Summary

A new poll suggests that more than half of Canadians understand why Alberta might want to break away from Canada, and that a referendum will be held on the matter in the fall of 2026. What does that mean for the future of the province, and what will it mean for Canada?

00:00:00.000 He's referring to a new Leger poll, which suggests more than half of Canadians understand
00:00:04.580 why Alberta might want independence. Leger's Andrew Enns says it suggests there may be some
00:00:10.100 empathy for separatist's plight. I think we've been down this path enough and we've made the
00:00:15.240 decision it's time to leave. What is the message you're sending to Ottawa? We've had enough. We've
00:00:19.780 had enough with the structure that keeps Alberta down, prevents us from changing things to chart
00:00:24.600 our own course into the future. We're done with it.
00:00:30.000 Yeah. Well, I think it's clear though the United States is prepared to recognize an independent
00:00:38.200 Alberta and would entertain Alberta then deciding if the people so chose to become the 51st state
00:00:45.420 because the American Revolution might not have succeeded had they not achieved foreign recognition
00:00:51.640 from France, for instance. You know, we see ourselves as an independence movement wanting
00:00:57.780 to form an independent Commonwealth, separate and apart from Canada and the United States,
00:01:03.020 but with extremely strong financial and economic ties to the United States because we see the U.S.
00:01:08.920 as our natural ally, you know, unlike Mark Carney, who sees communist China as his natural ally.
00:01:16.340 You see, and that's the thing. They're not even pretending anymore. The liberal left in Canada
00:01:22.040 has been cussing up to China for years. It started with the drama teacher himself,
00:01:27.400 Justin Trudeau, and now it's carried forward by Mark Carney. And really, there's no shocker there
00:01:33.900 because Carney was Trudeau's advisor for years before deciding he would finish what Justin started
00:01:39.880 and run Canada right into the ground. And the sad part? Most of Canada seems to be marching to that
00:01:46.180 exact same tune. Surveys are showing rising favorability towards China. Yes, China. While
00:01:54.440 the mainstream media's propaganda machine has many Canadians pointing their anger south at the United
00:02:00.020 States. But not in Alberta. Albertans see right through it. They know exactly who's responsible for
00:02:07.100 Canada's mess. The liberal government. Not Trump. Not the United States. And they continue to see
00:02:14.460 America as their real ally. That's the difference here. In the past, I've said that this is Alberta's
00:02:22.340 chance, if you like, to save Western civilization. Like Western civilization is in decline.
00:02:28.900 And if Alberta wants to be free, it can, if it has the wherewithal, to establish itself as the example
00:02:42.200 of the way Western civilization is supposed to work. That is not Canada right now. So in order to make
00:02:48.960 yourself that, you have to break away from the Canada that is inside and outside.
00:02:53.580 The State Department had a meeting, a second high-level meeting in Washington, I think on Monday. And our
00:03:01.160 administration is eager to recognize Alberta as an independent state or country. Can you give me any
00:03:08.280 insight on what is happening on this side of the border? And what does that mean with our relationship
00:03:14.620 with the nutjob parts of Canada? Well, sure I can. I received a briefing from that delegation
00:03:19.700 yesterday. You know, I think the Trump administration is very concerned about what's happening in Canada.
00:03:25.360 My understanding from the meetings that have occurred that the Trump administration officials have
00:03:30.920 indicated that the U.S. would recognize a vote by the people of Alberta to become independent. So
00:03:37.180 that's very important to us as we go into, we expect the vote to occur in 2026 sometime around this time
00:03:43.820 next year. Now, here's the hard truth. Canada is broken. And this isn't just rhetoric. No amount of
00:03:50.880 tinkering or patchwork is going to fix it. That's why Alberta has the opportunity right now to walk away
00:03:57.900 from the disaster Canada has become and actually built something better. A nation founded on the
00:04:03.960 principles that built Western civilization in the first place. God, freedom, hard work, limited
00:04:11.160 government. The further Alberta gets from the rotten, corrupt system that Ottawa has become,
00:04:17.840 the better. Because that system doesn't want to be fixed. It will fight tooth and nail against anyone
00:04:24.260 who tries to fix it. Albertans are realizing there's no point in trying to repair Canada.
00:04:30.460 The best chance that a strong, prosperous future is to separate completely and do it as soon as possible.
00:04:37.320 The courts currently initiated a process here where they will be reviewing and authenticating the legal validity
00:04:44.240 of the question. It's causing a delay in the process of securing the petition and securing the vote. It'll probably
00:04:51.540 extend either into December of this year or perhaps January of 2026. I'm confident that the court will
00:04:59.580 rule the obvious, which is there's nothing wrong with the question. It's a valid question. And then
00:05:04.000 that will clear the way for the 120 days of signatures, which will then obligate the Alberta government,
00:05:10.340 the Daniel Smith government, to hold a province-wide referendum on Alberta independence,
00:05:14.980 I anticipate in the fall of 2026. And the other advantage of, you know, some people were concerned
00:05:20.920 feeling this court thing's a setback. I don't think so. I think it gives legitimacy to the process. It'll avoid
00:05:26.580 legal challenges down the road. And it also gives us more time. Because, you know, there's a third of Albertans that
00:05:32.120 are absolutely committed to independence. And then there's a third of Albertans who, they're never going to support
00:05:37.980 independence. And it's the middle third that's so critical. And this time that while the court's reviewing it, it'll give it
00:05:42.980 opportunity for the Alberta Prosperity Project and a number of other groups, independence groups,
00:05:47.540 there's multiple independence groups in the province that are active. It'll give them an opportunity to
00:05:51.860 go to ground, to reach out, to engage with that middle third, so that hopefully by the time we get
00:05:57.620 to a question, a true referendum question in the fall of 2026, will be well over the clear majority of
00:06:05.620 Albertans voting yes, which is the standard set by the Supreme Court of Canada in the 1998 reference case.
00:06:11.060 Well, right now the referendum question of Alberta independence is tied up in the courts.
00:06:16.500 The question is expected to go before a judge in November. In the meantime, organizations and
00:06:22.740 grassroots movements are hard at work, continuing to educate Albertans about what independence could
00:06:28.420 actually mean. The courts will likely have no reason to block it. There's nothing unconstitutional
00:06:35.140 about asking the people a question. And that means all eyes are on 2026. That year could be one of the
00:06:41.940 most important in Alberta's history. And it can't come fast enough. Because while Alberta is preparing
00:06:48.260 for its future, Canada keeps sinking deeper into debt and destruction. Just today, the parliamentary
00:06:55.860 budget officer sounded the alarm. Canada's debt is skyrocketing, while GDP growth is completely tanking. Watch.
00:07:04.100 The public debt charges is $53.6 billion. And that projection is going to increase in 2030 to $82.4 billion.
00:07:15.940 Is that sustainable? Every dollar spent on debt is a dollar that is not spent elsewhere. Again, how alarming
00:07:25.060 is that for the average Canadian for the taxpayer? Because there is only one taxpayer, right?
00:07:29.060 It should be very alarming, right? These are, I don't know, I think I used the words in French,
00:07:36.260 and which the translators probably got really well, like, stupefying, shocking, right? This is not,
00:07:44.500 it's a really serious fiscal outlook. It's, and we don't lightly use the word unsustainable,
00:07:50.820 right? Unsustainable means you don't have the option of saying, maybe I'll wait a couple of years,
00:08:00.020 I'll see how things go. It means if you don't change, this is done.
