Supreme Court of Canada sided against the Liberal Government in the Terrebonne, Quebec riding. Elections Canada says the results in that riding are invalid and a new election must be called. I discuss why this is bad news for the Liberals and why they need to call another election. I also talk about why I still think Justin Trudeau is the next Prime Minister of Canada.

00:00:07.020 The election results in the Quebec riding of Terrebonne have just been annulled,

00:00:11.100 meaning that the Liberal government just lost another MP.

00:00:13.960 Now last election, a woman in Quebec decided to vote by mail. 0.99

00:00:17.920 And unfortunately, her vote did not count because some fool at Elections Canada 0.72

00:00:22.100 printed the wrong address on the envelope.

00:00:24.800 That led to her vote not counting, and the Liberals won that riding by one vote.

00:00:34.340 Here in Vieux Terrebonne, voters are still trying to make sense of what's happened in their riding.

00:00:40.400 Liberal candidate Tatiana Auguste beat the Bloc Québécois candidate by one single vote.

00:00:46.280 Then it was reported one voter had her mail-in ballot returned

00:00:50.080 because Elections Canada made a mistake printing their own postal code on her ballot envelope.

00:00:55.860 She says her vote was for the Bloc, which would have made the election a tie.

00:01:05.580 Elections Canada now says five more mail-in ballots with the wrong postal code printed on the envelope

00:01:14.620 Elections Canada says they cannot say for sure whether the votes were late because of the wrong postal code

00:01:24.160 The ballots have not been opened, and we do not know which candidates the votes were for.

00:01:36.940 There may be wrongdoing without the intention of performing wrongdoing.

00:01:58.720 Others say they're ready to move on, adding what's happened since could cause people to change their vote,

00:02:07.020 Despite the uproar, Elections Canada says the results are final, adding it cannot legally rerun an election.

00:02:20.860 To make sure the election runs fairly and smoothly, everybody gets one vote, and everybody's vote counts.

00:02:36.020 After losing her vote, she challenged the election results, and it went all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.

00:02:44.680 Today, it was announced by the Supreme Court that the election results in Terrebonne, Quebec, are now invalid, and a new election must be called.

00:02:57.520 Needless to say, this is a huge blow to Carney's liberal government.

00:03:00.900 Now, if you remember last year, Carney was able to steal two MPs from the Conservatives, and another Conservative MP resigned.

00:03:09.160 This spurred talk that Carney was pushing for a majority, and he was getting pretty close, until today.

00:03:14.840 Now, I'm still 100% confident that Polyev will be the next Prime Minister of Canada, and my stance on that simply has not changed.

00:03:20.740 One thing I want to point out, though, is that if Carney calls an election a federal election right now, the Conservatives and the Liberals are still pretty neck-to-neck, and I don't think the Conservatives are in majority territory right now.

00:03:37.320 This is just the way I see it. I'm actually hoping the Liberals aren't too quick to call another federal election, and the next federal election happens in the summer at the earliest.

00:03:46.300 With Trump's recent antics threatening to annex Greenland, and renewing his economic attacks on Canada, all he's doing is pushing people away from the Conservatives and closer to the Carney government.

00:03:57.520 Like I said before, I still think Polyev is the right guy to deal with Donald Trump.

00:04:01.500 Unfortunately for us, the majority of Canadians just don't see it like that.

00:04:05.080 As long as Trump is attacking Canada, Canadians, for whatever reason, prefer Carney.

00:04:10.920 Now, the best hope for Canadians, especially Conservatives, is for Mark Carney and Donald Trump to work out some sort of deal and end this whole trade war.

00:04:18.940 The good news is that Republicans, at least six of them, have turned on Trump over his tariffs on Canada, and there is a chance that Donald Trump might be willing to budge on that one.

00:04:35.780 I consider myself to be a patriot, and I want what's best for Canada.

00:04:53.200 They see him as this right-wing superhero that can do no wrong, and that always has some plan.

00:05:01.700 it's either greatly exaggerated, misleading, or simply not true.

00:05:06.460 And when Donald Trump lies about my country and attacks my country, that helps the Liberals and it hurts Conservatives.

00:05:12.960 But that doesn't mean I'm not optimistic that Polyev is going to win.
