00:00:00.000 You're a man of action. You live life to the fullest. Embrace your fears and boldly chart your own path.
00:00:06.000 When life knocks you down, you get back up one more time. Every time.
00:00:10.440 You are not easily deterred or defeated. Rugged. Resilient. Strong.
00:00:15.440 This is your life. This is who you are. This is who you will become.
00:00:19.680 At the end of the day, and after all is said and done, you can call yourself a man.
00:00:24.580 Gentlemen, what is going on today? My name is Ryan Michler, and I am the host and founder of the Order of Man podcast and movement.
00:00:33.560 I'm glad you're here. Glad you're tuning in. Glad you're back. We continue to grow.
00:00:38.500 We had some hiccups there over the past month with social media playing some games with our accounts.
00:00:44.100 Not only that, but also the podcast numbers declined, and I think that had to do with some podcast player updates.
00:00:51.420 So some devious steps taken against not only me, but other people, and some maybe not so devious steps that are just part of the technological advances and updates and whatnot.
00:01:04.980 But regardless, here we are on top of things, continue to grow, and the lineup of men that we have joining us in the coming weeks and months is absolutely incredible.
00:01:13.520 So make sure you subscribe, leave yourself a rating, and review if you would.
00:01:17.320 It goes a long way in promoting the visibility of the show, and it's a great way to say thank you to me and the people even behind the scenes that are working hard to continue to bring all this content and information to you about reclaiming and restoring masculinity.
00:01:30.220 So guys, I want to talk with you about a post that I made, speaking of Instagram.
00:01:35.380 The other day, because somebody, a listener had sent me a screenshot, excuse me, of a class that they were going to be required to take.
00:01:49.500 This is at CBS, and it talked a little bit about critical race theory, if I remember correctly, but it talked about the class, and I'm just paraphrasing here because I don't have it right in front of me,
00:01:59.880 but it was talking about some sort of inclusivity training, and I think this is something that you're going to see more and more and more of, this inclusivity training, this woke training, critical race theory, and more and more employers requiring this.
00:02:15.520 But in addition to that, we see other requirements and mandates for employment, including mask mandates, including vaccination mandates, which is happening more and more.
00:02:29.120 And then, of course, you have, like I said, these classes and these diversity-type trainings that are popping up all over the place.
00:02:35.040 And I'll let you decide whether or not you think this is a good thing or a bad thing.
00:02:40.380 I have my own thoughts on this, and I mean, ultimately, I don't think it serves us well for our employers to be babysitting us,
00:02:50.440 to be mandating and telling us what we need to do in order to maintain our employment with them.
00:02:58.820 It's really going to be very divisive, which is ironic because this class that this gentleman sent me a screenshot to was all about inclusivity.
00:03:08.000 But it's really going to be more divisive.
00:03:10.160 It's going to be more polarizing.
00:03:11.520 It's going to create more problems, and it's going to lead to less than favorable results.
00:03:16.100 But really what I wanted to talk with you about today because I don't want to get in the weeds with all that stuff.
00:03:20.880 You're big people.
00:03:22.220 You're adults.
00:03:22.760 You can make decisions about masks and vaccines and how you feel about this woke training that is being introduced to us.
00:03:31.200 What I want this to be about is your sovereignty.
00:03:35.140 Now, this is a book that I wrote in 2017, Sovereignty, the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of Men.
00:03:40.420 And I talked about some threats that we as men face that are direct odds with our sovereignty.
00:03:46.680 And what is sovereignty?
00:03:47.660 Well, sovereignty is the ability to control, take responsibility for, and ultimately live your life the way that you best see fit.
00:03:59.340 And a lot of these trainings, mandatory trainings, mandatory vaccine requirements, mandatory face masks are at direct odds with that.
00:04:09.280 And if you said to me, well, Ryan, you know, masks are good.
00:04:12.120 Great.
00:04:12.760 Wear a mask.
00:04:13.420 I'm not telling you not to.
00:04:14.760 Vaccines are important.
00:04:15.500 We need to be vaccinated.
00:04:16.600 Fine.
00:04:17.460 Get vaccinated.
00:04:18.700 If you feel like that's important, go ahead and do that and make your decision as a man.
00:04:25.120 But to, or if you want to read about these subjects, critical race theory and books like White Fragility and all this kind of stuff, then do that.
00:04:33.600 Nobody's stopping you from doing that.
00:04:35.060 And nobody's mandating that you do or don't do that.
00:04:38.500 But when you go to your employers or your employer comes to you and says, if you want to work here, then you have to do this.
00:04:44.940 That's at direct odds with your sovereignty.
00:04:46.900 But please don't mistake what I'm saying.
00:04:50.920 I'm not saying that working for an employer is at odds with your sovereignty.
00:04:56.120 I'm not saying that at all.
00:04:57.240 I'm saying that when they force you to do things that you don't think are good or right or go against your morals and you're obligated to stay there because you're in a financial situation that requires you to stay there because you don't have your financial house in order.
00:05:11.520 That's at odds with your sovereignty.
00:05:13.480 And that's what I want you to focus on.
00:05:17.000 I've been talking about this for six years and so many of you men are sleeping on what I've been talking about.
00:05:23.740 You've heard me talk about it for years and you've been sleeping on it.
00:05:26.860 Get your financial affairs in order.
00:05:29.200 Get your financial house in order.
00:05:30.960 Make sure that if your company mandates training that goes against your values or actions like vaccines and face masks that go against your values or frankly just ask you to be immoral or to lie or to overlook something that you've seen at work.
00:05:47.980 If you can't leave because you're financially bound to this institution, then you're less sovereign, you're in less control, and you're not doing what you need to be doing as a man.
00:06:01.160 So, what I did today, and this is what I want to address specifically, is go through a checklist.
00:06:07.120 So, as you're listening to me share these ideas and these concepts, if you're driving, don't do this now.
00:06:11.980 But if you're in a position where you can write these down, please write them down.
00:06:15.480 If not, go back and check the information from the show notes of this episode and you can write these things down and ask yourself how you stack up.
00:06:24.660 And there's only four things.
00:06:26.000 It's four very simple things that you need to do in order to ensure that if your employer or any institution comes to you and says,
00:06:35.140 hey, you're required to do X, Y, and Z to work here, that you can either comply, if you so desire, or you can leave and say,
00:06:46.140 thanks for the opportunities, I'm out, and you can go find something else.
00:06:51.300 That's sovereign.
00:06:52.400 Because now you have options and you can decide based on the actions and behaviors of others what you're going to do.
00:06:58.580 But if you're hamstringed and stuck, man, difficult situation.
00:07:03.280 So, let's break this down.
00:07:05.520 Number one, and these are kind of along the lines of financial advice.
00:07:10.480 Two are specifically related to financial advice, but the other two are not necessarily financially related,
00:07:18.640 but they are in a roundabout way.
00:07:20.200 So, the first thing I want you to do is, number one, that you need to become a master networker.
00:07:27.080 A master networker.
00:07:29.800 Guys, if at the risk of sounding arrogant here, and by no means do I want this to happen,
00:07:35.780 but if for whatever reason, order of man shut down completely,
00:07:40.480 there was new legislation or technology that rendered podcasting obsolete, or I was, you know,
00:07:49.380 disabled or incapacitated or whatever.
00:07:51.480 Something happened where order of man could no longer exist.
00:07:55.200 Within 30 minutes, I'd have a new gig lined up.
00:07:59.140 Within 30 minutes, tops.
00:08:01.160 I know that.
00:08:01.840 I have no qualms and no doubts about saying that.
00:08:04.300 Because I'm very well networked with a powerful group of men and women who I could go to and work with if that was the case.
00:08:16.660 And how many of you can say that?
00:08:19.280 Can you say emphatically yes, that if you were laid off or you were asked to do something that went against your morals,
00:08:27.520 that you could quit and have something new, a new gig lined up to produce income for your family within 30 minutes?
00:08:35.020 If the answer is no, I couldn't do that, then you've got some work to do.
00:08:38.640 If the answer is yes, congratulations, that's great, but don't rest on your laurels and think that just because that's the case,
00:08:44.860 you can stop networking.
00:08:46.160 You can't.
00:08:47.380 Guys, I know networking has a negative connotation and when you think about it,
00:08:50.960 you're probably thinking about going to some sort of weird, awkward networking group where people are handing out their cards
00:08:59.240 and nobody really wants their services.
00:09:00.700 They just want their business and the referrals and it's just this very uncomfortable environment where everything is just fabricated and manufactured
00:09:11.340 and there's no realness to it or authenticity to it.
00:09:14.880 It's just weird.
00:09:15.420 I've been to them and that's not what I'm talking about, guys.
00:09:19.240 All right, what I'm talking about is getting to know your vendors very, very well.
00:09:24.400 What I'm talking about is getting to know your colleagues and your co-workers,
00:09:27.840 getting to know other companies that maybe you guys do business with,
00:09:32.760 looking at outside businesses that you admire or respect,
00:09:37.520 trying to find ways to connect with other business owners or people who are in your field,
00:09:43.720 finding people who you can refer business to and they can refer business back to you.
00:09:48.460 Like doing this on a daily basis because when you do this and you focus on this concept of masterful networking
00:09:58.380 and you build out your network, it's large and it's robust and it's deep
00:10:02.420 and you really are very well connected with these people, they're going to help you.
00:10:10.500 You're going to be able to turn to them.
00:10:12.000 They, you might be able to help them and hopefully they can turn to you.
00:10:17.600 So, as you think about how do I not become a slave to my employer if I'm asked to do something
00:10:22.720 that jeopardizes my morals or my values, this is the greatest way to do it.
00:10:29.140 And are you networking every single day?
00:10:32.620 Get out your Rolodex, also known as your phone these days, right?
00:10:36.720 But get out your phone, get out your email contact list and find somebody.
00:10:42.060 Every day, oh, I haven't reached out to John.
00:10:43.780 I haven't reached out to Steve.
00:10:44.860 I haven't reached out to Cindy.
00:10:46.180 Here's this person.
00:10:47.440 They just got back from vacation.
00:10:48.960 What can I do?
00:10:49.820 And by the way, we have this incredible tool called social media,
00:10:53.160 which you all should be using effectively to connect with other people who would be good to be connected with.
00:10:59.260 And then you go out into the real world and you build these life face-to-face interactions and relationships with people.
00:11:05.720 You know, I went to Total Archery Challenge several weeks ago
00:11:07.980 and I met a lot of people there who I had never met face-to-face.
00:11:12.020 I'd met them all online and we picked up right where we left off.
00:11:16.100 Like we were old friends because I use the tool of social media effectively.
00:11:19.520 And I've had a lot of conversations with guys like,
00:11:22.820 I hate social media.
00:11:24.040 I'm not going to use social media.
00:11:26.120 It's such a waste.
00:11:27.200 It's a waste of time.
00:11:28.340 It's stupid.
00:11:29.300 The social media overlords, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:11:31.580 And while some of that may be true, it's a tool.
00:11:34.340 And it's as effective as you wielding the tool.
00:11:39.080 If you use it effectively, it can be something that's very powerful for your life.
00:11:43.400 If you use it ineffectively, then yes, it's a problem.
00:11:47.180 So use social media to network with people who are like-minded,
00:11:51.080 who you have opportunities for, who might have opportunities for you.
00:11:54.720 And you should be checking your networking stuff off the list every single day.
00:11:58.140 What I'm doing is I'm making calls and I'm sending emails and I'm sending texts
00:12:02.640 and I'm making connections for people.
00:12:05.100 I'm constantly networking with human beings.
00:12:08.040 And that's why I have this network.
00:12:10.700 That's why I'm able to secure the podcast guests that we have because we are well networked.
00:12:16.940 Please understand that.
00:12:18.480 Don't look at it as a negative.
00:12:20.380 In fact, think of it as a game.
00:12:22.020 Not that you're manipulating other people,
00:12:23.900 but you're thinking about how you can expand and grow and build
00:12:26.940 upon the current network that you have.
00:12:29.140 And if you do, I promise you'll be less likely to be tempted to do something
00:12:34.960 that goes against your standards and morals
00:12:36.640 because you don't have something else over here lined up
00:12:39.380 and you got to put food on the table and roof over your head
00:12:41.740 and you have sports activities that you need to pay for your kids just like I do.
00:12:46.760 But I just don't want to be beholden to somebody else
00:12:49.340 if they ask me to do something I don't want to do.
00:12:52.100 So that's number one.
00:12:53.280 Number two, zero debt, guys.
00:12:55.380 We've got to stop getting in debt.
00:12:59.180 All right?
00:12:59.780 Unless you're financially solvent,
00:13:01.880 there's no such thing as good debt and bad debt.
00:13:05.140 Okay?
00:13:05.280 Now, I know there's student loans,
00:13:08.900 there's businesses,
00:13:10.400 there's the house,
00:13:11.700 there's things that people will argue with me
00:13:13.580 and debate with me on and say,
00:13:14.680 well, you know, this is good debt.
00:13:16.100 No, it really isn't.
00:13:19.060 Okay?
00:13:19.500 It might produce some opportunities that wouldn't be there
00:13:22.060 if you hadn't acquired that debt,
00:13:23.420 but there's still a cost of debt.
00:13:25.920 Right?
00:13:26.360 If you're going to spend $100,000 on schooling, for example,
00:13:29.820 I would say first and foremost,
00:13:31.640 it ought to be something that you can,
00:13:34.380 a degree that you can actually use,
00:13:35.920 like you're going into the medical field
00:13:37.460 or into legal work or accounting or tax work.
00:13:41.900 But if you're looking at a liberal arts degree
00:13:45.960 or, you know,
00:13:47.320 14th century French history,
00:13:52.200 okay, I'd probably say that's a waste of money,
00:13:54.020 but I'll let you be the judge of that.
00:13:56.320 Again, you're adults.
00:13:57.460 You can do that, hopefully.
00:14:00.040 Okay, so, but what I'm getting at here
00:14:01.700 is that if you're spending $100,000 on debt,
00:14:03.860 you're actually probably over the lifetime of that debt
00:14:05.840 spending anywhere from $150,000 to $200,000
00:14:08.240 to maybe even $300,000,
00:14:09.380 depending on how quickly you pay that off.
00:14:12.660 Same thing with a house.
00:14:14.680 Oh, but Ryan, it's investment.
00:14:15.960 Sure, I get that it will appreciate.
00:14:18.280 Your house will likely appreciate
00:14:19.900 if you purchase a house right now,
00:14:21.500 but that $300,000 you pay for the house
00:14:24.400 or more because of where the housing market is now,
00:14:27.200 well, you could have potentially put it
00:14:29.460 into another investment
00:14:30.500 that would have yielded even greater return.
00:14:33.440 So, there's a cost associated with it.
00:14:36.360 You need to be smart with debt
00:14:39.660 and stop telling yourself stories like,
00:14:41.960 well, this is good debt.
00:14:42.720 This is bad debt.
00:14:43.560 No, it's all debt.
00:14:45.160 And unless you've calculated the total cost
00:14:47.080 of the purchases you're making
00:14:48.260 on somebody else's money,
00:14:50.280 you don't really have a very good idea
00:14:51.780 of what's going on.
00:14:52.860 And by the way,
00:14:53.400 if you have to do something
00:14:54.660 that you don't want to do,
00:14:56.400 like participate in some of these
00:14:58.920 inclusive type trainings
00:15:00.680 or the mask mandates
00:15:01.700 or the vaccine mandates
00:15:02.860 or the whatever,
00:15:05.560 they're asking you to jeopardize your morals,
00:15:07.740 then you're going to be more likely to do that
00:15:10.600 if you're stacked to the ceiling with debt
00:15:12.560 because you have all this debt to service.
00:15:15.620 You've got a $2,000 mortgage.
00:15:17.380 You've got a $500 a month personal loan.
00:15:19.660 You've got a $500 truck payment.
00:15:21.320 You've got student loans that you're paying
00:15:22.620 and that's a grand
00:15:23.360 and you've got another personal loan.
00:15:25.800 Then you've got credit cards
00:15:27.020 that are five or six or $700.
00:15:28.180 Guys, how in the world
00:15:31.160 are you ever going to
00:15:32.240 not only have peace of mind,
00:15:34.660 but how in the world
00:15:35.480 are you ever going to maintain
00:15:36.840 your standard
00:15:38.180 when asked to do something wrong
00:15:39.960 if you're a slave and beholden
00:15:41.480 to all these financial institutions?
00:15:44.160 You're not.
00:15:46.280 You're going to do things
00:15:47.280 you don't want to do.
00:15:48.280 You're going to do things
00:15:49.060 that go against your morals and standards
00:15:50.720 because you got to pay that debt off.
00:15:53.040 And isn't that what they want?
00:15:54.060 They love that.
00:15:55.580 They love the fact that you're in debt
00:15:57.300 because you're not paying
00:15:58.160 30 grand for the truck.
00:16:00.060 You're paying 60 grand for it
00:16:01.880 because of all that interest
00:16:03.260 they get to collect
00:16:03.940 every single month
00:16:04.860 from these idiots
00:16:05.740 who continue to do this
00:16:07.100 over and over and over again.
00:16:11.880 I don't want you to be one of those guys.
00:16:14.620 Imagine being debt-free.
00:16:15.860 Just imagine that for a minute.
00:16:18.400 Completely out of debt.
00:16:20.120 No debt to service.
00:16:22.300 All your stuff's paid off.
00:16:24.600 No creditors hounding you,
00:16:25.940 calling you,
00:16:26.500 texting you,
00:16:27.080 emailing you,
00:16:27.740 sending you letters.
00:16:29.220 None of that stuff
00:16:30.040 because it's all paid off.
00:16:32.900 And again,
00:16:33.220 there's some discernment here.
00:16:34.720 I'm going to let you decide
00:16:35.640 whether or not you should buy a house.
00:16:36.720 I'm not going to tell you
00:16:37.220 it's a bad thing.
00:16:38.040 Or go to school
00:16:38.800 if it's something you should be doing.
00:16:40.700 I'm not going to tell you that.
00:16:41.920 You can exercise some discernment.
00:16:43.420 But I think you understand
00:16:44.060 what I'm saying here.
00:16:45.520 All right, number three.
00:16:46.200 And this is the one.
00:16:46.980 So again,
00:16:47.300 I posted this on Instagram.
00:16:48.540 Follow me at Ryan Mickler
00:16:49.680 on Instagram
00:16:50.240 and Facebook and Twitter.
00:16:51.840 But this is the one
00:16:54.120 that really got a lot of guys
00:16:56.280 to ask questions.
00:16:57.120 I said,
00:16:57.460 create multiple income streams.
00:16:58.760 And I think what I said on the post
00:16:59.840 is I have around nine or ten
00:17:01.680 income streams
00:17:03.380 to our own family household right now.
00:17:06.900 And I got dozens and dozens,
00:17:09.700 if not hundreds of messages
00:17:10.680 from guys who are like,
00:17:11.500 hey, what about your income streams?
00:17:12.700 Tell me about that.
00:17:13.840 So I figured I'd share a little bit here.
00:17:16.140 Guys,
00:17:16.580 multiple income streams
00:17:17.760 isn't some mystical,
00:17:19.600 elusive,
00:17:21.640 incredible financial strategy
00:17:23.700 that's only available
00:17:24.880 to the ultra rich
00:17:26.140 or the ultra knowledgeable
00:17:27.760 or the ultra connected.
00:17:29.540 This is for anybody.
00:17:31.720 All right.
00:17:32.000 If you're employed
00:17:32.840 at an organization,
00:17:33.820 let's say you're working
00:17:34.640 with CVS right now
00:17:35.760 and you're putting in 40 hours a week,
00:17:37.700 what's to keep you
00:17:38.540 from putting 10 to 15 to 20 hours
00:17:40.960 into a side business over here?
00:17:43.840 Maybe you're building websites.
00:17:45.040 Maybe you're doing
00:17:45.640 some sort of consulting.
00:17:46.960 Perhaps you're taking pictures
00:17:47.980 for people
00:17:48.700 or you're doing some woodworking
00:17:50.740 and building furniture
00:17:51.760 or you're painting
00:17:52.680 and you're selling
00:17:53.320 your artwork online
00:17:54.480 or you have a newsletter
00:17:56.320 based on some opinions
00:17:58.900 that you have
00:17:59.620 that people enjoy
00:18:00.900 or you're writing a book.
00:18:04.360 There's all,
00:18:05.200 drawing a comic book.
00:18:06.680 I mean,
00:18:06.820 there's all sorts of things
00:18:08.020 that you could be doing
00:18:09.000 on the side
00:18:09.720 that might only take
00:18:10.620 five to 10 to 15 hours a week.
00:18:15.040 Maybe you're training people
00:18:17.040 doing physical fitness stuff
00:18:18.880 or training with jiu-jitsu.
00:18:20.920 Okay.
00:18:21.140 That's one way.
00:18:22.120 That's a second income source for you.
00:18:25.480 That's an option.
00:18:27.140 Another is rental properties.
00:18:29.580 I mean,
00:18:29.740 how many of you guys
00:18:30.380 have another home?
00:18:32.520 We've got a couple
00:18:33.240 different rental properties
00:18:34.260 and really the reason
00:18:35.280 we have them
00:18:35.780 is because it was one home
00:18:37.040 and then we moved
00:18:37.820 and bought a new house
00:18:38.640 and kept that one
00:18:39.340 and rented it out
00:18:39.980 and then we moved
00:18:40.580 and bought a new home
00:18:41.700 and then rented that one out
00:18:42.760 and we became landlords.
00:18:49.640 Not because I had
00:18:50.880 some grand elaborate strategy
00:18:52.180 but just because
00:18:52.920 this is the way it panned out.
00:18:54.480 It's something
00:18:55.380 that's not available
00:18:56.300 just not available
00:18:58.560 to ultra rich.
00:19:00.100 It's available to everybody.
00:19:02.800 Okay.
00:19:03.000 So, you have your job.
00:19:03.940 That's one.
00:19:04.800 Maybe you have some rental properties.
00:19:06.400 That's two.
00:19:07.220 Maybe you're doing
00:19:07.860 some side work
00:19:08.760 to create a little
00:19:09.840 additional income.
00:19:10.640 Maybe that's 500,
00:19:11.480 a thousand bucks a month
00:19:12.320 but that's three.
00:19:15.220 Now, you have
00:19:16.000 potentially some investments
00:19:17.600 that are paying you
00:19:19.940 a dividend
00:19:20.420 each and every month.
00:19:21.580 Might not be a lot.
00:19:22.580 Maybe it's 40 bucks.
00:19:23.420 Maybe it's 400.
00:19:24.140 Maybe it's 4,000
00:19:24.900 but you build upon these things
00:19:26.320 and so now you have
00:19:27.280 some investments on the side
00:19:28.300 paying you some dividends,
00:19:29.980 paying you some money.
00:19:31.220 Okay.
00:19:31.360 So, that's four.
00:19:32.380 Now, the other thing
00:19:33.520 is with what I have
00:19:34.640 is I have multiple businesses.
00:19:36.120 I have one that's coming in
00:19:37.340 because we sold a business
00:19:38.720 so that revenue
00:19:39.920 because we amateurized it
00:19:41.300 over a certain period of time
00:19:42.480 that revenue is coming in.
00:19:44.500 So, there's a fifth
00:19:45.180 or a sixth
00:19:45.660 income stream.
00:19:49.920 Okay.
00:19:50.020 Then you have other businesses.
00:19:51.200 Maybe you're a silent partner.
00:19:52.140 Maybe you invested
00:19:52.860 10 or 20 or 30 grand
00:19:54.220 into a business
00:19:54.900 and they're just paying you dividends
00:19:56.580 based on what they're returning
00:19:57.620 each and every month.
00:19:58.400 So, it doesn't require
00:19:59.360 a whole lot of involvement
00:20:00.260 from you
00:20:00.960 because you are working
00:20:02.200 50 hours at your job.
00:20:03.460 You've got another 15 hours
00:20:04.560 with your side work
00:20:05.380 and so, now you have
00:20:08.380 this other income
00:20:09.640 coming in.
00:20:10.720 Then, with what I've done
00:20:12.400 is I've diversified
00:20:13.820 within the structure
00:20:15.740 within the organization
00:20:16.760 and so, some people might say,
00:20:18.020 well, that's only
00:20:18.400 one source of income.
00:20:20.340 It's, yes,
00:20:21.000 it's one source
00:20:21.920 but it's different mediums
00:20:24.500 in which they're coming in.
00:20:25.700 So, we have
00:20:27.740 podcast sponsors
00:20:29.380 is one.
00:20:30.800 We've got our brotherhood,
00:20:32.420 the Iron Council
00:20:33.220 is one.
00:20:34.980 We do live events,
00:20:36.760 that's another one.
00:20:38.120 Then, we brought
00:20:38.880 our merchandise store online
00:20:40.500 and that's another one
00:20:42.380 and so, if one of those
00:20:44.780 sinks or goes under
00:20:45.740 or doesn't work
00:20:46.480 or doesn't perform as well
00:20:47.540 on any given month,
00:20:48.400 the rest are picking up
00:20:49.280 the slack.
00:20:52.040 Our merchandise store,
00:20:53.320 for example,
00:20:53.920 has done very, very well
00:20:55.240 over the past,
00:20:56.220 you know, this year
00:20:56.840 so, what's that?
00:20:57.560 Eight, seven, eight months now
00:20:58.540 and so, it makes up
00:21:00.780 for anything else
00:21:01.560 that might actually
00:21:02.380 be lagging behind.
00:21:04.360 Unfortunately,
00:21:05.100 nothing really is
00:21:05.960 but if it were,
00:21:06.840 you know,
00:21:07.120 we'd have that stuff
00:21:07.840 to back it up
00:21:08.460 but I also have
00:21:10.440 affiliates.
00:21:11.660 I also have partnerships.
00:21:13.300 I also have sponsorships.
00:21:14.980 You've heard me talk
00:21:15.580 about them on this podcast
00:21:16.520 and by the way,
00:21:17.040 our sponsor
00:21:17.500 is Origin, Maine.
00:21:20.420 So, Origin,
00:21:21.580 yes, they're friends
00:21:22.380 but they also compensate me
00:21:24.560 to talk about
00:21:26.240 and promote their products.
00:21:28.500 Now, I could do
00:21:29.180 a lot more of that.
00:21:29.900 I don't because
00:21:30.920 I don't think it's,
00:21:32.900 I think it's disingenuous
00:21:34.120 to talk about companies
00:21:35.180 you don't actually
00:21:35.820 personally use
00:21:36.700 and I don't want to be
00:21:37.520 hawking life insurance
00:21:38.600 or mattresses to you guys
00:21:39.880 that I don't actually use.
00:21:41.400 The reason I partnered
00:21:42.460 with Origin
00:21:43.020 is because I use their geese,
00:21:44.700 I use their rash guards,
00:21:45.960 I walk around
00:21:46.500 in their boots,
00:21:47.240 I use their supplements,
00:21:48.680 I just picked up,
00:21:49.580 my son and I love
00:21:50.380 their new
00:21:51.060 Jocko Greens.
00:21:54.920 We take the greens
00:21:56.480 every single morning.
00:21:57.380 So, this is a company
00:21:59.500 I believe in
00:22:00.040 and yet they're compensating
00:22:00.980 me to talk about it
00:22:01.820 because I have value here,
00:22:02.860 right?
00:22:03.700 And it's a win-win.
00:22:04.680 I get you guys a discount,
00:22:06.200 they get to sponsor the show
00:22:07.620 which allows me
00:22:08.400 to continue to grow the show
00:22:09.440 and build it out
00:22:10.020 and build the movement
00:22:10.620 the way we want
00:22:11.560 which gives better content
00:22:12.760 to you guys.
00:22:13.600 So, it's all reciprocal.
00:22:15.560 But the point I'm making here
00:22:16.680 is that there's so many ways
00:22:18.260 to generate different
00:22:19.240 streams of income
00:22:20.080 and unless you're doing that
00:22:21.540 and you're just relying
00:22:22.960 on one source of income,
00:22:24.680 you're really putting your neck
00:22:26.000 up on the chopping block.
00:22:27.760 Because if that one income
00:22:29.040 shuts off for whatever reason,
00:22:30.720 in this case,
00:22:31.360 because they're asking you
00:22:32.180 to do something
00:22:32.660 you don't want to do
00:22:33.520 or goes against your values,
00:22:35.980 chop your head off
00:22:36.760 right there,
00:22:37.140 you're done.
00:22:40.200 If on the other hand,
00:22:41.320 and I'm not saying
00:22:41.920 this is the case,
00:22:42.580 but let's say
00:22:42.980 one of my sponsors
00:22:43.700 comes and says something
00:22:45.920 to me
00:22:46.280 or does something
00:22:46.960 I don't like
00:22:47.660 or their values change
00:22:51.020 that are no longer
00:22:52.100 in alignment with mine,
00:22:53.580 I don't have to just
00:22:54.800 hawk anything to you
00:22:55.860 I can cancel
00:22:56.940 and terminate
00:22:57.640 that relationship
00:22:59.040 because I got enough stuff
00:23:00.140 going on over here
00:23:00.960 where I'm not
00:23:01.560 forced to oblige.
00:23:05.420 That's sovereignty,
00:23:06.520 options.
00:23:07.620 All right,
00:23:07.780 you guys get the point.
00:23:09.400 Now, the last thing
00:23:09.900 I wanted to talk
00:23:10.420 with you about,
00:23:11.020 so let's recap real quick.
00:23:12.520 We have become
00:23:13.020 a master networker,
00:23:14.320 so you're building
00:23:14.820 that network
00:23:15.320 each and every day.
00:23:16.080 Number two,
00:23:16.500 you have zero debt,
00:23:17.960 paying off that debt,
00:23:18.800 not getting into new debt.
00:23:19.820 Number three is
00:23:22.400 multiple income sources
00:23:24.180 and streams
00:23:24.900 that are non-correlated,
00:23:26.560 meaning they don't
00:23:27.960 go together,
00:23:28.800 they're different,
00:23:29.660 they're independent
00:23:30.260 of each other.
00:23:31.380 And then you have
00:23:32.220 the fourth one here,
00:23:33.100 which is my last point
00:23:34.380 that I wanted to make today,
00:23:35.560 which is that you have
00:23:36.520 to produce more
00:23:37.140 than you consume.
00:23:38.220 All right,
00:23:38.380 this is a budgetary conversation,
00:23:40.280 but also this is
00:23:41.220 a value conversation.
00:23:43.000 So let's talk about
00:23:43.700 the budget for a minute.
00:23:45.240 It was always amazing
00:23:46.260 in my financial planning practice
00:23:47.640 when I would go through
00:23:49.720 line by line
00:23:50.660 of people's budgets
00:23:52.040 and their cash flow
00:23:52.940 and money in
00:23:53.600 and money out
00:23:54.200 and we'd look at it
00:23:55.020 and I would show them,
00:23:56.540 all right,
00:23:56.740 you're negative $200 a month.
00:23:59.820 And I would show them that
00:24:01.240 and they'd be like,
00:24:01.760 well,
00:24:02.820 where's that money going?
00:24:04.760 And I would show them
00:24:05.680 line by line,
00:24:06.320 here's where it's going.
00:24:07.960 And you know what?
00:24:08.820 Look,
00:24:09.140 your credit cards are,
00:24:10.680 they're going up each month.
00:24:12.080 So where do you think
00:24:12.780 that $200 is coming from?
00:24:14.960 It's coming from the bank.
00:24:16.500 So the $200
00:24:17.120 now turns into $400
00:24:18.280 over the lifetime
00:24:19.040 of that loan.
00:24:20.500 So it's not just $200,
00:24:22.120 it's like $400 a month
00:24:23.480 you're in the hole.
00:24:25.740 And they would inevitably say,
00:24:28.040 well,
00:24:28.140 what do we do about it?
00:24:30.560 Well,
00:24:30.940 guys,
00:24:31.320 there's only two things
00:24:33.300 you can do.
00:24:35.120 It's very simple.
00:24:36.580 It's simple math.
00:24:39.400 It's the producer,
00:24:40.740 consumer conversation.
00:24:42.060 It's the value conversation.
00:24:44.400 It's the debt to income ratio
00:24:46.280 or conversation.
00:24:47.620 So here's the two things
00:24:48.460 you can do.
00:24:48.940 If you go through line by line,
00:24:50.320 your budget,
00:24:51.200 and you see that you're
00:24:51.700 in the hole every month,
00:24:52.560 two things you can do.
00:24:53.620 Number one,
00:24:54.320 make more money.
00:24:56.960 Most people will just talk
00:24:57.980 about the debt,
00:24:58.700 the cashflow component,
00:25:00.240 like,
00:25:00.440 oh,
00:25:00.480 just stop spending money
00:25:01.400 at Starbucks
00:25:02.060 or wherever your thing is.
00:25:03.980 And you'll save,
00:25:04.420 you know,
00:25:04.640 $50 here,
00:25:05.480 $20 there,
00:25:06.300 $40 there.
00:25:07.480 You can't,
00:25:08.240 you can't save your way
00:25:10.740 into wealth.
00:25:12.460 I'm not saying
00:25:13.160 you shouldn't do that.
00:25:14.120 You definitely should.
00:25:15.020 You should cut some of those
00:25:16.200 unnecessary expenses out,
00:25:17.560 especially if you can't afford them,
00:25:18.900 but also make more money,
00:25:20.520 which goes into point number three,
00:25:22.420 multiple income streams.
00:25:24.140 Find a way to make more money.
00:25:26.740 So when people say,
00:25:27.640 well,
00:25:27.700 what do I do?
00:25:28.180 We're in the hole
00:25:28.640 each and every month.
00:25:29.460 You can either A,
00:25:30.900 make more money
00:25:31.720 and or B,
00:25:33.960 spend less.
00:25:35.980 That's it.
00:25:37.520 That's all you can do.
00:25:40.640 So what are you going to do?
00:25:41.940 If your income shuts off,
00:25:45.200 what are your monthly expenses?
00:25:46.940 Are they 3,000?
00:25:47.680 Are they 5,000?
00:25:48.480 Are they 10,000?
00:25:49.400 What are they?
00:25:51.040 And how much do you need
00:25:52.220 to ensure that you're making
00:25:54.080 on the side
00:25:55.220 on these multiple income streams
00:25:56.560 in order to make up
00:25:57.640 for one income stream
00:25:59.140 shutting off?
00:26:00.820 That's your monthly expense.
00:26:03.040 But there's another conversation
00:26:04.460 in here too,
00:26:05.060 because that's simple math.
00:26:06.600 There's another conversation
00:26:07.620 here too.
00:26:08.220 And that's be a producer,
00:26:09.660 not a consumer.
00:26:10.420 So most people
00:26:12.400 are purely consumers.
00:26:14.140 Well, let me say it this way.
00:26:15.600 Everybody's a consumer.
00:26:16.820 You, me,
00:26:17.520 your friends,
00:26:17.960 your neighbors,
00:26:18.360 your colleagues,
00:26:18.800 your coworkers,
00:26:19.400 everybody.
00:26:20.020 We all consume.
00:26:21.880 It's just part of
00:26:22.920 being a human being.
00:26:24.100 We consume resources.
00:26:25.960 But a real man
00:26:27.120 learns to produce
00:26:29.340 more than he consumes.
00:26:31.280 By the way,
00:26:31.760 this is part of the reason
00:26:32.940 that boys are not men yet,
00:26:34.440 because they're consumers
00:26:35.540 of resources.
00:26:36.440 My sons
00:26:36.960 and my daughter
00:26:37.820 are consumers
00:26:38.920 of resources.
00:26:40.200 Time,
00:26:40.820 energy,
00:26:41.380 attention,
00:26:42.020 focus,
00:26:42.760 food,
00:26:43.340 money,
00:26:43.940 roof over the head,
00:26:45.440 maintenance,
00:26:46.040 health bills,
00:26:46.740 dentist bills,
00:26:47.280 like all this.
00:26:47.980 It's all consumption.
00:26:50.400 Now, I'm not saying
00:26:51.020 they don't bring a certain
00:26:51.880 joy and satisfaction
00:26:52.760 to my life.
00:26:53.420 Of course, they do.
00:26:54.220 And you wouldn't
00:26:55.560 have children
00:26:56.360 if that wasn't the case,
00:26:57.760 because it is so challenging
00:26:59.260 and it is so consumptive.
00:27:01.700 But we don't expect
00:27:02.780 our children
00:27:03.220 to produce
00:27:04.020 more than they consume.
00:27:05.080 Like we as men
00:27:06.360 have learned
00:27:07.240 to hopefully produce
00:27:08.540 not only enough
00:27:09.660 to take care of ourselves,
00:27:10.580 but then to take care
00:27:11.480 of your wife
00:27:12.180 and to take care
00:27:12.800 of your children.
00:27:13.500 And because you're a man,
00:27:14.460 you've learned
00:27:14.920 to out produce
00:27:16.260 your consumption.
00:27:18.500 But young men
00:27:19.360 and young women
00:27:19.900 haven't learned
00:27:20.700 how to do that yet.
00:27:22.500 They're out consuming
00:27:23.700 their production.
00:27:26.700 So, the reason
00:27:27.420 I'm telling you this
00:27:28.340 is because
00:27:28.980 most people
00:27:30.460 consume
00:27:32.300 more than they produce.
00:27:33.820 they spend more money
00:27:35.260 than they make.
00:27:36.140 They burn up
00:27:37.120 and they burn out
00:27:37.700 on relationships
00:27:38.420 because they exhaust
00:27:39.500 without giving anything
00:27:40.400 in return.
00:27:41.800 They try to
00:27:43.400 maximize
00:27:45.420 every little dollar
00:27:46.660 with their clients
00:27:47.520 and their customers.
00:27:49.600 They try to save money
00:27:51.080 on every little thing
00:27:52.300 so they can keep it
00:27:53.280 in their own pocket.
00:27:54.140 And so,
00:27:54.480 they're consuming
00:27:55.180 resources,
00:27:58.060 time,
00:27:58.640 attention,
00:27:59.360 energy,
00:27:59.880 relationships.
00:28:00.880 But what I want
00:28:03.320 you to consider
00:28:03.840 is how can you
00:28:04.600 produce more
00:28:05.680 than you consume?
00:28:07.100 How can you be
00:28:07.960 an asset
00:28:08.500 versus a liability
00:28:09.620 to your employer,
00:28:11.540 to your clients,
00:28:12.880 to particular vendors
00:28:14.020 that you're working with,
00:28:15.160 to friends?
00:28:17.640 You know,
00:28:17.900 if a friend needs
00:28:18.600 something,
00:28:19.020 for example,
00:28:20.100 and you
00:28:20.920 can help
00:28:22.680 that individual
00:28:23.480 but you choose
00:28:24.120 not to
00:28:24.520 for whatever reason,
00:28:26.000 well,
00:28:26.260 you're consuming
00:28:26.900 and you didn't
00:28:27.360 produce anything today.
00:28:28.460 But on the other hand,
00:28:30.640 if you produce that,
00:28:31.640 if somebody called you up
00:28:32.880 and I've had personal friends
00:28:33.740 call me up
00:28:34.260 and ask for favors
00:28:35.020 and if I'm in the position
00:28:36.220 to do it,
00:28:36.620 I certainly will.
00:28:37.600 Not because I'm going
00:28:38.400 to get anything out of it
00:28:39.700 but because that's the good
00:28:41.480 and the right thing
00:28:42.320 to do for people
00:28:43.280 but also,
00:28:44.580 there's a thing called karma
00:28:45.760 where if you do enough
00:28:47.600 good things for other people
00:28:48.840 and help them get
00:28:49.620 what they want,
00:28:50.240 you will inevitably get
00:28:51.220 what it is you want.
00:28:52.580 That person you gave
00:28:53.580 a ride last week to
00:28:54.720 whose car broke down,
00:28:56.280 that guy is going to remember
00:28:57.380 that you did that.
00:28:58.900 He's going to remember
00:28:59.820 and when he does
00:29:01.360 and you need something,
00:29:03.040 you've got somebody
00:29:03.780 that you can call for help
00:29:05.000 because you've fostered
00:29:06.900 this relationship
00:29:07.540 because you've added value
00:29:08.860 because you planted
00:29:10.240 and watered the tree
00:29:11.440 to use the cliche metaphor
00:29:13.700 before you needed the shade.
00:29:17.600 How are you producing?
00:29:19.200 How are you showing up
00:29:20.120 for your boss?
00:29:20.880 Because I'll tell you what,
00:29:22.400 let's go back to this
00:29:23.380 mandatory training
00:29:25.660 and the face masks
00:29:26.740 and the vaccines
00:29:27.460 and the doing things
00:29:28.300 that go against your morals
00:29:29.440 and your principles
00:29:30.060 and standards.
00:29:30.920 If you're the highest
00:29:31.940 producing person
00:29:32.800 in the office,
00:29:33.820 meaning you're indispensable,
00:29:35.860 like the company
00:29:36.440 cannot afford to lose you
00:29:37.720 because if they did,
00:29:38.540 they would take a major hit.
00:29:39.780 I guarantee you got some more weight
00:29:41.620 when it comes to this
00:29:42.320 mandatory bullcrap
00:29:43.240 they're trying to impose
00:29:44.220 because they know
00:29:47.760 they could potentially lose you
00:29:48.960 and that gives you
00:29:49.840 the frame
00:29:50.820 that we talked about
00:29:51.580 a couple weeks ago
00:29:52.420 on the last Friday Field Notes.
00:29:54.080 you're maintaining your frame.
00:29:57.340 Oh, and also,
00:29:58.060 you've been networking
00:29:59.320 with everybody else
00:30:00.240 and you've got
00:30:00.780 potentially five,
00:30:02.180 ten,
00:30:02.520 a dozen different job
00:30:03.700 opportunities lined up.
00:30:05.040 Don't you think
00:30:05.580 you got some more weight
00:30:06.500 with your employer?
00:30:10.800 Guys, produce,
00:30:12.260 produce,
00:30:13.060 produce,
00:30:13.760 produce.
00:30:14.220 Stop taking,
00:30:15.600 stop consuming so much.
00:30:18.160 Stop wasting resources.
00:30:19.700 Stop taking advantage
00:30:20.640 of people.
00:30:22.320 Stop trying to extract
00:30:23.480 every little thing
00:30:24.520 out of people
00:30:25.360 and instead serve them.
00:30:27.540 Produce,
00:30:28.980 help where you can,
00:30:30.420 offer assistance
00:30:31.140 and not always
00:30:32.100 is it going to come back
00:30:33.100 but over time
00:30:35.620 and on the average
00:30:37.800 it will.
00:30:39.220 It absolutely will.
00:30:40.960 It's an eternal principle.
00:30:43.020 Produce more than you can consume.
00:30:45.480 So that's it, guys.
00:30:49.060 You've got to inoculate yourself
00:30:50.600 against this bullcrap.
00:30:52.380 And by the way,
00:30:52.760 there's something else
00:30:53.300 you need to inoculate yourself against.
00:30:55.100 Just losing your job.
00:30:58.020 Like people lose their jobs
00:30:59.140 all the time.
00:30:59.600 They get fired.
00:31:00.180 They get laid off.
00:31:01.460 They have a medical issue
00:31:02.400 or condition.
00:31:03.820 There's all sorts of reasons
00:31:04.880 you might just lose your job
00:31:06.000 outside of
00:31:06.720 some of these mandate type things.
00:31:10.240 Are you ready for that?
00:31:12.000 Are you prepared?
00:31:13.400 If you're not,
00:31:15.580 don't tell it,
00:31:16.200 don't say I didn't tell you so
00:31:17.560 because that's what
00:31:19.340 I'm telling you right now
00:31:20.000 and I've been telling you
00:31:20.620 it for five years
00:31:21.280 and some of you,
00:31:22.500 like I said earlier,
00:31:23.120 have been sleeping on it
00:31:24.020 and now you're sending me a message
00:31:25.300 and you're like,
00:31:25.680 hey, my boss is asking me to do this
00:31:26.980 and I don't want to do this.
00:31:28.940 Well, you have two choices.
00:31:30.260 You can leave
00:31:31.100 or you can do it.
00:31:36.220 And if you're not in the position
00:31:37.500 financially to leave,
00:31:38.500 then you're going to have to do it.
00:31:40.020 And I don't want that to be the case
00:31:41.220 because that relinquishes
00:31:42.420 your sovereignty.
00:31:43.600 You're relinquishing control.
00:31:45.280 You're losing your frame
00:31:47.240 as a man to go back
00:31:48.060 to that Friday field notes
00:31:49.040 I did two weeks ago.
00:31:51.040 Maintain the frame.
00:31:53.020 Inoculate yourself
00:31:53.800 against this stuff.
00:31:55.420 Implement these four strategies.
00:31:56.860 Master networking,
00:31:57.860 zero debt,
00:31:59.120 multiple income streams,
00:32:00.280 and learning to be a producer.
00:32:02.280 Produce more than you consume.
00:32:04.300 All right, guys.
00:32:05.440 Shoot me a message
00:32:06.120 on Instagram,
00:32:07.900 Facebook,
00:32:08.260 Twitter,
00:32:08.540 wherever,
00:32:09.300 email,
00:32:09.820 whatever.
00:32:10.500 Shoot me a message
00:32:11.320 and let me know
00:32:12.640 what you're doing,
00:32:13.360 what's working,
00:32:13.940 what isn't,
00:32:14.380 some of this bull crap you're seeing
00:32:15.460 because the more,
00:32:16.360 the more we see this,
00:32:17.660 the more we need to talk about it
00:32:18.820 so people know
00:32:19.640 what they're up against
00:32:20.320 and they can actually come up with
00:32:21.780 and formulate a plan
00:32:22.700 that's going to help them
00:32:23.540 put them and their families
00:32:24.920 and their people
00:32:25.400 in a better position.
00:32:26.660 So keep sharing,
00:32:27.980 keep spreading the good word,
00:32:29.620 take a screenshot
00:32:30.320 just right now
00:32:31.140 as you're listening to this,
00:32:32.320 screenshot it,
00:32:33.300 post it up on Instagram
00:32:34.240 or Facebook or Twitter
00:32:35.160 and say,
00:32:35.600 hey,
00:32:35.720 I listened to the Order of Man podcast
00:32:36.960 about inoculating yourself
00:32:38.280 against employee mandates
00:32:40.160 and let people know
00:32:41.760 what you're listening to
00:32:42.520 and where you're finding
00:32:43.300 your information
00:32:43.920 because more and more men
00:32:44.940 need to hear this
00:32:45.640 and frankly,
00:32:47.120 more people in society,
00:32:48.180 men and women,
00:32:49.140 need to hear what we're sharing here.
00:32:50.880 All right, guys,
00:32:51.440 we'll be back next week.
00:32:52.560 Until then,
00:32:53.240 go out there,
00:32:54.260 inoculate yourself
00:32:55.100 against all this mandatory bull crap
00:32:56.700 and become the man
00:32:57.960 you are meant to be.
00:32:59.380 Thank you for listening
00:33:00.200 to the Order of Man podcast.
00:33:02.300 If you're ready to take charge
00:33:03.320 of your life
00:33:03.880 and be more of the man
00:33:05.040 you were meant to be,
00:33:06.300 we invite you to join the order
00:33:07.620 at orderofman.com.
00:33:10.160 Thank you.
