00:00:00.000 So if you're a gun owner in Mark Carney's Canada, like myself, you have probably received this lovely email this week reminding you that the liberal government wants you to register your legally obtained firearms.
00:00:14.180 The government wants you to declare all of your guns in order to proceed with their draconian confiscation program, an initiative they said was supposed to be voluntary.
00:00:24.620 But I'll pick up one word there, confiscation. This is not about confiscation. This is about voluntary return of firearms for compensation, for confiscation.
00:00:35.600 That was only three or four months ago. He said it was voluntary, but instead they're now threatening jail time for those who refuse to comply.
00:00:44.560 Despite the government calling it voluntary on the tech briefing for journalists, the bureaucrats made it very clear this is not voluntary.
00:00:52.260 You will either hand over your gun to the government, you will have it destroyed on your own dime, or you will face criminal charges.
00:00:59.740 You will be in violation of the law. There's no voluntary aspect of like, you know, I just don't feel like participating.
00:01:07.520 You have to participate in one of the ways or face up to 10 years in jail.
00:01:12.580 So if you're a gun owner in Canada, stick around because you're going to want to hear what the government of Canada just did and the growing list of rifles that this authoritarian program is going after.
00:01:24.280 This is a list of what do we have here? 2,585, not individual firearms, but types of firearms.
00:01:33.460 So you can imagine how many firearms the government of Canada is going after.
00:01:39.200 And if you read carefully, the terminology is very interesting.
00:01:45.140 And I'm not a lawyer, but I worked with a lot of lawyers and it's very strange to me.
00:01:49.600 These firearms have been, you can read here, prohibited under the criminal code since May of 2020, December 2024, March 2025.
00:01:59.160 So at different times, they've added to this list.
00:02:02.640 Now, if you happen to own these firearms, obviously you purchase them with after-tax money lawfully before May 2020.
00:02:10.140 And then you're told that the firearms are no longer okay to own.
00:02:14.480 So you can't take them from your home anywhere.
00:02:17.820 They're prohibited.
00:02:18.940 But they didn't prohibit the firearms and then pay you for the firearms.
00:02:22.800 Not that that whole thing makes any sense, but if you're dealing with a country that sort of has abandoned democratic principles and is now just arbitrarily taking away firearms because they just decided to, you would think at least they would compensate you.
00:02:38.740 But these people who own these firearms have had essentially no firearms that they could use legally of this kind, according to the definitions in law.
00:02:48.380 And they also don't have any money.
00:02:50.600 So it's 2026 and this compensation program is just starting.
00:02:54.640 One of the principles that seems to appear in the documents is anything that looks like an assault rifle, irrespective of what the firearm is capable of doing, is a prohibited weapon.
00:03:07.720 Translation.
00:03:08.360 They're going after your legally obtained firearms based on their looks, not because they're any more dangerous than those that are not banned, which tells you everything you need to know about the motivation behind this program.
00:03:21.140 It is nothing more than pandering to the radical left and the anti-gun lobby.
00:03:26.140 It's about disarming you while criminals continue to commit crimes.
00:03:30.540 It was never about actual public safety.
00:03:33.460 And some of the features, you know, from other countries with other laws, they don't like pistol grips.
00:03:39.840 And if it happens to look like this, even if it's a 22 and one of the first firearms, I think, on this board is a Mossberg Plankster.
00:03:49.900 You can see the compensation amount is $190.
00:03:53.280 So, you know, it's not a high priced firearm.
00:03:55.820 So why would a Mossberg Plankster in 22 be a prohibited assault style firearm?
00:04:02.040 So assault style, the Ruger No. 1 is included on that list.
00:04:06.960 So in case you're showing this video to somebody, I can't imagine a less innocuous rifle than a falling block.
00:04:14.820 The rate of fire, even if you practice, is pretty slow.
00:04:18.880 Some people may disagree.
00:04:20.520 But essentially, the loading procedure is you lower the falling block, put a round in, and then raise the falling block, and then you can fire.
00:04:30.000 And why do people hunt with single shots?
00:04:32.760 It's precisely because of that limitation in time.
00:04:36.920 Most of the time with game, you have one shot, then something happens or something doesn't happen, and you reload.
00:04:44.660 But this is not an assault rifle.
00:04:47.220 Surely a thinking committee can say that has to be exempted.
00:04:52.040 That is not a BMG semi-automatic .50 caliber.
00:04:56.020 But that didn't happen.
00:04:58.040 So the Ruger No. 1 is on the execution list.
00:05:02.720 And I, yeah, that's bewildering to think about.
00:05:05.600 Other people have talked about this, but when I went through all these papers, I understood what they were saying.
00:05:11.900 And then I took out this shotgun.
00:05:14.040 But all those Parker shotguns and things you're talking about would look something like this.
00:05:19.820 This is a little more modern, it's Spanish, so you have to open the action.
00:05:25.240 These are liners, these are inserts, and then you have to load two shells, and then you have to close the action, and then you fire two shots.
00:05:33.200 These are one of the oldest styles of firearms, and generally used for grouse hunting, duck hunting.
00:05:41.540 Less popular now for waterfowling because there are semi-automatics, but I still prefer a double.
00:05:47.760 But this in certain models, not all models.
00:05:50.720 Again, that's the arbitrary nature of this list.
00:05:53.820 There are 22 semi-autos that in function are identical to the Mossberg Plankster, but they're not assault rifles.
00:06:00.200 There are rifles that exceed the joules or foot-pounds of energy compared to the rifles that are on the list, but they're not prohibited.
00:06:09.180 This is what you would call arbitrary lawmaking based on false assumptions, and I would have to say ignorance.
00:06:18.200 And whoever developed this, I mean, can you imagine?
00:06:21.360 I keep showing this stack because I can't believe that this kept going.
00:06:25.440 But, you know, if you read history, bureaucracies become the ruling entity.
00:06:30.940 Governments come and governments go.
00:06:32.760 But in the end, a lot of people say we're ruled by bureaucracy.
00:06:36.360 And this is an example of an unthinking bureaucracy that's indifferent to, well, the reality of guns and the reality of society, I hope, in Canada, North America, and the free world.
00:06:50.260 The last thing is, if you read here, they say you should abide by the law, and if you don't, you're a criminal.
00:06:58.580 But participation is voluntary, and if you like, you can destroy your guns.
00:07:03.160 This, to me, is one of the strangest ways to word.
00:07:08.020 You'd have to go backwards in time a long ways to have that make sense.
00:07:14.620 Ottawa says its gun buyback program will make Canada safer.
00:07:20.240 These are firearms designed for war, for killing people.
00:07:24.920 They have no place in our communities.
00:07:27.780 Starting Monday, gun owners have until the end of March to apply to surrender or deactivate their banned firearms for cash.
00:07:35.120 Since 2020, Ottawa has reclassified 2,500 guns as illegal.
00:07:39.660 Many on the list are semi-automatic weapons.
00:07:42.000 Handguns are more used, you know, to commit crimes than semi-automatic rifles.
00:07:48.920 A trial last year saw 25 guns collected on Cape Breton Island, when officials expected 200.
00:07:55.540 Ottawa says it learned from that, making registration easier and extending the application window.
00:08:01.500 With almost $250 million set aside, Ottawa believes it can compensate about 136,000 collected firearms.
00:08:09.040 But several provinces are not on board.
00:08:12.280 Both Ontario and Manitoba say they won't give provincial resources to the program.
00:08:17.000 If we're looking at taking away weapons from criminals, from people who are causing violence in our streets, I'm all for that.
00:08:24.580 But this program doesn't look like it's going to achieve that.
00:08:26.900 The buyback program will run everywhere except Saskatchewan and Alberta.
00:08:31.060 Those provinces amended laws to avoid administering the program.
00:08:35.500 Canadians there can still sign up, but there's no guarantee they'll be included.
00:08:39.460 The magazines are in here.
00:08:41.580 Some gun owners say Ottawa is punishing law-abiding citizens.
00:08:45.560 You are taking personal property that they have worked hard to buy and just said to them,
00:08:53.060 you can't have that anymore.
00:08:54.620 Nobody's committing a crime with them.
00:08:56.520 So why do we have to give them up?
00:08:58.080 Well, thank you for watching.
