00:00:00.000
Paulie have completely humiliated Mark Carney today, exposing all of his failed campaign promises.
00:00:05.980
Let's take a look at that together. He said that he would have more investment, invest more,
00:00:11.440
he said. Yet since he became prime minister, $62 billion of net investment has left Canada,
00:00:17.580
almost all of it going to the United States of America in what the National Bank described
00:00:22.700
as the biggest net outflow of investment in any five-month history, period in history.
00:00:30.000
He said he would be elbows up that he was going to handle Donald Trump and negotiate a win by July
00:00:37.860
the 21st. Ever since, he's been elbows down, he has secured no deal, and he has made concession
00:00:45.720
after concession while getting absolutely nothing in return.
00:00:49.640
I truly love how Paulie have wasted no time digging into his political opponent right here.
00:00:54.620
Mark Carney presented himself as this master negotiator, the chosen one to deal with Donald
00:00:59.320
Trump. And all we've gotten is basically nothing. And Donald Trump has made a fool out of Mark Carney
00:01:05.820
and made a fool out of Canadians on the world stage. Canadians continue to pay the price for
00:01:11.540
Mark Carney's ineptitude. But that's just the start. Paulie have a lot more to say about Carney.
00:01:16.600
He said he would build, baby, build. That was a quote. Well, build what? Let's start with national
00:01:25.400
projects. He said he would build at unimaginable speeds. Yet not only is there zero national projects
00:01:33.420
under construction today, six months after he took office. In fact, he has not granted a single permit
00:01:41.040
for a major project to go ahead. He hasn't even published a list of projects he might one day
00:01:47.320
consider expediting for approval. Meanwhile, there are 39 projects that are sitting in the bureaucracy
00:01:56.980
waiting for approval that for which Mark Carney only needs to get out of the way. Carney has to be one of
00:02:04.140
the slowest moving prime ministers we've ever seen. Remember, we're supposed to be in the middle of an
00:02:08.720
emergency. And Carney is supposed to be taking this seriously. But instead, him and all of his MPs are
00:02:14.980
on vacation right now. That doesn't seem right. Usually when you're in the middle of a crisis, you
00:02:20.400
take that seriously. You don't go on vacation. But that's what cowards do. And that's what Mark Carney
00:02:26.580
is doing because he's a coward. Now, if Paulie was in power, he'd be working all throughout the
00:02:31.960
summer. I mean, he did work throughout the summer. Unfortunately, he's just not the prime minister.
00:02:36.160
And yet nothing is getting built. Nothing is getting done. And our economy is collapsing. He
00:02:42.080
said that he would create jobs. Yet since he took office, there are 86,000 fewer people working today
00:02:49.860
than there were when he started off. In fact, unemployment is now the second highest in the G7.
00:02:56.880
And speaking of the G7, he has promised to give the fastest growth in the G7 when in reality he has
00:03:04.420
given an economy that is shrinking fastest in the G7. Again, he promised we'd be growing the fastest in
00:03:11.300
the G7. In reality, we are shrinking the fastest. The single worst economy in the G7 today after six months
00:03:20.880
And Paulie have just nailed Carney again right there. You ever had that feeling maybe sometime
00:03:26.300
in your life that all your friends are doing well? They all have nice cars and nice houses and you
00:03:31.040
don't? That's the way Canada is right now. All of our friends are doing well. All the G7 countries
00:03:37.440
compared to us are doing quite well. We're actually the worst. Right? Something to think about. Carney
00:03:43.540
promised us the best and instead we've gotten the worst. But just wait, it's not over yet. There's still
00:03:48.980
more to come. And of course, nowhere is that more true than in housing. Now we've been talking for
00:03:55.840
years about the liberal housing crisis and they doubled the cost. They priced an entire generation
00:04:00.540
out of homes. They did this through out of control, money printing and immigration, which inflated demand
00:04:08.540
and funding local bureaucracies and high taxes that block construction and supply. That's nothing new.
00:04:16.860
You say, well, of course we have a housing crisis after 10 years of liberals. There's nothing new
00:04:21.680
in that. But I'm here today to talk about the next liberal housing crisis. So this crisis has
00:04:28.620
changed into something new and even worse than there was before. They first inflated the housing bubble
00:04:37.720
bubble. And now liberals are bursting the housing bubble. The bubble is bursting and it is hemorrhaging
00:04:48.680
jobs and construction right across the country. Nowhere worse than here in Ontario. The facts are
00:04:56.240
staggering. First of all, let's start with the promise that he would double home building. Well, according to
00:05:01.520
Mr. Carney's own eight housing agency, home building is expected to plummet by 13% over the next two
00:05:08.560
years. But here in the GTA, year over year, it is down 49%. In Kelowna, it's down 36%. Pre-sales are down
00:05:20.240
48%. And they are 82% below the 10 year average. You talk to home builders in the GTA today, and they
00:05:30.880
will tell you this is the worst they have ever seen it in generations. I've talked to home builders that
00:05:37.680
have been in this business for 50 years, and they say they have never witnessed this kind of carnage in the
00:05:45.040
housing sector. What does this mean? It means that not only will there be a shortage of homes because
00:05:51.040
they're not getting built, but soon there will be mass layoffs. And we're already seeing it. The
00:05:56.480
Canadian home builders say that 35, Canadian home builders associations say that 35% of their members
00:06:04.320
are already laying people off. The residential construction council says that the sector is already
00:06:11.200
laying off thousands of people. And that's happening mostly in the greater Toronto area where
00:06:17.280
unemployment is already facing near record highs. We see nationwide 86,000 fewer people working today
00:06:25.360
than when Mr. Carney took office. And in the summer alone, July and August, we lost 106,000 jobs, a
00:06:34.000
staggering number to give us the second highest unemployment rate in the G7. Here's the crisis
00:06:41.200
that is going to unfold. If these trades workers lose their jobs, we may never get them back.
00:06:48.400
They will have to move to find work. They may leave the housing sector altogether. And then three years
00:06:55.280
from now, the housing shortage will be even worse than it is right now. Mr. Carney has accomplished the
00:07:03.680
economy. It will be impossible. It is a triple crisis with prices too high for buyers to buy, too low for sellers to
00:07:12.720
sell and inadequate for builders to build. How can all those things be true? How is it that it's too high to buy,
00:07:20.080
but too little to bill? Well, the answer is that most of the money is going to government. 30% of the cost of a new home in
00:07:27.760
Ontario today is direct taxes. 50%, as much as 50% is related to land use regulations. In Vancouver
00:07:37.040
today, fully 60% of the cost of a new home is government. Taxes, charges, delays, fees, lawyers,
00:07:45.120
accountants. More money for a new home goes to bureaucrats in government buildings than goes to the
00:07:52.240
carpenters, electricians, and plumbers who actually build the home. Paulie have just dropped a series
00:07:59.120
of truth bombs right there. Home buyers can't afford to buy, sellers can't afford to sell,
00:08:04.800
and people are getting laid off like crazy. Canada used to be a prosperous country where everyone was
00:08:10.240
out making money. They'd be out getting laid and starting families. Now they're all getting laid off.
00:08:16.160
And why is that? Well, there's many reasons for that. But first of all, there's too many immigrants
00:08:20.960
and they're stealing all the jobs from Canadian youth. And on top of that, there's too much
00:08:25.680
bureaucracy. There's too many middlemen trying to approve everything and get a cut out of everything
00:08:31.120
and it's slowing everything down and that needs to stop. But as always, Paulie have a plan.
00:08:36.480
The governments keep talking about how they have these wonderful plans for home building. You know what
00:08:41.360
they need to do? Only one thing. Get out of the way. Get out of the way. These men and women
00:08:50.640
back here, they know how to build homes. They know how to frame a house, to swing a hammer,
00:08:58.720
to lay a foundation, to prepare the land. They know how to build homes. We have great home builders
00:09:05.120
who know how to build homes. The only thing they need is permission. But they can't get it because of
00:09:12.800
slow bureaucracy and blocking things from going ahead. And so today conserves, we're not just going to
00:09:19.360
oppose Mark Carney and Liberal failures. We're not just going to hold them accountable for the
00:09:25.040
Liberal immigration crisis, the Liberal cost of living crisis, the Liberal crime crisis,
00:09:29.840
and the Liberal jobs crisis. We're actually going to propose solutions. As we go back to Parliament,
00:09:34.880
we want Mark Carney and the Liberals to steal our best ideas so that we can reverse the damage that
00:09:40.240
they have done. And so today I join with my shadow Minister of Housing, Scott Aikesson, to call
00:09:48.160
for the Liberals to immediately reverse the policies that have caused this new housing crisis with a
00:09:56.800
four-point plan. One, axe the federal sales tax for all home buyers. I hear someone over here is giving a
00:10:05.280
round of applause. She might be buying a home soon. For all home buyers, not just first-time home buyers,
00:10:11.200
and for homes up to $1.3 million. Two, axe the capital gains tax on any monies reinvested in home
00:10:22.000
building. So if a business or an individual sells an asset, they enjoy a capital gain,
00:10:27.120
but they reinvested in home building, there should be no capital gains tax. This will cause a building
00:10:33.600
boom right across the country. Three, incentivize municipalities to free up land, speed up permits,
00:10:42.320
and cut their own development charges. The Prime Minister claimed that he was going to cut development
00:10:47.760
charges nationwide by half. Since he took office, those charges have actually gone up. I'm calling for
00:10:54.400
the Prime Minister to put the resources in the budget so that we can incentivize municipalities
00:11:01.360
to cut the taxes they charge on building new homes. And fourth, get immigration under control. We can no
00:11:10.400
longer add people three times faster than we add homes. We're going to continue to have shortages.
00:11:16.640
These four steps will reverse the liberal housing hell, the disaster that has destroyed the dream of
00:11:24.320
home ownership over the last 10 years. We are prepared to work with any party that will adopt
00:11:30.320
these common sense ideas so that we can unleash a real building boom in this country that will mean
00:11:36.320
bigger paychecks for our trades workers, our realtors, mortgage brokers, suppliers, all of them will
00:11:43.440
benefit. The much suffering logging industry will have new demand for its products. So will the steel
00:11:50.480
and aluminum producers have a new market right here at home. You know the great thing about home building?
00:11:56.480
It's Trump proof. You can't claim that Donald Trump is to blame for housing that happens here,
00:12:02.960
because he cannot put tariffs on housing that we keep in our own country. It is by definition
00:12:07.760
a home grown industry. So if we're when we're facing a losing trade war with China, with the United States
00:12:17.840
and with others, why not build more here at home? Most of the materials that go in these homes are
00:12:24.000
Canadian materials. We have the land, the labor and the lumber, and there's no foreign government that can
00:12:30.080
tariff the construction of a Canadian home. This should be the number one priority. Get building here.
00:12:37.040
Nobody can stop us from doing it. And that's why we're calling on the government to adopt our plan
00:12:42.800
for a new home building boom right across this country by removing the taxes, the red tape,
00:12:48.480
making this the fastest and easiest place to get approved, to build a home that will be a wonderful
00:12:54.400
refuge for young families starting out, and that will give big, powerful paychecks for our trades
00:12:59.680
workers across this country. And once again, Polyev is right on the money. We have the land,
00:13:05.120
we have the labor and we have the lumber. I love that part right there. And it's true. Canada is
00:13:11.040
literally the second biggest country in the world. So there's no excuse for us not having enough homes
00:13:16.320
for people to live in. That's crazy. Polyev sort of reminds me of this smart kid that would help
00:13:21.280
everyone on their homework. Carney's kind of like the dumb kid that steals the smart kid's homework
00:13:26.320
and then takes credit for it. Just another reason why we need Polyev in office, but just wait,
00:13:31.440
there's even more here. Our purpose is always is stronger, take home pay, safer streets,
00:13:37.200
solid borders in a self-reliant country, a country where hard work pays off with a beautiful home,
00:13:43.920
good meat and potatoes on the, on the dinner table in a secure neighborhood with a wonderful Canadian flag
00:13:51.360
hanging off the front porch. Thank you very much. Now let's get it done. Once again,
00:13:55.520
that was a beautiful press conference. It seems that Polyev is literally hard at work every single day,
00:14:01.200
while Mark Carney is nowhere to be seen. I think he's enjoying every last second of that summer vacation,
00:14:07.360
and he's probably really scared about going back to the House of Commons next week.
00:14:10.960
All right, now it's time to watch Polyev crush some journalists.
00:14:14.800
Michelle Song, CBC News. Mr. Polyev, how is what you are saying today different from the legislation you
00:14:20.400
proposed before the last election? It's, it has a lot in common. I put forward a
00:14:27.760
bill in the House of Commons called the Build Homes and Not Bureaucracy Act, which would incentivize
00:14:33.920
municipalities to speed up permits, free up land and cut development charges. But in addition to that,
00:14:40.480
today I'm proposing to axe the sales tax for all home buyers, not just first time home buyers.
00:14:48.080
Second, to increase the limit to 1.3 million, because unfortunately, in the GTA today, as amazing
00:14:54.960
as it sounds, you can't get the average house for a million dollars. I mean, if I had said that to you
00:15:01.280
10 years ago, you would have, you know, laughed me out of the room. You would have said it would be so
00:15:05.840
ridiculous to spend a million dollars on a middle class home. But after a decade of liberal housing
00:15:10.800
inflation, that's the reality we face. And then we're also calling for axing the federal capital
00:15:17.520
gains tax for anyone who reinvests in home building, or any other reinvestment in Canada.
00:15:24.560
This will cause an incredible boom. It will be like economic rocket fuel. You imagine the number
00:15:29.840
of investors who will sell a dormant asset, knowing they won't have to pay tax on it, as long as they
00:15:36.240
put it to work building houses in communities like this one. That would mean jobs. And by the way,
00:15:42.080
this will help a lot of people. You might be surprised. It's not just big corporations and
00:15:46.560
extremely wealthy investors. A lot of our tradespeople, they buy houses, fix them up, and then
00:15:53.440
resell them as an improved product. They would be able to get out zero capital gains tax, as long as they
00:15:59.760
reinvest in another home to add even more supply. So that is the difference between my original proposal
00:16:07.440
and this new enhanced proposal, because the crisis is much bigger now under Mark Carney than it was
00:16:13.120
under Justin Trudeau. And we as conservatives are here to provide solutions to fix that.
00:16:19.200
Boom. Pauliev just knocked it out of the park right there. It seems that Mark Carney's journalists follow
00:16:24.320
Pauliev around everywhere he goes, trying to make him look stupid. But every single time,
00:16:29.360
he's prepared to answer the question. He stays calm, and he pushes back with facts.
00:16:34.560
Ezra Levant from Rebel News. Thanks for having me. Thank you. Back in May, Gregor Robertson,
00:16:41.360
Mark Carney's housing minister was asked if he wanted the price of housing to come down. And he said no.
00:16:49.360
How do you balance reducing the cost of housing for young families, but also protecting what may be the
00:16:57.680
only nest egg for some seniors and boomers? Where do you draw the balance?
00:17:02.880
Well, how would you like to see pricing actually look for the average home in Toronto or Vancouver?
00:17:11.360
So, first of all, I just think we need to acknowledge that it is incredible that Mark Carney would pick
00:17:16.480
Gregor Robertson as his housing minister. After that, when he was the mayor, Vancouver's housing
00:17:23.760
costs went up by 150%, driven almost entirely by municipal taxes. So the guy who created the worst
00:17:31.920
housing market in North America, forget Canada, by far the most expensive housing market in North
00:17:37.520
America, more expensive than New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago. Carney says that's exactly who we
00:17:44.560
need in charge of housing. Like talk about failing up. So the first thing that would be different is I
00:17:50.720
would have never, never named someone like Gregor Robertson. He is the exact epitome of everything
00:17:57.680
wrong with housing in Canada today. As for your question about balancing, keeping home prices up
00:18:04.800
versus them coming down. Look, the money from a home today does not go to the buyer, the seller or the
00:18:12.640
builder. It goes to the government. We have to, you know, it's like today, right now, the housing costs
00:18:20.800
are too low for builders to build and too high for buyers to buy. And you would say, well, how could it be
00:18:26.400
both of those things? Well, because the lion's share is going to the government. It doesn't go to these
00:18:33.840
guys. The guys who swing the hammers back here, they're not getting the money. The money is going
00:18:38.320
to government bureaucrats, municipally, provincially, and federally. And what I'm saying is let's cut the
00:18:44.480
government costs out of housing, get rid of the sales tax, cut the development charges in half,
00:18:50.400
speed up the permits, zero tax on reinvested gains. If you get the government costs out of building homes,
00:18:58.960
then the buyer, the seller, and the builder will all be winners at the same time. Thank you.
00:19:06.960
That was a great question by Ezra Levand of Rebel News, and of course, a good answer by Polyev.
00:19:11.920
This is what I like. I like that Polyev is allowing non-mainstream media journalists to come to his
00:19:16.080
press conferences. It adds a certain balance that wasn't there before, because you know,
00:19:21.360
you know these liberal politicians would never allow Rebel News to go there.
00:19:25.200
But overall, I think Polyev did a great job today. Some people say, some of my liberal friends say
00:19:30.640
that all Polyev does is complain, complain, complain about the liberals, but he doesn't
00:19:34.880
offer any solutions. That's what they say. But that's simply not true. If any of my friends that
00:19:40.000
are liberals took the time to actually watch his press conferences, and not just the parts that are
00:19:44.640
chopped up and filtered through the mainstream media, they would understand that he's full of
00:19:48.960
solutions. And his solutions are so good, Mark Carney steals all of them. How about that?
00:19:54.720
So for next steps, I'll be live streaming the question period, because people ask me, they said,
00:19:59.120
Mark, can you live stream it, provide commentary and analysis? You want it? I'm going to do it.
00:20:05.360
So this is how it's going to work. I'll be doing the live streams. If you're busy at work, that's great.
00:20:10.240
You can watch the recording after. And of course, I'll take all the best parts and put them into a
00:20:15.200
commentary video later in the day. I also want to add, like I said in my previous video,
00:20:19.680
I'm under heavy attack right now. Most of these attacks are coming from the left. However,
00:20:24.480
there's people on the right that are attacking me too. Believe it or not, there's people on the right
00:20:29.280
that don't like Polyev. There's people that are still aligned with the PPC, or there's right wingers
00:20:34.880
that don't align themselves with any political party. They just want to cause chaos, confusion and
00:20:40.000
anarchy. And both sides are gaining up on me because they get bigger and stronger every day.
00:20:45.920
Recently, I had my phone hacked and a series of crazy messages were sent out and good thing I
00:20:50.800
stopped it as fast as I did. There was still some damage, but I was able to mitigate it pretty fast.
00:20:55.760
Unfortunately, these are the risks that go along with doing what I'm doing. However, this is what I
00:21:00.480
signed up for, and I guess I'm going to have to deal with it. But anyway, that's all I have today.
00:21:05.840
Talk to you tomorrow, and let's continue the conversation in the comment section.
