So yes, when they cross the floor, they're technically exercising independent judgment.

But if those members of parliament never had convictions to begin with, it's not a principled

decision. It is a decision based on opportunity because they are opportunist. Also, this has led

to eroding the trust in our parliamentary system. This tarnished the credibility of our Westminster

model. So because the party's base is such a cult mentality, they are unable to call out the rot.

The conservative party base is full of good people who truly believe in what they stand for and they're loyal, which is great.
