00:00:00.000 Conservative Party leader Pierre Polyev just embarrassed liberal politicians on live TV.
00:00:04.660 Now everybody is talking about it.
00:00:06.400 This happened today while Polyev was being interviewed by CPAC on Parliament Hill.
00:00:10.400 Let's take a look.
00:00:11.420 Thanks everyone.
00:00:12.540 Canadians need hope right now.
00:00:14.640 They need hope.
00:00:15.720 You want to sneak by here?
00:00:16.720 Good to see you.
00:00:17.260 This is not hope.
00:00:18.100 This is not hope over here.
00:00:20.440 Oh, look at this.
00:00:21.280 Hard work.
00:00:21.540 We've got a...
00:00:22.320 We're...
00:00:23.160 We're working.
00:00:24.120 We're actually going to work.
00:00:25.580 You better start.
00:00:26.880 You saw that, right?
00:00:28.180 Polyev embarrassed these liberal politicians in the middle of an interview on live television.
00:00:32.380 This demonstrates how Polyev is quick on his feet and fast to respond.
00:00:36.300 However, this whole exchange is even more epic when you watch the full clip in context.
00:00:41.020 Let's take a look at that.
00:00:42.300 Hi, Mr. Polyev.
00:00:43.080 I'm wondering what advice you gave to Mr. Javon for his trip.
00:00:46.900 Les Canadiens ont besoin de l'espoir.
00:00:49.820 L'espoir que la vie peut devenir abordable.
00:00:53.340 Thanks everyone.
00:00:54.720 Canadians need hope right now.
00:00:56.060 They need hope.
00:00:57.960 You want to sneak by here?
00:00:59.000 Good to see you.
00:00:59.520 This is not hope.
00:01:00.380 This is not hope over here.
00:01:02.800 Look at this.
00:01:03.640 Hard work.
00:01:03.880 We've got a...
00:01:04.700 We're...
00:01:05.560 We're working.
00:01:06.540 We're actually going to work.
00:01:08.060 You better start.
00:01:10.020 We've got...
00:01:11.100 This is the group here that have given you the most expensive groceries in the G7.
00:01:16.480 And hopefully they'll work in the opposite direction.
00:01:18.800 People need hope that they can actually afford their lives.
00:01:22.560 Afford to go to the grocery store.
00:01:24.080 Afford to buy homes.
00:01:25.040 Afford to live in Canada once again.
00:01:27.920 So as you saw, a journalist from CPAC approaches Polyev as he walks down the stairs in Parliament.
00:01:33.200 He asks him a question in English.
00:01:35.080 But for some reason, Polyev responds in French.
00:01:37.400 Canada has two official languages, as you know.
00:01:40.100 So federal politicians will often alternate between both languages when they're giving interviews or when they're in the House of Commons.
00:01:46.140 So you notice, just as Polyev is ready to give his English answer, he notices some liberal politicians coming.
00:01:51.940 And then he switches to attack mode and insults them right to their faces.
00:01:55.900 And the funny part is, at the end, they don't even respond.
00:01:59.200 So I'm going to show you this exchange one more time.
00:02:01.200 But I'm going to slow it down and highlight the key parts.
00:02:04.100 Let's watch it again.
00:02:05.040 Before I show you this, I want to remind you I'm being heavily censored on YouTube.
00:02:08.740 If you see this part of the video, let me know in the comment section.
00:02:11.780 Tell me what city you're coming from.
00:02:13.180 Give me a quick like and make sure you're still subscribed.
00:02:16.240 All right, here's the analysis.
00:02:18.160 Hi, Mr. Polyev.
00:02:18.880 I'm wondering what advice you gave to Mr. Geronimo for his trip.
00:02:22.860 Les Canadiens ont besoin de l'espoir.
00:02:25.640 L'espoir que la vie peut devenir abordable.
00:02:29.100 Polyev gets asked a question in English, but responds in French.
00:02:32.240 I'm not sure exactly why he does this.
00:02:34.360 I don't speak French, so we'll skip ahead to the English part.
00:02:37.320 Thanks, everyone.
00:02:38.680 Canadians need hope right now.
00:02:41.080 Let's hear that Polyev has spotted his literal opponents approaching him.
00:02:43.980 His mind quickly shifts to a way to seize the moment and embarrass them.
00:02:48.560 You want to sneak by here?
00:02:49.540 Good to see you.
00:02:50.120 This is not hope.
00:02:51.020 This is not hope.
00:02:51.760 Within a second of seeing his liberal opponents approach, he already had an insult ready.
00:02:56.200 His mind quickly switched from the interview to insulting his opponents on live television.
00:03:00.360 Over here.
00:03:02.240 Oh, look at this.
00:03:03.180 Hard work.
00:03:03.420 We've got a, we're, um...
00:03:05.360 We're working.
00:03:05.920 We've got a...
00:03:06.340 Liberal MP Patty Hagedew responds with, we're working.
00:03:09.740 That's literally the best they could come up with.
00:03:11.640 Actually going to work.
00:03:12.960 You better start.
00:03:14.220 And as you see, within a split second, Polyev has landed the perfect knockout punch.
00:03:18.960 The liberals go dead silent after that.
00:03:21.060 Um, we've got, uh, this is the, these are the group, this is the group here that have
00:03:25.340 given you the most expensive groceries in the G7, uh, and, uh, hopefully they'll work
00:03:29.980 in the opposite direction.
00:03:31.240 People need hope that they can actually afford their lives, afford to go to the grocery store,
00:03:36.460 afford to buy homes, afford to live in Canada once again.
00:03:40.480 So as you see, Polyev keeps insulting them as they walk by and they just stay silent at
00:03:45.020 the end.
00:03:45.680 They don't even have a response.
00:03:47.140 Why?
00:03:47.900 Probably because they know he's right.
00:03:49.260 I love how he switches from interview mode to attack mode, right back to interview mode.
00:03:55.240 Polyev is fast witted.
00:03:57.060 He's very smart and he's actually quite humorous as well.
00:04:00.320 Great combination for a leader.
00:04:02.260 So Polyev continues talking after this and he makes some great points about Carney's promises
00:04:06.720 and how he's failed to live up to pretty much any of them.
00:04:09.900 Listen to this part.
00:04:11.260 Mr. Carney promised change.
00:04:13.160 After a year, uh, we've seen nothing but illusions.
00:04:16.740 Uh, in reality, uh, life is even worse now than when he took office.
00:04:21.720 The illusion was that he would give us affordable groceries.
00:04:24.540 The reality is that he's given us the worst grocery price inflation in the G7.
00:04:28.900 The illusion was that he'd get rid of the carbon tax.
00:04:31.460 The reality is he's brought in another one.
00:04:33.640 The illusion was that he was going to build homes.
00:04:35.520 The reality is that home building is collapsing in G7 in, sorry, in Vancouver and Toronto.
00:04:42.200 And we have the most expensive housing in the G7.
00:04:45.520 The illusion was that he was going to bring safety.
00:04:49.320 The reality is he hasn't changed a single word in the criminal code or gotten rid of a single catch and release liberal law.
00:04:55.000 The illusion was that he was going to build baby built.
00:04:58.500 Remember that?
00:04:59.100 Well, the reality is that even though we gave him exceptional powers in Bill C-5 that he said he needed to build really fast,
00:05:10.000 we gave him that bill in five days, where now seven months later he has not approved a single project using that bill.
00:05:17.220 The illusion was that he was going to open new markets in the world.
00:05:21.280 And there's been lots of photo ops and signing ceremonies, but he's not signed a single new free trade agreement with any country.
00:05:28.660 And in fact, he has not gotten the deal that he promised he would have with the Americans by July 21st.
00:05:35.840 And Polly makes some fantastic points right here.
00:05:38.480 Carney promised lower grocery prices.
00:05:41.020 He promised less crime and he promised less red tape.
00:05:44.380 Instead, all we got is higher grocery prices, more crime, and more bureaucracy.
00:05:50.560 And that's not to mention that Carney failed on his major campaign promise.
00:05:54.040 The main reason that Canadians voted for him, to get a deal with Donald Trump.
00:05:58.200 He promised to get a deal with Donald Trump.
00:06:00.280 He sold himself as this uniquely qualified person to get a deal with Trump.
00:06:04.620 And as you see, there's no deal.
00:06:06.920 And these liberals always use the same playbook.
00:06:08.840 They make a bunch of promises.
00:06:10.680 They fail to deliver.
00:06:11.920 Then they make more promises and get elected again.
00:06:15.400 And the mainstream media has a big hand in this.
00:06:18.040 Carney sold himself as this improved version of Justin Trudeau.
00:06:21.300 And to be fair, he is better than Trudeau.
00:06:24.380 But he's not good enough.
00:06:25.860 He's not the right man for the job.
00:06:27.780 I truly believe that Polly would have been more aggressive with Trump.
00:06:30.500 And he also would have been more aggressive in getting our natural resources out to market.
00:06:34.660 Unfortunately, we don't have Polly have.
00:06:36.700 We have Carney.
00:06:37.780 So that means slow progress and probably no deal with Donald Trump.
00:06:41.260 So in this next exchange, Polly have addresses the fact that one of his MPs is going down
00:06:45.320 to the United States to make a deal with Donald Trump.
00:06:47.880 Then Polly have highlights how he would deal with Trump.
00:06:50.560 Watch this part.
00:06:51.540 Can I ask what advice you gave Mr. Giovanni before his trip to Washington?
00:06:54.580 And who is he leading there?
00:06:55.480 So the advice I've given all of our MPs is you need to fight for jobs in your community.
00:07:02.460 Mr. Giovanni's community has been hit with a massive job loss.
00:07:06.020 1,200 jobs in the auto sector.
00:07:09.180 And he's going to fight for those auto workers, as all of our MPs have been doing.
00:07:13.420 And, you know, Mr. Carney had promised that he would get us a deal by last July.
00:07:20.060 My message to him today is conservatives are here to work with the Prime Minister and with
00:07:26.300 the government to get to knock down these unjust tariffs and fight for our workers, fight for
00:07:32.340 their jobs and fight for our economic independence.
00:07:34.640 The paramount of the conservative membership seems to be, and part of your caucus, seems
00:07:38.660 to be very supportive of Mr. Trump in some ways.
00:07:41.480 Well, I don't think, I think you're reading in assumptions here.
00:07:45.380 How would I deal with it?
00:07:46.820 We need our country to be strong, self-reliant and sovereign, able to stand on its own two feet.
00:07:52.300 Then we can negotiate from a position of strength.
00:07:55.740 For example, we need to rapidly approve a pipeline to the Pacific.
00:07:59.020 That means not announcements or meaningless memorandums, but a permit to get it in the ground.
00:08:06.880 We need to get rid of the capital gains tax on reinvestments in Canada to bring back that
00:08:10.580 half trillion dollars the Liberals have sent south.
00:08:14.300 And then we need to look at the President of the United States in the eye and say that
00:08:18.260 the only way for us to be safe, secure and better off on both sides of the border is to
00:08:24.540 have free and fair reciprocal cross-border trade, combined with both doing our parts
00:08:30.600 to protect our territories in North America.
00:08:34.480 That's the approach that I would take.
00:08:35.840 Now, Polyev has a point.
00:08:37.360 Regardless of how you might feel about Donald Trump, this whole trade war has in fact hurt
00:08:41.620 the Canadian economy.
00:08:43.240 There are many different businesses that have closed up shop and moved down south.
00:08:47.340 And that means that Canadian workers lose their jobs.
00:08:50.280 Like I said earlier, I think Polyev would be more aggressive in getting a deal with Donald Trump.
00:08:53.560 He'd also be more aggressive in getting our natural resources out to market.
00:08:58.120 More natural resource projects equals more jobs.
00:09:01.460 But let's be fair, dealing with Donald Trump is not easy.
00:09:04.380 It's not easy at all.
00:09:06.060 Donald Trump once said that the only way he would drop tariffs on Canada is if we give
00:09:10.320 up our sovereignty and become the 51st state.
00:09:13.000 So needless to say, getting a deal with him would be really tricky.
00:09:16.240 I think it's possible, but it would be tricky.
00:09:18.540 But back to Polyev's point, if we get our natural resources out to market and start making
00:09:23.020 trade deals with Western Europe and East Asia, not only would that boost our economy, but
00:09:28.060 that would make us more resistant to Trump's attacks.
00:09:30.500 And what I understand with Trump is Trump respects strength.
00:09:32.940 He doesn't respect weakness.
00:09:34.300 If you look at how Trump deals with Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin, he respects them.
00:09:39.120 When he deals with us, as you see on TV with Trudeau Carney, he doesn't respect us and
00:09:44.640 he thinks we're a bunch of losers.
00:09:46.420 And quite frankly, I blame them for the Americans having that impression.
00:09:49.860 Like I always say, there's zero doubt in my mind that Polyev will become prime minister
00:09:53.200 one day, and it could happen as early as the summer.
00:09:56.140 I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it could happen.
00:09:58.960 And we shouldn't give up hope.
00:10:00.520 Just hang in there.
00:10:01.720 Have a little bit of patience.
00:10:03.080 Have a little bit of faith.
00:10:04.300 We're still going to win, and we're going to win big.
00:10:06.800 Thanks for tuning in.
00:10:08.020 I love every single one of you.
00:10:10.020 Talk to you tomorrow.
