00:00:00.000 Peter Poliev is giving a speech tomorrow, and the future of his party and his political career
00:00:04.980 hinges on how it goes down. Rarely does the future of a political leader rest on one event.
00:00:10.400 However, this is one of those rare times. Now, despite the fact I started seriously making
00:00:14.760 political videos again around the time of the federal election, which Poliev lost,
00:00:19.120 I always tried to provide hope and optimism to conservatives. There's enough pessimism out there,
00:00:24.460 and I wanted to offer some hope. Due to recent events in the United States this year,
00:00:28.660 it's hard to have hope in the future of the Conservative Party and Poliev. I tried to
00:00:33.160 provide hope, but this year, it's been especially hard. Now, I know a lot of people don't want to
00:00:37.360 hear this, but the fact of the matter is that Poliev and the Conservative Party are in really
00:00:41.320 rough shape right now. The Conservative Party lost three MPs to Carney's liberals, and there's rumors
00:00:47.180 that even more could leave. Now, with Carney, two of his MPs have resigned, and one of them had their
00:00:53.220 victory canceled by the court. Now, they're all having by-elections coming up in the near future.
00:00:58.160 And if the Liberals win all three of those elections, they're in majority territory,
00:01:02.460 and we won't have another federal election until 2029. Now, I want to reiterate, I know that's not
00:01:08.160 what any Poliev fan or Canadian Conservative wants to hear, but that's the reality of the situation.
00:01:14.280 I'm just telling you like it is. Now, contrary to what you might have heard from some of these other
00:01:18.400 political commentators, a lot of Canadians are very angry at Trump. According to polls,
00:01:23.300 around 9 out of 10 Canadians disapprove of Donald Trump. And that was also one of the reasons that
00:01:29.920 Poliev lost the last federal election, and it could be one of the reasons that he's bleeding MPs and
00:01:35.160 falling in the polls. Now, if you follow me on X or you have watched some of my other YouTube videos,
00:01:40.280 you would know that I've been highly critical of Poliev's inability to effectively pivot on Trump
00:01:44.860 and take a harder stance on him. So much so that, I hate to say it, I'm starting to have my doubts
00:01:50.200 about his political future. However, I want to throw out there that there's still a bit of hope,
00:01:55.000 and his speech tomorrow at the Economic Club could turn things around. Let's take a look at that.
00:01:59.680 Conservative Party leader Pierre Poliev is set to unveil a suite of policy proposals
00:02:03.500 meant to address the uncertainty caused by U.S. President Donald Trump's administration,
00:02:07.880 according to a member of his senior staff. Poliev will deliver a speech to business leaders at
00:02:11.800 the Economic Club of Canada in Toronto on Thursday that the organization is building as a
00:02:16.220 vision for Canadian-U.S. relations. Katie Merrifield, Poliev's head of communications,
00:02:21.440 told CBC News that the speech will include new policy proposals that are intended to be realistic
00:02:26.020 and aimed at restoring Canada's leverage in an unstable geopolitical environment.
00:02:30.760 The policies will include an energy and critical mineral strategy and a proposal for a new tariff-free
00:02:35.700 auto pact with the United States. Poliev will also call for new rules that will require companies
00:02:41.060 that shift Canadian intellectual property out of the country to repay taxpayer support they've
00:02:46.140 received. And he will call for the formation of an all-party working group headed this year's
00:02:50.560 Kuzma Review. Now, this does give me a little bit of hope for the future of Poliev's political career.
00:02:56.300 I know taking a stronger stance on Trump might annoy certain people because I've realized that a lot,
00:03:02.280 not all, but a lot of his supporters are Trump fans. However, this may be the only thing he can do
00:03:07.340 right now to regain the support of Canadians. I truly believe that a big part of the reason
00:03:12.180 Poliev is facing problems with this caucus is because of his inability to take a firm stance
00:03:17.320 on Donald Trump. To be honest, I still have my doubts about whether or not Poliev will take a
00:03:22.080 strong enough stance on Trump, or even if he does, whether or not Canadians will accept it at this
00:03:27.160 point. But I still think it's worth a shot. But anyway, if you're a fan of Poliev and you want the
00:03:31.840 Conservative Party to win, you better have your fingers crossed and hope it goes well. And of course,
00:03:37.100 I'll be back tomorrow with a follow-up video on how it went. Talk to you soon, Patriots.
