00:00:00.000 Bringing my total debt, drumroll please, to $528,207.
00:00:08.720 What up guys? Welcome to my reaction series. Today we are reacting to women being bad at things. 1.00
00:00:15.620 Now oftentimes I hear that not all women are like that and that there are some very smart and
00:00:20.220 intelligent women. However, I have to push back because it seems like even the smartest and most 1.00
00:00:25.740 intelligent women still make terrible life decisions even when women are intelligent it 1.00
00:00:31.060 does not take away from the fact that we are women now today we're gonna react to women that
00:00:36.580 are female doctors are supposed to be above average in intelligence you may think and we 1.00
00:00:43.160 are gonna see them budget their money let's see if they make intelligent decisions or 0.67
00:00:47.900 unintelligent decisions i can't imagine where this will go okay and as a female neurosurgeon 0.99
00:00:54.040 living in san francisco my monthly income of 32 000 just hit my account so i'm sitting down to
00:01:00.360 plan my budget and see exactly where a man would never brag about his income like this but again
00:01:04.680 women like status so she's signaling i am high status where it's going i start by writing down
00:01:09.400 the payday and the amount then i move straight into my bills if a man made that much money he
00:01:14.920 would be saving for retirement in a few years six thousand five hundred dollars for my apartment
00:01:20.760 420 dollars for electricity water and gas 120 for internet 140 for my phone bill and 180
00:01:30.920 for insurance 6k and rent jesus and subscriptions next are my lifestyle expenses
00:01:41.160 wow that is a big grocery bill hundred dollars on groceries and 900 eating out
00:01:46.680 jeez christ nine hundred dollars on 750 a month on clothes eating out because hospital hours are
00:01:53.320 brutal 750 on clothes and work wear 180 for my gym membership and you know what i'm a gym girly
00:02:02.760 i'll approve that expense that i'm a woman a thousand bucks on skin care yes i won't lie
00:02:08.600 about one thousand one hundred dollars a month goes to skin care hair massages and self-care
00:02:15.160 because stress management is non-negotiable in my job then you got to be stressed about
00:02:20.360 managing all those appointments after that come my debts that's why i don't really like
00:02:25.640 you know it's so crazy that's why i like getting my nails done is i don't want to walk down the
00:02:29.000 street four thousand two hundred dollars toward my student loans eight hundred fifty dollar car
00:02:34.360 payment and eight hundred fifty dollars for my car payment then we get to savings which is a big
00:02:40.920 priority for me. $6,000 into investments, $4,000 into retirement accounts, and $1,200 set aside
00:02:49.120 for travel, so I always have something to look forward to. Whatever's left after all that stays
00:02:55.620 in my checking account as a buffer and flexible spending. A few years ago, this kind of income
00:03:01.680 still felt overwhelming to manage, but now every dollar has a purpose. She'll quit in a few years. 0.82
00:03:08.040 so I mean yeah that's the challenge is even when women are intelligent we still make stupid 1.00
00:03:12.660 decisions like I heard I heard this guy um he would date doctors and literally they all even 0.99
00:03:17.800 with all the stuff they know about STDs they still let men hit raw isn't that incredible
00:03:22.120 okay um total debt as a 29 year old doctor okay today we're going to talk about how much debt I'm
00:03:28.940 in as a 29 year old doctor first things first student loans so in student loans I currently
00:03:35.500 owe $282,256. And that's after going to a state school and with no debt from undergrad. That's
00:03:45.320 all medical school. So that's why you shouldn't be a doctor just for the money because it's so
00:03:52.040 much debt. Next, my mortgage. Oh, $282,000. I currently owe $240,945. That's not slavery. I
00:04:03.320 don't know what is that's a 30-year fixed loan i'm probably not gonna pay that off for a while
00:04:07.800 and then in credit cards i if you're by yourself i don't know if she's married or has kids i don't
00:04:13.460 see a ring why would you buy a house that big so five thousand and six dollars across four
00:04:18.460 different cards bringing my total debt drum roll please to five hundred and twenty eight thousand
00:04:25.800 207 dollars yeah um seeing that number makes me realize like i'm probably going to have a negative
00:04:35.480 network like till i'm at least 40 and it is just it is what it is men would not say that they would
00:04:43.080 say where can i cut expenses but women are gonna women i don't think we really understand money 1.00
00:04:47.480 like men do okay budget my paycheck with me check with me as a 26 year old resident doctor living
00:04:53.240 in South Florida. My monthly paycheck after taxes is $4,081. The first thing that I do every month
00:04:59.820 is pay all of my bills. I start by paying my rent, which is $2,300. For electricity, I pay $75.
00:05:07.040 My water bill is $90. That's okay, actually. Two grand for rent. That's decent.
00:05:11.660 For internet, I pay $40. Renters insurance, $15. My phone bill is $80. My car is paid off,
00:05:19.500 so I only have to pay car insurance, which is $100. And for gas, I budget $80. This is it.
00:05:25.120 I'm going to be really impressed. In terms of my daily living, I budget for groceries, $300.
00:05:31.400 That's all really good. $150. My subscriptions, $40. And then I budget $150 for miscellaneous.
00:05:38.700 In terms of my health, I like to budget for my co-pays and medications, $80. My gym membership,
00:05:45.360 which is currently ClassPass, I pay $90. And then for my physician's disability insurance,
00:05:50.900 I pay $100. For my student loans, I'm currently paying $300. Wow, this is not bad. So my total
00:05:58.280 expenses prior to savings come out to $3,990. What I have left over from that is approximately $91.
00:06:06.560 Oh, shit. She only makes four grand. I'm currently not contributing anything to my Roth IRA. 0.99
00:06:11.900 and all the money that I have left over, which is $91, I put towards my emergency fund.
00:06:17.540 I did my paycheck with me.
00:06:19.060 A resident doctor.
00:06:20.940 So does that mean she has the low income until she gets high income? 1.00
00:06:25.000 I actually didn't think the expenses were bad for South Florida.
00:06:29.580 But I would say what's eating it mostly, half of her income is spent on rent. 1.00
00:06:33.480 And I think it's really because women want to live in these cool areas.
00:06:36.660 I don't know enough about like medical.
00:06:39.940 like i haven't really spent a ton of time in that industry so i don't know if she has to be there
00:06:44.420 but that's crazy she only has 91 bucks left um i would have lived at home or with or got a roommate 1.00
00:06:51.540 anyways guys um let me know what you think of the comments i love you guys thanks for watching and
00:06:57.000 um do you know any women in high earning professions that just make terrible decisions 1.00
