00:00:00.000 You're a man of action. You live life to the fullest. Embrace your fears and boldly chart
00:00:05.000 your own path. When life knocks you down, you get back up one more time. Every time.
00:00:10.500 You are not easily deterred or defeated. Rugged. Resilient. Strong. This is your life. This is who
00:00:17.240 you are. This is who you will become. At the end of the day, and after all is said and done,
00:00:22.800 you can call yourself a man. Gentlemen, what is going on today? My name is Ryan
00:00:27.540 Mickler, and I am the host and the founder of this podcast and this movement here at Order
00:00:32.180 of Man, which is to reclaim and restore what it means to be a man in a society that I think
00:00:37.620 seems to be more and more rejecting it, dismissing it, mocking it, ridiculing it, and just frankly
00:00:43.300 just has lost their way when it comes to what it means to be a man. How a man shows up for
00:00:48.980 his family, how a man shows up for his business, his community members, his neighbors, just
00:00:53.000 his life in general. And it's been my goal over the past three and a half, almost four
00:00:57.520 years now to restore exactly what that means, to talk about what that means, and then to
00:01:03.340 invite incredible men onto this podcast. Entrepreneurs, athletes, scholars, New York
00:01:08.600 Times bestselling authors, men who are doing incredible things in their lives and extracting
00:01:13.900 some of their wisdom and their ideas about what it means to be a man and why they're showing
00:01:17.500 up and how they're showing up so that you and me and everybody else who listen to this
00:01:20.580 podcast can be a better father, husband, business owner, community leader, every facet of their
00:01:26.260 life. So I'm glad you're here, whether you've tuned in just recently, or you're here for
00:01:30.560 the first time, or you've been with us for three and a half years, we need more guys in
00:01:33.700 this fight. We really do. We need more husbands. We need more fathers, more members of the
00:01:39.220 community, more leaders. We just need men in this fight. And I'm grateful if you shared
00:01:44.020 this episode or this podcast, I'm grateful if you've left a rating review. If you haven't
00:01:49.240 done those things, I would ask very humbly that you go ahead and take care of those
00:01:52.160 things. The more that you leave a rating review, the more that you share this with the men
00:01:55.640 in your life, the more that we are able to get the message out. And the way that it helps
00:02:00.700 you is that we will continue to get some incredible guests on the podcast. If you haven't listened
00:02:06.060 to these episodes, we've got guys like Ed Milet, Jocko Willink, Andy Frisilla, Tim Kennedy,
00:02:10.820 Grant Cardone, man, I've just had some incredible, incredible guests. And I've got some very,
00:02:15.540 very powerful episodes coming soon. Now that's our interview show. If you are tuning
00:02:19.720 in for the first time, this is our Friday field notes. Basically you get to listen to
00:02:24.140 me. You get to hear me talk about some things that I've been thinking about over the past
00:02:29.420 week. And I think I've got a good one lined up for you today. There's this word that I
00:02:32.880 came across and obviously I know what the word is, but as I read it in a book and I can't
00:02:38.200 even tell you what book I was reading, it really hit me. It hit me hard. And that word
00:02:42.680 is stewardship, stewardship. And if you really look into what that means and what it means
00:02:47.800 to be a steward, I think this is actually the embodiment of everything that I've been
00:02:52.020 talking about for the past nearly four years now is that men are to be good stewards over
00:02:57.620 their resources. So I'm going to talk with you about that today, what it means to be a
00:03:01.880 good steward. I'm going to talk with you about why this stuck me and why I feel like it's so
00:03:06.440 important that we talk about. And then I want to share with you five tips, five, I don't
00:03:11.380 want to say strategies necessarily, but key points, bullet points to remember when it
00:03:15.880 comes to being a good steward in your life, in the lives of the people that you're, you're
00:03:20.540 working to serve. All right. Before I get too much more into that, I do want to make a
00:03:24.720 mention of our show sponsors and my friends over at origin, Maine guys, if you haven't
00:03:29.240 checked them out, I know a lot of you have, I would highly, highly encourage that you go
00:03:33.500 do that. They've got hoodies, they've got lifestyle apparel. It's warm stuff too, because
00:03:38.420 they live in Maine and their factories in Maine. So they've got to have warm stuff.
00:03:41.880 Go check that out. Also their geese, if you're into jujitsu, rash guards, and then they've
00:03:46.800 got their supplemental lineup with Jocko, which is, I use the super krill, the joint warfare,
00:03:54.380 their pre-workout discipline, the protein, mulk, and I even have the warrior kids mulk,
00:04:00.640 chocolate and strawberry for my, my young warriors and athletes. So guys go check it out. If that
00:04:06.120 sounds of any of interest to you, you can head to origin, Maine.com origin and the state
00:04:11.160 Maine.com, and then use the code order or D E R at checkout for a 10% discount. Again,
00:04:19.020 origin, Maine.com order at checkout. All right, guys, let's talk about this again. The word
00:04:23.580 of the day, if you will, is stewardship and being a good steward. It's important guys. I
00:04:28.980 don't know what else to say. I mean, it truly is. It's, it's, it's critical that we learn
00:04:33.120 to be good stewards over ourselves. And even to break that down further, our bodies,
00:04:38.140 our minds, our souls. I mean, there's been times in my life where I have let those three
00:04:41.900 components go. I've let my body go. I haven't continued to develop my mind and learn new
00:04:46.460 skills and gain education and knowledge. I've let the spiritual side of my life go at times.
00:04:51.700 And I'm telling you every time that I've let these elements of my life go, it's been more
00:04:56.940 difficult. That's it. Bottom line. It's been more difficult for myself and those I'm trying
00:05:01.300 to serve when I let those components of my life go. So first and foremost, you've got
00:05:05.400 to be a steward over yourself, but a man I believe is also a great steward over his family,
00:05:12.220 over his neighbors, his land, even public land, which is why I think hunting and being a conservationist
00:05:19.500 is so important because we need to be able to conserve our public lands and the resources
00:05:24.540 that we have for not only ourselves, but for future generations. This is our role. This is
00:05:29.440 our responsibility. And so when I'm talking about what does it mean to be a good steward,
00:05:33.480 I'm talking about a guardian, a protector, somebody who takes the resources that he has
00:05:40.560 access to or has a responsibility and obligation for and handles those things with care and utilizes
00:05:46.700 them and harnesses the resources he has for the productive outcome for himself. And again,
00:05:53.360 those he's trying to serve. It's employees. It's your team members. It's your neighborhood.
00:05:57.200 It's the kids on your team that you're happening to be coaching. You have a responsibility and an
00:06:03.700 obligation as a man to be a good steward over the things that you've been given. And here's
00:06:09.240 the interesting thing about this. The better steward that you are, the more that you're going
00:06:14.100 to reap the benefits or multiply the resources you have. I'll give you the opposite example of what
00:06:20.120 I'm talking about here. If you think about lottery winners, and I know we just had this big
00:06:24.240 Powerball winnings and it was over a billion dollars or whatever it was. I don't know exactly.
00:06:29.260 But if you look at the statistics for the people who win lotteries, and I'm talking about 10,
00:06:34.520 a hundred million plus lottery winners, these people on average lose their earnings, lose their
00:06:42.720 money. I shouldn't even say earnings. They lose their winnings, their money within a period of
00:06:48.720 roughly four years. Same thing that happens with life insurance, death benefits within four years.
00:06:54.340 On average, those benefits, those winnings are completely used. And I'll tell you why it's
00:07:01.880 because the people who have a death benefit, for example, or the people who win the lottery have
00:07:07.480 not earned that. And because they have not earned it, they haven't really figured out how to be a good
00:07:13.300 steward over the resources that they're given. And so what happens? Well, it's taken away from
00:07:17.220 them. And I don't mean physically taken away. I mean, they squander it. People come knocking at
00:07:22.060 the door and they lend out money and they don't have business plans and they make stupid choices
00:07:26.280 and they buy depreciating assets because they never learned how to be good stewards over the
00:07:31.480 resources they have. Now, on the other hand, if a guy goes out into the world and he's making $50,000
00:07:35.840 and he learns how to manage that $50,000 well, the next year he makes 70 and the next year he makes 90.
00:07:42.640 And the next year he makes 150. And the next year he makes 200 and 250 and on and on and on.
00:07:47.800 Why? Because he's learned the set of skills required in order to not only keep the amount
00:07:54.180 of income that he has, but to continue to grow it. This is why when people say the rich get richer,
00:08:00.320 the only answer to that is that is true. That is true. It's true because they're learning
00:08:06.680 the principles that need to be learned in order to acquire, maintain, and grow their level of
00:08:13.320 wealth. The same thing could be said about those who are fit. Those who are fit continue to get
00:08:18.060 fitter. Yes, obviously, because they're doing the things required in order to develop that level of
00:08:23.760 health. The opposite is also true. Those who are broke continue to become broker, if that's a thing.
00:08:29.300 Those who do not manage their health well continue to get fatter and fatter and more and more out of
00:08:34.720 shape because they aren't harnessing this skillset and they aren't being good stewards over their
00:08:38.680 bodies, their money, their resources, et cetera. So guys, if you want to achieve any level of success
00:08:44.200 in your life, stop worrying about these huge aspirations that you have. And first and foremost,
00:08:49.140 because I'm not saying you shouldn't do that. I'm saying first and foremost,
00:08:52.060 worry about what you currently have. Are you managing the relationships you have?
00:08:56.040 Are you managing your fitness? Are you managing the food that's going into your body? Are you managing
00:09:00.380 the money that you have regardless of how much it may be? Manage what you have well,
00:09:05.140 first and watch how it continues to grow because you have developed the skillset in order to reap
00:09:11.040 the benefit of having more money or better health or deeper and more connected relationships.
00:09:15.920 Now, the opposite, and this is really why I wanted to talk with you about this today.
00:09:19.220 The opposite of being a good steward of stewardship, the antithesis, if you will, is
00:09:25.120 irresponsibility. It's irresponsibility and it's a lack of accountability. And if you look around
00:09:31.020 in any area of life, whether that's the employees that you happen to be working with,
00:09:35.920 your coworkers, you look at neighbors, you look at even our leaders, it is blatantly obvious that
00:09:43.600 there is a huge increase in the lack of responsibility. And I'm talking about individual
00:09:49.240 responsibility and accountability for one's lives. And as I look around and I see these young men and
00:09:54.460 women growing up who seem to have less and less responsibility, who seem to believe more and more
00:09:58.980 that other people owe them things. I can see why we need to have this discussion. To me, I look at
00:10:06.160 this and think we shouldn't need to have a discussion about managing our resources, but it's painfully
00:10:10.260 obvious that we do. Again, the opposite of stewardship is the lack of responsibility. It's irresponsibility
00:10:16.140 and it's the lack of accountability. So guys, we need to foster this in ourselves first and foremost,
00:10:20.960 and then we can learn how to foster this into other people that we have a responsibility for.
00:10:26.680 It could be our family members, our children, our coworkers, employees, clients, whoever it is that
00:10:31.920 we have an obligation to serve in some capacity. All right. So with that said, and I think we all have
00:10:36.720 some base level understanding for the framework of the discussion, the rest of the discussion I want
00:10:41.080 to have with you today. Let's talk about these five keys when it comes to being a good steward.
00:10:45.140 Number one. And I think this is the most important thing because everything else I'm going to talk
00:10:50.360 with you about after this falls in line with this, it goes under the umbrella of simply that your
00:10:56.640 resources aren't there simply to consume, but to multiply again. Let me say that again.
00:11:04.220 Let me say that again. Your resources aren't there simply to consume, but also to multiply. Now,
00:11:10.140 don't get me wrong. There's a time and a place for consumption. When I sit down at the dinner table,
00:11:14.180 I'm going to sit down and I'm going to eat the food that I either killed or paid for. There is a
00:11:18.020 time for consumption, but if you're not spending time replicating that, if you're not spending time
00:11:23.840 replacing what you just consumed, it's pretty obvious that you're going to run into problems.
00:11:28.760 Now, here's the challenge with this. I think in a lot of ways, society has made it easier and easier
00:11:34.340 and easier not to understand, or even have to live up to this concept of stewardship.
00:11:39.020 Because if you consume all of your resources, there's always there somebody over here taking
00:11:45.920 from somebody else and giving it to an individual who was not a good steward over their resources,
00:11:50.480 whether that's any kind of welfare services, whether that's healthcare benefits, whether
00:11:55.740 that's a new job or unemployment benefits. I mean, this happens over and over and over again.
00:12:00.680 Now, before you message me and telling me how those are good things, look,
00:12:03.800 I understand there's a time and a place for some of these benefits, but if people are perpetually
00:12:09.180 living on these things, obviously that's a problem. Where are the resources coming from?
00:12:14.120 They're coming from the producers. They're coming from those who are good stewards and how incentivized
00:12:20.480 is a steward to continue to be a good steward if he's not receiving or reaping the benefits of doing
00:12:25.780 so? If it's just being taken from him and giving to somebody else. Again, having stewardship and being a
00:12:32.720 good steward is about producing more than you consume. And as I was thinking about what I wanted
00:12:38.000 to talk with you about today, I wanted to share with you a story from the Bible. I know a lot of
00:12:43.080 you guys read the Bible or at least believe in the Bible and God and Christ. And so I think there's a
00:12:48.840 perfect story that illustrates exactly what it means to be a steward. And that is the parables of the
00:12:52.780 10 talents. Now I know, bear with me because I know a lot of you guys know the story, but again,
00:12:57.100 bear with me. It's going to articulate perfectly what it is I'm talking about today. So, and I'm
00:13:02.020 paraphrasing here. All right, guys, but at the end of the day, we've got this master of a household
00:13:06.620 and he's leaving. And as he's leaving, he decides that he needs to hand over the reins, if you will,
00:13:13.080 to three of his servants to be able to manage his affairs while he's gone. And so he takes his talents,
00:13:19.420 which is his money. And he has three servants that he's asking to help with this. To the first servant,
00:13:25.180 he gives five talents. And he asked his servant to be a good steward over the talents that he has
00:13:30.700 received. To the second servant, he gives two talents. And to the third servant, he gives one
00:13:36.240 talent. Now, what's interesting to note here is that he doesn't give them the same amount. Now,
00:13:41.460 some people might think, well, that's not fair. I would argue that it probably is. Now I will be
00:13:46.180 the first to admit, I don't know if there's a backstory to this parable, but what I can only
00:13:50.060 assume is that the reason he gave the first servant five, as opposed to the third servant one,
00:13:54.480 is because that first servant was probably more capable. There was probably some experience that
00:14:00.860 this master had had that had proved that this servant was more capable. Therefore, he should
00:14:05.540 receive more. Now, as the story progresses, the master comes back and he calls for the servants.
00:14:12.100 And as the servants come in, he asks each one of them, what did you do with the talents that I had
00:14:16.920 given you? And the first servant says, I went out and I invested. And instead of having five,
00:14:22.560 now I have 10. And the second servant says, instead of having two, I went out, I invested.
00:14:28.260 I was a good steward over my resources. And now I have four. And the third servant says,
00:14:34.140 I actually went and buried my talent. I actually went and hit it. I didn't go invest it because I
00:14:40.100 was afraid of losing it. Now, the master's response to the first and second servant was,
00:14:45.360 well done, my good and faithful servants. You have done exactly what I've asked you to do,
00:14:50.940 and you will be rewarded for doing so. And to the third servant, he was obviously upset and ended up
00:14:59.980 taking the one talent that this servant had, and he gave it to the one who had 10 now. And this is a
00:15:08.440 principle that we need to understand when it comes to stewardship. Those who are good stewards inevitably,
00:15:14.060 and it might not happen right away, but inevitably will be the ones who gain access to all of the
00:15:21.480 resources because they prove that they're worthy of managing those resources. It will be taken from
00:15:28.180 one and given to the other. So which camp do you want to fall into? Do you want to fall into the camp
00:15:33.780 where you just bury what you have? You bury all of your resources out of fear that you'll lose it
00:15:38.800 and then actually lose it? Or would you rather be in the camp that says, I'm going to go out and I'm
00:15:43.940 going to invest and I'm going to put my talents to work and I'm going to do what I'm supposed to do
00:15:48.040 with the resources that I have and I have been blessed with and go out and multiply those resources.
00:15:53.580 That's what it means to be a good steward. So again, first and foremost, a good steward understands
00:15:59.280 that his resources aren't there simply to consume, but to utilize in order to multiply. That's point
00:16:05.740 number one point. Number two, and this ties in very similarly with this as well, is that a good
00:16:10.900 steward understands the long game. He understands the long game. He's not in it for the short term.
00:16:16.540 He's not in it for the short game. I mean, we could take fitness, for example, how many programs and
00:16:20.760 courses and BS products are out there that tell you that you can get the six pack abs in the next 90
00:16:26.560 days. This is because it appeals to those who aren't good stewards over their body. And look, I get it.
00:16:32.120 It's tempting to want to take the shortcut. In fact, we probably should if the shortcut works,
00:16:38.700 but more often than not, the shortcut doesn't in fact work. And all we end up doing is dumping our
00:16:43.780 money and our time and energy and resources down the drain to invest in something that
00:16:48.100 actually isn't going to pan out. On the other hand, a good steward understands the long game so much so
00:16:55.400 that he's not worried about just himself, but he's also concerned with generational stewardship,
00:17:00.100 meaning that he wants to get his children in a better position. That his neighborhood,
00:17:05.540 that the people he's serving, that his family members, and he does the things today right now
00:17:10.480 that not only set him up for future success, but set those up under his care for future success as
00:17:17.160 well. I think about this when I think about the boys that I'm coaching my oldest son's basketball
00:17:22.060 team right now. We've got a good little team, solid little team. And you know what? At the end of
00:17:27.900 the day, we may lose a few games. We may not win every game, but my goal is to teach them the skills
00:17:35.260 and the framework and the mindset and everything that they need to know now so that as they get
00:17:41.280 older and they get into middle school and they get into high school, that these will be kids who
00:17:46.180 understand the dynamics and the dimension of the game. They understand how to be physical.
00:17:50.960 They understand how to use all their characteristics and skillsets. So the short-term result is not
00:17:56.700 nearly as important as what it will produce over the long haul. This is the framework for even
00:18:03.180 investing. I mean, look at that. Essentially what you're doing when you decide to invest, whether
00:18:07.800 that's in the stock market, the real estate market, business, commodities, artwork, whatever,
00:18:13.480 is that you're taking some of your resources, money in this case, and you're setting it aside
00:18:19.700 into another account or another asset. Not that you can use it today so that you can use it in
00:18:26.580 five years, 10 years, 20, 30, 40 years, and the hope and anticipation and the expectation
00:18:32.720 that it will come back with more than you had initially invested. That's the whole point of
00:18:39.440 investing. So guys, point number two, understand that your success isn't measured simply by what you
00:18:47.460 do, but by what you create for others. How many people are going to be at your funeral? How many
00:18:53.720 people are impacted positively by the legacy that you've left behind? If you're a good steward,
00:18:58.340 there's going to be a lot of people that are benefited by what you have done in your short life.
00:19:02.680 That's point number two. Point number three, guys, the title, all right, leader, boss, supervisor,
00:19:09.140 shift manager, shift manager, founder, owner, whatever, is not nearly as important. In fact,
00:19:16.360 it's not even necessary to be a good steward. I can't tell you how many guys that I talk with
00:19:22.300 every single day who I know want more than anything else, the title and the recognition that comes with
00:19:29.240 that title. And yet I can see what they do on a daily basis. And they have nowhere even nearly
00:19:34.420 earned the right to call themselves boss, supervisor, project manager, et cetera, et cetera,
00:19:41.000 et cetera. Guys, the actions come first. If you want to be the leader, you have to lead.
00:19:47.680 You don't need the title. You have to do the actions. And once you do the actions,
00:19:52.120 then the title comes. It doesn't work the other way around. I see this all the time. When I hear
00:19:56.660 guys say after their boss comes to him, ask them to take on a new project. Well, that's not my job
00:20:01.400 description or only if I'm going to get a raise or if only I'm going to get a promotion guys,
00:20:05.960 there's a time and a place for that. No doubt. But if you can't take on new tasks and new projects
00:20:10.800 and new opportunities, you're missing the boat. You may have just closed the door to an opportunity
00:20:16.380 that was presenting itself. For example, what if that employer of yours was giving you that project
00:20:22.660 to see how you did so that he could potentially give you the promotion or that he could give you the
00:20:28.400 raise that he thought you deserved? And you said, well, it's not my job description. And you
00:20:31.900 completely closed that door because you weren't willing to be a good steward first. You were so
00:20:36.440 worried about the title and everything else that came with it. Guys, stop focusing on the end result
00:20:41.160 so much. All right. Don't misunderstand me. It is important that we understand what the end result
00:20:45.520 is. But once we have what the end result is, then it's better to consume your time and your energy
00:20:51.400 and your attention focusing on the actions that will inevitably produce the result. So you can wash your
00:20:57.020 hands once you know what the actions are and you're performing them because there's a universal
00:21:01.560 principle that says you will reap the benefits of your work. Again, another scriptural reference,
00:21:08.200 you reap what you sow. If you're sowing bad work or you're not doing work at all, there's no harvest
00:21:13.580 for you. If on the other hand, you are doing what needs to be done and you're planting the seeds and
00:21:19.260 you're learning new skills and you're developing your skillset and you're helping other people win
00:21:23.120 and you're pushing and driving the project forward, you will inevitably have a harvest
00:21:27.160 in which you'll get to reap. It's not a complicated process. It's not easy, but it's not complicated
00:21:33.980 either. Understand that the actions come first, the title, the recognition, the rewards, the benefits
00:21:40.840 will come second. Number four, you as a steward over yourself and your family and your business,
00:21:48.500 your community, your employees, your coach, your team, whoever it is, have an obligation to be a
00:21:53.760 protector. We talk about this all the time. The three tenants of masculinity, protect, provide,
00:21:58.180 preside. That component of being a protector is critical. You are the sentinel. You are the guardian.
00:22:05.000 You are the man who is to protect those resources. And look, the wolf is going to come knocking at the
00:22:09.300 door. People are going to want to steal from you. People are going to want to even maybe not so
00:22:14.660 devious as they're going to want to utilize your resources and they're going to do it real nice and
00:22:19.480 try to help you see that this is going to benefit you. But at the end of the day, all they're trying
00:22:22.640 to do is to get at what you have. Guys, it's really, really important that you protect your
00:22:27.660 resources. I'm talking about finding a way to protect your family and your domain. I'm talking
00:22:32.840 about finding a way to protect your money. I mean, how many times have we heard of horror situations
00:22:38.240 where people trust a investment advisor and they end up losing millions and millions of dollars
00:22:44.380 because they thought, well, this advisor is going to do what's in my best interest. And what do they
00:22:48.600 do? They absolve themselves of what I talked about earlier, the responsibility and accountability for
00:22:54.660 their own resources. And I'm not saying that we shouldn't bring other people in. We certainly should.
00:22:59.020 But there's one thing I should say, two things. There's two things that you can never completely
00:23:05.100 delegate. And that is responsibility and accountability for your resources. If you are
00:23:11.920 to be a steward and in turn, be the type of man that you are capable of being and, and the type of
00:23:17.800 man that other people need you to be, then you will never, never absolve your responsibility and
00:23:22.480 accountability for the resources that you currently have. You'll bring people into help, but you'll
00:23:26.920 understand that the buck stops with you, not anybody else. Protect your home, protect yourself,
00:23:33.040 protect your kids, protect your family, protect your neighbors, look after them, care for them,
00:23:38.500 make sure that they're safe and secure and they have what they need. That is our responsibility and
00:23:42.920 job as men and as stewards. That's number four and number five. And I think this is a good one to end
00:23:48.920 on is that being a steward and in turn, being a man is not always fun. Being a man is about duty.
00:23:58.760 Being a steward is about obligation. Those aren't always fun things. See, everybody's so concerned
00:24:06.120 about rights. What right do I have? I have right to citizenship and I have right to healthcare and I
00:24:11.580 have right to a job and I have right to happiness and I have right to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
00:24:16.020 blah. No, you don't. You don't. And I want you to think about this for a second. Those things can be
00:24:22.860 taken away from you. They can be taken away from you at any moment. And it is our duty and our
00:24:31.480 obligation as men to fight for those rights. And if I were to look at the hierarchy of what is more
00:24:40.280 powerful, our rights, or on the other hand, our responsibilities, I will always go with
00:24:46.140 responsibilities. It's a higher tier of operating. When you adhere to the fact that I have a responsibility
00:24:51.860 for my liberty or I have a responsibility for my job or I have a responsibility for my freedom
00:24:57.000 and you're looking at it from a responsibility perspective versus what, what am I entitled to?
00:25:04.240 You are more fully stepping into what it means to be a man. It is your responsibility. It's your duty.
00:25:11.640 It's your obligation to be the type of steward I've been talking about today.
00:25:15.720 One quote that I'll leave you with here is from Stan Lee. And if you don't know who Stan Lee is,
00:25:21.440 he is the creator of Marvel comics, Iron Man, X-Men, Spider-Man, all the Marvel characters that
00:25:28.660 you're familiar with. He died. So I thought this was, was timely. He says with great power,
00:25:33.260 there must also come great responsibility. So with that said, let me recap these for you today,
00:25:39.320 guys, and then we'll call it a day. And I'll let you go out into the world and be the steward that
00:25:43.180 you're capable of and that other people are relying upon you to be. Number one is that you
00:25:47.280 have to understand as a steward over your resources, that they aren't there to simply be consumed,
00:25:52.540 but to be multiplied. And we talked about the 10 talents. Number two is good stewards understand the
00:25:59.180 long game generational, even that it's not just about what you can create, but what you can create
00:26:04.300 for your kids and your grandkids and on and on and on and on. Number three is the title is not
00:26:10.140 necessary that the actions come first. The title is second. Number four is that you are a protector.
00:26:16.080 You are a guardian. You are the sentinel. You are the protector of your resources, your family,
00:26:23.440 your neighborhood, your community, every other resource that you may have. And number five is
00:26:27.960 that it's not always fun. It's not always pleasant. It's not always easy. And you aren't
00:26:33.100 going to be rewarded sometimes for the things that you do, but you have a duty, an obligation,
00:26:37.280 and a responsibility. And those outweigh the basic rights that we all think that we have.
00:26:42.960 Those things have to be earned. So with that said, guys, I think we went a little longer than
00:26:47.580 I normally do, but I think this is a topic that warrants a discussion like this. And actually
00:26:52.660 probably a lot more than what we're talking about today. Guys go out there, understand what it means
00:26:56.700 to be a steward, be a good steward, take stewardship over yourself, your body, your mind, your soul,
00:27:03.220 stewardship over your family, your neighbors, your land, your resources, employees, team members,
00:27:10.200 whoever, whatever that is your responsibility as a man. So guys, I'll leave you there. I hope that
00:27:17.060 you go out and do these things that you implement them into your life. I'm working towards these
00:27:20.180 things as well. And when I get messages from you and you're sharing this podcast and inviting other
00:27:26.280 men to join us, I am inspired by that. And so you're helping me just as much, if not more as I'm
00:27:31.440 maybe helping you. So I'm honored that we're standing shoulder to shoulder in this great
00:27:34.860 mission to reclaim and restore what it means to be a man. I couldn't do it without you. And I thank
00:27:39.320 you. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. So go out there, be a good steward, guys,
00:27:42.680 take action, and become the man you are meant to be. Thank you for listening to the Order of Man
