As the virtue signaling capital of the world that Canada is, our government has announced that they ll be taking in those foreign workers rejected by the United States. While America tries to get its house in order, the Canadian government is looking to stick it to Trump at the expense of its own citizens not being able to find work in their own country.
00:00:00.000So President Donald Trump has decided to put Americans first by reducing the amount of foreign workers who can come into that country to allow Americans to be the ones who apply and get those jobs for a change.
00:00:15.380And guess what Canada has decided to do instead? As the virtue signaling capital of the world that Canada is, our government has announced that they'll be taking in those foreign workers rejected by the United States.
00:00:32.000You can't make this stuff up. That's just where Canada is at right now. We now take the rejects from other countries.
00:00:40.000While America tries to get its house in order, the Canadian government is looking to stick it to Trump at the expense of its own citizens not being able to find work in their own country.
00:00:54.800Let's get into the video. So a couple of weeks back, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump announced that they're going to make it much more difficult for H-1B visa holders to be hired.
00:01:10.000By American companies. That way, given opportunities to American citizens or immigrants who are already in the United States, i.e. green card holders.
00:01:21.360Here's a clip from that press conference. Let's have a listen.
00:01:24.860No more will these big tech companies or other big companies train foreign workers.
00:01:30.980They have to pay the government $100,000. Then they have to pay the employee. So it's just not economic.
00:01:36.900If you're going to train somebody, you're going to train one of the recent graduates from one of the great universities across our land, train Americans, stop bringing people to take our jobs.
00:01:49.600That's the policy here. $100,000 a year for H-1B visas. And all of the big companies are on board.
00:01:57.900We've spoken to them about the gold card.
00:01:59.580They love it. They love it. They really love it. They need it. Go ahead, Sean.
00:02:03.320So President Trump is basically taking away the incentive to hire a foreigner from these companies that have abused the H-1B visa system.
00:02:13.980The H-1B visa is one that's been used mostly for tech workers, companies like Google, Apple, etc., bringing in foreigners for jobs that they supposedly couldn't find an American to do.
00:02:25.620However, what they've been found to do is that they just go straight to a foreigner as opposed to try to hire an American to begin with.
00:02:33.400Here we have Mark Carney, Canadian prime minister, saying that he's going to be targeting H-1B visas for recruitment in a bid to attract foreign tech workers that Trump is cracking down on, more like rejecting.
00:02:48.800A betrayal of Canadian workers and STEM graduates. I would say. I would say. I mean, are there no Canadian tech workers that are qualified?
00:03:01.240Let's have a listen to what he had to say.
00:03:02.760So $1.7 billion for the world's most talented researchers, a thousand of them, and targeted H-1B visa recruitment from the United States.
00:03:30.820But when you are good, you know you have to get better, and that's what we're going to do with talent.
00:03:35.620Says we have the most educated workforce.
00:03:37.720Apparently not, because if we did, we wouldn't have to take in the rejects from the United States, the H-1B visa rejects from the U.S.
00:03:47.180You would hire the most educated workforce right here in Canada.
00:03:52.620You would hire those graduates from University of Toronto, University of Calgary, Vancouver, etc.
00:03:59.360But what you're doing is you're now going to be targeting H-1B visa rejects.
00:04:05.120How do you reconcile the statement that we have the most educated, most qualified workforce with trying to attract foreigners to do the work that apparently you can't find Canadians to do?
00:04:20.740And here we have a clip from President Donald Trump at a press conference in the Oval Office expressing just how difficult and frustrating it's been for him to negotiate with Canada.
00:04:30.300And mind you, he's only used the word difficult and frustrating for two countries, two countries he's negotiated with.
00:06:13.460You know, we do a lot of business with Canada, but relatively little.
00:06:17.260They do most of their businesses with us.
00:06:20.460And when you have that circumstance, you treat people better.
00:06:23.860And people will say, well, Donald Trump is just being arrogant in speaking that way and saying that we have all the cards and we hold great power over Canada.
00:06:32.400Well, as harsh as that may sound, it is factually true.
00:06:36.840It's simple economics and economics and numbers don't care about your feelings or your ideology.
00:06:43.460The Canadian economy is heavily dependent on U.S. exports.
00:06:49.220Canada does two-thirds of its trade with the United States.
