Mark Slapinski

When Mark Carney equated muslim values with Canadian values, he wasn t joking around, he was not joking at all. I don t have problems with muslims not at all, however I do have a problem when a group of foreigners come to my country and impose their way of life on others, and I don't like that.

00:00:00.480 these are muslim values these are canadian values just when you think things in canada can't get any

00:00:08.640 worse it gets worse and when i say worse i mean a lot worse it has recently been reported that

00:00:15.040 schools in ontario are now banning pork products let's take a look at that imagine receiving an

00:00:21.520 email from your kid's school teacher asking you not to pack pork in their lunches anymore because

00:00:28.000 it has become offensive to some of the children who are in the class some parents are writing emails

00:00:33.440 to the teachers saying that there are canadian kids showing up with bacon and ham in their sandwiches

00:00:39.520 and that's offensive to their religion just just imagine that for a second

00:00:46.160 it's a school not a refugee camp there's an airplane so i guess when mark carney equated muslim values

00:00:52.320 with canadian values he simply wasn't joking around now to be clear i don't have problems

00:00:57.360 with muslims not at all however i do have a problem when a group of foreigners comes to my country 1.00

00:01:02.960 and imposes their way of life on others i don't like that now if you don't like pork that's fine 0.86

00:01:08.720 don't eat it but don't go around telling other people they can't eat pork that's not right if you

00:01:14.160 want to pray five times a day go ahead it's a free country well mostly however you have no right to go

00:01:20.320 around bothering people praying in the middle of the street that's not right now if you want to

00:01:25.200 come to canada as a muslim that's also fine as long as you come here legally however i don't want 1.00

00:01:30.320 to hear muslims complain that canada isn't muslim friendly when they just left a muslim majority

00:01:35.440 country that is not right naturally people are going to call me all sorts of names for saying that

00:01:40.800 but i think what i said makes a lot of sense i'm not saying that muslims are bad or people should

00:01:45.200 hate muslims not at all however i am saying that if muslims are going to come here they need to 1.00

00:01:50.480 assimilate and they need to understand that most canadians are not muslim most canadians are permitted 0.95

00:01:56.720 to eat non-halal food they're permitted to eat bacon they're permitted to eat pork so i don't

00:02:01.840 want to hear complaints about that that's simply not right and it's even worse that our government

00:02:06.240 is kowtowing to these people now this isn't just an ontario problem not at all i was reading

00:02:11.360 recently even in new brunswick the small eastern canada province of new brunswick they now have a

00:02:16.960 school board and that's all they serve is halal meat so if you're a white christian kid you can't

00:02:22.720 get normal food at those schools you pretty much have to eat halal now on top of that kfc canada 0.97

00:02:28.720 has now gone fully halal you can't get a non-halal chicken burger anymore at those restaurants

00:02:34.480 they've bent the knee and they've gone fully halal there's this weird trend with private businesses 0.88

00:02:39.680 government agencies and even school boards literally bending the knee to the muslim minority

00:02:44.880 something i'll never understand but i want to warn people it's a slippery slope what starts as being

00:02:50.320 nice and accommodating could eventually lead to the destruction of western civilization and i'm not

00:02:56.000 joking i think most canadians don't want to get to a point where there's a mosque on every street corner 1.00

00:03:01.040 and kids are learning arabic in school however if we're not careful that's what's going to happen

00:03:06.960 this is a special day and the message of eid resonates in this room across the city

00:03:15.840 and i may say it should resonate with all canadians it's a story that some of us hear with slightly

00:03:24.400 different nomenclature whether the prophet is called ibrahim or abraham ishmael or isaac

00:03:33.440 the lessons and values of eid are the same

00:03:47.200 canada our canada our canada is a diverse country proud home to different languages different beliefs

00:03:55.520 different cultures those are differences that make us unique and make us strong we can pray differently

00:04:08.240 we can gather in different places of worship but all of us come together all of us must come together

00:04:15.280 around the values of eid the values of community of generosity and yes of sacrifice these are muslim values 0.85

00:04:28.160 these are canadian values that's why i want you all to celebrate thanksgiving and enjoy it because next year

00:04:37.200 you might not be able to

00:04:47.600 you
