00:00:00.000 All right, let me move on to Canada, because President Trump issued a stark warning to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney
00:00:05.420 over Canada's new trade deal with China, threatening 100% tariffs on Ottawa if something is signed.
00:00:11.880 So the president writes on Truth Social, if Governor Carney thinks that he's going to make Canada a drop-off port for China
00:00:18.740 to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken.
00:00:22.840 And it's not going to work out well for Canada. They were foolish to do it. 0.99
00:00:26.500 And so I said, we're going to stop all negotiations with Canada right now until they straighten out their act. 0.99
00:00:33.320 And we have all the cards. We will every single one.
00:00:36.560 We don't want to do anything bad, but they have economically.
00:00:40.560 We have such power over Canada.
00:00:44.160 Well, folks, this is it. Canada just picked a side.
00:00:48.020 And to no one's surprise, it wasn't the people's. 0.66
00:00:51.980 It wasn't Canadians. And it definitely wasn't Albertans.
00:00:56.500 It was communist China. Trump is saying it out loud at this point. China will eat Canada alive, devour its businesses, undermine its economy and use Canada as a tool against the United States to Canada's detriment, by the way.
00:01:16.060 And whether you like Trump or not, this part is objectively true. 0.96
00:01:22.120 China does not do friendship deals.
00:01:26.420 China does leverage.
00:01:28.600 China does control.
00:01:30.780 China does dependency.
00:01:33.480 And Ottawa is walking straight into it. 0.87
00:01:37.040 But maybe that's the plan.
00:01:38.680 Maybe that is Mark Carney's plan.
00:01:41.520 Beijing, Canada's greatest security threat.
00:01:44.600 That was during the election.
00:01:46.620 Despite this, within a year, he signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Communist China as it relates to security matters.
00:01:54.220 I have been asking for that Memorandum of Understanding for over five months.
00:01:59.320 The Minister, the Prime Minister have refused to disclose it.
00:02:02.920 When will they produce the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed with Communist China?
00:02:07.520 I cannot speak to the specifics of what is in the MOU based on, obviously, an agreement with our partner.
00:02:15.480 In that particular case, Chinese law enforcement, that we would not disclose anything in the agreement without their permission. 0.93
00:02:23.160 China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric and general way of life. 0.98
00:02:30.360 We have had James Rajat as our representative in Washington for the last number of years. 0.95
00:02:36.780 and he has done just an amazing job in building relationships down there.
00:02:40.660 We had a real opportunity in the last couple of years
00:02:42.780 because the Democrats were very concerned about energy affordability
00:02:46.040 and the Republicans were very concerned about energy security
00:02:49.040 and we're able to offer a value proposition for both.
00:02:52.280 It's very concerning that Mexico has been courting China
00:02:55.840 as a way of doing investment in their nation
00:02:58.700 to draw out manufacturing from both America and Canada.
00:03:03.120 The fact that Lighthizer made a point of saying
00:03:05.580 They are doing this.
00:03:06.600 It's hurting us.
00:03:07.320 It's hurting you. 0.99
00:03:08.040 Why do you keep on aligning yourselves with Mexico? 0.98
00:03:11.720 You should look out for yourself. 0.99
00:03:13.360 That stayed with me.
00:03:14.760 Donald Trump has made it very, very clear that he thinks everybody is free riding on
00:03:19.480 the American military prowess.
00:03:21.340 So if we want to be able to continue to trade, we've got to make sure that we're meeting
00:03:25.880 our obligation on our international spending for defense to do whatever we can to demonstrate
00:03:31.880 that we are the exception.
00:03:33.700 And I think we'll be able to make that case. 0.82
00:03:35.200 Well, I think it's more than obvious at this point that Alberta just chose Alberta first and America first as Canada continues to bow down to communist China. 0.78
00:03:46.600 And I know that sounds dramatic, but honestly, just look at what's happening. 0.68
00:03:51.000 I mean, on one side, you've got Alberta still working with the United States, still trying to make deals and still treating America like our most important ally, because it is.
00:04:01.760 And on the other hand, you've got Ottawa. You've got Mark Carney and the liberals opening the door to China, importing tens of thousands of Chinese electric vehicles, basically no tariffs, while the United States is literally warning Canada not to become a backdoor for Chinese goods.
00:04:20.140 Donald Trump didn't even sugarcoat it. He called Carney governor. He said Canada is turning into a drop-off port for China. And he straight up warned, if Canada sides with China, the United States could slap a 100% tariff on Canadian goods.
00:04:37.760 Think about how insane that is. That is an economy ending amount in tariffs. The United States, our biggest trading partner, our biggest customer, our biggest security ally is basically saying, do not let China use you against us. And Ottawa's response is, well, yeah, but Chinese EVs, though. And, you know, we got to diversify. And, you know, it's a new world order and all of that.
00:05:06.700 And most countries have, I know grudgingly, but they've said, we understand your policy,
00:05:15.060 we understand so we're going to negotiate with you, we're going to remove some of these
00:05:19.420 tariffs and non-tariff barriers, etc.
00:05:23.300 Canada's approach has been different.
00:05:25.640 They like China retaliated against the United States.
00:05:29.040 Two countries in the world retaliated against us, the People's Republic of China and Canada.
00:05:33.880 So they're just in a different spot.
00:05:35.820 You know, the United States has recognized that the CCP is infiltrating Canada, and that threat level has increased substantially.
00:05:43.200 It's only been recently that the U.S. administration has taken steps to identify it and call Canada out.
00:05:48.240 Should Canada take further steps with the CCP, we don't know where that could go.
00:05:55.360 You know, from Chinese boots on the ground to munitions to that military-type support,
00:06:02.200 That's a bigger concern, I think, for the United States than the hybrid warfare pieces at this moment.
00:06:07.440 It's been building for the last 30 years and say, you need to fix what's going on in your country because we're worried about you. 0.61
00:06:14.880 And that's where the concern is.
00:06:16.940 And now you're worried that it's accelerating, basically.
00:06:19.440 That's what you're saying, right?
00:06:20.560 Yes, absolutely.
00:06:22.560 Absolutely.
00:06:23.140 It's definitely accelerating.
00:06:25.660 The brakes have been taken off.
00:06:27.260 The constraints that were once there are no longer limiting.
00:06:32.620 So the CCP has a free run in Canada.
00:06:36.080 So this is what this really comes down to.
00:06:38.880 This isn't just about tariffs.
00:06:40.620 This isn't just about EVs.
00:06:42.660 This isn't even just about Donald Trump.
00:06:45.140 This is about a fundamental choice.
00:06:47.780 Do you align with the world's largest democratic economy, your neighbor, your oldest and biggest
00:06:54.000 customer, your biggest security partner?
00:06:56.360 or do you align with a communist regime that uses trade as a weapon and sees western countries as
00:07:03.860 adversaries well alberta has made its choice alberta said america and alberta first energy
00:07:12.220 first real trade first real alliances first well maybe the best way to describe it is for
00:07:20.020 people to examine how scared and fearful they are that donald trump will crush their economy
00:07:26.480 That's how scared and fearful Albertans are that the Liberals will continue to crush our economy.
00:07:30.940 All of the damage that we have seen over the last 10 years,
00:07:34.040 most of it has come from bad federal policy coming out of the alliance between the Liberals and the NDs
00:07:39.520 to target our industry and to put in punitive policies that are designed to keep our oil and gas in the ground.
00:07:44.500 Ottawa made a different choice, though.
00:07:46.560 They said cheap Chinese goods, carnies own profits, and let's just hope and see what happens.
00:07:53.140 And now the United States is basically saying, do not drag us into this because you don't want to see what happens next.
00:08:01.620 So the real question is, is Canada actually moving away from the United States or is Ottawa just so desperate for global relevance that they're willing to play both sides and risk burning their most important ally?
00:08:16.820 Because one province clearly gets it, and the rest of the country seems determined to learn this lesson the hard way.
