00:00:00.000 The Liberal government has announced it is cracking down further on its gun control measures.
00:00:04.640 This past week, hundreds of firearm models and variants were added to the government's list of banned weapons.
00:00:10.640 Vice Chair, does the Minister know what an RPAL is?
00:00:13.040 I'm a Minister.
00:00:14.060 I do not.
00:00:15.500 Member.
00:00:18.440 Does the Minister know what the CFSC is?
00:00:21.880 I'm a Minister.
00:00:23.220 I do not, no.
00:00:24.760 Member.
00:00:25.920 I'll stipulate, Chair, that is the Canadian's firearm safety course that all gun owners in Canada have to do to get their firearms license.
00:00:32.340 Has the Minister ever done the Canadian firearm safety course?
00:00:35.380 I'm a Minister.
00:00:36.820 Speaker, is my third week on the job?
00:00:38.720 No, I have not.
00:00:40.120 This guy is the Liberal Minister for Public Safety, who's going to be leading the confiscation of firearms from law-abiding gun owners.
00:00:49.220 And he doesn't even know what a gun license is.
00:00:52.700 Seriously.
00:00:53.220 You can't make this stuff up.
00:00:59.940 Today, the government is adding a further 324 unique makes and models of assault-style firearms to the list of prohibited firearms in Canada.
00:01:16.480 Well, anyone who's been paying attention to Canada, even for a little bit, could have seen this coming.
00:01:35.860 The Canadian federal government seems dead set on disarming its own citizens.
00:01:41.700 The actual criminals?
00:01:43.440 Well, they get a free pass.
00:01:45.400 Just a couple months back, they banned a whole list of firearms.
00:01:49.260 And get this.
00:01:50.400 We're not talking about machine guns, bazookas, or anything like that.
00:01:53.780 We're talking .22s and regular old duck-hunting rifles.
00:01:58.420 The kind your grandpa used to teach you how to shoot with.
00:02:01.240 But now they're calling them assault rifles and weapons of war.
00:02:04.880 Like we're all just stockpiling for an invasion.
00:02:07.640 And the kicker?
00:02:08.900 The Liberals just promised to ramp up their efforts.
00:02:11.300 Meanwhile, the thugs and gang members keep getting their hands on illegal guns.
00:02:16.840 No problem at all.
00:02:18.500 Makes you wonder who the government really sees as a threat.
00:02:21.540 We have access to all the information available on whether or not these measures result in an increase in public safety.
00:02:28.800 They clearly don't because anyone can see that Canada is more dangerous than it's ever been right now after all this gun control.
00:02:35.620 But they still continue.
00:02:36.720 The move has further upset legal gun owners who say most gun-based crimes are committed with illegally procured handguns often coming from the United States.
00:02:46.160 Rod Giltak of the Canadian Centre for Firearm Rights says the federal government also seems to have problems identifying which guns are assault weapons and which are not.
00:02:55.220 If you look through that list, there are countless .22 caliber rifles.
00:02:58.600 These are rifles that you would give to 12-year-old kids that are just learning about firearms.
00:03:03.400 These are not overwhelmingly weapons of war.
00:03:06.040 This is just everything that they don't like.
00:03:08.120 I guess this is part of their effort to try to, again, gaslight Canadians.
00:03:13.700 You know, like if you're for Ukraine, then you're for the gun ban and you're for the gun confiscation.
00:03:19.040 Now, here's the part where things get real twisted.
00:03:22.080 The data's out there, loud and clear.
00:03:25.080 And it says gun crime hasn't gone down one bit.
00:03:28.180 In fact, it's gone up.
00:03:29.960 But instead of admitting they were wrong, the Liberals just double down and say it's all in the name of public safety.
00:03:36.820 They're trying to scare people into thinking grandpa's bolt action is the reason crime is out of control.
00:03:43.060 And now they're claiming they're sending these so-called assault weapons to Ukraine.
00:03:48.460 Yeah, sure.
00:03:49.820 I bet someone's taking a break in a trench over there to load up a squirrel rifle from Saskatchewan.
00:03:55.440 This isn't about safety.
00:03:57.380 This is about control.
00:03:59.100 Plain and simple.
00:04:00.420 And Alberta ain't having it.
00:04:02.160 The government here made it clear.
00:04:04.420 They're not gonna let Ottawa walk in and strip Albertans of their rights.
00:04:08.420 They even put the right to keep your legally acquired weapons into our Provincial Bill of Rights.
00:04:14.300 That's leadership right there.
00:04:15.820 Provincial politicians are back in the Alberta legislature and already have a major bill to debate.
00:04:21.720 For the first time in five decades, the province is amending Alberta's Bill of Rights.
00:04:26.560 The premier says the changes will strengthen protections for certain rights and freedoms.
00:04:31.140 Critics, though, say the legislation could put Albertans at risk.
00:04:34.680 Would strengthen the Alberta Bill of Rights and ensure our province remains one of the freest societies in the world.
00:04:40.400 On the first day of the fall session, Alberta's premier is making her priorities clear.
00:04:44.900 No one should be pressured into accepting any medical treatment without their full consent, including a vaccine.
00:04:51.060 A new bill aims to strengthen rights for property and gun owners,
00:04:54.100 as well as broaden legislation to protect freedom of expression beyond speech and writing.
00:04:58.820 It also protects people with capacity from being compelled or coerced into receiving medical treatments
00:05:04.200 What we're seeing here is Alberta taking a big step towards real independence, not just in words, but in action.
00:05:12.960 The premier is not waiting around for permission from Ottawa.
00:05:16.180 She's out there protecting the rights of Albertans, especially when it comes to owning firearms.
00:05:21.600 It's now the law of the land here that you have the right to keep your legally of 10 firearms,
00:05:26.760 and no federal politician is going to trample on that.
00:05:29.740 But this didn't happen on its own.
00:05:32.620 There's grassroots groups like the Alberta Black Hats, who rolled up their sleeves and pushed for this.
00:05:38.740 They worked hard to get those rights enshrined, not just for themselves, but for every rancher, hunter, and homeowner across this province.
00:05:48.160 That's what real community looks like.
00:05:50.080 So the Black Hats is just a grassroots organization that literally designed the new Bill of Rights.
00:05:57.100 So what we did was we built it, and then we basically brought it to the premier.
00:06:02.300 So the premier assigned a member of the government to help us with this, and now she's tabling it in the fall session.
00:06:08.840 Now inside the Bill of Rights is going to be the right to bear arms, is how it reads.
00:06:14.200 So that's of interest to NFA members, and that's how we partnered.
00:06:18.720 So what's happened is we asked for support at the AGM in Red Deer on the 1st and 2nd of November from gun owners,
00:06:26.280 and it appears that we may have gotten some.
00:06:28.600 The last two days of the sign-up for the early bird, we had 1,200 people sign.
00:06:34.720 So be aware that this is now going to be the largest political event in the history of Canada.
00:06:39.280 So there's approximately 5,600 people going now, so, you know, last year we had 37, and it was the biggest.
00:06:46.140 Bear in mind, though, that this is also done by grassroots people, but not by politicians.
00:06:50.200 So these are the people that got hurt.
00:06:51.840 These are the people that understand what happened during COVID.
00:06:53.880 These are the people that don't want to lose their rights and freedoms.
00:06:56.160 So this is a by the people, for the people type of document.
00:06:59.740 Yes, it's going to go to government, but then the government is going to have to amend it and change it.
00:07:03.680 But by showing up to the AGM and supporting it,
00:07:05.980 what's going to happen is that we're likely to keep it more as is.
00:07:09.280 And so it's important to us and to you and to every Albertan.
00:07:13.020 Well, she states publicly that she's the most freedom-thinking premier in Canada.
00:07:16.960 And I would have to say that she's probably the most freedom-thinking premier in the free world, actually, right now.
00:07:21.880 I'm sure there's some Americans that rival that, but definitely in Canada.
00:07:25.980 And I would say that, you know what, while she's there, we have the opportunity to do this stuff.
00:07:30.420 I would like to take this opportunity so that all gun owners understand the kind of power that they would have
00:07:36.540 if they would unite and get involved in politics in any way, shape, or form.
00:08:00.420 So, I'm going to get involved.
