00:00:00.000 What makes you support this cause so much?
00:00:02.640 What makes it so important to you?
00:00:05.100 I treasure this province.
00:00:07.160 This province helped me.
00:00:09.520 Sorry, I almost want to crack a tear here.
00:00:12.320 But this province enabled me, raised me up
00:00:17.880 to be the person I hoped I could be.
00:00:21.060 There was every ladder,
00:00:22.320 every rung was in the ladder when I came here.
00:00:25.460 It's not like that today.
00:00:26.800 You know, all these young people,
00:00:30.000 all they want is a chance.
00:00:31.280 That's all anybody wants, a chance.
00:00:32.680 Feed their family, raise their family
00:00:35.040 the way they see fit.
00:00:36.340 Yeah.
00:00:46.080 The hands are the weak spot .
00:00:57.200 Like I can probably walk with flip flops.
00:00:59.840 The feet are fine.
00:01:00.800 It's the hand.
00:01:02.140 Hey everybody, it's PJ.
00:01:03.940 Coming at you from Red Deer area
00:01:06.720 where we got the convoy.
00:01:09.720 So people are starting to show
00:01:12.100 a long lines all around way back there, way up here.
00:01:17.720 I believe this is only Red Deer so far.
00:01:21.300 You're gonna have Edmonton and Calgary coming together
00:01:25.040 and converging here.
00:01:28.300 Ags, trying to document everything,
00:01:32.720 let you guys know,
00:01:34.280 cause you know that the mainstream media
00:01:35.920 is going to be lying and coming up with BS about this,
00:01:40.580 lying about everything.
00:01:41.820 So we're gonna tell you exactly what's going on out here.
00:01:55.040 I'm gonna try to talk to some people,
00:01:58.300 see what they have to say,
00:01:59.500 see what they think.
00:02:08.980 Heck yeah.
00:02:11.980 Freeberda, Freeberda.
00:02:13.300 How's it going?
00:02:14.560 Good to see you.
00:02:15.560 Good to see you guys here.
00:02:17.560 Good to see you.
00:02:18.560 How you doing, ma'am?
00:02:20.640 You guys here for the independence convoy,
00:02:22.720 I'm assuming, right?
00:02:23.640 Oh yeah.
00:02:24.480 It's getting bigger and bigger.
00:02:25.820 You guys want to say a couple of words?
00:02:27.780 I'm gonna make a documentary about it.
00:02:29.320 If you want, if you feel comfortable,
00:02:30.740 would you like to say a couple of words?
00:02:31.820 You're PJ, right?
00:02:32.660 Yes, sir.
00:02:33.500 Yes, sir.
00:02:34.340 We watch you all the time.
00:02:35.940 Oh, awesome, awesome.
00:02:37.500 Would you like to say a couple of words?
00:02:39.080 You bet.
00:02:39.860 How you doing, my man?
00:02:40.860 Amazing.
00:02:41.700 Love your hat, man.
00:02:42.520 Love your hat.
00:02:43.360 I just was gonna wear your hat.
00:02:44.580 Heck yeah.
00:02:45.580 That one looks beautiful.
00:02:47.040 And I thought, you know, PJ said he wasn't gonna make it.
00:02:49.960 He was that rude.
00:02:51.120 He was like, man, you made it.
00:02:53.080 I managed, I managed.
00:02:55.380 I managed, careful.
00:02:56.700 I managed to get out of the nine to five today.
00:02:59.040 Good to see you.
00:03:00.880 Good to see you.
00:03:01.800 We're out here in the convoy.
00:03:04.380 We're getting, converging Calgary, Edmonton,
00:03:09.040 and Red Deer.
00:03:10.260 We just made application to get a bigger highway.
00:03:12.600 Yeah, we need a bigger highway.
00:03:14.600 What brought you out here today, sir?
00:03:16.300 Well, we've been an independent supporter for a long time.
00:03:20.020 We started out with the Alberta Prosperity.
00:03:23.360 Yep.
00:03:23.660 We are still members with the Alberta Prosperity.
00:03:26.060 And we live in Didsbury, and we were sitting by the overpass
00:03:31.940 waiting for them to come through so we hooked up with them.
00:03:35.940 And I'm just amazed at how many people are actually here today.
00:03:39.280 Oh, yeah.
00:03:39.700 There's a lot of people here.
00:03:41.280 We definitely have to get as many signatures as possible.
00:03:46.280 We have, I think, over 5,000 canvassers.
00:03:52.280 $7,500 was the last.
00:03:53.620 Oh, yeah.
00:03:54.620 A lot more.
00:03:55.620 Oh, yeah.
00:03:56.620 And they want $10,000.
00:03:57.620 There you go.
00:03:58.620 What makes you support Alberta independence?
00:04:00.620 You, personally.
00:04:01.620 What makes you support the cost?
00:04:03.040 Personally, I was born and raised in Alberta.
00:04:07.300 My dad and my grandparents were born and raised in Alberta.
00:04:12.380 Or, yeah, well, my great-grandparents were born in the U.S.
00:04:17.380 and then they came over to Alberta.
00:04:20.180 We have never been treated fairly.
00:04:22.380 That's right.
00:04:23.380 All that time.
00:04:24.300 When I was young, my dad told me that we will never be treated properly by Eastern Canada.
00:04:31.540 And it's the same today.
00:04:33.040 And I'm almost 70 years old.
00:04:34.880 Nothing's changed.
00:04:35.700 And I hope that I can someday go stand in front of my dad's grave and say, Dad, we did it.
00:04:42.000 We got it done.
00:04:42.880 So we're out here.
00:04:44.180 There's already out of highway.
00:04:45.840 We don't have enough room.
00:04:47.800 There are so many people here.
00:04:49.880 What brought you out here today?
00:04:51.480 Well, believe it or not, PJ, your post, when you posted the poster from Al Burton and his wife,
00:05:01.480 that was the very first post I ever saw.
00:05:04.640 So I told John, I told Derek, and boom, that night they had that post up on the live stream.
00:05:12.140 Heck yeah.
00:05:12.720 And this is what happens.
00:05:14.820 The silent majority is speaking.
00:05:16.820 Why do you personally support Alberta independence?
00:05:20.480 Oh.
00:05:21.320 Well, what are the reasons that motivate you to support the cost?
00:05:24.120 Where do I start, PJ?
00:05:25.620 Like, I mean, I want a future for my kids.
00:05:28.480 You know, like the cost of living, number one.
00:05:32.580 So much of my money and my kids' paycheck goes to Ottawa to fund woke BS in the east.
00:05:39.880 And it's just time.
00:05:41.580 Thank you.
00:05:42.080 What's your name again?
00:05:42.920 Evan.
00:05:43.420 Evan.
00:05:43.920 Nice to meet you.
00:05:44.920 Honda.
00:05:45.920 Ma'am.
00:05:46.920 You're Honda?
00:05:47.920 I am.
00:05:48.920 No freaking way.
00:05:49.920 Give me a hug, man.
00:05:50.920 Thank you so much for your support, brother.
00:05:52.920 I appreciate you.
00:05:53.920 Thank you so much.
00:05:54.920 You're welcome, PJ.
00:05:55.920 We got nicknames in there.
00:05:58.080 So I have no idea.
00:06:00.420 You should have let me know, my man.
00:06:02.080 Well, I think that Albertans need to support Albertans in all industries, in all churches,
00:06:10.980 in all communities, so that we can continue our way of life on Christianity values that
00:06:20.420 our ancestors brought to us here.
00:06:23.920 And what do you make of, like, we're running out of highway, like we don't have enough room
00:06:29.860 on this highway.
00:06:31.420 What do you make of the support?
00:06:32.820 Because the news, all they say is that we're a small French minority, there's not enough
00:06:37.940 of us.
00:06:38.940 Well, what do you make of that?
00:06:40.160 The fact that the numbers, like the amount of people that are here in a winter day, it
00:06:45.120 contradicts totally what they're saying.
00:06:47.220 What do you make of that?
00:06:48.360 I don't want anybody to see the support or to pull down the curtain.
00:06:54.300 So what I was going to say is that our family escaped Hungary and the communist regime in
00:07:01.040 Hungary in 1956.
00:07:02.240 A lot of people died trying to get away into freedom.
00:07:06.920 And we're so thankful that Canada took us in.
00:07:11.060 And what is really sad is that what is happening here in this country is the same thing that
00:07:16.860 was happening in many other countries like Hungary and under communist rule, totalitarianism,
00:07:23.300 et cetera.
00:07:25.020 And if people did a little research, they'd find out that what is being done in governments
00:07:29.400 here in Canada is the same thing that they've done following the Chinese communist playbook
00:07:35.200 of disrupting a country internally.
00:07:37.820 And this is what we're seeing.
00:07:39.140 So anyways, we're so thankful that Canada took us in.
00:07:42.620 We are so sad that it's going in this direction.
00:07:46.280 If a government can bankrupt a country, you know, it hasn't got much of a capacity to lead
00:07:51.460 a country.
00:07:52.580 So I'm so happy though that we have the opportunity just by a ballot and a vote that we can choose
00:07:57.360 to be free again.
00:07:58.900 So that's what we're all here for.
00:08:00.320 And I'm really happy about it.
00:08:01.660 We're hard working people and we want that paycheck to stay with us.
00:08:08.100 Not 40% going to Ottawa.
00:08:10.700 Enough is enough.
00:08:11.700 I mean, I want a future for my kids and myself, same thing.
00:08:17.300 And the future of this, this soon to be Republic of Alberta is going to be bright with the resources
00:08:24.800 and the revenue possibilities are endless.
00:08:28.980 You know that.
00:08:29.980 Oh, heck yeah, time to sign.
00:08:38.300 Say no more.
00:08:39.300 How's it going, my man?
00:08:44.300 Good.
00:08:45.300 Good.
00:08:46.300 It's a lot of people here.
00:08:47.300 Amen.
00:08:48.300 Holy.
00:08:49.300 When I was driving because I'm driving from north, I saw the Edmonton convoy and there
00:08:58.620 were like, I saw a few people.
00:09:00.620 I was like, oh man, there's support there, but it's not.
00:09:02.620 It's not, I didn't imagine it was going to be this many people.
00:09:06.560 Like I already can't see the end of the line either way.
00:09:10.260 There's still people coming.
00:09:11.580 So that's, that's great to see.
00:09:13.580 Yeah.
00:09:14.580 That's awesome.
00:09:15.580 According to the CBC, we're just, you know, it's just two or three of us.
00:09:18.580 Two or three people complaining.
00:09:20.900 Very cool outliers.
00:09:21.900 Yeah.
00:09:22.900 Yeah.
00:09:23.900 They're full of it.
00:09:24.900 Like they always are.
00:09:25.900 Oh yeah.
00:09:26.900 Oh, thanks for coming out.
00:09:27.900 Thank you, man.
00:09:28.900 Thank you.
00:09:29.900 I'm glad to be here.
00:09:30.900 So good to see you guys.
00:09:31.900 You got a YouTube channel?
00:09:33.900 Yeah.
00:09:34.900 Yeah, I do.
00:09:35.900 It's called PJ the belt.
00:09:36.900 You're PJ.
00:09:37.900 Yeah.
00:09:38.900 Yeah.
00:09:39.900 You guys, you come in a sign or you've already signed?
00:09:41.900 No, I'm a canvasser.
00:09:42.900 Oh, there you go.
00:09:43.900 Awesome.
00:09:44.900 Awesome.
00:09:45.900 You want to say a couple of words?
00:09:46.900 Sure.
00:09:47.900 So we're out here.
00:09:48.900 There's already more people that I can count and there's a lot of support.
00:09:51.900 What do you say to those who say that we're a small French minority, Alberta independent
00:09:54.900 supporters?
00:09:55.900 Well, I've had nothing but good response as a canvasser.
00:09:58.900 They sent me a list of Excel, an Excel spreadsheet with a list of my neighbours who had signed
00:10:03.900 online saying they wanted to sign the petition and I've been phoning them up and they've been
00:10:06.900 coming over to my house or we meet at the local pub or I go over to their house and they're
00:10:11.900 all excited.
00:10:12.900 They're just normal folks like us and they just want to change.
00:10:17.900 I think there's a big groundswell.
00:10:20.900 And I've seen nothing but happy, normal, regular folks who want to sign up and make this province
00:10:25.900 a place that we can enjoy living again.
00:10:28.900 So that's why I'm here.
00:10:31.900 On that note, what is it that motivates you personally to support the cause for Alberta independence?
00:10:37.900 Well, I've seen again as I was a paramedic in this province for 40 years and I've seen it get worse.
00:10:44.900 Health care, education.
00:10:46.900 It's filled with things that we don't believe in.
00:10:48.900 The DEI, the taxation, it's out of control and it's misguided and we need to fix that.
00:10:57.900 And we're certainly in a position here where we can not only fix it but become an example for the rest of the country.
00:11:03.900 And this is where it starts, right here on the ground, friends and neighbours.
00:11:08.900 So I'm thrilled to be part of the show.
00:11:11.900 That's a big boy.
00:11:13.900 Hey buddy, how are you doing?
00:11:18.900 How's it going?
00:11:21.900 Huh?
00:11:22.900 Who's the gentleman in the mask?
00:11:23.900 I have no idea but that's a badass mask.
00:11:26.900 It looks pretty good.
00:11:28.900 I've got to get me one of those.
00:11:30.900 I'm trying to figure out who's interviewing me.
00:11:34.900 I can't see his face.
00:11:35.900 Oh, so you got interviewed?
00:11:36.900 Yeah.
00:11:37.900 Well, he looks like he's for the cause.
00:11:40.900 I mean, he's covered in the Alberta flag.
00:11:42.900 I mean, you can never assume but I, you know, I take that chance, you know?
00:11:48.900 There's so many people already.
00:11:50.900 Wow.
00:11:51.900 I'm from Red Deer and one of our crew went to see the Forever Canada people today.
00:11:55.900 There were eight of them.
00:11:57.900 Sorry.
00:11:58.900 Look, and they had favorable conditions.
00:12:01.900 You got to remember these people were canvassing in the middle of summer.
00:12:05.900 Yeah.
00:12:06.900 I know.
00:12:07.900 They were canvassing in the summer.
00:12:08.900 They did not see the numbers.
00:12:09.900 Eight people in Red Deer for the Forever Canada people.
00:12:12.900 And we've got, oh, I don't know, many, many.
00:12:14.900 And you never saw the town halls either.
00:12:16.900 Like you never saw the level of enthusiasm.
00:12:19.900 Like the long lines.
00:12:21.900 And it's in winter too.
00:12:22.900 Like I didn't expect Edmonton, Rundle Park to make the statement that it made.
00:12:27.900 I don't know if you guys remember the long lines.
00:12:29.900 That's awesome people.
00:12:30.900 It was so crazy.
00:12:31.900 I was doing it live.
00:12:32.900 I don't know if you watched.
00:12:33.900 And I'm like, man.
00:12:34.900 And I saw this lady with her walker, this lady sitting.
00:12:38.900 And I was like, whoa, this is inspiring as heck.
00:12:41.900 Like.
00:12:42.900 I saw a lady in Festival Hall.
00:12:44.900 She'd lined up.
00:12:45.900 She came to the table.
00:12:46.900 She'd lined up for an hour and a half.
00:12:48.900 And I said, are you okay?
00:12:50.900 Because you look really cold.
00:12:51.900 She goes, yeah, I'm really cold, but it was well worth it.
00:12:54.900 Incredible.
00:12:55.900 And it was like, oh, you sweetheart.
00:12:56.900 She was about 80, maybe more.
00:12:58.900 I saw a lady like that in Two Hills.
00:13:00.900 And she said, it's for my grandkids.
00:13:02.900 I just, at this point, it's my grandkids.
00:13:04.900 Because I know that I may not live to see it.
00:13:07.900 But I want my grandchildren to have the life I had.
00:13:10.900 Like I had a good life.
00:13:12.900 And it's going away in Canada, right?
00:13:14.900 So yeah, the hands are the weak spot for me, man.
00:13:18.900 Like I can probably walk with flip flops.
00:13:21.900 The feet are fine.
00:13:22.900 It's the hands.
00:13:23.900 I remember you and the Mrs.
00:13:24.900 Walking in the Rundle.
00:13:26.900 And the ice.
00:13:27.900 And you were like going in the snow.
00:13:29.900 It was slick, man.
00:13:30.900 Like, but I managed.
00:13:31.900 I managed.
00:13:32.900 And I was, I was super inspired to see the numbers that came out in Edmonton.
00:13:35.900 You got to remember, Edmonton is NDP, supposedly NDP territory.
00:13:41.900 So when we have thousands of people showing up last minute too, because it wasn't like
00:13:46.900 they announced it.
00:13:47.900 No.
00:13:48.900 That long, that much.
00:13:49.900 And actually last night on their Facebook, last night on their Facebook feed from Edmonton,
00:13:56.900 it actually showed that it was the location spot was canceled.
00:14:00.900 Yeah.
00:14:01.900 You mean like a pop-up spot or?
00:14:03.900 No, the meet point.
00:14:04.900 Oh.
00:14:05.900 So we're, everybody was supposed to meet at Bonnie Dune Mall.
00:14:08.900 Oh, Bonnie Dune.
00:14:09.900 Yeah.
00:14:10.900 But last night it showed that that location spot was canceled.
00:14:12.900 Oh.
00:14:13.900 And then my wife, my wife reached out and then they had changed it back to the Bonnie Dune location.
00:14:19.900 Oh, you know, a lot of shenanigans are happening with the, with the other side, right?
00:14:23.900 Of course.
00:14:24.900 Like they're calling places and trying to sabotage everything.
00:14:26.900 Absolutely.
00:14:27.900 So.
00:14:28.900 And they will, and we just need to let them do it.
00:14:30.900 We'll try, let them, we just keep, we keep working, right?
00:14:33.900 We keep pushing.
00:14:34.900 Absolutely.
00:14:35.900 Check it out.
00:14:38.900 Check it out.
00:14:41.900 Holy smokes, man.
00:14:44.900 That's a lot of flags.
00:14:47.900 That's a lot of flags, man.
00:14:50.900 Awesome.
00:14:51.900 Heck yeah.
00:14:52.900 There we go.
00:14:53.900 The other one in the truck.
00:14:54.900 Oh, here we go.
00:14:55.900 Oh, what a beautiful pup.
00:14:56.900 Hello.
00:14:57.900 Hello.
00:14:58.900 How you all doing?
00:14:59.900 Good to see you guys here.
00:15:00.900 Same.
00:15:01.900 Got a, got a lot of people.
00:15:02.900 Can't see the end of the line, eh?
00:15:03.900 Already, already need a bigger highway.
00:15:05.900 Yep.
00:15:06.900 Wow.
00:15:07.900 Hi there, man.
00:15:08.900 Let me shake your hand.
00:15:09.900 It's so nice to meet you.
00:15:10.900 It's so nice to meet you.
00:15:11.900 How you doing?
00:15:12.900 So good to see you.
00:15:13.900 Oh my goodness.
00:15:14.900 This is not incredible.
00:15:15.900 This is incredible.
00:15:16.900 I don't think anybody expected this amount of people to be out here.
00:15:19.900 It's, it's, it's already unbelievable.
00:15:20.900 The level of support.
00:15:21.900 I, I keep saying it over and over.
00:15:22.900 I, I normally get, um, surprised by the amount of support that comes out.
00:15:24.900 Cause we got to remember it's called this heck out here.
00:15:25.900 So you don't think you're going to see this many people braving it.
00:15:27.900 Right.
00:15:28.900 But they're draw here.
00:15:29.900 We're going to, you know, we're going to show us.
00:15:30.900 Okay.
00:15:31.900 Here we go.
00:15:32.900 Oh, let me shake your hand.
00:15:33.900 Let me shake your hand.
00:15:34.900 It's so nice to me.
00:15:35.900 How you doing?
00:15:36.900 So good to see you.
00:15:37.900 Oh my goodness.
00:15:38.900 This is not incredible.
00:15:39.900 This is incredible.
00:15:40.900 I don't think anybody expected this amount of people to be out here.
00:15:41.900 It's, it's already unbelievable.
00:15:42.900 The level of support.
00:15:43.900 I, I keep saying it over and over.
00:15:44.900 I, I normally get, um, surprised by the amount of support that comes out.
00:15:47.900 Cause we got to remember it's cold as heck out here.
00:15:49.900 So you don't think you're going to see this many people braving it, right?
00:15:53.520 But you're all here.
00:15:55.180 You're all here.
00:15:55.980 And this is what they cannot lie about because the numbers are just, it's obvious.
00:16:01.980 Exactly.
00:16:02.540 When I take video and I was looking in some of the vehicles and they're, you know, independent Alberta, free and all this.
00:16:08.540 And I was like, man, I saw you and I was like, oh my God, I watch you all the time.
00:16:12.620 It's so exciting.
00:16:13.260 Well, this will make a video sometime the coming week.
00:16:17.680 That's funny.
00:16:18.440 Yes, yes, it is.
00:16:20.320 You know what?
00:16:20.920 If you, if you want to be blurred, I can blur it too.
00:16:23.340 No.
00:16:23.840 You're okay?
00:16:24.600 You're fine.
00:16:25.360 Okay.
00:16:26.040 I just didn't know.
00:16:26.920 I thought you were just holding your camera.
00:16:28.380 The whole time I'm doing it because I want to document everything as it happens, like as, as it goes, like just, yeah.
00:16:35.400 Well, I know I left a couple comments on your station just, just saying I signed up to be a camister and now I'm going to start doing the phone calls.
00:16:42.460 That's awesome.
00:16:43.180 And I'm so excited because we need all the people that we can get.
00:16:46.260 Everyone.
00:16:46.860 And we're, we're already, uh, last Mitch said we had 7,500, uh, canvassers, 7,500.
00:16:53.240 So that's, it's, we're not halfway there, uh, like halfway through the process and we're three quarters of the way to 10,000 canvassers.
00:17:01.560 So it's absolutely incredible.
00:17:04.460 This movement is growing by the day.
00:17:07.500 It's like, at what point do we like say enough is enough?
00:17:11.520 Like, that's my thing.
00:17:12.460 Like, I understand the loyalty to a Canada that used to be, but at what point do we say enough is enough?
00:17:18.040 Albert's been abused enough.
00:17:20.060 Uh, we've been taken advantage of enough, you know, and things are not the same.
00:17:25.180 They're just not, it's no longer the Canada that used to be right.
00:17:28.500 No, it's not.
00:17:29.500 And for me, I look at my kids and my grandkids, what are they walking into now?
00:17:36.340 They want to hire, and it may have been on your channel that I just saw it just maybe yesterday or even this morning.
00:17:42.780 And you had, somebody had posted how they're now bringing on these, the soldiers.
00:17:48.520 And the, I think it was you because they said it's going to be mostly Chinese and Indian.
00:17:53.700 And I was like, how much worse?
00:17:58.680 It's not good.
00:17:59.720 It's heartbreaking because my kids both know, I have three of them.
00:18:05.860 One, I'm not sure if she follows the other two.
00:18:08.240 I keep them informed because this younger generation, although there are a lot of people that are involved in this,
00:18:16.080 they need to know because it's their futures they're going to be impacted.
00:18:20.120 And surprisingly enough, the youth between, I think, 18 and 35 are the ones that are polling, according to a recent poll,
00:18:28.540 the highest in support of Alberta independence.
00:18:31.600 That's awesome news.
00:18:32.640 You may not see them because they're, you know, they're doing whatever they do.
00:18:36.220 But when they responded, according to a poll, they're the highest level of support.
00:18:41.320 That's a nice flag.
00:18:43.400 Thank you.
00:18:43.780 That's a beautiful flag, man.
00:18:45.100 How's it going, sir?
00:18:45.980 Good to see you guys.
00:19:02.640 There's Donny B's set up right there.
00:19:09.720 Donny B's truck right here.
00:19:11.640 The one that pulled up in Edmonton International Airport, letting people know they better bring a passport next time they come to Alberta.
00:19:19.020 We're here at the Alberta-Edmonton International Airport to alert all the new newcomers that this is the last time you'll be able to enter Alberta without an Alberta passport.
00:19:33.500 And we've got an early bird seal going on Alberta passports.
00:19:37.540 Donny B, tell me about this convoy we have here today, February 21st.
00:19:41.540 What a thing of beauty, eh?
00:19:43.700 Well, it's the most beautiful convergence you can ever think of.
00:19:48.900 People coming from Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary.
00:19:53.580 And we had people meeting us along the highway and joining in from all over.
00:19:58.080 It's a thing of beauty, boy.
00:19:59.620 And I tell you, this is just the start.
00:20:02.460 This is going to get cooking like nobody's business, right?
00:20:05.660 This is the tip of the iceberg.
00:20:08.060 Thank you.
00:20:08.480 All right.
00:20:08.800 There's no place, boy.
00:20:10.500 All right.
00:20:10.940 That's our people right there, the truckers.
00:20:13.220 I had to laugh while we were driving here.
00:20:15.120 We all started cheering.
00:20:16.000 We saw a trader with a big divorce sign.
00:20:20.340 Divorce.ca.
00:20:21.480 And we're laughing.
00:20:22.020 Yeah, that's what we want.
00:20:23.480 That's what we're looking for.
00:20:24.700 We want a divorce.
00:20:25.260 That's it.
00:20:26.280 We don't have to advertise it to us.
00:20:28.040 We're locked in with that, with Divorce.ca.
00:20:30.560 And then somebody was calling us when we were here saying we're a trader.
00:20:34.560 I go, well, you know what?
00:20:36.100 I don't remember getting called a trader when I left my family.
00:20:39.580 I was going circling self-determination and to be better with myself.
00:20:43.620 Independent, right?
00:20:44.520 Look at Don.
00:20:45.500 He's going in the pen and now, you know, renting his own place, getting a job.
00:20:49.560 But these people are now, it's all backwards to them.
00:20:53.080 And I left home with love for my family.
00:20:55.960 Just like I'll have love for my fellow Canadians as well.
00:20:58.860 Still.
00:20:59.080 That's going to continue just like no difference, right?
00:21:01.640 Yeah.
00:21:01.820 But we're just going to go our own way.
00:21:05.160 And you know what?
00:21:06.760 I hung my flag down, my banner down in the parliament buildings there.
00:21:11.540 And I got video, a TikTok video I did there.
00:21:14.780 I've used it.
00:21:15.620 I've used it a million times.
00:21:17.520 And like there's people all that were passing by and saying, we love what you guys are doing in Alberta.
00:21:22.560 And if you're successful, of course we are, we're going to come and move there with our family.
00:21:28.140 So that's beautiful.
00:21:29.520 Yeah.
00:21:29.720 A lot of people are saying, especially in the NDP, that we would see an outflow of people.
00:21:34.400 Like most of Alberta, like we would lose people.
00:21:36.800 But then you have a bunch of people saying they would love to move here.
00:21:39.240 Well, you know what they say, garbage in, garbage out.
00:21:42.180 And then the quality, you know, gets drawn to the light, right?
00:21:46.760 So all the good will be attracted to the light.
00:21:50.120 That's right.
00:21:50.540 And maybe we'll lose a little garbage along the way.
00:21:53.680 But that may not be a bad thing.
00:21:56.340 What do you guys think about Alberta leaving Canada?
00:22:01.400 Got any thoughts on that?
00:22:02.620 I'll be okay.
00:22:03.460 And I'd move to Alberta.
00:22:04.880 All right.
00:22:05.800 That's what we want to hear, buddy.
00:22:07.240 Right on.
00:22:07.820 Thank you very much.
00:22:08.860 Well, thank you.
00:22:09.900 We're going to pave the way to freedom.
00:22:13.480 But you know what?
00:22:14.520 That's not something I want to talk about here today.
00:22:16.540 No.
00:22:16.940 We're going to talk about all the great things that are going to happen.
00:22:19.400 Positive, positive.
00:22:20.080 And yeah, keeping it positive.
00:22:22.120 So we're going to the Crosswind Church.
00:22:23.760 And I guess we're going to let our freak flag fly.
00:22:27.120 Nice.
00:22:28.060 Show the country we mean business.
00:22:30.700 One more question for you, Donnie.
00:22:32.420 Because I see you.
00:22:33.600 You support Alberta Independence from the very beginning.
00:22:36.420 You've been out there with your wife, with your lovely wife.
00:22:38.980 Getting out, getting after it.
00:22:41.000 And getting, there she is.
00:22:41.860 There's that lady.
00:22:42.700 There she is.
00:22:43.720 And you guys are out there all the time.
00:22:45.300 What motivates you and your family personally to support the cost for Alberta Independence?
00:22:50.720 Because you're not getting paid a dime.
00:22:52.500 Quite the opposite.
00:22:53.760 You're investing your own time and money when you could be working.
00:22:56.800 What makes you support this cost so much?
00:22:59.400 What makes it so important to you?
00:23:01.580 I treasure this province.
00:23:03.860 This province helped me.
00:23:06.240 Sorry, I almost want to crack a tear here.
00:23:09.040 But this province enabled me, raised me up to be the person I hoped I could be.
00:23:16.520 There was every ladder, every rung was in the ladder when I came here.
00:23:21.580 It's not like that today.
00:23:24.780 You know, all these young people, all they want is a chance.
00:23:28.120 That's all everybody wants is a chance.
00:23:29.480 Feed their family.
00:23:30.980 Raise their family the way they see fit.
00:23:32.860 And like I say, Alberta was that.
00:23:37.040 I came from Ontario.
00:23:38.060 I had to come all the way to Alberta to meet a girl from Ontario.
00:23:41.160 Right?
00:23:41.520 I mean, but we were drawn to the light.
00:23:45.320 Just like I said, you know, we were drawn to the light.
00:23:47.440 Everybody was booming here.
00:23:49.120 Everybody was ecstatic, happy to be here, wanted to be part of what was happening.
00:23:53.240 And the culture, when they say that Alberta lacks culture, man, oh man, I tell you, culture
00:24:00.160 is me calling you my brother and her and my sister and all of us coming together, like-minded
00:24:05.660 people in the pursuit of happiness.
00:24:08.120 That's right.
00:24:08.820 That's, to me, is what freedom is.
00:24:12.120 And that's what we're trying to build here today.
00:24:14.840 And I'm just excited and honored to be part of it.
00:24:18.240 This is Omar.
00:24:19.460 How are you guys doing?
00:24:20.280 Good to see you, man.
00:24:21.340 Thanks for coming out.
00:24:22.380 Thank you.
00:24:23.240 Yeah, I got a little YouTube channel talking about this.
00:24:32.060 We'll be getting there.
00:24:33.280 We'll be getting there.
00:24:35.000 Yeah, he's got a large American following.
00:24:38.580 Yeah, I got some people there that watch and support Americans, like majority of Americans
00:24:44.220 I've met every time I work in transportation, go to Montana, Idaho, Utah all the time.
00:24:48.700 And they're like, they support Alberta independence.
00:24:51.780 And it's really heartwarming to see, you know, like seeing the support.
00:24:55.360 So honestly, from the very, well, from the, after the federal election, I was going to
00:25:00.600 say from the beginning, that'd be Donnie.
00:25:02.260 After the last federal election, when the conservatives lost, I was, that was the last straw for me.
00:25:07.360 That was the end.
00:25:08.320 I was like, you know what?
00:25:09.280 Alberta can't keep doing this.
00:25:10.780 Our vote doesn't matter.
00:25:11.880 We're in this confederation where we vote for who we vote and it's whatever Quebec and Ontario say that goes.
00:25:20.640 And what's the point when Alberta over contributes more than other provinces?
00:25:25.620 But our voice means nothing.
00:25:27.840 So I've got a little YouTube channel and I support Alberta independence.
00:25:32.440 I started it exactly for that reason.
00:25:34.540 I started it in April of last year after the last federal election when I realized that there's no point anymore being in this confederation for Alberta because our votes just don't matter.
00:25:48.380 Right.
00:25:48.880 Like Albertans voted like 90% conservative and we still managed to get a liberal government, even though Canada has been in decay after 11 years of exactly that, a liberal government.
00:26:00.040 So what do you think liberal policies did change?
00:26:03.840 How do you think they've changed?
00:26:05.160 I can give you some examples.
00:26:06.980 As an immigrant myself, I can talk about this mass immigration as opposed to responsible immigration.
00:26:13.600 That is one of the biggest ones.
00:26:15.220 When I came here, immigration was more of a what do you bring to the table?
00:26:22.060 What can you contribute?
00:26:22.980 Kind of like that proverbial, it's not what your country can do for you.
00:26:25.940 It's what you can do for your country.
00:26:27.520 So when Canada brought immigrants in, it was mostly like, what can you contribute to society and make it make society better?
00:26:35.560 There's obviously the humanitarian angle, how you can help people that actually need help.
00:26:40.800 But today you have mostly people that come here, economic migrants, our health care system suffering, young Canadians, young Albertans can't find work.
00:26:50.520 And that's just not fair.
00:26:52.220 Then you have the economy, inflation out of control.
00:26:55.640 Two million Canadians requiring food banks.
00:26:57.940 What?
00:26:58.200 Ten years ago, that wasn't a reality.
00:27:00.480 Two million every month.
00:27:01.820 And Albertans are a part of that.
00:27:03.780 Two million.
00:27:04.400 So that alone, economically, immigration and culturally, they're destroying our culture.
00:27:13.780 Like Western culture is being attacked every day.
00:27:17.640 They're saying that we're a post-national state.
00:27:19.580 Trudeau said that.
00:27:20.260 Because you're an immigrant, and I find that interesting, you're a person of color as well, how do your parents feel about this?
00:27:28.020 Do they support the movement?
00:27:29.400 Do they feel differently?
00:27:30.900 You know, that's always an interesting question because people sometimes assume that, like, how can you support Alberta independence if you're a black man?
00:27:38.720 Because Alberta independence is not about race.
00:27:41.700 Western culture has never been about race.
00:27:44.860 There are black men that are Western as heck with a cowboy hat.
00:27:47.980 Men of every color, women of every color, people of every creed, religion.
00:27:53.300 It's about self-determination.
00:27:55.920 It's about Alberta determining its own future because within confederation, we just can't.
00:28:00.860 And there's evidence for this.
00:28:02.640 If you look into the Alberta independence movement, it didn't start a year ago.
00:28:06.780 It started way back in the 80s, and it's just now boiled over.
00:28:11.360 But it's not about race.
