00:00:10.200 I started Ornod in 2013, and we make bike apparel.
00:00:14.240 The best part of Shopify for me is our ability to run the business as essentially non-technical people.
00:00:21.580 We're able to admin everything on the back end, front end, and sell things online easily.
00:00:26.820 If Shopify were a bike accessory, I think it would actually be the bicycle.
00:00:32.460 It's the thing that you do the thing on.
00:00:34.720 We run the business on Shopify.
00:00:36.220 Start your free trial on Shopify.com.
00:00:39.120 My name is Alex Matisse.
00:00:40.700 I'm the founder and CEO of East Fork.
00:00:42.620 Shopify makes something really hard, like starting a business, selling stuff online, simple.
00:00:48.760 East Fork started as just a little pottery.
00:00:51.180 And today we've got a factory, about 115 employees.
00:00:54.280 running a business, you've got so many things to worry about and the commerce of it shouldn't
00:00:59.380 be one of them. Shopify makes it simple, makes it easy and makes it fun. Start your free trial
00:01:05.320 on shopify.com. The only reason you're finding moats in somebody
00:01:24.200 else's eye is because you have a beam in your own eye. Don't be judge, jury, and executioner.
00:01:31.280 He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. The one doing the judging 1.00
00:01:37.200 is in the worst spot than the one who's done wrong. But leave the way open for God's wrath.
00:01:43.340 That's kind of the most gangster. Don't judge outside the church. God will deal with that.
00:01:49.200 Judge inside the church, though.
00:01:51.020 We have to do that.
00:01:52.500 To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy.
00:01:57.380 You can judge yourself or God can judge you.
00:02:00.040 You better judge yourself.
00:02:01.800 Judge not according to the parents, but judge righteous judgment.
00:02:06.280 He does not say, woe is everybody else.
00:02:09.960 He judges himself.
00:02:11.660 As you get in this process, you're going to find out that you're not so concerned with everybody else.
00:02:17.200 You're concerned with your own sin.
00:02:23.480 Welcome back, everybody.
00:02:24.580 Sorry for the bizarre intro, but a couple of things that happens when you work with
00:02:29.380 Puerto Ricans is you don't know when the start's going to happen as far as like when
00:02:32.840 the cameras go on and also the time.
00:02:35.000 So did our thing say 10 and it's 1030?
00:02:37.560 Love this, man.
00:02:40.920 I can't read this stuff about the Raven in the chat.
00:02:43.900 That's not going to work.
00:02:44.940 If you're praying for Raven's Jeep, it's not going to work.
00:02:48.340 All right, so we're in Sermon on the Mount, episode 30.
00:02:51.920 Straight Bible, Sermon on the Mount, episode 30.
00:02:54.560 We're specifically going to focus on Matthew chapter 7, verses 1 through 6.
00:03:01.960 But verse 7 has to be talked about, even though we're going to kind of get into that in the next study.
00:03:07.920 We're going to really focus on 1 through 6.
00:03:10.160 We probably won't even get all the way through 6, but hopefully we'll get 1 through 5.
00:03:14.940 but the reason this needs to be talked about why we need to kind of bring verse seven into it right
00:03:19.920 from the jump is because it kind of answers the question that you're probably going to have after
00:03:25.260 reading verses one through six. So I'll go ahead and read it like this. This is a Matthew seven
00:03:30.020 verse one, judge not that you be not judged. Let's go ahead and get this judge word out of
00:03:37.340 the way real quick. Judge is the Greek word krino, K-R-I-N-O. It means to try, to condemn,
00:03:42.760 to punish to avenge to conclude or to damn right and i and i that there's a lot of different words
00:03:51.640 you know like in the greek words mean a lot more than what they do in the english but this is not
00:03:55.580 as simple as just saying you know don't judge in the way like americans judge like before you cross
00:04:01.100 the street you better judge the traffic right like you you know what i'm saying like of course you
00:04:04.680 judge yeah of course you judge well it's not even just prejudge there's there's an element of that
00:04:08.940 but it's more in line of like being judge jury and executioner like don't be that right don't
00:04:15.480 jump to conclusions right because one of the things is conclude and don't try to avenge don't
00:04:20.220 try to punish because of it right don't be judge jury and uh executioner and don't assume the why
00:04:26.440 that that's a big thing is not assuming the why when people do something uh by the grace of god
00:04:31.760 a lot of times when somebody's like so nasty i'm i'm able to look at them and be like this used to
00:04:38.120 be a baby. This used to be somebody in kindergarten, maybe a big kid spit in their face when they were
00:04:43.520 a little kid and it made them mean. It made them the way they are. Maybe the mom and dad was mean
00:04:46.960 to them. Maybe they went through a bad breakup in junior high. I don't know. I don't know. But
00:04:50.960 something caused this turn of events to make this human that way. And let me just be mindful of that.
00:04:56.300 Let me just be mindful. Let me not be judge, jury and executioner, right? So that's what we're
00:05:00.400 talking about when it says judge. Judge not that you be not judged. For with what judgment you
00:05:04.940 judge, you shall be judged. And with what measure you measure, it shall be measured to you again.
00:05:11.300 And why behold is the moat that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that
00:05:15.920 is in thy own eye. So a beam is like a log of timber, like a beam, you know, like a big piece
00:05:22.060 of timber. The moat is like a shaving off the timber. It's like a sliver off of it.
00:05:28.880 So why behold the moat that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your
00:05:32.800 own eye? Or how will you say to your brother, let me pull out the moat out of your eye, and behold,
00:05:37.320 a beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite. First cast out the beam out of your own eye, and then
00:05:42.400 shalt thou see clearly to cast out the moat out of thy brother's eye. Then he goes right into this,
00:05:47.780 give not that which is holy unto the dogs. Neither cast you your pearls before swine,
00:05:52.980 lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you. So right from the jump, why we
00:05:58.720 have to bring verse seven into this is we we have to balance verse one with verse six right um we
00:06:04.960 know in uh matthew four one through seven you want to pull that up real quick because this is a good
00:06:09.440 uh principle anytime you're studying the bible because like we're talking about some people
00:06:13.160 just go off the rails with with passages that's why you got to study the entirety of the bible
00:06:17.360 and have it not just in context of what's being said not just the context of the chapter that
00:06:22.140 it's in not just the context of the book that it's in but in the context of the entirety of
00:06:26.400 the word of God, right? All right. So this is what it says. It says, then was Jesus led up
00:06:30.440 of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted 40 days and
00:06:36.360 40 nights, he was afterward a hunger. And when the tempter came to him, he said, if you be the son of
00:06:41.140 God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, it is written, man shall not
00:06:46.400 live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Then the devil
00:06:51.180 taketh them up into the holy city and setteth them on a pinnacle of the temple. And saith unto him,
00:06:56.680 if you be the son of God, cast yourself down. This is the part we're going to get at, because
00:07:00.280 there's a million things you could teach out of this passage, but this is the point we're getting
00:07:03.640 at. And Satan saith unto him, if thou be the son of God, cast thyself down. For it is written,
00:07:10.120 he shall give his angels charge concerning thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up,
00:07:14.380 lest at any time you dash thy foot against a stone, right? So somebody says, it is written.
00:07:20.340 Jesus said, it is written again, or as if to say, it is also written, thou shall not
00:07:26.300 tempt the Lord thy God, right?
00:07:27.740 So we just want to keep that principle in mind, right?
00:07:29.840 It is written.
00:07:30.780 It is also written.
00:07:32.100 So in verse one, we have judge not that you be not judge.
00:07:35.060 Verse six, it says, give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls
00:07:38.840 before swine.
00:07:39.800 So clearly, there's some judging taking place in verse six, right?
00:07:44.980 Right after he's saying, don't judge.
00:07:46.800 Who is the swine though?
00:07:47.880 Well, that's what we have to get into, which I don't think we're going to get that far today.
00:07:51.620 But that's not even the point I'm really getting at.
00:07:54.020 The point is, is like, in light of all this, right, verse seven is the solution in the context here.
00:08:00.180 Ask and it shall be given you.
00:08:01.600 Seek and you shall find.
00:08:03.220 Knock and it shall be opened unto you.
00:08:05.480 We're all going to find ourselves in these scenarios of like judging, don't want to judge, need to judge.
00:08:11.120 We're going to unpack that, like when and where and why we judge.
00:08:14.100 but in the end, like the final word on it is ask and it shall be given you seek and you shall find
00:08:19.240 knock and it shall be opened unto you. So, so that's what we want to do. Like there's some
00:08:25.200 of these things that are, that are impossible to the natural man. Right. And that's why we
00:08:29.660 lean on God for that. Hey guys, just a quick reminder to check out straightbible.org. That's
00:08:35.280 the website. That's where you get all the merch. You get all the cool stuff that Top Lobster has
00:08:38.800 been working on. Uh, it's got the links to see us on YouTube, to see us on Spotify, check us out
00:08:43.920 on Spreaker, to check us out on Substack. It's got Apple Podcasts on there, all the ways to hear
00:08:50.520 us, to see us. It's got this option for you to email us with your name, your email, the city
00:08:55.800 and state, and your story, which is like your testimony. So it's like an NDS Chronicles, but
00:09:00.660 instead of it being about aliens and abductions and stuff like that, it's about your story in
00:09:05.660 Christ. So we're really looking forward to you guys checking out the website. It's straightbible.org.
00:09:10.680 so this is really the same principle if we look at verses one and two judge not that you be not
00:09:18.440 judged because with what judgment you judge you shall be judged and with what measure you measure
00:09:23.680 it shall be measured to you again this all this really seems like a passage from proverbs actually
00:09:29.280 like it's um like like my take is that this is clearly a between you and god thing but it also
00:09:35.560 applies like in natural life, right? Like in Proverbs has all these little one-liners that's
00:09:40.320 like applications to life, wisdom for life. So I absolutely think this has to do with me and God,
00:09:46.200 but it also has to do with me and my fellow man, right? Like if I'm super judgy on other people,
00:09:51.300 I'm going to get that judgment back from people as well. You know what I'm saying? Like if you're
00:09:55.800 around somebody who's like super judgy and like pointing out the flaws of everybody else, they
00:10:01.000 kind of get that other people, whether they know it or not, they're getting that same judgment back
00:10:04.980 against them, even from people, like in a Proverbs type of setting. But as far as it goes with God,
00:10:11.240 if we look back at Matthew 6, 14 and 15, which we already went through this, he says,
00:10:15.600 for if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if
00:10:19.660 you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses, right?
00:10:24.720 So it's another one of these things where it's like the balls in your court. You know, if you
00:10:28.800 were to say like, God, you know, you're judging me, you're being harsh on me, you know, what's
00:10:34.320 happening here, you should right away say like, okay, have I been doing this? Right? Same way
00:10:39.360 if I'm saying, God, forgive me for such a thing. God's going to say, okay, how's your forgiveness
00:10:42.920 game? Look, how are you forgiving others? If you're forgiving others, that's the forgiveness
00:10:47.400 you get. You get forgiveness the same way. As you're judging others, you're getting judged the
00:10:51.340 same way. And a lot of this does come back to like, God resists the proud, but gives grace to
00:10:56.980 the humble. These are all things we should be thinking about when we find ourselves in a
00:11:00.660 situation, right, where we feel like we're being, you know, judged by God, where there's some
00:11:04.920 judgment, some chastisement, he's dealing with us, we should look back and say, how's my forgiveness
00:11:10.580 game look? You know, how does my judging game look on others? How does my pride game look like
00:11:16.100 he resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. So if there's a thing that I'm not
00:11:19.860 overcoming, I need to look at that and say, okay, I'm not getting grace in this area to overcome
00:11:25.100 this, right? I must be prideful. And when you dig, you find out you're prideful about it. Even if you
00:11:32.000 don't come off prideful, even if people don't think you're prideful, it doesn't matter. Like
00:11:35.620 when you start to examine these things that God's resisting you on, when you get to the bottom of it,
00:11:40.780 it has to do with pride, right? So this is all kind of tied up in the same thing. If we look at Luke
00:11:45.820 6, 35 through 38. Dude, I love when I just flipped a page and it goes right to it.
00:11:55.960 Luke 6, 35 through 38.
00:11:57.820 And when the day was now far spent,
00:11:59.880 his disciples came unto him.
00:12:01.320 Sorry, I've flipped a mark.
00:12:02.640 6, 35.
00:12:04.180 Love when that happens.
00:12:06.840 But love you your enemies and do good
00:12:10.420 and lend hoping for nothing again
00:12:12.520 and your reward shall be great
00:12:14.320 and ye shall be the children of the highest
00:12:16.360 for he is the kind unto the unthankful
00:12:18.380 for he is kind unto the unthankful
00:12:20.460 and to the evil.
00:12:21.980 Yeah, and you know what?
00:12:23.140 If there's ever a question, lean that way.
00:12:25.100 If there's ever a question of like, oh, judge, not judge, what are they doing?
00:12:29.720 I try to lean more on the side of like, well, God's kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
00:12:34.840 I try to lean more that way.
00:12:36.420 If I'm going to be wrong about something, I'd rather be wrong of being kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
00:12:43.000 Be therefore merciful as your father also is merciful.
00:12:46.820 Judge not, and you shall not be judged.
00:12:48.980 Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned.
00:12:51.860 Forgive, and you shall be forgiven.
00:12:53.320 Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom.
00:13:00.980 For with the same measure that you measure with all, it shall be measured to you again.
00:13:05.260 Right?
00:13:06.700 It's also kind of saying don't judge, don't condemn, but do forgive and do give.
00:13:11.320 Right?
00:13:12.240 But Luke just kind of elaborates on it a little bit more.
00:13:14.720 if we look at John 8 1 through 11
00:13:18.960 I think this is a pretty cool example
00:13:20.960 of judging you according
00:13:22.960 to how you judge right
00:13:24.140 which this should be a real warning to all of us
00:13:26.880 John 8
00:13:29.240 verses 1 through 11
00:13:30.380 is it burning up in here
00:13:32.200 no it's just you
00:13:33.760 are you sure
00:13:34.860 you got me heated dude
00:13:39.540 you ready
00:13:43.400 okay jesus went into the mount of olives and early in the morning he came again into the temple
00:13:50.280 and all the people came unto him and he sat down and taught them i love that picture
00:13:56.760 and the scribes and pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery and when they had set her
00:14:05.720 in the midst they said to him master this woman was taken in adultery in the very act
00:14:09.680 now Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stoned but what do you say very intriguing
00:14:18.860 discussion well first off you got to know that in Deuteronomy I think it's in Deuteronomy 22
00:14:23.020 Leviticus 20 talks about what's supposed to happen in this scenario so even according to
00:14:29.100 the law of Moses there never should have been a woman it should have been a woman and a man
00:14:33.800 in in the law that they're referencing it says bring them both it doesn't say just bring the
00:14:38.980 woman. But you learn so much about Jesus by the way the Pharisees deal with him. They're like,
00:14:46.860 we know how much he loves people. This is the accusation. Like, we know how much he loves
00:14:51.460 people. There's no way he's going to say to kill her. So we're going to bust them. You know,
00:14:55.900 according to the law of Moses, we're going to show that he's contradicting the law of Moses.
00:14:59.600 But they had holes in their game.
00:15:01.500 Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Now, Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stone. But
00:15:07.120 what do you say? This they said, tempting him that they might have to accuse him.
00:15:12.200 But Jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground as though he heard them not.
00:15:19.080 I mean, there's a lot to unpack in this. That's not really the topic that we're in. But like in
00:15:23.400 Exodus 31, it talks about like the Ten Commandments being written by the finger of God. So who knows
00:15:27.580 if like maybe his finger was glowing when he was writing and or maybe he's writing the Ten
00:15:31.700 Commandments, his fingers glowing. I don't know. Maybe maybe the way he's writing, they're saying
00:15:35.580 like, oh, this is God. Like the same way
00:15:37.600 the finger of God is what wrote the Ten Commandments.
00:15:39.540 I don't know.
00:15:43.480 Okay, wait. Let's look at Jeremiah 17, 13,
00:15:45.620 too. This is another interesting thing. This is off the
00:15:47.540 rails a little bit. It's not, this is just like
00:15:49.520 bonus stuff. It's not really about the
00:15:51.480 topic at hand,
00:15:52.720 but it's just an interesting,
00:15:55.000 it's an interesting thing.
00:15:58.580 Oh, Lord, the hope
00:15:59.380 of Israel, all that forsake
00:16:01.500 thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart
00:16:03.560 from me shall be written in
00:16:05.440 earth so who knows if he's they're not like connecting that passage shall be written in the
00:16:11.180 earth like he he gets down he starts writing in the earth right writing their names i don't know
00:16:16.080 man but maybe there maybe there's something tied to this i don't know i don't know this is just
00:16:20.600 interesting this is why you want to know the entirety of scripture so you can kind of put
00:16:24.380 puzzle pieces together to think through these things from a biblical perspective maybe maybe
00:16:28.920 this has something to do with it because it's interesting he says because uh they that depart
00:16:33.940 from me shall be written in the earth. That is a very interesting statement. This is almost like
00:16:40.460 Jeremiah is very aware of the father and the son. Oh Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee
00:16:47.580 shall be ashamed. And they that depart from me shall be written in the earth. Almost as if like
00:16:53.760 Jeremiah is writing this for Jesus, for Jesus to say it. Some people think the prophets were so
00:17:00.960 close to God that they were actually like writing out things for Jesus. I don't know. I know that's
00:17:06.100 a little wild, but whatever. But look, they that depart from me shall be written in the earth.
00:17:10.820 And that's what's happening here because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living
00:17:15.320 waters. And if you just go back like one page back to 737 and 38, it says in the last day,
00:17:22.560 that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying, if any man thirst, let him come
00:17:26.120 unto me and drink. He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow
00:17:30.320 rivers of living water as if to say like he is the fountain of the living water tying back to
00:17:35.280 that Jeremiah passage as well. So anyway, that's just something interesting. I know a lot of people
00:17:39.500 love this, this passage and there's different views on it. It's just a little something to look
00:17:44.260 at. But then in verse seven, it says, you know, cause he, he writes down, he sits down with his
00:17:49.900 finger and wrote on the ground as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he
00:17:53.400 lifted up himself and said unto them, he, that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone
00:17:58.920 at her, right? Judge not that you be not judged, right? And again, he stooped down and wrote on
00:18:09.360 the ground, and they which heard it being convicted by their own conscience, thank God for that,
00:18:16.640 went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last, and Jesus was left alone
00:18:21.440 and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none but the woman,
00:18:26.360 And he said unto her, woman, where are those thine accusers, right?
00:18:30.900 This is that same word, that crino for judge, but it's calicrino, but it's the same root word.
00:18:37.400 Where are those accusers?
00:18:38.960 Are you talking about this word judge, judge not others?
00:18:41.240 Like accuse not others.
00:18:42.520 Be careful with accusations.
00:18:44.360 Where are your accusers?
00:18:46.020 Hath no man condemned thee?
00:18:48.620 Doesn't matter anyway.
00:18:50.480 If a man condemns you, doesn't matter anyway.
00:18:52.420 She said, no man, Lord.
00:18:53.520 And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn.
00:18:55.660 them. That's what matters. Neither do I condemn thee. And then he drops this nugget, man, go and
00:19:01.340 sin no more. So he's not saying that like her sin isn't bad, but he flips it on them, right? He
00:19:07.600 flips it back on the ones doing the judging. As if to say the ones doing the judging, doing the
00:19:13.920 accusations, that's more heinous than the one who's done the wrong, right? Judge not that you be not
00:19:21.360 judged. All right. Let's look at, um, do, can you pull up the amplified? Can we look at Romans two,
00:19:28.400 uh, one through six? I just think this is really interesting in the amplified. I read through the
00:19:33.000 amplified before and it was like a, it's a really neat translation. Whereas like in English, a
00:19:37.240 paragraph is this long in the amplified. It's like that long just because the Greek words are, are,
00:19:42.900 so they have so much more weight to them. Therefore you have no excuse or defense or
00:19:51.180 justification. Oh man, whoever you are, who judges and condemns another for imposing as judge and
00:19:58.900 passing sentence on another, you condemn yourself. Do you see how that the amplified like brings out
00:20:04.040 the full meaning of that word? Judging doesn't mean like judging before you cross the street.
00:20:07.980 mm-hmm it's it's condemning you know uh condemn another and in posing as a judge passing sentence
00:20:17.580 you condemn yourself when you do that because you who judge are habitually practicing the very same
00:20:23.760 things that you censor and denounce isn't that interesting that the bible doesn't leave room
00:20:28.960 for the fact that you're not doing it it's very interesting in light of the next couple verses
00:20:33.320 where it says like you're looking for a moat in your brother's eye that proves you have a beam
00:20:38.280 in your eye like the way jesus says that he doesn't say you might not he's the way he's setting
00:20:43.000 that up is like the only way you're looking for moats in people's eyes is because you have a beam
00:20:47.300 in your eye that's what that's saying but we know that the judgment adverse verdict sentence of god
00:20:54.320 falls justly and in accordance with truth upon those who practice such things like your judgment
00:21:00.880 can't be trusted. His judgment can't. And do you think or imagine, oh man, when you judge and
00:21:10.600 condemn those who practice such things and yet do them yourself, that you will escape God's
00:21:15.940 judgment and elude his sentence and adverse verdict? Or are you so blind as to trifle with
00:21:24.040 and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of his kindness and forbearance and
00:21:31.300 long-suffering patience. Are you unmindful or actually ignorant of the fact that God's kindness
00:21:36.200 is intended to lead you to repent, to change your mind and inner man to accept God's will?
00:21:42.600 It's like you lose sight of all this, that you live like that, and his kindness is what brought
00:21:48.240 you to repentance. That's the only reason you're at where you're at. But are you there if you're
00:21:52.420 acting like that? I don't know. But by your callous stubbornness and impetence of heart,
00:22:02.420 you are storing up wrath and indignation for yourself. You see how it's like, dude,
00:22:08.740 the one doing the judging is in the worst spot than the one who's done wrong. Oh, man.
00:22:16.660 You are storing up wrath and indignation for yourself on the day of wrath and indignation
00:22:22.020 when God's righteous judgment, just doom, will be revealed.
00:22:29.280 For he, God, will render to every man according to his works,
00:22:32.560 justly as his deeds deserve, which is a quote from Psalm 62, 12.
00:22:38.080 So what's it saying?
00:22:38.800 Let God be the judge.
00:22:41.000 Like, how nice is that?
00:22:43.560 How nice is that?
00:22:45.220 Verse 1 is a reality.
00:22:46.300 Can we pull up verse 1 again?
00:22:47.500 Romans 2, 1.
00:22:48.220 Verse one is a reality that you come to at some point in the maturing process.
00:22:53.540 Therefore, you have no excuse or defense or justification, oh man, whoever you are who judges and condemns another.
00:22:59.460 For imposing as judge and passing sentence on another, you condemn yourself because you who judge are habitually practicing the very same things that you censor and denounce.
00:23:06.980 That's a hard word.
00:23:08.580 And that is a place that you get to as you grow and mature in God.
00:23:12.140 It doesn't happen early on in the game.
00:23:14.080 At some point, you realize the reality of that at some point.
00:23:18.220 so uh i would just say be careful judging others but you know what's you know what's the thing i
00:23:25.700 think about too be careful judging people in the bible you know how quick um you know it's very
00:23:30.660 easy to look at the pharisees and judge the pharisees right as you get into a little bit
00:23:35.240 more of a maturity in this process you say oh man but this is this is crazy like they had the
00:23:42.060 scriptures man they had the scriptures they had like the you want to talk about chosen people
00:23:47.520 like people who are chosen and having access to the truth, they had it, man.
00:23:52.960 They were so close to him, and they missed it.
00:23:55.580 So before I just say, oh, those guys are trash,
00:23:57.860 because I don't know how many of them came to know the Lord after the resurrection.
00:24:01.520 I don't know, right?
00:24:02.880 A lot of people missed it before the cross and resurrection,
00:24:06.180 and who knows how many of those Pharisees figured it out afterwards.
00:24:09.160 Clearly not all of them, but some of them could have.
00:24:11.660 I'm just saying that, like, with the Pharisees, even with Jonah,
00:24:14.840 I've been in Bible studies before where people are just trashing Jonah.
00:24:17.520 you know, that he's so mean and bad and, you know, he went against God and like, we don't know.
00:24:22.540 Those are, that's a prophet, dude. Like those are humans on a completely other level than normal
00:24:26.840 humanity. Old Testament prophets are just, they're cut from a different cloth. They're just,
00:24:30.880 there's something totally different. And if you look at Nineveh, Assyria, like what they do to
00:24:35.760 Israel in the coming years, who knows if he didn't know that ahead of time, like if he didn't know
00:24:40.920 that, and that's why he's pleading with God, like, no, don't save them, God. If you save them, you
00:24:45.020 know what they're going to do to Israel. And he's pleading for his people, for his loved ones. We
00:24:49.000 don't know. We don't know. But it's so easy to jump to conclusions that like, he's a bad guy.
00:24:53.860 You know, the Pharisees are bad guys. Job's friends are bad guys. You go all through the
00:24:57.820 scripture, you know, Solomon fell out. He's a bad guy. Like, I don't know. It's very easy to look at
00:25:02.640 other people and point out all they're wrong. But like, we have no clue if we're in the story,
00:25:07.280 God's having it written now, like what's going to be pointed out in our life. And I just want
00:25:11.740 to be mindful because i'm like oh there if you know there's certain details they could pull from
00:25:15.500 my life that would be very cringe i'd be like oh you know we don't know exactly what like all these
00:25:21.480 people in the bible they have a whole life dude they they went to school they have a family they
00:25:25.820 maybe they played sports they grew up they had a career we don't know all those details in people's
00:25:30.340 lives we just know these things that the bible points out about their life that matter in
00:25:33.760 eternity so i'm just saying just be careful like being super harsh and judgy on people in your life
00:25:39.660 people in the Bible, like all around. Anytime you do that, it should cause you to like look
00:25:44.240 back at yourself is really what the Bible teaches. All right. Let's look at Romans 12,
00:25:49.860 nine through 21 in the Amplified. Because the Amplified is interesting, man. It pulls out a
00:25:56.700 lot of data. Let's see here. Let your love be sincere, a real thing. Hate what is evil,
00:26:04.220 loathe all ungodliness turn in horror from wickedness but hold fast to that which is good
00:26:10.260 love one another with brotherly affection as members of one family that's beautiful that's
00:26:16.280 the picture of the church people ask like what's the church it's that it's love one another with
00:26:19.880 brotherly affection as members of one family in other places i think paul's writing to timothy
00:26:24.720 saying like with the older women treat them as mothers the women your age treat them as sisters
00:26:29.020 i don't know if it says this but i take that same thought like the younger people that are
00:26:32.580 Bella's age. I treat them as daughters. It's a family. We're a family. Giving precedence and
00:26:39.000 showing honor to one another. Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor. Be aglow and burning
00:26:47.520 with the Spirit, serving the Lord. I like that. Be aglow. That's a big deal. Some people say that
00:26:52.880 about Jessica. She's got a glow about her. She's not ever doing Bible studies or talking in general.
00:26:59.480 She's just kind of doing her thing, but she just has a glow about her.
00:27:02.580 Like there's a thing, if you're close to the Lord, there's like a glow.
00:27:05.820 Rejoice and exult in hope.
00:27:07.740 Be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation.
00:27:10.780 Be constant in prayer.
00:27:13.960 Contribute to the needs of God's people, sharing in the necessities of the saints.
00:27:17.900 Pursue the practice of hospitality.
00:27:21.700 Bless those who persecute you.
00:27:24.660 Be mean to him back?
00:27:26.500 Nope.
00:27:26.760 Bless those who persecute you, who are cruel in their attitude towards you.
00:27:31.340 Bless and do not curse them because if you're nasty to them, now they own you.
00:27:35.860 Instead of you setting out and saying, today I'm going to be a man of God and I'm going to live with love in my heart and I'm going to be happy and I'm going to view things in a positive light.
00:27:44.000 And then all of a sudden somebody's nasty and then boom, you switch and now you're nasty.
00:27:47.700 Well, now they own you.
00:27:48.940 Now you're not living your life the way you wanted to live it.
00:27:51.560 You're letting them pick.
00:27:53.120 Rejoice with those who rejoice, sharing others joy and weep with those who weep.
00:27:56.760 sharing others grief. Like this is just so much about like, everything's not about you live in
00:28:01.520 harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, snobbish, high-minded, exclusive, but readily
00:28:06.260 adjust yourself to people and things and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate
00:28:12.960 yourself or be wise in your own conceits. Repay no one evil. Sorry, I felt like this is going so
00:28:22.520 long, but that's the Amplifier. Yeah, it's like three times longer than each regular verse.
00:28:28.260 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble,
00:28:34.620 aiming to be above reproach in the sight of everyone. Of course, these are all references
00:28:39.380 to Old Testament passages too. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
00:28:47.180 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, this is what we're getting to, but leave the way open for
00:28:51.940 god's wrath that's kind of the most gangster in a in a in a bizarre way you're saying like
00:28:59.860 if if i want this guy to get what he's got coming to him the the way that's going to happen is from
00:29:07.180 god it's not it's not going to come from me like like whatever thing i'm going to do to get somebody
00:29:11.940 back it's it's not going to be equal to what god does that's heavy man because it is written
00:29:19.100 vengeance is mine. I will repay, says the Lord. Another Old Testament passage. But if your enemy
00:29:26.420 is hungry, feed him. And if he's thirsty, give him drink. For by sowing, you will heap burning
00:29:30.980 coals upon his head. That's a Proverbs passage. Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but
00:29:36.940 overcome and master evil with good. That's just such a great word about this, man. We don't need
00:29:42.600 to worry about the judgment of others because God is going to take care of that. Vengeance is mine.
00:29:47.600 imagine like the stress of having to determine other people's motive and the punishment they
00:29:52.800 deserve for their actions imagine if like that's your job you're walking around the earth and
00:29:57.800 you're responsible for determining who's good and bad like who wants that who in the world wants
00:30:03.160 that i know that that's like a very low level what do the people say low vibration living or
00:30:08.200 whatever like that's like a low vibration if you will way to like do things is to like want to go
00:30:14.280 around and judge others and determine who's good and bad and what they deserve according to that
00:30:18.840 that's like the essence of a karen huh yeah yes spiritually karen yes but like who wants that
00:30:25.840 like what like you don't have enough responsibility or things in your life you just want more
00:30:29.840 responsibility now you're going to judge everybody that just i don't know i just take great uh
00:30:34.940 comfort in knowing that like god's going to deal with this dude i don't have to get anybody back
00:30:39.120 i don't have to like state my case i don't have to win an argument i don't have to win a debate
00:30:44.180 I don't have to do any of that.
00:30:45.600 God's going to take care of it.
00:30:47.340 Thank God for that.
00:30:49.380 All right, this is an interesting thing to me, man.
00:30:53.720 I like this passage.
00:30:54.820 It's Revelation 13, 7 through 10.
00:30:58.280 I always wondered about this for a long time reading it,
00:31:01.000 and then I feel like I read it in context, and it made sense one day.
00:31:05.280 Revelation 13, 7 through 10 says this.
00:31:08.140 It was given unto him, this is the beast, to make war with the saints
00:31:11.320 and to overcome them.
00:31:12.940 and power was given him over all kindreds and tongues and nations and all that dwell upon the
00:31:18.280 earth shall worship him whose names are not written in the book of life of the lamb slain
00:31:22.000 from the foundation of the world if any man have an ear let him hear he that leads into captivity
00:31:28.660 shall go into captivity he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword here is the
00:31:35.040 patience and the faith of the saints so my take on this is that ultimately justice will be served
00:31:40.320 right like here is the patience and the faith of the saints we're watching the world go off the
00:31:45.140 rails we're potentially going to live in a day where there's great judgment and accusation and
00:31:51.160 uh even you know physical harm caused to the church right but this is this is the uh this is
00:31:57.120 the patience and the faith of the saints what that he that leads into captivity shall go into
00:32:02.060 captivity you're going to get what you got coming everybody's going to get what they've got coming
00:32:06.220 to them. This is, this is the patience and the faith of the saints. He that kills with the sword
00:32:10.580 must be killed with the sword, right? Like this whole thing that everybody's going to get what
00:32:14.700 they've got coming to them is a, is make, gives us patience. It gives us hope. Like it's this thing
00:32:19.660 that we know one day justice will be served. That's why it was a little bit, uh, off the rails.
00:32:25.180 And I didn't know what to think when, uh, there was the thing called, um, the, uh, Q Q and then,
00:32:31.780 uh, which I never figured out how to watch Q. I guess it's HN or something. I had no clue what
00:32:36.540 that was, but I used to watch it on this, uh, X 22 report. And the guy would break it down. I
00:32:41.500 really liked the way he dissected things and the way he said stuff was like really cool.
00:32:45.400 But their thing was always that like all these people in the deep state are going to get what
00:32:50.500 they've got coming to them. And I was always like, I don't know about that. The Bible doesn't promise
00:32:54.460 that it promises one day in the eternal realm, everybody's going to get what they got coming to
00:32:59.400 them, but it doesn't promise this side of eternity that people are going to so-called get what they
00:33:04.040 deserve, right? But the patience, the patience and the faith of the saints is that one day
00:33:10.240 in the eternal realm, justice will be served, right? It says the same thing, just one page over
00:33:18.880 versus Revelation 14, 9 through 12. It says, the third angel followed them, saying with a loud
00:33:23.860 voice, if any man worship the beast in his image and receive his mark on his forehead or in his
00:33:27.360 hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture
00:33:32.060 into the cup of his indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence
00:33:37.500 of the holy angels and in the presence of the lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends up
00:33:42.120 forever and ever. And they have no rest day or night who worship the beast in his image and
00:33:47.420 whosoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints. Here are they that
00:33:52.380 keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Those who are faithful to Jesus don't have
00:33:57.360 that coming to them. The wickedness, the wicked people on planet earth, they have this coming to
00:34:02.600 them. That's our patience and our faith, man, is we're like, you know what? In the end, this all
00:34:08.000 works out. And that judgment is so severe that nothing people do in this life can compare.
00:34:12.880 For me to imagine I'm going to get somebody back, it's like, dude, what they have coming to them in
00:34:16.520 the eternal realm, if they don't repent and turn to God, is so bad that I don't think anybody,
00:34:21.360 I don't think any human who goes into eternity with God is going to look upon what happens to
00:34:27.340 everybody else and not have pity on them. I don't think we're, I don't think any of us are going to
00:34:31.320 be like, yeah, that's what you get. I think we're going to be like, no, no matter how nasty or bad
00:34:36.140 that Karen was to me, or no matter how nasty and bad that human was to me, no, I can't believe this
00:34:42.860 is happening. And, you know, maybe that's part of what's wrapped up. And when he like dries all the
00:34:46.640 eyes, right, there'll be no more tears forever. Like he wipes the tears away because maybe people
00:34:51.120 are coming to terms with that dude they're like we could have did more in our life we could have
00:34:55.040 prayed more we could have worked on getting more souls saved like we could have did stuff
00:34:58.620 but like that's the patience and faith of the saints is no matter how bad or ugly or nasty
00:35:03.280 people get to me in this realm one day justice is going to be served and that's all up to god
00:35:08.160 and so i'm good i'm good okay let's uh so that was verses one and two is what we're really
00:35:15.180 focusing on there. Remember, judge not that you be not judged. And now we're going to roll into
00:35:26.000 some of these passages about when we should judge, right? We want to balance the entirety
00:35:32.920 of scripture, right? So we're really focusing on one and two. Judge not that you be not judged,
00:35:38.840 for with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged. And with what measure you measure,
00:35:43.120 it shall be measured to you again. Right. This is like such a good word for real Christian living,
00:35:50.180 man. Like there's a lot of like stuff you can get tied up in, in the scripture and getting
00:35:53.780 arguments and debates. But like, this is just very good for us to hear these passages, man.
00:35:58.180 Like the, like the way you judge, you're going to get judged. The way you measure to people,
00:36:01.700 that's how it's going to get measured back to you. Okay. So we're in one Corinthians five,
00:36:06.660 9 through 13. I'll read it. It's an interesting one. 1 Corinthians 5, 9 through 13. It says this.
00:36:22.440 You got it? Yeah. I wrote unto you in an epistle, not to company with fornicators,
00:36:30.600 yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world or with the covetous or extortioners or
00:36:36.000 with idolaters, for then must ye needs to go out of the world. Yeah. He's saying like, you can't
00:36:42.240 get away from that in the world. You know, when people are nasty, if they say like, oh, you had
00:36:47.900 Owen Benjamin on and he denies Christ or, you know, whatever these things like, you know, people
00:36:54.120 who are non-believers, it's like, okay, okay. That's not, that's not the issue here. The issue
00:36:58.620 isn't like what's going on with non-believers. The issue is what's going on in the church.
00:37:02.360 because watch what he says. But now I have written unto you not to keep company. If any man that is
00:37:07.760 called a brother be a fornicator or covetous or an idolater or a railer or a drunkard or an
00:37:13.360 extortioner with such a one, no, not to eat for what have I to do to judge them also that are
00:37:20.040 without, do not you judge them that are within, but them that are without God judges, therefore
00:37:25.020 put away from among yourselves that wicked person. So the reason I want to read it in the NLT is
00:37:29.520 because it makes it a lot plainer, but what he's saying is, when are we supposed to judge? In the
00:37:33.700 church. He's saying something wild. Don't judge outside the church. God will deal with that.
00:37:39.540 Judge inside the church, though. We have to do that. We have to keep order in the church. And
00:37:44.100 the context of this was the dude who's boning his dad's wife. That's the context of chapter five.
00:37:48.640 That's what he's talking about. He's saying, you guys have to be judging that inside the church
00:37:52.540 because they were saying that he was saying, you guys are puffed up about this. Like you guys are
00:37:57.100 saying um what's the thing where just everybody you accept everything you uh i forget the word
00:38:02.680 but it's like a thing where you know you just accept everybody and everything unitarian yeah
00:38:06.720 it's like that he's saying like you guys were puffed up about that that you'll just allow
00:38:10.580 anything like almost like look at us we love so much we'll allow anything in here and now you're
00:38:15.780 puffed up because of it like no you have to judge inside the church you have to right here's what it
00:38:22.000 says in the nlt you got it yep when i wrote to you before i told you not to associate with people
00:38:27.060 who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn't talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin. This
00:38:33.400 is a wild thing, man. So he's saying, yeah, of course you're going to be among those people
00:38:37.440 in the world that indulge in sexual sin. I wasn't talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual
00:38:43.520 sin or are greedy or cheat people or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to
00:38:48.060 avoid people like that. You're not getting away from that. That's a wild thing. I don't know if
00:38:52.380 it's totally a thing still today. But when we were still part of the 501c3 system, we knew a lot of
00:38:57.760 people that were like, our kids do homeschool. I'm not against homeschool. But then we'd say,
00:39:02.680 oh, yeah, our daughter goes to regular school. And they'd be like, oh, you let her be around that?
00:39:08.480 I was like, what are you talking about? Like, light goes into a dark place and doesn't care
00:39:12.920 how dark it is. It's not like there's this idea that like, oh, we're going to shelter our kids
00:39:17.120 and not let them be around the darkness that's in the world. Well, that says you got to be around
00:39:21.180 you know and then what are you doing you're then you're not ever like if you're supposed to be
00:39:26.680 fishers of men what are you doing fishing in a bathtub like you think you have to go out there
00:39:30.360 and fish like you have to be out there and my kids don't well yeah but they're going to be in
00:39:36.220 the mix eventually yeah maybe not necessarily with school but they're kind of in the mix with
00:39:40.600 a lot of people anyway dude i meant you're not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer
00:39:45.160 yet indulges isn't yeah i meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer
00:39:50.140 yet indulges in sexual sin or is greedy or worships idols or is abusive or is a drunkard
00:39:56.200 or cheats people. Don't even eat with such people. This is a hard word, man. It isn't my
00:40:03.120 responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the
00:40:08.280 church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside, but as the scriptures say,
00:40:13.900 you must remove the evil person from among you. So this is a place where we do judge
00:40:19.720 in the church right if we look at uh one tim six one through five it says something intriguing
00:40:26.060 what is it what is the church though the about the true body of christ right yeah i see what
00:40:31.780 you're doing because you're saying uh matt why don't you go in the 501c3 system or reform it
00:40:36.080 it's not my thing i look at a lot of that i go that doesn't have anything to do with with god
00:40:39.780 somebody it's none of my business over there i'm not saying the true church isn't inside those
00:40:44.180 systems of course it is man like you look at jesus day joseph of arimathea he's a he's not
00:40:49.000 just in that system. He's a Pharisee in that system. Nicodemus is a Pharisee in that system.
00:40:54.240 Of course, the true church is inside those systems, but those systems become so corrupted
00:40:59.160 in themselves. There's not a whole lot for an outsider to do in those systems, dude.
00:41:04.020 I'm not necessarily just talking about the outsiders in the system. I'm talking about
00:41:08.260 the people who call themselves believers, the body of believers being the church.
00:41:13.780 Those are people that should be held to account.
00:41:16.160 Amen.
00:41:16.700 Especially those with larger followings.
00:41:20.300 I'm not going to police the internet.
00:41:21.680 I know what you're getting into.
00:41:22.820 I know what you're doing.
00:41:23.520 If I spent all my time talking about what's hot on the algorithm, I'd be completely off the rails.
00:41:28.480 I'm not going to get into stuff that God's not talking to me about.
00:41:30.560 I don't care if somewhere on the internet people are getting into the craziest stuff.
00:41:35.520 Paul's not an apostle.
00:41:36.860 Heaven and hell aren't real.
00:41:38.180 Everything's spiritual.
00:41:38.800 I'm not getting into all that.
00:41:40.300 I'm going to just have a body of work.
00:41:42.220 And then maybe if people come across these things that are popular in the algorithm, maybe they'll go back and reference some of the stuff we're doing because we're just teaching the straight Bible.
00:41:50.140 They'll be able to go back and reference it.
00:41:51.460 But if every time you got something that somebody goes off the rails and you have to correct them, you can't live like that.
00:41:57.200 I can't live like that.
00:41:58.960 I don't care if it's viral.
00:42:00.220 Where are we at?
00:42:00.700 1 Timothy 6?
00:42:03.760 You got it?
00:42:06.620 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor.
00:42:12.220 that be the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
00:42:16.580 And they that have believing masters or bosses in our culture,
00:42:19.900 let them not despise them because they are brethren.
00:42:21.860 Don't take advantage of your boss because he's a Christian
00:42:23.680 and you know he's going to be nice to you.
00:42:27.040 You hear that, everybody in the coffee shop?
00:42:29.000 Okay, but rather do them service because they are faithful
00:42:32.140 and beloved partakers of the benefit.
00:42:35.360 These things teach and exhort.
00:42:37.180 If any man teach otherwise and consent not to wholesome words,
00:42:41.060 even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ
00:42:42.880 into the doctrine which is according to godliness,
00:42:45.200 he is proud, knowing nothing,
00:42:47.540 but doting about questions and strifes of words,
00:42:50.300 whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
00:42:53.800 perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds,
00:42:55.740 and destitute of the truth,
00:42:57.660 supposing that gain is godliness,
00:43:00.040 from such withdraw thyself.
00:43:02.560 So here we're getting into another scenario
00:43:04.680 where we need to judge.
00:43:05.960 From such withdraw thyself.
00:43:08.100 He lays out all of these things that they're like,
00:43:10.380 all of the characteristics of these. This is in the church, right? Supposing that gain is godliness
00:43:16.900 from such withdraw thyself. Can we pull it up in the NLT also? Because I feel like it kind of hits
00:43:23.020 hard on this topic. I got it here too. Let me just get it on the... It's very interesting how
00:43:31.500 this gets unpacked dude it says it like this it says uh all slaves should show full respect to
00:43:42.040 their masters so they will not bring shame on the name of god and his teaching if the masters are
00:43:48.020 believers that's no excuse for being disrespectful those slaves should work all the harder because
00:43:52.560 their efforts are helping other believers who are well loved teach these things timothy and
00:43:57.120 encourage everyone to obey them. Some people may contradict our teaching, but these are the
00:44:01.660 wholesome teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. That's Paul speaking. I see you. These teachings
00:44:08.780 promote a godly life. Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding.
00:44:13.880 Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. Isn't this wild?
00:44:20.700 This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions.
00:44:27.240 These people always cause trouble.
00:44:29.200 Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth.
00:44:32.460 To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy.
00:44:38.460 Bro, can you believe that this says that 2,000 years ago?
00:44:41.940 To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy.
00:44:46.540 From such, withdraw thyself.
00:44:49.720 bro so that's saying like where you see people that are just using christianity for wealth
00:44:56.200 get away from those people that's an area where we're supposed to judge
00:45:02.520 okay if we go that's what i'm saying so we're going to stay quiet i guess what do you mean
00:45:06.680 what do you want to say exactly that what you're like about to explode over there what's going on
00:45:13.080 no because you keep telling me no but then you read then you read a a section of scripture here
00:45:18.120 that says yeah no judge that that's exactly what this person's doing that's fine and your little
00:45:23.080 sphere judge that on the entirety of the internet you're just going to drive yourself mad dude
00:45:28.840 paul's not talking to people in a day where there's an internet and they know the wickedness
00:45:32.520 that's happening in california and scotland and australia and that right of course this is
00:45:38.040 applying to like your little sphere that you live in is there somebody who's policing the entire
00:45:43.240 internet i don't know i don't know the entire internet this is specifically your little sphere
00:45:47.640 that you live in what okay what are you talking about because now i'm not sure never mind never
00:45:53.140 mind yeah i don't live in the same sphere as you guys do no i don't you got invited to the same
00:45:57.140 events it doesn't matter dude my space is this little bible space dude i'm just preaching the
00:46:01.640 gospel you guys are in with the palladians and the lizard people and the grays like i don't know
00:46:06.440 all the stuff with all the people and all the different stuff dude
00:46:09.080 okay two tim three verses one through five we're gonna do it again this know also that in the last
00:46:17.400 days perilous time shall come for men shall be lovers of their own selves covetous boasters proud
00:46:22.780 blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful unholy without natural affection truce breakers
00:46:28.620 false accusers incontinent fierce despisers of those that are good traitors heady high-minded
00:46:33.620 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of god having a form of godliness that's how we know
00:46:39.620 this is in the church he's talking about also it has to be in the church because this is always in
00:46:45.020 the world. Like there's no time period that this isn't part of in the world. He says this know
00:46:50.680 that in the last days, perilous, which is the same word as fierce, talking about the demoniac,
00:46:55.640 won't get into that. This know that in the last days, fierce time shall come. All of this will
00:47:00.400 be in the church, dude, because they have a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. And
00:47:05.740 then this is his counsel to them from such, from those who are part of the church and behaving like
00:47:10.820 that. From such, turn away. It's another example of where we got to judge, man. All right, let's
00:47:17.900 look at another. So we've already said we need to judge in the church, right? Now we're going
00:47:24.000 to get into judging ourselves. This is in 1 Corinthians 11. This is a little bit different
00:47:30.160 today. This is almost like rapid fire, shorter passages. 1 Corinthians 11, 20. Is this NLT too?
00:47:38.300 You got it in NLT?
00:47:39.600 1 Corinthians 11, 20.
00:47:42.720 I just feel like some of these, it's nicer in like the clearer language.
00:47:51.720 20 to what?
00:47:53.260 Going all the way to the end, which I think is 34.
00:47:58.380 Yeah.
00:48:04.160 You got it?
00:48:05.940 Okay, go ahead.
00:48:06.820 when you meet together you're really not interested in the lord's supper
00:48:10.700 for some of you hurry to eat your own meal without sharing with others as a result some go hungry
00:48:18.000 while others get drunk okay it looks like the um tradition if you will in the early church was that
00:48:22.980 when they would get together for communion to receive the body and blood of christ they would
00:48:28.560 have a meal together and then do it it looks like that was the context there which is beautiful
00:48:32.880 that's lovely it's not it doesn't it never says you have to do it that way but it looks like that's
00:48:38.040 how the early church was doing it the corinthians anyway they're bringing their own lunch well they
00:48:43.720 were getting together almost it feels like potluck vibes but no matter what or maybe maybe the wealthy
00:48:48.300 people in the church were providing it i don't know i would guess i would hope that i'd actually
00:48:52.660 hope that i hope that like the wealthy people in the church are like hey we'll buy all the food
00:48:55.860 and alcohol because it looks like there's alcohol there just different in other cultures than it is
00:49:00.900 here so we went to get into all that he said oh no it's not alcohol he says they're getting drunk
00:49:05.140 so i don't know how it could not be alcohol and then you have this issue of getting drunk because
00:49:09.480 sometimes they say oh it's grape juice uh like you don't get drunk off grape juice so
00:49:14.380 i don't i don't know that's kind of open you know that's that's the beautiful thing that there's
00:49:19.300 freedom in christ right that you can you can kind of do these things there's freedom in it's like
00:49:23.480 yeah if you want to take the body and blood of christ together uh as the church as the body of
00:49:28.280 christ and your little sphere that you're in it's that's a cool way to do it is with a meal you want
00:49:31.980 to do it after the end of like announcements five songs in a speech that's okay too like there's
00:49:35.920 freedom you can do it that way but it looks like this way they were getting together and because
00:49:40.640 people were uh like self-serving some of them were hurrying to eat you got it it was so they
00:49:46.200 were like getting together and they were being self-serving they were hurrying to eat so some
00:49:50.960 people were being hungry some of you hurry to eat your own meal without sharing with others
00:49:55.980 So maybe there's a limited amount of food.
00:49:57.540 I know we don't understand that today, but maybe there's a limited amount of food.
00:50:00.340 So they're like eating it before other people get to eat.
00:50:03.000 And as a result, some go hungry while others get drunk.
00:50:07.460 What?
00:50:07.980 Don't you have your own homes for eating and drinking?
00:50:10.040 Or do you really want to disgrace God's church and shame the poor?
00:50:14.360 Yeah, because maybe the wealthy were like eating everything up and not even sharing
00:50:17.220 with the poor people who don't have food at home.
00:50:19.300 What am I supposed to say?
00:50:20.680 Do you want me to praise you?
00:50:21.920 Well, I certainly will not praise you for this.
00:50:23.580 for i pass on to you what i received from the lord himself so paul got this from jesus himself
00:50:31.200 on the night when he was betrayed the lord jesus took some bread
00:50:34.660 and gave thanks to god for it then he broke it in pieces and said this is my body which is given
00:50:40.900 for you do this in remembrance of me in the same way he took the cup of wine after supper saying
00:50:46.840 this cup is the new covenant between god and his people i think some people don't like the word new
00:50:51.700 covenant, but it says it right there. This cup is the new covenant between God and his people
00:50:55.740 in agreement, confirm with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.
00:51:02.580 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord's death until
00:51:07.780 he comes again. So you're announcing this. I know that people were like, you know, baptism,
00:51:12.460 it's an outward sign of an inward something. And so you do it and you have to show a lot of people,
00:51:17.320 right? Well, you know, the Ethiopian eunuch, it doesn't look like there was a big crowd,
00:51:21.320 like watching him get baptized or whatever. But I believe that baptism is a showing as well.
00:51:28.000 And taking the body and blood of Christ is a showing as well. It's not just to humans though,
00:51:33.040 it's to the entire unseen realm that's watching this as if to say like, he's on that team now,
00:51:38.260 like he's definitely on that team. And we're showing that we're showing our faith in that
00:51:42.560 until he returns again, we're knowing that that's his body and his blood broken and shed for us
00:51:47.780 because of the new covenant that we're in with him. We're in this covenant with him,
00:51:51.440 and we're showing that to all of the seen and the unseen realm that we're with Jesus.
00:51:57.220 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning
00:52:03.240 against the body and blood of the Lord. That's why this passage should be taught every time at
00:52:10.540 church before they do communion. That is why you should examine yourself, judge yourself
00:52:15.420 before eating the bread and drinking the cup. Because if you eat the bread or drink the cup
00:52:22.440 without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God's judgment upon yourself.
00:52:27.400 This is too heavy, dude. That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died.
00:52:34.620 But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.
00:52:41.580 As if to say, you can judge yourself or God can judge you.
00:52:45.480 You better judge yourself.
00:52:47.740 Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
00:52:55.400 So, my dear brothers and sisters, when you gather for the Lord's Supper, wait for each other.
00:53:01.020 It's what it's always about, man.
00:53:02.260 Make everybody else more important than you.
00:53:04.620 If you are really hungry, eat at home so you don't bring judgment upon yourselves when
00:53:08.680 you meet together.
00:53:09.760 I'll give you instructions about the other matters after I arrive.
00:53:13.980 So we've got-
00:53:16.340 This is a little different than what you do in a church, though.
00:53:19.480 What do you mean?
00:53:20.680 In a church, like they have a company that pre-packages this stuff.
00:53:24.340 Like it's like a tiny cracker and a sip of juice.
00:53:27.360 Yeah, it's like a drive-thru.
00:53:28.160 This is not a-
00:53:29.560 Yeah, but it's not a gathering and eating in remembrance of.
00:53:33.340 this is that's more of like a weird symbolic gesture this is a breaking of actual breaking
00:53:39.980 of bread where people are communing together and really maybe even talking about it and
00:53:45.000 remembering the thing yes it's different yes and it really feels like almost like an eastern
00:53:50.660 style meal like you know when you go to europe people grabbing stuff with their hands yeah well
00:53:56.220 just your which i know you don't like which is fine don't do that okay i like to eat with my
00:54:00.120 hands, dude. I don't care. But, uh, you know, when you're in Europe, you're saying like,
00:54:04.260 how are these people have three hours to eat a meal? This is, this is madness. Four hours to
00:54:08.580 eat a meal. Like I don't like in America, we're like, no, no, we don't have that much time to
00:54:11.780 eat a meal. But like in that culture, they take this time, they're eating, they're going slow.
00:54:16.560 One food comes out and a little later, another food comes out. Then a little later, another
00:54:20.760 food comes out. You know, it'd be cool if there was this idea where you, where you had like this
00:54:25.160 long lasting communication together about the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, not just
00:54:31.400 about the ball game and how much money you make and how your stocks are doing, but actually about
00:54:34.760 like things pertaining to the kingdom of God. And you met as a family, you had a long meal.
00:54:39.580 And after all of that, like closeness, right? Imagine you're so close. If you spend that much
00:54:43.980 time having a meal together, then you partake of the body and blood of Christ. That goes hard,
00:54:49.900 man. That would be very cool. And maybe it's not like, you know, you think about like that type of
00:54:55.040 meal that four-hour meal and it's almost like in america we've turned that into i think this is
00:55:00.160 what you're getting at like going through the drive-through and ordering a happy meal
00:55:03.380 no what i'm saying package i'm saying literally the communion there is a company that makes now
00:55:10.920 like a tiny cup of juice and then it's separated and a little wafer and and then you peel the
00:55:18.540 hermetically sealed package and everybody does that and it takes about three minutes yeah it's
00:55:23.400 like going through the drive-through the pre-packaged meal they had a mcdonald's style
00:55:27.420 company if you will make a bunch of pre-packaged things yeah and instead of this being this four
00:55:32.380 hour meal with family and it's very meaningful and we're getting to the heart of life man and
00:55:36.560 we're sharing life with one another the way a family shares life together we're just going to
00:55:40.640 drive through the drive-through and get the mcdonald's happy meal it's kind of right wouldn't
00:55:45.520 that be a fair kind of description of what it you know what it feels like at least at least in the
00:55:50.040 happy meal like you're getting the toy you get a toy there's like more than one fry this isn't even
00:55:56.120 it's not a meal it's not even what they're doing well they're not saying that the that specifically
00:56:00.700 the bread and the wine it i don't think that they're saying like we're eating this meal in
00:56:06.420 the meal itself is the communion that might have been a part of the meal yeah they're doing that
00:56:11.520 but then they are specifically taking bread the way jesus said saying and he said this is my body
00:56:17.760 like let's all remember this and he said this is my blood let's all remember this i don't think the
00:56:22.220 meal itself was the communion if you will but i think it was but it was all together i mean you
00:56:26.480 did a whole episode on like eating and drinking and when they called jesus a wine bibber and a
00:56:30.880 glutton because he was out there eating and drinking that's an important way to communicate
00:56:34.520 with people and to actually commune with them well in the context is passover right they were having
00:56:40.320 the passover meal when this happened so that's probably why they were having this meal together
00:56:45.780 like this, right? Because the context was the Passover meal, but they had the Passover meal.
00:56:50.580 And then he had the bread as a separate thing, a specific thing from the meal and the wine as a
00:56:56.500 specific thing from the meal and said, this is what this is. This is what this is representative
00:57:01.020 of. Do this in memory of me. Right. So I don't know like what else, maybe they ate like beans
00:57:06.760 and salad and stuff like all that wasn't part of the communion, but wrapped up in that meal.
00:57:11.940 I mean, that would be the context. If you said, no, communion should always be at a meal.
00:57:15.780 because at the last supper, if you will, that was the Passover meal.
00:57:22.760 I don't know.
00:57:23.580 You're saying we should get back to that, like have a meal together
00:57:25.900 and then do the communion?
00:57:27.920 Maybe.
00:57:28.600 I don't know.
00:57:29.140 Yeah, because the thing where you just peel the thing
00:57:31.100 and it's not even really food, it's this weird little wafer and grape juice,
00:57:34.800 does feel a little cheap, doesn't it?
00:57:37.020 It just feels weird.
00:57:38.060 What if somebody made the bread, labored over the bread,
00:57:41.280 made it a really good bread, man?
00:57:43.020 I think it's cool.
00:57:43.720 I think it's cool that you do it no matter what.
00:57:47.760 But yeah, there probably should be more to that.
00:57:50.460 And I think what this is saying is the main thing, though, is examine yourself before you do it.
00:57:55.000 If you want to do it like a McDonald's drive-thru, that's not as dangerous as not examining yourself before you partake of it.
00:58:01.740 Sure.
00:58:02.980 Sure.
00:58:04.340 Okay.
00:58:05.080 All right.
00:58:05.440 So where are we at?
00:58:06.420 Revelation 3, 14 through 17.
00:58:08.080 remember the context here is we've got to take inventory of ourselves we've got to judge
00:58:15.420 ourselves this is what jesus is saying in the church of laodicea and under the angel of the
00:58:20.900 church of the laodiceans right these things say at the amen the faithful and true witness the
00:58:25.020 beginning of the creation of god i know thy works that you are neither cold nor hot i would that
00:58:29.780 you were cold or hot so then because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot i will spew
00:58:34.360 thee out of my mouth. Here's the issue. Because you say I am rich and increased with goods
00:58:40.500 and have need of nothing and know it's not that you are wretched and miserable and poor, blind,
00:58:47.040 and naked. He's saying you don't know your own state. You think that you're rich, increased with
00:58:56.000 goods and have need of nothing. And you don't even know that you're wretched, miserable, poor,
00:59:00.360 blind, and naked, right? This is why we've got to take inventory of ourselves.
00:59:06.280 This passage is saying you're held accountable for knowing yourself.
00:59:10.560 That's what he's saying. He's saying you guys say that you're rich and increase with goods and add
00:59:15.440 need of nothing. Jesus is saying, but I'm holding you accountable for knowing yourself. You don't
00:59:21.420 know that you're actually wretched and miserable, poor, blind, and naked, right? So the whole idea
00:59:27.860 here is we've got to be judging ourselves if we look at uh matthew 16 1 through 3 this is another
00:59:34.560 thing i kind of i don't even know if this is in the notes dude i kind of had this last minute i
00:59:39.100 was just thinking about other areas where jesus is saying yeah you should be you should be aware
00:59:43.060 you should be knowing you should be judging about this it's a weird one man he says uh the pharisees
00:59:50.280 also with the sadducees see that's wild they're enemies and they still group together just because
00:59:55.420 they hated jesus the enemy of my enemies my friend like they had beef but in hating jesus
01:00:00.640 they had like unity the pharisees also with the sadducees came and tempting desired him
01:00:05.760 that he would show them a sign from heaven he answered and said unto them when it's evening
01:00:10.840 you say it will be fair weather for the sky is red did you see the portal in the sky this morning
01:00:16.620 yeah yeah al sent it to us is that crazy uh jess sent it to me and she said it looks like it's a
01:00:23.080 hologram from like where the moon is glowing at it looks like there's a hologram going from the moon
01:00:28.320 and like putting that on the sky that was the craziest looking thing dude there was there was
01:00:33.640 not one other uh cloud in the sky either which was very weird and so what was it it was spacex
01:00:39.920 yeah it was a space launch uh it's just elon musk dinging up the firmament
01:00:44.660 you think he hit the firmament yeah dude that looked outrageous whatever that was that looked
01:00:51.200 outrageous i think he hit he hits it all the time i got some uh pictures and some video of it just
01:00:56.280 because i was going out doing farm work and then uh jess sent me some pictures because she was at
01:01:01.960 brownwood and was like dude look at the sky this is crazy and then al sent it it was like what the
01:01:07.380 heck man yeah what do you think he just shot it well what was the narrative the narrative is that
01:01:12.860 they were just shooting a rocket into space uh they do it all the time they shoot it up and it
01:01:16.560 like blows up or something and you'll see like that weird mark in the sky that was that's probably
01:01:22.040 the largest that i've seen i didn't get to see it in real life but it was very weird and the glow on
01:01:27.380 it was very weird dude it was very strange like where the glow there was a straight line from like
01:01:33.840 it was north you know it was like north uh and it was very low in the sky and it was like this
01:01:40.040 straight line it was like the batman thing you know when the batman puts the thing up and it
01:01:44.580 shoots the thing up just so you see the bat yeah it looked like that it looked like a thing
01:01:48.320 projecting that it was very weird bro and then right when i was like what the heck is this then
01:01:54.680 al sent the thing i was like it's a spacex so why wouldn't there be a line if it was a rocket
01:01:59.700 i thought when there's a rocket launch there's like the whole line where the rocket goes i don't
01:02:03.440 know it's just some big that was weird bro okay sorry to go off the rails but that was very weird
01:02:08.560 He answered and said unto them, when it is evening, you say, it will be fair weather
01:02:13.540 because the sky is red.
01:02:15.360 And in the morning, it will be foul weather today for the sky is red and lowering, right?
01:02:21.420 He's saying like, you know how to read the sky.
01:02:24.040 When you see a red sky at evening, that means you're going to have good weather.
01:02:28.620 When you see a red sky in the morning, that means it's going to be bad weather.
01:02:32.380 Oh, you hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky, but can you not discern the signs
01:02:37.640 of the times. So there's another interesting thought in here, which is that we are held
01:02:42.280 accountable to judge the day that we live in, to understand the day and discern the day that we
01:02:47.900 live in. That's an interesting thought too. We are held accountable to have an idea of the day
01:02:54.860 that we live in. Like they were being held accountable to understand that this was the day
01:02:58.420 of the visitation of the Messiah. They were held accountable for that. That's a very specific day.
01:03:03.020 That's a very specific time, which feels like that would be, they would much more need to know to discern that day, right?
01:03:10.540 But I think there's an application to all of us to understand the day that we live in, right?
01:03:15.100 So we need to judge that.
01:03:16.840 All right, John 7, if we look at verses 21 through 24, it says this.
01:03:33.020 it says,
01:03:35.280 Jesus answered and said unto them,
01:03:38.960 I have done one work and ye all marvel.
01:03:41.860 Ye all marvel.
01:03:43.220 Ye all.
01:03:43.980 He healed somebody, right?
01:03:45.440 Yeah.
01:03:45.820 That's what this is about.
01:03:46.540 He healed somebody.
01:03:47.840 They hate him for healing people,
01:03:50.220 typically on the Sabbath.
01:03:51.120 He says,
01:03:52.300 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision.
01:03:55.040 This is an interesting passage.
01:03:56.500 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision.
01:03:58.860 He's talking about in the law of Moses.
01:04:00.340 Moses gave you circumcision.
01:04:01.800 Not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers.
01:04:04.440 So this is making a reference to pre-law, right?
01:04:07.800 Circumcision came about before the law, right?
01:04:11.640 Abraham, the fathers, everybody, you know, the law doesn't pick up until Moses, right?
01:04:16.560 Not because it is of the law of Moses, but of the fathers.
01:04:20.380 And you on the Sabbath day still circumcise a man.
01:04:24.420 If a man on the Sabbath day receives circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken.
01:04:29.020 are you angry at me because i have made a man every whit hole on the sabbath day if the idea
01:04:34.860 is that the circumcision is this making a man whole he's saying that just has to do with his
01:04:40.180 wiener like i just made a man every whit hole his entire body you guys do it just in regards to that
01:04:46.720 look what i'm doing it in regards to the whole body to the whole life
01:04:50.340 and this is this is his final takeaway on it judge not according to the appearance
01:04:54.800 but judge righteous judgment
01:04:57.020 it seems like that's like the ultimate word
01:04:59.380 on this topic
01:05:00.080 and it is alluding to something
01:05:03.320 that righteous judgment is not
01:05:05.140 according to appearance
01:05:06.240 judge not according to the appearance
01:05:09.140 but judge righteous judgment
01:05:10.940 as if to say appearance
01:05:12.740 is not a safe gauge for judging
01:05:15.440 judge righteous judgment
01:05:17.360 let's see here
01:05:21.280 John 8, 14-16
01:05:23.560 gets into the same thing, too. Jesus answered and said unto them, though I bear record of myself,
01:05:29.680 yet my record is true, because I know where I come and where I go. But you cannot tell where
01:05:34.600 I come and where I go. You judge after the flesh. I judge no man. And yet if I do judge,
01:05:40.880 my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I and the Father that has sent me.
01:05:47.720 So we just read, don't judge after the flesh. Don't judge after the appearance.
01:05:52.600 Seek God's perspective in all your judgment.
01:05:55.320 Even Jesus did that.
01:05:56.620 That's what he's saying.
01:05:57.180 Even Jesus did that.
01:05:58.860 And that's exactly what we get into in verse 6 that we're reading when we're saying,
01:06:03.660 okay, don't judge.
01:06:05.340 Don't go looking for moats in your brother's eye.
01:06:08.720 Okay, but then you do have to judge when it comes to judging in the church,
01:06:12.620 judging yourself, judging about dogs and swine in verse 6.
01:06:17.280 So how do you do that?
01:06:18.820 It's verse 7.
01:06:19.640 ask and it shall be given you seek and you shall find knock and it shall be opened unto you
01:06:23.400 you need God for this right even Jesus did in verse 16 yet if I judge my judgment is true
01:06:29.060 because I am not alone but I am the father that sent me right so that's how we that's how we
01:06:35.000 judge right is seek God's counsel in this so righteous judgment uh requires Matthew 7 7 right
01:06:43.100 let me see the board clearly right let me see my brothers and sisters in truth like in reality for
01:06:49.320 what they are and how God sees them. This is really what we're talking about. We're talking
01:06:54.160 about like judgment is like, God, let me see people how you see them. Let me see the board
01:06:58.620 clearly for what it is. I don't want to be not judging when it comes to dogs and pigs. Like
01:07:04.760 you're telling me I need to be aware of that. You're telling me I need to judge myself. You're
01:07:08.140 telling me I need to judge within the church. God, I can't do that in my own strength. Like
01:07:12.400 I can't be trusted for that. And I don't know. Maybe that's a maturity thing too. Maybe there's
01:07:17.180 a lot of people were like, yeah, I can be trusted for that. I'm so sharp and I'm so right. I'm so
01:07:21.820 good. I can judge everybody and everything else. But somewhere in the journey, you realize like,
01:07:26.280 no, I can't. No, I can't. Like we need God for this. All right. Which is the same concept as
01:07:32.960 Matthew 19. I don't know if you got this. You got Matthew 19, 23. Yep. Okay. It says this.
01:07:40.820 it says uh then said jesus and his disciples verily i say unto you that a rich man shall
01:07:47.320 hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven and again i say unto you it's easier for a camel to go through
01:07:53.800 the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of god we can all argue about
01:07:58.020 what that means the eye of the needle if it's a gate you know in jerusalem to get in they had to
01:08:02.280 take everything off the back of the camel to go through the point is it's hard that's hard as long
01:08:06.460 as you got that point is it's hard and the topic is that it's size it's it's size that you that
01:08:11.800 camel has to make itself smaller to go through the eye of a needle it's a size thing to make
01:08:16.800 yourself small puffed up yes when his disciples heard it they were exceedingly amazed saying who
01:08:24.080 then can be saved i just feel like this is this is so in line with this is like well who can judge
01:08:28.280 then like judge not don't judge you're gonna be who can judge then the rich man can't be saved
01:08:35.000 well, who can be saved? Somebody who works hard and has a lot of money can't be saved. Who can
01:08:39.840 be saved then? This is what it says. But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, with men, this
01:08:45.000 is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. That's exactly what we're getting at
01:08:49.360 is don't judge, but you do have to judge. How are we going to do this, God? This is too hard. Okay.
01:08:54.640 Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened unto
01:08:58.980 you. That's the context. All right, now we're going to roll into verses three through five.
01:09:05.860 That was just verses one and two. Verse three says this, and why beholdest thou the moat that
01:09:13.060 is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye? Or how will you
01:09:17.840 say to your brother, let me pull out the moat out of your own eye, and behold, a beam is in your own
01:09:22.400 eye. You hypocrite. First cast out the beam out of your own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly
01:09:29.280 to cast out the moat out of thy brother's eye. So verse three is saying, watch this.
01:09:34.280 Why behold thou the moat that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your
01:09:40.740 own eye. So verse three is saying plainly that people that find moats in other people
01:09:46.340 people are going looking for moats because they have a beam in their eye. That's what that's
01:09:53.080 saying. He doesn't even leave room for you to find a moat in somebody else without having a
01:09:58.700 beam in your eye. He doesn't even leave room for that. Why behold the moat that is in your brother's
01:10:04.260 eye, but consider that maybe you have a beam in your own eye? He doesn't say maybe. He says,
01:10:10.060 why behold the moat that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your
01:10:14.200 own eye. The only reason you're finding motes in somebody else's eye is because you have a beam in
01:10:18.900 your own eye. Wow. Your eye's not single is really what he's saying. How much have we talked about
01:10:26.840 the single eye, right? The beam is causing cloudy vision and cloudy perspective, right? This ability
01:10:34.100 to just find fault in others, man. It's because you have a beam in your eye, right? Because we're
01:10:40.020 supposed to be looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, right? Not looking unto
01:10:44.580 motes in other people's eyes, little specks of dust in other people's eyes.
01:10:49.500 This is a maturity thing too, man. Let's look at Isaiah 6, 1 through 8, and then I think maybe
01:10:54.660 we'll wrap up on this because we still have a lot of notes left, but we'll have a nice little head
01:11:00.100 start for next week. Isaiah 6, 1 through 8 says something like incredibly staggering. It says,
01:11:08.740 go ahead, if you want to.
01:11:11.280 In the year that King Uzziah
01:11:12.860 died, I saw also the Lord
01:11:14.860 sitting upon a throne, high and lifted
01:11:16.940 up, and his train filled the temple. I love
01:11:18.980 this scripture. Above it, you want to
01:11:20.900 read it? Go ahead. No, go ahead. Okay, above it,
01:11:22.700 you want to read it? Go ahead, man. No, you read it.
01:11:24.860 Okay. Above it stood the seraphims.
01:11:28.760 Each
01:11:29.120 one had six wings. With 0.88
01:11:30.960 two he covered his face, and with
01:11:33.040 two he covered his feet, and with two he
01:11:34.920 did fly. It's a wild thing.
01:11:36.920 So in the year the King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up
01:11:43.500 and his train filled the temple. This is what's going on in that space. Above it stood the
01:11:49.980 seraphims. Each one had six wings with two. He covered his face, right? With two, he covered
01:11:54.640 his feet and with two, he did fly. And one cried unto another and said, holy, holy, holy is the
01:12:02.360 lord of hosts the whole earth is full of his glory i mean we could unpack this for centuries right
01:12:08.000 but we're not going to do that and the post of the door moved at the voice of him that cried
01:12:12.340 and the house was filled with smoke this is isaiah's go smoke machines stop it this is what
01:12:19.320 isaiah says then said i woe is everybody else no no no no he he gets close to god he does not say
01:12:30.820 woe is everybody else he judges himself dude i'm just telling you man like when you get close to
01:12:38.900 god i'm not saying it happens in the early game like in the early stages of christianity
01:12:43.960 i'm just saying like as you go along you get closer and closer to god you kind of lose this
01:12:50.600 whole like woe is everybody else thing you kind of lose the whole like woe is the jews or like
01:12:55.800 woe is the people in the other uh political party than me or like woe is the other people
01:13:02.100 in my church right like you just when it comes to people you don't really look at them so much
01:13:07.680 and go oh man woe is them you get to this place where you're like god woe is me like this is
01:13:13.120 what's happening in the presence of god like in the presence of god he says woe is me he's lost
01:13:18.140 all sight of everybody else and all the bad and all the wrong everybody else is doing woe is me
01:13:23.680 because I'm undone, because I'm a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of
01:13:29.420 unclean lips. For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. That was the effect it had on him.
01:13:34.180 He saw the King, the Lord of hosts, and the effect on him is, woe is me, not everybody else, man, me.
01:13:41.140 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with
01:13:46.060 the tongs from off the altar. And he said, he laid it upon my mouth and said, lo, this hath touched
01:13:52.500 thy lips and thy iniquity is taken away and thy sin purged. Also, I heard the voice of the Lord
01:13:58.500 saying, who shall I send and who will go for us? Then said I, here am I, send me. In verse nine,
01:14:06.360 real quickly, and he said, go. So like the sin issue has to be dealt with before he can fulfill
01:14:11.880 his potential. Verse nine, you get all the way to verse nine until God says, go, right? The sin
01:14:17.500 issue, the beam, if you will, the beam has to be dealt with before he can fulfill his potential or
01:14:22.920 what he's called to. Right. So we'll wrap up on that, man. The main point is like, as you get
01:14:29.220 closer to God, as you get in this process, you're going to find out that like, you're not so
01:14:34.960 concerned with everybody else. You're concerned with your own sin. You're concerned with your
01:14:39.020 own shortcomings. You become much more aware and much more concerned of the ugliness and like the
01:14:43.920 filthiness, I don't know, and the corruption that's in yourself. You become much more aware
01:14:48.660 of that. Maybe in the early stage, you don't really notice all that. But as time goes on
01:14:53.100 and you get closer and closer to God, this is what happens, man. You say, woe is me.
01:15:13.920 Thank you.
