00:00:00.240 CTV just made a huge mistake. They granted another interview to Pierre Polyev.
00:00:05.680 Let's watch as he gives a masterclass on how to deal with the fake news media.
00:00:09.760 Joining me now is the leader of the official opposition, Pierre Polyev.
00:00:13.720 Pierre, thank you for being here today. I want to get straight to the headlines.
00:00:17.560 Some big headlines. Trump calling off trade talks over the Ford government's ad campaign,
00:00:22.720 of course, featuring Ronald Reagan. Now, when you first read Trump's comments on social media,
00:00:27.960 what was your initial reaction? Well, disappointment, obviously, because, of course,
00:00:34.320 Mark Carney had promised that he would negotiate a win for Canada, that we would have a deal by July
00:00:41.540 21st of 2025, months ago. And, of course, still no win, still no deal. And Mr. Carney's elbows have
00:00:49.840 gone missing. This has forced premiers to run their own campaigns to fill the void that Mark Carney's
00:00:56.460 broken promise has left behind. And I'm thinking about the workers here in Windsor who are out of
00:01:03.280 a job because of Carney's failings on trade. We have the highest unemployment anywhere in Canada
00:01:09.060 of any big city is right here in Windsor, 11%. These are families who don't know how they're going to
00:01:14.660 pay their bills, keep their homes, live their lives. And I want them to know that conservatives are going
00:01:21.200 to fight for them every day, fight for the auto sector, fight for auto workers, fight for Windsor.
00:01:25.480 And as always, Polyev's 110% right. Carney lied to Canadians. He misled his voters. He said he was
00:01:32.460 going to get a deal with Donald Trump, and there's no deal. Carney said he was going to get rid of
00:01:37.680 tariffs. Instead, the tariffs get higher and higher every single day. On top of that, joblessness is
00:01:44.300 skyrocketing. And that's because Canadian corporations can't afford to do business here.
00:01:49.600 The taxes are too high. There's too much red tape. Everything just isn't conducive to making any money
00:01:56.120 and a lot of them are going down south. Something really strange has been happening recently. I
00:02:01.160 noticed my videos aren't getting as much traction as they normally do. So if you see this part, let me
00:02:05.580 know in the comment section and take a second to like and subscribe. Also, if you've already subscribed,
00:02:10.680 make sure you're still subscribed. For some reason, YouTube has been unsubscribing people
00:02:15.180 automatically. I'm not sure why, but it's really strange. Thanks so much. Now let's watch Polyev
00:02:20.960 continue to give the mainstream media some much-deserved love tabs.
00:02:24.460 And you're talking about Ford kind of stepping in. He did respond to Trump's comments today,
00:02:30.160 saying, you know, Canada and the United States are friends, neighbors, allies. President Ronald Reagan
00:02:34.700 knew that we are stronger together. God bless Canada. God bless the United States. You kind of
00:02:39.280 mentioned it. But my question is, what role should provinces and territories play in shaping trade
00:02:43.800 negotiations? Did Ford go too far in this case? I think that what's happening is that premiers are
00:02:49.180 filling the void that Mark Carney has left. I mean, he's broken every single promise he made
00:02:54.940 about trade. Remember, he said, you know, ignore 10 years of liberal housing crisis, the liberal crime
00:03:01.440 crisis, liberal immigration crisis, the liberal cost of living crisis, and vote for me because
00:03:07.000 I'm the only one who can, and I quote, handle Donald Trump. And here we are seven months later,
00:03:15.220 and he hasn't handled Trump. He's back down again and again. American tariffs on Canadian
00:03:21.120 industry have doubled since Mark Carney promised to eliminate those tariffs. So I think the responsibility
00:03:27.440 rests with the national government and its head, and that's the prime minister. And Mark Carney has
00:03:32.820 broken his promise. It has been a liberal bait and switch, and Canadian workers are paying the price.
00:03:39.180 As you said, this has been going on for months and months. Carney responding today that he's ready to
00:03:44.720 negotiate again with the U.S. when they're ready. But is it too late?
00:03:50.340 It's never too late. We have to fight for our country. We need to reopen access to the American
00:03:55.400 market, and that's what conservatives are fighting for. But in the meantime, there's a lot of things we can do
00:03:59.820 at home. For example, let's get rid of this crazy EV mandate that's already killing auto sector jobs.
00:04:05.260 That is a self-inflicted liberal wound, banning the production of internal combustion engines. I mean,
00:04:12.360 here in Windsor, people know better than anywhere. That is ridiculous. And we should get rid of the
00:04:17.260 industrial carbon tax that is rendering all of our industries, steel, aluminum, autos, uncompetitive.
00:04:23.120 Get rid of that tax altogether. Cut tax on work, investment, home building, and energy so that we
00:04:30.160 can unlock the power of our economy. And finally, you know, with unemployment being so high, we have
00:04:35.160 to get rid of the temporary foreign worker program that is displacing our young people who can't get
00:04:40.020 jobs at the local Tim Hortons or Starbucks. Canadian jobs should go to Canadian workers.
00:04:44.360 An excellent answer by Polyev. The mainstream media admit they try so hard to get him to say
00:04:49.460 something stupid, but he always remains calm. He's centered, he's prepared, and he's always ready
00:04:55.780 to push back with cold, hard facts. They simply can't get him to say anything stupid. And the reason
00:05:01.660 they want him to say something stupid is so they can get their clickbait. Also, they can satisfy their
00:05:07.720 liberal masters. But Polyev, he ain't having any of that.
00:05:11.400 Now, all of those points, extremely important, not only to Canadians all over, but here in Windsor,
00:05:16.600 Essex. My last question is, in light of Trump's comments, if you were in this position as Prime
00:05:22.080 Minister, what are the steps you would make next moving forward?
00:05:26.580 First, I would pass the Canadian Sovereignty Act, which will make our economy strong, self-reliant,
00:05:32.020 and sovereign. Here's how it will work. We will cut taxes on work, investment, energy, home building,
00:05:38.800 so that we can unlock the power of our domestic industries. We'll legalize and greenlight rapid
00:05:44.640 construction of pipelines, mines, ports, LNG plants, so that those are all things that are
00:05:49.940 Trump-proof. He can't control what we build in our own country. We will get rid of the industrial
00:05:55.340 carbon tax, quickly approve projects, faster permits, and zero capital gains tax. For anyone who
00:06:03.120 reinvests in Canada, that will bring hundreds of billions of dollars of job-creating investment
00:06:07.880 back to places like Windsor, so that when we sit down with the president, we do so with a position
00:06:13.320 of strength, not the unprecedented economic weakness that Mark Carney has regrettably delivered. So my
00:06:20.260 final message on that is, have hope. Conservatives are going to fight for the workers of Windsor and
00:06:24.760 all of Canada.
00:06:25.340 In the short term, though, how would you approach reaching out to Trump again?
00:06:30.180 Well, again, we need to do it from a position of strength. I think one of the reasons why
00:06:33.760 Mr. Trump wanted to have Carney as prime minister is because Carney's so weak, and he can bulldoze
00:06:38.580 over him, which he's been doing now for the last six months. You need to be in a strong position,
00:06:43.660 make it clear that Canada is able to stand on its own two feet, and that we have other markets we can
00:06:49.020 reach in addition to buying from ourselves. And with that strength, I believe we can negotiate a good
00:06:54.500 deal for Canada.
00:06:55.700 Okay, Mr. Polyev, thank you for joining us. Thank you for your insight, and you're always
00:06:59.300 welcome, of course, here in Windsor.
00:07:00.600 It's great to be back. Thank you very much.
00:07:02.140 That was another brilliant performance by Polyev. CTV, of course, saves all their hard questions for
00:07:07.220 the Conservatives. But Polyev, he's the right guy to handle that kind of stuff. Now, let's watch a
00:07:12.280 recent clip of Polyev in the House of Commons. I think you're going to like this.
00:07:15.880 Foodbanks Canada released its report today, Hunger Count 2025, showing the number of Canadians
00:07:22.240 relying on a food bank has more than doubled since this Liberal government took office.
00:07:26.480 It shows that 39% of the population experienced food insecurity. 82% did not have enough to eat.
00:07:32.620 34% went an entire day without eating. 53% missed a meal to afford something else. 28% went hungry at
00:07:40.740 least once a week. Now the Prime Minister says Canadians will have to make even more sacrifices.
00:07:46.400 How many meals will Canadians have to sacrifice for yet another costly Liberal budget?
00:07:53.040 Honestly, I'm really surprised this guy is not in the Prime Minister's office.
00:07:56.420 He's just too smart, and I wish most Canadians would see that. However, I do have faith he's
00:08:01.380 going to get into office soon. Thanks to all my subscribers and paid members. Thanks to everyone
00:08:06.020 that's liked, shared, supported me in any way. Remember, this is a team effort, and I couldn't
00:08:11.440 do any of this without you. Have a great night. Talk to you tomorrow.
