that Brookfield and other companies have engaged in.
00:03:46.360 Do you have the tools to do that?
00:03:49.020 You said so.
00:03:50.420 When are you going to release and tell Canadians what those tools are, and when will you implement them?
00:03:56.440 In terms of having a fair tax system in Canada, including for corporate taxation, it's absolutely a priority of my government.
00:04:05.780 If we are re-elected, it would be a priority of our government to ensure that our companies are paying their fair share of taxes,
00:04:15.560 and that above all, that those taxes that are at the resources that are at the disposal of the government,
00:04:23.420 that they're being put in place for the purposes that Canadians want.
00:04:27.980 And today is about making sure that those scarce resources are used to reinforce our culture in an independent CBC Radio Canada
00:04:39.900 that provides vital information in all of our communities, and that helps to build this vibrant culture.
00:04:49.600 And we couldn't be in a better setting, I think, than in Montreal to point to that culture that lives and breathes and is so crucial to our national identity.
00:04:59.980 Thank you.
00:05:00.300 Now this is an excellent example, a rare but excellent example, of the mainstream media actually doing their jobs, holding powerful people accountable.
00:05:09.200 This brave woman, this brave journalist, she disobeyed her marching orders and actually asked Carney a real question.
00:05:15.740 We need more journalists like that.
00:05:17.260 And a summary of what Carney was saying in the video, a translation, if you will, is that Carney wants the rules to apply to everyone, except for him.
00:05:25.800 Rules for thee, not for me.
00:05:28.580 That's how these liberals, these globalists, these elitists, that's how they think.
00:05:32.600 Of course they want the system to work, but they want to be the exception to the rules.
00:05:37.620 The rules don't apply to special people like them, or at least that's the way they see it.
00:05:42.360 And that's the way it's been, because a lot of Canadians put up with it.
00:05:45.840 It looks like Carney learned a lot from watching Justin Trudeau.
00:05:49.480 Now the fact of the matter is that tax evasion is a serious crime, and that's despite anything Carney says on television.
00:05:56.220 It's only a matter of time before people look at his books, figure out what him and his company did wrong, and hold him accountable.
00:06:02.680 Put it like this, mafia bosses always get busted.
00:06:06.340 It just takes a lot of time.
00:06:07.700 Justice is slow, but the righteous always prevail.
00:06:10.960 Even the infamous Jagmeet Singh called Carney out for this during the debates for the last federal election.
00:06:16.840 Let's take a look at that.
00:06:18.020 As Carney, as chair of Brookfield Investments, your company is one of the biggest tax dodgers in Canada.
00:06:23.460 As chair, you approved decisions where Brookfield Investments bought up affordable homes, kicked out the tenants, and jacked up the rates.
00:06:30.920 As prime minister, one of the first things you did was a tax cut that helped out mostly millionaires.
00:06:35.940 And you have a plan to cut services for people.
00:06:40.240 I expect that of Mr. Pierre Polyev and the Conservatives, that's very much a Conservative plan.
00:06:44.960 But my concern is that doesn't sound like what people want for a Liberal leader.
00:06:48.960 So my question to you is, Mr. Carney, whose side are you really on?
00:06:55.080 Thank you.
00:06:55.820 Thank you very much for that question, Mr. Singh.
00:06:59.680 I'm on the side of Canadians.
00:07:01.180 I'm in this for Canadians.
00:07:02.480 I work for Canadians.
00:07:03.360 But your track record doesn't show that, though.
00:07:06.560 Well, I have a track record of public service for this country.
00:07:10.720 Go back to something Mr. Blachet referenced earlier, which is, have I resolved any crisis?
00:07:18.820 We're in Quebec.
00:07:20.220 If you ask anyone in the finance industry, if you ask anyone in government in Quebec in 2008,
00:07:25.340 they'll know that I resolved the biggest crisis in Quebec.
00:07:28.360 We'll do that.
00:07:28.780 In Quebec, yeah.
00:07:29.580 You won't have fun.
00:07:31.460 60 million.
00:07:32.180 But I'm in fairness with Mr. Singh.
00:07:35.600 This is for these two.
00:07:37.040 Yes, I have had a long career in the private sector.
00:07:41.700 I'm proud of that career.
00:07:42.780 I've always acted with integrity.
00:07:45.480 And it brings me with experience that I can apply in this moment of crisis.
00:07:51.380 And you certainly have served the country.
00:07:53.280 But the problem is, who have you served?
00:07:54.940 You've served to benefit those at the very top.
00:07:57.900 You jacked up the price of homes for people living in affordable homes as a strategic decision.
00:08:02.740 You dodged taxes.
00:08:03.700 And then your decisions as a prime minister show you're not prioritizing people, but you're prioritizing big business and billionaires.
00:08:10.720 So what have we done as a government directly?
00:08:14.480 So we've gone directly to workers using all of our proceeds from the tariffs, committing all of them for workers, the workers most affected.
00:08:22.240 But the employment insurance isn't high enough.
00:08:23.660 Unlike others who plan to use them to cut taxes.
00:08:30.540 We are focused on...
00:08:32.380 The amount of the PI is not high enough, though.
00:08:33.480 You have to accept that.
00:08:34.840 Right now, there will be additional programs.
00:08:36.600 I am fully confident that the next government, whatever government is formed, certainly if I'm in the next government, we will make additional programs.
00:08:44.520 But you didn't do that so far, though.
00:08:45.720 Well, I can't.
00:08:46.460 You could have.
00:08:47.040 You couldn't, given that we're in an election.
00:08:50.000 You could have increased the amount, though.
00:08:51.020 May I make a core point here, if I may, which is that when you think about workers here today and people watching at home, particularly younger people, there is an enormous opportunity in the trades, in the skilled trades.
00:09:03.040 We are going to build this country in a way that has not been seen before.
00:09:06.640 We are literally talking about hundreds of thousands, not jobs, but careers in the trades.
00:09:11.160 And that's why we're investing in apprenticeships and mid-careers.
00:09:14.140 But I think people are worried, Mr. Carney, if New Democrats aren't there to force liberals to make sure they remember about people, they will forget.
00:09:19.060 And obviously, Carney didn't like that question.
00:09:21.520 He kicked out low-income tenants.
00:09:23.680 He forced them onto the street.
00:09:25.400 He helped Brookfield evade taxes.
00:09:27.640 And worst of all, he refuses to take any responsibility for that.
00:09:31.860 He refuses to take responsibility for anything.
00:09:35.420 It's typical liberal BS.
00:09:37.440 And this needs to stop.
00:09:38.500 The problem is, people like Carney, they're used to doing what they want and getting away with it.
00:09:42.420 Look at Trudeau.
00:09:43.600 He did whatever the heck he wanted, and he got away with it.
00:09:47.200 And that's another reason why we need Polyev.
00:09:49.980 If Polyev gets into office, and I have every reason to believe he will, he'll start holding these crooked elites, these crooked liberals, to account.
00:09:57.660 Many of the scandals of the Trudeau era should have been involved jail time.
00:10:02.700 I mean, Trudeau broke the criminal code when he took a free vacation from someone with whom he had government business.
00:10:08.720 It's just like it's right there in the criminal code.
00:10:10.800 If the RCMP had been doing its job and not covering up for him, then he would have been criminally charged.
00:10:16.800 And again, he probably violated the criminal code and the SNC-Lavalin scandal.
00:10:23.580 These would normally have led to criminal charges.
00:10:26.280 But, of course, the RCMP covered it all up.
00:10:28.820 And the leadership of the RCMP is, frankly, just despicable when it comes to enforcing laws against the liberal government.
00:10:36.020 But, yeah, I would fire them, and in cases like that, I would report them to the police.
00:10:43.700 That's what should have happened, and it's going to happen.
00:10:46.600 We're going to be at a higher standard.
00:10:48.680 Well, hopefully it doesn't happen that nobody actually puts you in a position.
00:10:52.280 It's not going to happen in our case because we're not going to hire people who are there to rip off the system.
00:10:57.180 Once Polyev gets into office and he snags a majority, hopefully a supermajority, he can fire the police commissioner.
00:11:03.160 He can appoint a trustworthy, loyal public safety commissioner.
00:11:07.980 He can get rid of some of these liberal judges, and then he can get to work fixing the broken, corrupt system and putting some of these bigwigs into jail.
00:11:16.840 And that includes Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney.
00:11:19.900 It's not unforeseeable that within the next few years, both Trudeau and Carney could be in federal prison.
00:11:26.980 I'm not horsing around.
00:11:28.760 I'm not playing games.
00:11:30.260 This could actually happen.
00:11:31.920 So like I always say, have a little bit of patience.
00:11:34.760 Have a little bit of faith.
00:11:36.280 We'll get what we want soon enough.
00:11:38.280 We're going to win, and we're going to win big.
00:11:40.460 Talk to you tomorrow, Patriots.
