reports that U.S. officials have held talks with groups in favor of an independent province of
00:00:06.000
Alberta, basically breaking away from Canada. Alberta is a province in western Canada about
00:00:11.980
the size of Texas. It has rich oil deposits and it accounts for about 84 percent of Canada's
00:00:18.700
crude oil production. Carney's comments come as separatist groups in Alberta ramp up efforts to
00:00:25.680
force a provincial referendum on leaving Canada. That's a move that has reignited a political trio
00:00:33.660
of tensions between the national government, the conservative leadership in Alberta, and the United States.
00:00:55.680
You see, gas prices will probably look a lot more like those ones.
00:01:25.140
In an independent Alberta. I really hope that they sell gas per gallon as opposed to per liter
00:01:33.120
in an independent Alberta. Hey everybody, it's PJ. I figured I'd make a video giving you guys an update
00:01:39.940
on the Alberta independence front. I'm on the road. I'm just down here in Haver, Montana.
00:01:47.460
I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing it right. I pronounce it Haver.
00:01:49.920
Anyways, I'm out here in Montana. Every time I come to this small town or city, I think it's a city,
00:01:57.800
Haver. Population of like 10,000 or something like that. Every time I'm out here in Montana, I realize
00:02:03.620
how much this place is like Alberta. It's incredible. There's like two or three states
00:02:11.980
that remind me a lot. Like if you just drop me here and I didn't see the signs that showing miles,
00:02:19.700
I didn't see that gas station right behind me showing gallons and way cheaper gas, you know,
00:02:27.460
paying weightless taxes when I go to the grocery store or anywhere. I wouldn't know that I am not
00:02:33.540
in Alberta, right? So that brings me to the fact that in an independent Alberta, things could be like
00:02:41.400
here, possibly equal or better because Montana is Alberta with a lot less taxes, real freedom of speech,
00:02:51.740
constitutionally protected, real freedom of speech, a second amendment to protect yourself,
00:02:57.120
the ability to protect yourself and your family, unencumbered by federal liberal policies that tell
00:03:05.580
you it's a privilege for you to be able to protect yourself. That is not the case out here. A lot less
00:03:12.400
taxes, way less taxes. Alberta is the lowest taxed jurisdiction in Canada because it's Alberta. Albertans
00:03:23.560
don't like taxes, yet it's still significantly more taxed than Montana is. And so I wanted to give you
00:03:32.720
guys an update on the Alberta independence front. There has been so much about Alberta on the news.
00:03:40.220
They're paying attention now. They tried to ignore this movement for the longest time.
00:03:44.580
I remember that when I started reporting on this back in April, May, right after the federal election,
00:03:50.680
nobody wanted to pick it up unless to talk badly about it. And the majority of the news that we're
00:04:00.240
talking about, we're talking negatively about it, except for people like myself, podcasters and
00:04:05.440
independent media like the Western Standard and maybe Rebel News. But other than that, the mainstream
00:04:10.760
media tried their best to ignore it. But now we just got too big to ignore. And since Thursday or
00:04:17.260
Wednesday night, they've been talking about Alberta separation, Alberta independence non-stop
00:04:21.760
because they can't help it. It just got way too big to ignore, right? And hopefully too big to
00:04:26.660
rig. You have a premier, David Eby of British Columbia, calling Alberta patriots traitors and
00:04:32.920
accusing us of treason because we want to make Alberta an independent country. And you have Alberta
00:04:38.860
independence leaders like Jeffrey Rath reminding him that we don't give a damn what he thinks or what
00:04:43.700
he says. And that actually, every time he talks and insults Alberta patriots, we'll get a lot more
00:04:50.080
signatures. Check out this clip. Childish, ridiculous, silly, unbecoming a premier of a province.
00:04:59.260
You know, I mean, it's just, you know, it's just dumb. But I mean, we're happy that he does it. I mean,
00:05:02.800
honest to God, like, you know, he's gonna make it, get another hundred thousand Albertans to go sign our
00:05:07.760
position. So if there's one thing I'm getting from you, you see it as positive publicity for, uh, for the
00:05:15.780
separatist movement. Well, every time these idiots open their mouths, the backlash in Alberta, like, is
00:05:22.400
through the ceiling. Like, you know, Eby can't even come up with an original insult, right? Jason Kenney made
00:05:28.480
front page news, uh, you know, six or seven months ago by calling me a treasonous kook, right? And the result of that
00:05:35.000
was literally tens of thousands of comments, uh, directed against Mr. Kenney, um, you know, telling
00:05:41.940
them that we fired him once. We don't need to hear from him. And it made it absolutely clear that a
00:05:47.420
non-politician like me, um, has more political support in Alberta than a former premier of Alberta
00:05:54.320
because people are sick and tired of federalists coming here and telling us what to do.
00:05:59.440
Fact of the matter is we're getting a lot more attention. Alberta independence is not only making
00:06:04.560
local news in Alberta anymore. It's making national news pretty much every, every day. They're talking
00:06:10.540
about it negatively, but they're talking about it. They can't ignore it, but it's also making
00:06:15.100
international news. Not only are they picking it up in the United States where they're very
00:06:19.800
interested in what's going on, especially after finding out that the Trump administration
00:06:23.780
officially supports Alberta independence, as per Scott Besant, uh, the secretary of treasury,
00:06:29.460
president Trump himself has hinted multiple times, but also internationally. You got
00:06:34.360
international news talking about Alberta and how Alberta has always been kind of an outlier in
00:06:39.600
Canada in the sense that it doesn't fit with the rest of Canada, maybe except Saskatchewan,
00:06:43.900
I would say personally, but for the most part, Alberta is different. Alberta is more like the
00:06:47.880
United States as opposed to more like States like here, right here, Montana, Texas, and the
00:06:53.400
international news are even talking about it. Watch this clip.
00:06:56.300
Alberta's always been a bit of an outlier. You described it, uh, earlier as, uh, the size of Texas,
00:07:02.440
but the attitude is also very much like Texas. Um, very rich in oil reserves, a lot of cattle ranches,
00:07:09.820
forestry. Um, it's also a spectacularly beautiful province, but they've always felt as, uh, they've always
00:07:16.260
had some grievances against the, the federal government. They felt taxes are too high. Um, they want to
00:07:22.380
produce oil and, and reap the rewards of that to, to, to, to, to the fullest extent that that's
00:07:29.440
possible. So they, they, they, they, they chafe against any climate change policies that may come
00:07:35.320
from the federal government. They want to go it alone. And so when, when the rhetoric around the
00:07:40.260
51st state, or even now this movement about establishing Alberta as its own country, um, there
00:07:46.920
seems to be more, a bit more momentum for, for that, uh, right now.
00:07:50.720
Another thing they try to do this week is that they try to get our premier, Daniel Smith, to attack
00:07:55.700
Alberta independence, attack Alberta patriots, saying that she should condemn it, but she didn't
00:08:01.640
listen to that. She didn't condemn anything. Some people say it's because she knows that majority of
00:08:05.560
her support comes from Alberta independence, come from patriots that support Alberta independence,
00:08:10.620
and she doesn't want to mess that up. Other people say it's because she supports it. She just
00:08:14.420
can't come out and say it because she swore an oath to the crown, be that as it may. What I know for a
00:08:19.380
fact is that she hasn't condemned it. She hasn't really gone out of her way to attack it. Like
00:08:25.200
they're pressuring her to do. So again, be that as it may, she's not, you know, she's doing certain
00:08:31.880
things that are allowing the movement to grow into what it's growing. And the momentum is palpable.
00:08:38.100
Separatist leader, Jeff Wrath claims some UCP MLAs have already signed the petition for an
00:08:43.980
independence vote, but he won't name names citing privacy rules. Wrath offered City News his
00:08:50.980
explanation for why Smith won't criticize separatists. He says the premier won her
00:08:56.580
leadership race because of their support. We all knew what was going on. Everybody that
00:09:02.140
was voting for Daniel for leader were separatists. So her base, you know, her base are in favor of
00:09:07.140
independence. So what's she going to do? She's going to denounce all of her supporters.
00:09:11.060
That's not a very clever political move, right? Anyways, I wanted to give you guys that update,
00:09:17.140
let you guys know what's going on. I'm out on the road. So I want to always be able to
00:09:21.740
make a video in the studio, but I will always keep you guys informed from Alberta. And sometimes when
00:09:27.680
I'm on the road, I'll still keep you informed from Big Sky Country, Montana. It's been PJ. I'll see
00:09:33.980
you guys in the next one. Well, thank you for watching. If you want to continue to get updates
