00:00:00.000 Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
00:00:25.460 Welcome to another episode of Pearl Daily here on the Audacity Network.
00:00:32.160 As usual, if you guys want to support me and my work, we are currently demonetized on the
00:00:38.400 channel, so it would be really helpful if you guys went to theaudacitynetwork.com and
00:00:43.180 got either a monthly or a yearly membership on the website.
00:00:47.840 All of the memberships go towards bringing guests on the show, production, upgrading
00:00:53.400 sets, equipment, that sort of thing.
00:00:55.460 Um, on top of that, it helps us fund some of our documentaries that we have coming up.
00:01:02.200 And yeah, so if you guys want to help out, feel free.
00:01:05.740 If not, enjoy the show.
00:01:07.840 So today, um, what sparked the topic today was a video that I saw going viral on X.
00:01:18.420 And this was a video of a young woman.
00:01:20.780 I'm going to show it later, who was a nanny for a couple in New York. And you can see in the
00:01:27.000 background that it is a nice house. And this woman is stunning. She is probably a nine on one to 10, 0.95
00:01:34.680 eight or nine, attractive young woman playing with this baby in the kitchen, obviously the primary
00:01:42.060 caretaker. And this is a phenomenon that I have seen across America, where there are many women
00:01:50.520 that are working now, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. But I see that they often choose to work 1.00
00:02:01.760 over spending time with their kids. So a little backstory on me, if you don't know, my name is
00:02:08.520 Pearl Davis, and I am originally from Chicago. And I was selling copiers during the COVID pandemic
00:02:16.540 when I ended up stumbling onto red pill and media content.
00:02:22.520 I end up moving to England for volleyball,
00:02:27.320 quitting my job selling copiers
00:02:28.840 and interviewing 1,000 people.
00:02:31.320 And during this interview process
00:02:33.460 where I am asking people about culture,
00:02:36.400 their upbringing, relationships,
00:02:38.660 I found that many women and men today
00:02:42.660 were raised by daycare and not their mothers.
00:02:46.540 So I started researching the topic, and according to towards health care,
00:02:58.260 the U.S. child care market soared at 59.87, so almost $60 billion in 2023.
00:03:09.620 And it's projected to climb in the U.S. to $88 billion by 2033.
00:03:17.340 So what does this tell us?
00:03:20.240 It could be one of two things.
00:03:22.360 It could be that maybe we can't survive on one income anymore, and that's the only choice. 0.56
00:03:28.160 But I've had economists and women that did stay home,
00:03:31.820 and often what I've heard is that the cost of daycare is similar to the cost 1.00
00:03:40.560 of childcare so option two is that women would prefer to chase a career rather
00:03:49.700 than be mothers and I think that if more women were honest their choices in life 1.00
00:03:56.340 would indicate that they don't really want to be mothers. So child care involves 1.00
00:04:03.780 caring for children with their parents or guardians are unavailable. It goes
00:04:09.300 beyond just keeping an eye on them. It includes providing a safe
00:04:14.520 and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and grow. U.S. child care
00:04:19.340 can occur in daycare centers, preschools, or an at-home babysitter. The goal is to
00:04:24.240 to support the child's development, ensure that they are happy, healthy, and learning
00:04:28.540 new things while their parents are away.
00:04:30.920 The U.S. child care market is a dynamic and vital component of the nation's social infrastructure.
00:04:38.920 With a growing emphasis on early childhood education and the increasing number of working
00:04:43.640 parents, the demand for quality child care services has surged in recent years.
00:04:49.340 The blog aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the U.S. child care market, including key
00:04:55.880 trends, challenges, and opportunities.
00:04:59.620 So I'm not going to go too much into this, but I just want to show some of these.
00:05:08.020 Hold on.
00:05:09.020 I want to find, let me see the, okay.
00:05:13.140 If you want to show this on the screen, this is just the projections they have, so it's
00:05:17.480 around $60 million and the child care market is going up and up and up. And when I was in the UK,
00:05:23.180 I think this is pretty common there. It seemed like every other person, like their kid was either
00:05:28.880 in daycare or maybe they grew up in daycare. You can take this. So I want to talk about a concept
00:05:37.380 that I talked about last show. There is a difference between being married and being a wife.
00:05:43.820 Now, I'm going to show you guys the nanny video.
00:05:50.220 So, okay, let me make sure this isn't on 2X.
00:06:20.220 It's healthy, right?
00:06:26.220 We're going to celebrate that we're in our first year, right?
00:06:32.220 Who is it?
00:06:38.220 It's my house.
00:06:42.220 Cheers!
00:06:44.220 I love you, I love you
00:06:46.220 I love you
00:06:52.220 For Henry
00:06:54.220 Because it's our first year together
00:06:58.220 It's delicious
00:07:00.220 I love you
00:07:02.220 I love you
00:07:04.220 I love you
00:07:06.220 I'm so happy
00:07:08.220 I don't know how long I've been with Henry
00:07:10.220 I'll never lose contact
00:07:12.220 okay so number one that baby is so cute but what came to my mind when i saw this is
00:07:33.500 is it goes back to what we talked about last show. Wives are selfless, and they spend their 1.00
00:07:45.980 days thinking about others. And when you spend your day on a career, not, and I understand some
00:07:54.660 people's financial situations, that is what it is. But what I've found to be more common is that
00:08:01.300 people want the bigger house they want the bigger lifestyle rather than spending time with their 1.00
00:08:08.240 children so this woman is more of a wife oftentimes than the woman that's married 0.98
00:08:16.440 because she's the one playing the role and this I don't think is smart I don't know if it's the 1.00
00:08:24.840 smartest thing in the world to have a woman that attractive in your kitchen. And the thing that I 1.00
00:08:34.000 thought of was Jennifer Gardner found out about Ben Affleck's affair with their 28-year-old nanny.
00:08:42.860 So Ben Affleck is one of Hollywood's hottest actors in terms of talent and charisma. His
00:08:48.960 ability to embody a character while maintaining his authenticity as an actor is noteworthy.
00:08:54.840 Apart from his roles and many Hollywood blockbusters, he was in the limelight for his
00:09:04.360 tumultuous love life. I know he's with J-Lo now, but this is before. So before marrying
00:09:10.300 Jennifer Lopez, Affleck was in a loving marriage with 13 Going on 30 actress Jennifer Gardner.
00:09:17.020 Sadly, after they split, news of his scandal came to light.
00:09:22.660 Back in 2016, his ex-wife, Gardner, opened up about what she knew of his affair.
00:09:31.160 So again, this is a woman that looks like this. 0.99
00:09:36.820 I mean, women, do we think we're better than Jennifer Gardner? 0.99
00:09:40.060 and the issue she had is she's married but she wasn't acting like a wife and what I would see
00:09:49.260 time and time again is many times when men are married but they don't have a woman that acts
00:09:54.700 like a wife they tend to step out of the marriage and it's not necessarily a looks thing it's that
00:10:03.420 they feel ignored and they don't feel taken care of and when you invite another woman into your
00:10:09.100 kitchen doing the things that you're supposed to be doing, 0.98
00:10:15.460 we can't really get overly surprised when that happens.
00:10:20.260 It doesn't happen all the time, right?
00:10:21.940 And there are some cases where you may need,
00:10:26.920 you know, it makes sense for a family.
00:10:29.560 But I think the issue you get is when that becomes
00:10:32.660 the kid's primary caretaker.
00:10:36.780 So in a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair magazine,
00:10:46.780 the actress got candid about everything she knew
00:10:48.960 about her ex-husband's alleged affair
00:10:51.180 with a 28-year-old nanny, Christine Anuzaouian,
00:11:00.060 a year after her divorce.
00:11:02.120 Before Affleck and Gardner separated,
00:11:04.000 they seemed to have a great marriage.
00:11:05.360 from heartwarming PDA moments to welcoming three children, Violet, Seferina, and Samuel.
00:11:13.760 The couple seemed to have it all together until the tabloids broke nudes of Affleck's affair.
00:11:19.280 In her conversation with the publication, Gardner clarified one vital piece of information.
00:11:24.580 We had been separated four months before I even heard about the nanny.
00:11:28.620 She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. 0.66
00:11:31.260 She was not part of the equation.
00:11:33.300 Gardner's confession insinuated that the two had perhaps had a lot of trouble in Paradise,
00:11:38.760 eventually leading to their separation.
00:11:40.940 Furthermore, it suggests that maybe the nanny's alleged intervention was a coincidence.
00:11:45.520 Nevertheless, it was not an easy decision or experience for her family.
00:11:49.800 Gardner emphasized the aftermath of it on her children while shading Affleck, claiming he made bad judgment.
00:11:56.820 it. Gardner added, it's not great for your kids for a nanny to disappear from their lives. Her 0.84
00:12:04.240 thought suggests that perhaps Ausein was pretty close with the children because of how much time
00:12:10.320 she spent with them. Additionally, Gardner pointed out, I have conversations with the children about
00:12:16.020 the meaning of the scandal. So, and this is kind of what you get. And this isn't just nannies,
00:12:23.280 it's daycare it's even some kids have a hard time with teachers that they're close to
00:12:30.960 when you have a adult that's spending so much time with the children that that's their primary
00:12:37.360 caretaker when they leave it a lot of times the kids struggle when they're older with attachment
00:12:44.320 issues and if you talk to therapists a lot of them will say that this leaves i mean i know we how we
00:12:51.200 feel about trauma on this channel. I mean, it's not really, you know, but it's not good for the
00:12:56.640 kids emotionally. And this is just something that I would notice is that, and again, this isn't all
00:13:06.380 there very involved wives and mothers out there, but all of the data is indicating that when
00:13:12.800 they're given the choice, they pick the career over their children. I mean, think about how big
00:13:20.560 $60 billion is as an industry. So if many women were brutally honest, I think there's many women 0.99
00:13:31.720 that want to be married, but they don't want to put in the work to be a wife. And that doesn't 1.00
00:13:37.620 make them bad people. It just means it's not the right role.
00:13:47.020 So let me, so there's a couple of issues. Oh no, I lost this video.
00:13:56.120 There's a couple of issues too. You get, when you introduce a nanny into your kids' life, 0.96
00:14:02.640 a lot of times you don't know too much about the person that is spending a ton of time with
00:14:08.420 your children. So there are these stories that keep, oh yeah, this one. Tonight, the fall.
00:14:21.840 There are these stories that keep coming up in the news, right? So here's one.
00:14:25.680 tonight the fall and the fall out a daycare workers move lands her in jail and it's all
00:14:35.500 caught on camera good evening i'm matt austin and emily sabelle deputies say she pulled a chair
00:14:40.100 out from under a child now she is charged with child abuse this happened at the children's house
00:14:45.780 of learning on state road 44 in sorrento jennifer ortega is there live tonight jen what did the
00:14:51.780 teacher have to say about this?
00:14:55.600 Well, Lisa, we actually went to her house, but nobody was home tonight.
00:14:59.340 She told deputies she admitted to pulling the chair from under the child,
00:15:03.400 but that the child did not hit his head.
00:15:07.620 Take a good look at this classroom filled of children. Investigators say
00:15:11.720 Belinda Greer, shown in the video wearing a blue shirt, is reading a book
00:15:15.820 to the kids at the Children's House of Learning. Moments later, she gets up,
00:15:20.300 walks over to a four-year-old boy and pulls the chair from under him.
00:15:24.560 Deputies say the boy fell to the floor and appears to hit his head on the seat.
00:15:28.840 You can see he puts his hands on his face and begins to cry.
00:15:32.720 Greer then goes back to her seat.
00:15:34.540 You have to ask the question, who are the people that are raising these kids?
00:15:39.180 It's not even the parents.
00:15:41.660 So what I've seen, and my sister actually, she's 19,
00:15:48.180 and she worked at a daycare for two years. And she would tell me that she could easily tell
00:15:54.360 based on the behavior of the kids whose parents were involved in their lives and who just dropped
00:16:00.340 them off. And, you know, she would tell me about kids that their parents would drop them off first
00:16:07.980 thing in the morning and get them after dinner. Who's watching your kid? Maybe my sister, you
00:16:15.120 know, but you don't know who that person is. You could get a daycare employee that has some 0.99
00:16:23.880 super left ideology that you don't agree with. It could be a predator. It could be anybody. And 0.81
00:16:34.440 even when I was in college, I would do babysitting gigs and it would amaze me how, and I'm good with
00:16:41.760 kids, right? I can watch a child. They were fine. They were good kids. But it would amaze me
00:16:47.380 how little information these parents would have on me. They don't know me. They didn't even know
00:16:52.860 my last name, no background check, no nothing. And they just handed me their most prized
00:16:57.980 possessions so they could go to dinner downtown. I mean, you can, but the more and more people do
00:17:08.120 that, the more we're going to get situations like this. And this is not just a one-off. These are
00:17:13.380 in the news like every other day. And continues reading the book to the class. This incident
00:17:18.160 happened back in- I'm not trying to be rude. I don't want to say it. Don't make me say it.
00:17:30.160 Don't make me.
00:17:36.280 No, I'm going to keep it in.
00:17:38.180 I'm going to keep it in April.
00:17:40.080 Greer was arrested and is now being charged with child abuse.
00:17:43.560 We went to Greer's house to ask her what happened.
00:17:47.460 But no one answered the door.
00:17:49.600 According to the arrest warrant, Greer told deputies the child did not hit his head.
00:17:54.180 She went on to say she left him sitting on the floor because he was throwing a fit.
00:18:00.160 Now it's still unclear if Greer is still employed at the...
00:18:04.920 Okay, so let me get back to the...
00:18:08.180 There's a couple more I wanted to show you guys.
00:18:11.700 Two daycare workers are facing charges.
00:18:14.020 One of them is accused of abusing two babies.
00:18:17.680 Deputies say the abuse resulted in fractures in a baby's leg.
00:18:22.120 The incidents were recorded on video at Time of Wonder Academy in Tampa.
00:18:28.040 Fox 13's Aaron Mesmer is joining us now live at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
00:18:31.840 Aaron, you spoke with the co-owner of this facility today.
00:18:34.840 Tell us what she said.
00:18:37.420 Well, Kelly, just like many of us, she couldn't believe her eyes as she watched that video.
00:18:42.140 And she is glad that the people involved were arrested swiftly.
00:18:46.660 At 8 a.m. on September 8th, a security camera at Time of Wonder Daycare in Tampa
00:18:51.360 recorded a worker lifting a one-year-old out of a motorized swing by his wrists
00:18:56.220 and placing him hard onto the floor.
00:18:59.020 Investigators say doing so caused the child to fracture his tibia and fibula,
00:19:03.660 two bones in his leg.
00:19:05.020 I can't believe somebody can do that one with a child.
00:19:09.260 Neither can Hillsborough deputies.
00:19:10.880 But as surveillance video shows, it didn't stop there.
00:19:14.320 At 11 a.m.
00:19:15.400 Oh, my goodness. 1.00
00:19:17.660 That woman was just playing on her phone. 0.57
00:19:19.940 Detectives say Ymirka Menendez hit that same child in the head
00:19:23.940 while he was in the electronic swing.
00:19:26.220 Later that same day, Menendez is accused of slapping a four-month-old and yanking that child's leg during feeding time.
00:19:33.180 Bianca D'Andrea, the daycare's co-owner, was on the verge of tears as she discussed the video.
00:19:41.440 I spent more hours with these children than the parents.
00:19:46.920 That video is a nightmare. It's a nightmare.
00:19:50.920 The sheriff's office was notified after the one-year-old's mother took the child to the hospital.
00:19:54.980 jirachi said i spend more time with the children than the parents so who's influencing the kids
00:20:04.420 do the kids belong to the parents or do they belong to the states
00:20:08.740 because of the leg injuries menendez faces child abuse charges i understand that we are human
00:20:14.260 but i cannot understand that you are and behave like an animal milagros rodriguez is the woman
00:20:21.780 who was in the daycare room with don't make me say it
00:20:30.100 i have a this is a new leaf pearl you have a new leaf don't say it don't
00:20:37.380 nope nope nope menendez she's charged with failure to just their faces all look the same
00:20:45.060 they all look the same they all look they have the crazy eyes they have the i mean can you guys
00:20:51.620 not pick that out the psychopath i mean they all have it they all okay the abuse dandrea is furious
00:21:00.420 with the workers of course i am i i feel embarrassed because it's like it's happening in my house she
00:21:06.740 says she still trusts the rest of her employees and she hopes the parents of other children there
00:21:11.620 do too this is why you got to put a man in charge if there is a man in charge he would not just
00:21:21.300 trust the other employees there would be some sort of but not all men and not all women and
00:21:26.660 that's just uh just ignore that you guys parents you are my eyes any little thing i have to know
00:21:34.580 because we are here to protect children and diario says that both women passed strict
00:21:41.460 background checks and had no prior arrests and it's crazy i've had people give me their kids
00:21:46.500 with no background check none now don't get me wrong those kids were great they were fine but
00:21:57.620 it amaze it actually amazes me how unprotective people are of children it even amazes me when
00:22:07.620 when I see women post their kids on the internet, 1.00
00:22:12.080 knowing that the internet is full of weirdos, pedos, 1.00
00:22:17.500 all of this stuff.
00:22:19.220 And men, I've seen men do it too.
00:22:20.700 I've seen both genders do it.
00:22:22.440 But, 1.00
00:22:26.340 sorry.
00:22:27.740 But it amazes me.
00:22:30.020 There's so many crazy people on the internet
00:22:32.560 and you're posting personal information about your kids.
00:22:35.900 and it's one thing when they're adults right or they're close to adults you
00:22:40.140 know but they'll be four or five years old and I've seen them post temper
00:22:45.080 tantrums of kids I mean don't kids deserve privacy when they're growing up
00:22:51.460 let me check the chat really quick sorry guys I want sometimes I forget to pull
00:22:58.420 you guys up because I have one screen
00:23:05.900 oh i think i've seen that that was in england right full story many words will be used to
00:23:21.060 describe the crimes of lucy let me and there is a question that will also be asked many times
00:23:27.840 why would she why would a nurse whose job it was to care for babies murder and harm them
00:23:35.680 in the hospital where she worked.
00:23:38.300 There is a reality, I think,
00:23:39.560 that we may never really know the answer to that.
00:23:42.540 I was in court as Lucy Letby gave evidence.
00:23:45.700 She didn't give us an answer.
00:23:47.060 She said all of this was a conspiracy against her,
00:23:49.980 that she did nothing wrong.
00:23:52.260 But there are other questions
00:23:53.680 where I think there will increasingly be a demand for answers.
00:23:58.460 Oh, gosh, she did nothing wrong.
00:24:00.800 Like, how is she able to do this?
00:24:03.700 and should she have been stopped sooner?
00:24:08.280 This is the morning of Lucy Letby's arrest.
00:24:11.460 Hello, Lucy, is it?
00:24:12.380 Yes.
00:24:12.540 Hello, my name is Manchester, please.
00:24:14.160 Let me step in two seconds.
00:24:15.600 Oh, yes.
00:24:16.100 Yeah, thank you. 0.99
00:24:19.240 The smile's gone and she's in handcuffs a few minutes later.
00:24:22.440 Yeah, not a problem. 1.00
00:24:27.980 A nurse who murdered babies, 1.00
00:24:30.200 lucy let me has always denied and never explained now guilty of using her job
00:24:40.240 someone said people are searching for babysitters on marketplace yeah i'm pretty sure i was found
00:24:45.880 on a facebook page i could be anybody here my most loved and cherished possession i'm gonna
00:24:52.820 go downtown to the city here random college girl all the time all so many of my friends
00:24:58.800 and it was in like a wealthy area my college so you could you could make such good money doing it
00:25:05.520 and it would always be on saturday so you just put the kids to bed early 0.50
00:25:09.680 and i'm thinking you guys have no idea who i am but you know to kill again and again
00:25:17.040 take a seat in there for me lucy i'll move that seat forward a bit sure just that knee surgery 0.76
00:25:22.320 Oh right, okay. 0.99
00:25:25.680 Lucy Letby was entrusted to protect some of the most vulnerable babies.
00:25:30.400 Let's see if there's like a quicker video of this.
00:25:34.640 Yeah guys, it's, this is a, oh a timeline.
00:25:39.120 She is not the first NHS serial killer and Lucy Letby-
00:25:43.120 She's not the first one? There was more than one?
00:25:47.600 how many he is unlikely to be the last beverly allett harold shipman and colin norris were all
00:25:59.440 convicted of murdering their patients and as with lucy letby in each case the authorities
00:26:05.520 were asked why weren't they stopped sooner dr shipman targeted those who trusted him
00:26:16.640 elderly vulnerable patients and injected them with morphine the bodies of nine of his victims
00:26:22.960 were exhumed as part of the police investigation he was jailed in 2000 and killed himself in prison
00:26:29.840 four years later she has been found with a quantity that much insulin in her elderly patients were
00:26:38.720 also the target of colin norris a young nurse who went rogue in 2008 he was found guilty of
00:26:45.840 murdering four and trying to kill a fifth but the closest comparison to let be is perhaps
00:26:53.600 beverly allett also a nurse in her 20s also working on a children's ward this time in lincolnshire
00:27:01.120 in 1993 allett received 13 life sentences for the murder and attempted murder of infants and we
00:27:08.960 thought we'd try and look at this to see how big the phenomenon was criminologist david wilson has
00:27:14.960 studied doctors and nurses who become serial killers okay when are we going to get to susan
00:27:20.480 the person who kills within a healthcare setting has already developed the desire to kill before
00:27:28.320 they join response and they all realized that the common factor for each of them was let these
00:27:37.200 presence on the unit the first three babies died in june 2015 senior managers agreed to hold
00:27:44.960 eviction in 1993 criticized the speed of the hospital's response again there are comparisons
00:27:51.920 with lucy letby at the countess of chester hospital managers did not properly investigate
00:27:58.560 how 13 babies had died unexpectedly in a single year even though doctors had raised concerns
00:28:06.640 susan gilby took over running the nhs trust soon after lucy letby's arrest the pediatricians were
00:28:13.520 were discussing you know the terrible nights on call that they were having one of them said
00:28:19.960 every time I'm you know I'm this is happening to me that I'm being called in for these catastrophic
00:28:27.360 events which were unexpected and unexplained Lucy Letby is there and then somebody else said yes I
00:28:34.000 found that and then someone else had the same response and they all realized that the common
00:28:42.980 factor for each of them was Letby's presence on the unit. The first three babies died in June 2015.
00:28:51.520 Senior managers agreed to hold an external investigation. That never happened. Four months
00:28:57.540 later, four more babies were dead, and a staff analysis linked Lucy Letby to every one of them.
00:29:05.500 By the following February, ten babies had died, but when doctors asked two senior managers for
00:29:12.480 an urgent meeting, they did not respond for three months. In June, over two days, two
00:29:19.780 more babies died. Lucy Letby was on shift for both. By now, there had been 13 unexplained
00:29:27.480 deaths. In September, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health urged the trust
00:29:33.580 to investigate each death individually. That didn't happen.
00:29:39.240 It was only the following May, after continual pressure from staff, that the trust called
00:29:45.020 the police, almost two years after the first unexpected deaths.
00:29:51.140 When she was arrested in July 2018, Lucy Letby was still working at the trust, no disciplinary
00:29:57.660 action.
00:29:58.660 Do you think if the genders were reversed, that it would have gone under the radar for
00:30:06.900 so long? 1.00
00:30:09.720 because she sort of has an innocent look about her where you wouldn't really expect that
00:30:16.280 had been taken against her dyer wasn't caught for three decades who are you i'll look it up after
00:30:22.520 there is only one serial killer of babies that's worked in that organization and the executive
00:30:29.400 team were not the people who were responsible for the deaths of those babies but they had some
00:30:38.600 opportunities to get to the bottom of what was happening. The reputation of the organisation
00:30:44.520 and protecting that reputation was a big factor in how people responded to the concerns raised.
00:30:53.240 The months of inaction is no shock to this former NHS whistleblower and former NHS manager.
00:30:59.320 not surprised at all trusts generally delay everything for as long as is possible now
00:31:09.560 what's fascinating here is that like many nhs trusts in which tragedies have occurred okay
00:31:15.720 i think i think we get the idea so she killed wow someone said i should look up who's the other name
00:31:23.240 okay let me try it amelia dryer
00:31:26.280 what did she do the serial killer Amelia okay I did not think we were going to go down a serial
00:31:34.640 killer path today guys but hey I'm open if I was to ask you to think of a serial killer from the
00:31:43.000 Victorian era chances are Jack the Ripper would be the name that springs to mind but what if I
00:31:49.680 was to tell you there was a serial killer operating around the same time whose crimes
00:31:53.640 were arguably much, much worse
00:31:56.240 on a scale much grander
00:31:58.040 with memes much more insidious
00:32:00.680 and victims much more innocent.
00:32:04.500 Today, we're taking a look back
00:32:06.900 at the crimes of Old Mother Dyer.
00:32:23.640 Emilia Elizabeth Dyer Niehobley was the youngest of five siblings born in the small village
00:32:34.360 of Pile Marsh near Bristol. For most part her young life was bright. She was the daughter of
00:32:40.820 a master shoemaker and was lucky enough to learn to read and write developing a love of poetry
00:32:46.740 and literature. The brightness didn't last long. Her mother suffered from severe mental illness
00:32:53.260 brought on by typhus and being the youngest sibling Dyer was obliged to care for her ailing
00:32:58.940 mother as she descended into madness. During this period her older sister Sarah Anne died and her
00:33:06.220 mother went on to have another daughter a few years later who they also named Sarah Anne. Sadly
00:33:14.060 also passing away a few months after birth. Her mother eventually succumbed to her illness and
00:33:20.700 Dyer left the family home and moved to Bristol where she eventually met and married George
00:33:26.300 Thomas. He was 59 years old, Amelia 24. On their marriage certificate they both lied about their
00:33:33.580 ages to lessen the gap. Her adding six years, he surprisingly subtracting 11. After the marriage
00:33:41.980 Dyer began training to become an her. Get to it, what did she do? And during this time she met midwife 1.00
00:33:48.620 Ellen Dane who herself was a very sinister figure. She informed Dyer of an easier way to make money 1.00
00:33:55.740 by using her home as lodgings for young women who had conceived illegitimately. Life in Victorian
00:34:02.380 Britain was hard for single mothers who had children out of wedlock. In 1834 the Poor Law
00:34:08.940 Amendment Act removed any obligation for the fathers to pay for their unplanned offspring,
00:34:14.380 leaving mothers in a difficult financial bind. This along with the general stigmatizing of
00:34:20.300 single parenthood and illegitimacy gave rise to the practice of baby farming wherein individuals
00:34:28.140 nefarious or otherwise would act as adoption or fostering agents in return for regular payments
00:34:35.020 or an upfront fee from the mothers. Many businesses were set up to look after the pregnant women and
00:34:40.700 upon birth the baby would be left behind to be cared for as a nurse child the whole situation
00:34:47.740 was ripe for financial exploitation and that is exactly what happened if the child came from okay 1.00
00:34:54.060 what did this woman do what did well of parents who simply wanted to i need them to get keep the 1.00
00:34:59.020 birth secret then agents would charge a one-off fee of up to 80 pound the vast majority of those
00:35:05.100 seeking their services were impoverished however and they would command a fee of five pound a good
00:35:11.900 yearly wage would have been around the 20 to 30 pound mark so okay guys if you want me to play
00:35:17.500 these i gotta get a different video i'm just gonna assume this woman let me go here this is the most
00:35:23.020 six months hard labor despite the leniency of the sentence dyer found a difficult going
00:35:29.500 upon release she even in a caring Victorian home. Parents who wanted to check up on the children
00:35:36.760 they left behind would often come up against a brick wall. Most however were too ashamed to
00:35:42.720 pursue any thoughts of wrongdoing they may have had. This is the world that had been revealed to
00:35:49.480 Amelia Dyer and with the birth of her own daughter and the passing of her elderly husband she found
00:35:55.160 herself in need of an income. Despite all the years caring for her mother and those
00:36:00.600 spent nursing the ill, Dyer turned her hand to baby farming with sickening ease. She advertised
00:36:08.280 to nurse and adult babies in return for a substantial one-off payment along with adequate
00:36:13.240 clothing for the child. She assured her clients that she offered a warm and loving home.
00:36:18.680 in 1872 amelia married william dyer and they had two children of their own this didn't soften
00:36:26.860 amelia's dark heart in fact she grew tired of waiting for the poor children left in her care
00:36:32.500 to starve instead moving to kill them outright through strangulation and other means my this 1.00
00:36:40.400 was long before forensic tools were so oh my so she would just get money 0.98
00:36:47.140 for a baby 0.96
00:36:50.360 and then she would 1.00
00:36:54.520 she would just choke the babies to death 0.92
00:36:59.620 available to the police and so Dyer had little trouble avoiding their attention
00:37:06.240 that was until one doctor grew suspicious of the Amado child deaths he had been called to certify
00:37:13.700 at her home she soon found herself in front of a judge not charged with murder or manslaughter
00:37:20.660 however but the lesser charge of neglect she was found guilty and sentenced to a mere six
00:37:27.220 months hard labor six months you've got to be kidding despite the leniency of the sentence
00:37:35.720 dyer found a difficult going upon release she tried to resume a nursing career this being
00:37:42.900 interspersed with periods inside mental hospitals for alleged mental instability and suicidal
00:37:49.460 thoughts it must be noted that these times inside coincided quite well with times that she needed to
00:37:56.340 disappear from the prying eyes of the authorities dia had spent time as an aside wow she does not 0.97
00:38:04.100 i could see how she could get away with this for a while what would you guys rank her one to ten 1.00
00:38:08.900 give me give me hands one to ten
00:38:13.700 one to ten guys in the chat what do you rank her five six six okay i'm nurse i knew how to act 1.00
00:38:24.900 to ensure a i can see how she's got like a sweet look like you wouldn't really trip inside at a
00:38:30.420 okay you can't put zero guys we're in america we're in america we are all big here you're like
00:38:36.420 at least a five just by not being overweight i don't know what country you guys are in
00:38:44.420 the baby farming had started again but instead of learning her lessons she simply grew more
00:38:49.220 deceptive she no longer called upon doctors to issue death certificates and instead began to 0.96
00:38:55.940 dispose of the bodies once more they thought i mean i cover stories all the time dumpsters man 0.57
00:39:02.900 This is why I say this abortion thing, guys, it's not new. 0.84
00:39:07.320 It is not new.
00:39:08.520 But he's tried to pursue her, not least after one woman returned to check upon her child
00:39:13.020 and sensing Dyer's suspicious ways, asked to see a birthmark on the child's hip.
00:39:19.500 It wasn't there, and Dyer soon moved town.
00:39:23.760 This was another tactic she would employ.
00:39:26.640 Once the heat got too much in one town, she fled to another using a multitude of aliases.
00:39:32.900 She would eventually end up here in Caversham in Reading and already separated from her husband
00:39:42.420 she would find herself a new unsuspecting associate one Jane Granny Smith. Now Jane 0.61
00:39:50.620 would always be referred to as mother especially in front of new and unsuspecting parents. This 0.99
00:39:58.540 of course was to engender a feeling of mother-daughter loving relationship, especially when they
00:40:05.200 were about to hand over their child and indeed money. By now lying and murder was second nature
00:40:11.920 for Dyer. Advertising her services in Bristol newspapers under the name of Mrs Harding, she
00:40:18.080 would travel to collect her latest victim. Feigning the image of a caring would-be adopter, then instead
00:40:24.440 of making her way back to reading she would travel to her daughter's house in wilson london 1.00
00:40:29.960 once there she would use edging tape used in dress making wind around her victim's neck
00:40:35.720 pulling tightly until they were no more she later said that she used to enjoy watching 1.00
00:40:42.440 okay wait with the tape around their necks she enjoyed watching them she would then place the
00:40:48.760 bodies in bags and or suitcases and wade down oh my god okay you guys got me on this rabbit hole
00:40:54.440 I don't know. What is the chat on today? You guys are crazy. So we're done with this. We're
00:41:01.160 done with the serial killer rabbit hole because this wasn't even what I wanted to talk about
00:41:04.800 today. What I wanted to talk about was the trend of nannies and daycare and the issues that come
00:41:11.860 with it. And I also wanted to tell how I can tell if someone's a wife or not a wife. Now, again,
00:41:17.720 this is just my point of view. You can take it or leave it, but I'm going to use,
00:41:22.900 I'm going to use the whiteboard today.
00:41:27.180 So
00:41:27.520 Did I press it? I think I got it.
00:41:35.180 You guys are
00:41:36.300 You guys are crazy.
00:41:38.840 Crazy.
00:41:41.240 So
00:41:42.280 let's say
00:41:44.460 you have
00:41:45.540 thousands.
00:41:52.900 I'll give it to Santiago.
00:42:18.160 I'm sorry.
00:42:19.280 I don't know who that is.
00:42:22.900 um well so what i sorry guys you know we're new to the we're new to the country we got to figure
00:42:33.000 some stuff out but what you want to look at or i look at anyways is i told you guys what i think
00:42:40.120 of femininity it is selflessness right and when you think of the role of a traditional wife right
00:42:48.460 There's modern wives. It's not, you know, the end-all be-all. You can be married but not be a
00:42:54.060 traditional wife. It's whose needs does she put first? Hers or everybody else's? So when you put 1.00
00:43:04.260 your kid in daycare, if you have to, that's one thing. But if you're going after a high-paying
00:43:10.700 career instead of watching your kids, whose needs are you putting first? If
00:43:16.280 you're posting your children on the internet for the world to see, whose
00:43:22.700 needs are you putting first, yours or your kids? If you're belittling your
00:43:28.620 husband online, and I see this a lot, women basically using, or men too, but
00:43:37.600 you know the I'm never gonna get back in sorry sorry but um you see parents
00:43:47.420 posting there you sometimes see wives posting their husbands talking about all
00:43:56.860 of the things that their husband does for them as if it's a show and men don't
00:44:04.360 typically want to be in their home and feel like they're on show. Men tend to
00:44:11.260 value their privacy. They don't really want intimate details out there like 0.63
00:44:16.480 that. So when I start to see that, you pick up on patterns of behavior and you
00:44:22.620 can kind of register whether they're selfish or selfless. And selfless tends
00:44:31.720 to be more of the exception than the rule. Not a bad thing, right? Again, sometimes being selfish
00:44:38.860 leads people to achieving many things or, you know, whatever. The other issue I've seen with
00:44:47.620 nannies is they can bring on harmful, I guess, ideologies onto your kids. You don't know if 0.99
00:44:56.440 they're left you don't know if they're they they're a different religion they 0.83
00:45:00.820 could be putting you you don't know who's influencing your kids so when I see you
00:45:09.040 know mothers handing me their children off of a Facebook group page is that a
00:45:14.680 selfless behavior or selfish behavior and that's usually kind of how I decipher
00:45:21.080 for it. But yeah, I think that's all I got for today. Let me see if I had any other videos I was
00:45:30.200 going to show you guys. It's a little bit crazy out there, but let me know what you guys think
00:45:38.540 in the comments. We're going to go to theaudacitynetwork.com and we're going to stream
00:45:42.320 for another 30 minutes on the website. I usually just give personal stories or we just sometimes
00:45:49.060 i'll do a whiteboard video or whatever so go on there guys make sure you like the video on your
00:45:53.460 way out subscribe to the channel and i'll talk to you next time
