00:00:59.020 help people improve which this one definitely will um please share it for us so we're gonna get into

00:01:04.780 75 hard today we're gonna get into it in depth uh with that being said i'd like to welcome my buddy

00:01:11.520 josiah rasmussen on the show what's up brother what's up man thanks for having me yeah you're

00:01:16.400 welcome i'm good man they uh they were super welcoming coming in dj showed us around and uh

00:01:22.520 i'm doing good man yeah what'd you think crazy dude yeah they showed me the locker i was like man

00:01:28.020 had all had all my stuff had some dog treats in it everything yeah well look dude uh everybody in

00:01:34.100 this building for the most part done the program so we all have a ton of respect for people who

00:01:39.660 uh have done it so that's uh that's our guys showing you respect uh for for doing what you did

00:01:46.640 now where are you from so i'm uh 28 years old cincinnati ohio um basically lived there my whole

00:01:55.800 life i was born in texas uh moved there with my family when i was about 12 years old um if i can

00:02:03.260 remember so been there for most of my life and yeah man second time in uh st louis i believe i was down

00:02:10.120 here i don't even know if that's how you say it yeah st louis okay yeah uh second time i was down here

00:02:15.540 when i was like 13 years old maybe but pretty similar to cincinnati for the most part it is it's

00:02:20.960 very similar type city yeah yeah so what do you do man so i'm actually i'm a ups driver man just a

00:02:27.640 uh normal blue collar dude who uh works hard works hard man yeah and uh nothing crazy just

00:02:34.660 regular dude who got an opportunity to come on this show and kind of tell my story tell people how

00:02:39.940 you got the opportunity to come on the show so basically um i sent me a dm he says hey bro

00:02:46.920 i got a story i want to come on the show that's what i'm saying i said all right cool send me your 0.59

00:02:52.240 shit no so basically what i was telling uh dj before i came in um i've never really been big 0.79

00:02:59.600 into like manifestation because i've never really like yeah i've always believed in it but i've never

00:03:03.460 really like put it into play and actually saw it through so basically um how it all started you 0.69

00:03:09.860 want me to kind of give you the whole story just the beginning and all that fuck yeah bro okay so 0.78

00:03:13.880 the very beginning basically i want to know i got you man i got you so uh saw a couple people doing it 0.94

00:03:20.420 on instagram basically right away i was like not doing it no booze no way i'm doing two workouts

00:03:28.760 because i work out every single day basically and uh my initial thought was like i'm not doing it so

00:03:34.040 um time went by it was probably like two months and june came basically uh heard one of the podcast i

00:03:43.640 can't remember what guest it was there was one of the 75 hard guests but heard that podcast and i heard

00:03:50.580 the confidence in that person's voice it was it was the girl i can't remember her name lexi it was lexi or 0.88

00:03:56.300 that or that dude dude i can't remember i think i listened to both who omar yeah it was one of them

00:04:01.340 basically i like heard the confidence in the voice and i was like at that time i was kind of at a point

00:04:07.020 in my life this was only back in june but everything for me was stagnant man i would wake up i'd go to

00:04:12.680 work i'd get off work go home basically make every excuse not to do something that i knew i wasn't

00:04:20.960 supposed to be doing as far as like um working on myself working on self-development so so what would

00:04:26.980 you do when you got home it would depend i mean like i said i worked out every day basically

00:04:31.800 ever since i was like 28 now ever since i was like 16 um always kind of had that regimen but i got into

00:04:39.240 this rhythm where basically i would justify my reasons to do things such as i work 10 hours i'm

00:04:47.120 gonna go home and drink a couple beers because i worked hard and other reasons like um with diet

00:04:54.680 and stuff like i worked out i deserve to eat this pizza and i know it sounds kind of no minuscule and

00:04:59.500 kind of no that's what we all do and that's what i'm saying so like and the fact that it's very human

00:05:04.680 right yeah and some people would come up to me and they'd be like when i started 75 hard and they'd be

00:05:08.780 like dude you already work out you already do this and so the fact that people were coming up to me

00:05:14.540 telling me that knowing that i was working out i was like man all these people i'm surrounding

00:05:19.920 myself with are weak and i'm weak myself but i had people coming up to me telling me that i'm doing

00:05:25.520 it right and i'm like there's there's something going on like it's me being mentally weak and i know

00:05:31.820 it sounds like i said kind of cliche but basically heard that podcast um heard the confidence i think

00:05:38.700 it was lexi who i listened to but i heard that i heard the confidence um kind of did some more

00:05:43.680 research listen to your 75 hard podcast episode 14 um listen to that and uh i actually listened to

00:05:52.420 it like three times in like two days just so i can understand what to do um yeah the reasoning behind

00:05:57.940 everything right because i wanted to make sure like just kind of fully understand it so yeah for

00:06:03.060 those of you guys uh he's talking about episode 14 in the real af feed uh also you can get the book

00:06:09.460 on my website andyprissela.com which will explain exactly what he's talking about you could do it for

00:06:14.780 free or you could buy the book either way yeah so um basically this was like i said in june

00:06:21.960 and i told myself i'm like this is something i need to do like i was actually driving for ups i was

00:06:27.240 driving the truck and i was like dude i gotta do this like i it's something i think i can do but 0.94

00:06:32.260 if i do it and i don't finish it no one's gonna give a shit and that was something that i thought 0.94

00:06:38.140 about and then uh it was july 5th and it's kind of a ridiculous story but i was golfing with some 0.89

00:06:45.080 buddies and we're drinking beers and golfing for me is like my kind of escape it's like my happy place

00:06:51.820 and so i'm golfing and i just find myself like not happy at all i'm just like something like

00:06:57.220 something's going on and this is the day after the 4th of july so wake up the next day and it was

00:07:04.700 july 6th and i just decided i was like today's the day so did my cardio did my outdoor cardio got

00:07:12.180 got a healthy breakfast in kind of put together a meal plan for myself basically hadn't had a list

00:07:18.040 of foods that i could eat and then obviously no cheap meals um and then i got done with my cardio

00:07:24.540 and i was like i'm gonna post this on instagram so i can so people know like i'm doing it's about

00:07:30.340 to go down yeah and then i thought about it and i was like dude if i post this and i remember one

00:07:35.360 podcast that you did that i listened to i think this is the one uh yeah i'm pretty sure it was one

00:07:41.660 with omar and basically you said that when you did it for the first time and correct me if i'm wrong

00:07:46.760 that the only reason you did it is because you told people you were going to do it yeah i had a bet

00:07:53.320 right i had a bet going with a bunch of guys right yeah and so you said if i hadn't have done it then

00:07:59.640 i was a fraud yeah that's what you said yeah and i've heard that podcast and that just stuck with me

00:08:05.260 dude yeah and literally that was the exact reason why i got through the 75 days yeah because i was

00:08:10.920 raised in a family where my dad always said like basically be a man of your word yeah your words all 0.98

00:08:16.320 you got yeah and uh so yeah man i mean that was like the one thing that was like don't be a bitch 1.00

00:08:22.580 like yeah you got to do it and that's why i told myself if i start i'm not stopping like i'm not 0.79

00:08:27.520 going back to day one dude that's the level of commitment it takes you know what you're what

00:08:31.700 you're describing from the people who do really well and do the program and get what the program

00:08:37.720 is intended to give you you have to approach it with that attitude i'm finishing it no matter what

00:08:42.700 right that's where the idea of uh you know zero compromise comes in zero zero compromise like 0.97

00:08:48.380 there is no other solution like i'm gonna do this for the next 75 days no matter what the fuck 0.87

00:08:54.400 happens that's what i'm doing and uh you know for those of you who you know this is going to air on

00:09:00.000 a sunday and i'm sure a lot of people are going to be saying oh man tomorrow's my day don't approach

00:09:05.400 it with this idea and i'm sure you can attest to this as well with this meant like how different

00:09:09.280 would have been if you approached it with the mentality of you know i'm gonna try this out

00:09:13.920 you see what i'm saying dude i had because another thing you said was like don't try to

00:09:18.700 put into perspective or don't base it on things that you have coming up in the future as far as

00:09:24.200 like plans and events and stuff and i didn't even look dude i knew i had things scheduled yeah in the

00:09:29.600 next 75 days but i woke up and it had to have been like a god thing no joke and he i think i think

00:09:35.440 that's what it was yeah he's like dude wake your ass up today's the day and i didn't i was like if 0.88

00:09:40.340 i start it if i say i'm gonna do it if i post my day one it's over like i'm doing it and that and

00:09:46.740 that was the mindset that i had yeah and yeah that's what you have to have i mean if you had

00:09:53.020 approached that with the mentality of oh i'm just gonna try this out that's like saying hey i'm gonna

00:09:58.640 go out and try a fucking iron man like that's not what people do people go out and they do it and it 0.95

00:10:05.680 doesn't matter how tired you are it doesn't matter how long it takes it doesn't matter how hard it is 0.98

00:10:09.000 you push yourself through let's talk about a little bit about that like tell me a little bit about

00:10:13.500 how it was through the first you know in the beginning and then what became of it and what 0.95

00:10:18.200 you gained out of the program bro because i mean clearly you got fucking ripped i mean i appreciate 0.94

00:10:23.760 that yeah dude like you guys should see output we'll post his pictures in my story so you 0.94

00:10:28.000 could see him but and by the way what's your instagram so people could check it out yeah so

00:10:32.040 my instagram is uh first name josiah j-o-s-i-a-h underscore eric e-r-i-k okay so josiah underscore

00:10:39.820 eric e-r-i-k yep uh you guys gotta go look at his pictures because they're they're amazing um but lots

00:10:46.120 of people get amazing pictures i want to talk about i want to talk about the mentality i want to talk about

00:10:50.700 what you gained i want to talk about what you think it did for your life for sure yeah yeah so um

00:10:56.200 going into it because before i started it i basically was like my initial thought was

00:11:01.660 i'm going to uh do all the research this and that and for me personally i feel like the more i do that

00:11:09.320 the more i'm going to overthink it and the more it's going to get complicated and with 75 hard it's

00:11:13.420 a program where you have to go all the way in and go 100 can't have any compromise obviously but

00:11:19.900 at the same time you can't be you can't overthink it because there's your tasks and you know it need

00:11:25.900 to be needs to be done and you do it it's simple yeah and so i think a lot of people like a lot of

00:11:30.800 people ask me when i finish they're like hey man like what did you do this and that but like i said

00:11:36.500 going into it i didn't do a whole lot of research i knew what had to be done i had my list of meals i

00:11:42.640 could eat i had my idea of macros that i needed to follow basically and uh no alcohol that stuff

00:11:49.900 um but my first week my first week actually wasn't bad because i had already been working

00:11:55.860 out and with my job i'm doing i can even show you my phone after this i'm doing like 10 miles a day

00:12:01.600 of walking yeah which is about 20 basically like 20 000 steps before my cardio that i was doing

00:12:08.440 outside right so um my first week wasn't bad um i'm trying to think man as far as like what do you

00:12:17.240 want to know like the physical as far as like mental because i i can break down both it's a

00:12:21.180 little different for you because you're you know usually when people talk about the first couple

00:12:24.480 weeks they're in a lot of pain because it's an unusual amount of activity for them but with you

00:12:28.900 being active uh it's it's a lot i think it probably was a little bit helpful for you in terms of like 0.86

00:12:33.980 your feet probably didn't get all fucked up well yeah i don't want to get it twisted i don't want 0.99

00:12:37.660 anyone thinking like i'm i just did it and i wasn't in pain like yeah when i would get off work i told 0.91

00:12:43.480 you know tory i'd get off work at you know sometimes 10 11 at night yeah and i would do

00:12:48.960 my weightlifting in the morning i would check i would typically check the weather um to make sure

00:12:53.640 it wasn't going to like storm at night because i did have to do workouts in the storm but basically

00:12:58.160 i would uh check the weather make sure it wasn't going to rain uh some some days i'd basically get

00:13:03.900 off and uh i'd be doing cardio man at 11 o'clock at night and my feet are killing me my back's killing

00:13:10.220 me but those moments no bullshit were the moments where like i had the most mental clarity as far

00:13:16.440 as like digging digging deep and having those conversations conversations with myself and uh i

00:13:22.960 don't think that's what a lot of people understand who haven't done it because if you do it i was

00:13:27.320 telling these guys before um only the people that have truly done it feel that mentality that's right

00:13:33.240 that you feel that's right when you're at your peak that's right um progressing through 75 hard

00:13:38.500 that's right and so it's you can't know that until you've done it right so that's the hard thing 1.00

00:13:44.620 people are like oh yeah i did 21 days and i figured it out no you fucking didn't you didn't learn shit 0.98

00:13:50.760 you just barely got in the routine of this right you know what i'm saying how was it dude when you um 0.98

00:13:56.360 you know like i'm i'm thinking about the ups guys that that we have here i mean they work their 0.86

00:14:02.820 fucking asses off bro i mean there is no shortage of hard work there so what i'm curious because not 0.95

00:14:10.360 everybody has that active of a lifestyle so what was the biggest struggle for you going through the 0.99

00:14:15.640 program dude believe it or not um believe it or not it was the second workout because i would get

00:14:24.780 done man and i would just my back would be fried my i'd be sore from the workout from the day before

00:14:30.180 not cardio but from weight lifting or crossfit whatever i did um but it was 1000 that second

00:14:35.640 workout and going you got home from work correct yeah and going into it excuse me i thought that

00:14:42.180 would be the easiest aspect or task of completing in 75 hard it's just a it's just a little bit of

00:14:48.460 cardio right yeah and i got into that man and i'd have days where i'd be like dude i'd be walking

00:14:52.820 like an old man like holding the lower part of my back like strutting through this neighborhood

00:14:57.580 people are looking at me like 11 o'clock at fucking night in the rain some days i would i would go 0.97

00:15:02.440 straight from work and i would keep my ups uniform on i'm not making this up no i get it and uh i would 0.97

00:15:08.320 just be like walking in my neighborhood man with with my ups uniform on our ups our usps driver here

00:15:14.740 pat did 75 hard oh really and he did the same he i'd see him out here doing 75 hard in his in his

00:15:21.140 uniform that's what's up yeah so that's super cool a lot of a lot of uh parcel delivery guys

00:15:27.280 have done the program i've heard from a lot of them you're the first one i've had on the show

00:15:31.080 obviously because everybody i mean everybody i've talked to ups i i'll tell people about it and 0.99

00:15:35.140 they'll look at me like dude like what's going on in your head yeah i'm like you're fucking crazy 0.96

00:15:39.240 i'm like dude i'm i'm trying to get comfortable with being uncomfortable man that's all i'm trying to 0.97

00:15:43.720 do i'm young i can i can be active right now i'm healthy i got a job they can um pay for a gym

00:15:49.660 membership i had two gym memberships at the time i was doing uh 75 hard so um over time man i saw it

00:15:56.580 as more of like almost like a blessing like dude i can i'm healthy enough to do this and i'm growing

00:16:02.840 as an individual and that's that's the way i looked at it when people looked at me like i was

00:16:07.640 crazy and i'm like dude how many times you have to do your second uh that that outdoor workout in

00:16:12.600 the rain or elements so i have it's crazy uh probably i'd say probably like

00:16:19.660 honestly probably like 15 times yeah dude it's in the midwest man yeah we have rain middle of the

00:16:26.460 summer dude there's tornado warnings and everything dude for me those are my favorite workouts oh dude

00:16:32.000 that's when you dig deep man yeah that's my favorite workout and my favorite workout is

00:16:35.720 my favorite 75 hard workout i've ever done was literally the hardest one i ever did which was

00:16:42.400 i did cardio outside and uh january of this year 2021 it was minus 18 out and and like i was in 0.90

00:16:50.980 my fucking ski gear right that's some balls dude that's where that's the difference between yeah 0.99

00:16:55.660 dude and i'm out here right there i was out there and it's fucking winds blowing there's fucking snow 1.00

00:17:00.700 on the ground uh nuts are inside you you're like dude i'm yeah but bro people are driving by me in 0.98

00:17:06.460 the road and they're stopping me and they're like dude you need help and i'm like no thinking you're

00:17:10.660 some crackhead or something man yeah but dude that's where i always got the most out of like

00:17:15.920 i get the most power out of that because i'm able to be like man nobody's doing this nobody's doing

00:17:21.020 this right you know and and the thing that i really want to talk about that stood out to me when i was

00:17:26.500 doing it is um a lot of people like to get motivated through certain individuals and certain moments in

00:17:32.520 their life and they're they're motivated for a short amount of time temporarily motivated that's what it

00:17:37.060 is yeah and uh we all know that but when you're doing 75 hard you're basically permanently self

00:17:45.140 motivating your mind so you're not looking for podcasts that motivate you you're not you're digging

00:17:50.100 deep and having these conversations where no one else is around you're not talking to anybody except

00:17:55.260 for god yeah if if you have faith yeah and um which i do god will talk to you even if you don't have

00:18:00.940 faith yeah yeah that's right no attention yeah no no that's that's facts and uh so again i mean

00:18:06.900 you're you're literally having these these conversations with yourself man and like i'd

00:18:11.000 have i'd have nights man where i'd be walking and i would just start like yelling dude like just

00:18:15.960 amp like yeah not even piss nothing just like i felt something go through me and i was just like

00:18:22.020 dude i'm unstoppable yeah bro that is awesome yeah and and that's that's that and obviously

00:18:27.080 throughout the 75 days you're not not 24 hours a day for 75 days 100 yeah let's talk about that dude

00:18:34.940 like what were some like what were some of the tests you know i'm saying like how because dude

00:18:41.840 everybody that goes through 75 hard no matter how much you say i'm fucking doing this it doesn't 0.99

00:18:48.120 matter who it is it could be it could be anybody me included i got days where i'm like fuck this shit 0.99

00:18:54.420 you know i'm saying and i'm like damn dude and then i got to center myself back and i'm like no 0.99

00:18:59.400 you got to do it right how how how much of that conversation did you have with yourself 0.98

00:19:04.480 dude full transparency man and i'm not bullshitting you yeah the thing that you said about if i quit 0.83

00:19:12.100 i'm a fraud yeah and it just carries you through it's stuck in my head and like so for me like 0.97

00:19:17.100 well dude that says a lot about who the fuck you are but but that's not but again you know it's not 0.98

00:19:21.220 this isn't going on for 24 hours a day for 25 days i had those thoughts where i'm like dude like 0.99

00:19:25.680 this shit sucks man so i would say day one through 25 i would have probably once a day i would have a 0.99

00:19:33.460 thought in my head like like no one's gonna give a shit if you quit like no one's gonna know like 1.00

00:19:38.760 and then that thought that you said there that you spoke about on that podcast about uh being a fraud 0.98

00:19:44.040 dude just came back and it bit me and that was the boss voice your boss voice came in and and and 0.93

00:19:48.840 and smash pull my ass back that's right bro and uh so basically up until like 25 i had those you 0.96

00:19:55.900 know questions like man i don't know if i'm gonna do this and then after i think it was 24 it might 0.98

00:19:59.940 have been yeah it was 25 because i was a third of the way through um that's when i switched gears

00:20:05.500 dude i was like i'm 1000 not quitting i'm making this my bitch and i'm going all the way in that's 1.00

00:20:12.800 awesome and uh again that thought of of you just saying can't be a fraud yeah can't be can't be 0.88

00:20:18.740 quitting man stuck with me bro i listen i think we spend a lot of time i think of everybody if every 0.98

00:20:25.200 single person is honest with themselves you spend a lot of time actually being a fucking fraud okay 0.97

00:20:30.320 a lot of us like to think especially as we get older we like to we like to hang on to our past 0.97

00:20:36.280 accomplishments right and you know you know the guys like hey dude i scored four touchdowns in

00:20:40.940 fucking high school i've been that guy right yeah exactly or or uh you know i used to be in 0.85

00:20:46.460 great shape back back no one cares back then dude right and that's fraudulent thinking like you're 0.98

00:20:51.600 hanging on to an identity that no longer exists what's your identity now right and this is what

00:20:56.500 causes people all this frustration and anguish and pain and depression is because they're not living

00:21:02.340 up to the standard that they know they should be living up to and they're afraid to answer to it and

00:21:06.840 what this program does is it literally forces you into the person that you wish you were yep you know

00:21:14.140 and uh i've heard it over and over and over again but i mean like to me the testing of yourself daily

00:21:26.000 every single day is almost a requirement for being happy and at all you know like how did how did you feel

00:21:33.820 uh mood wise through the program were you crabby are you naturally a happy guy or were you um i mean

00:21:42.320 tory could probably even yeah talk on this um but i mean for the most part i i can be on edge yeah yeah

00:21:49.180 but i noticed um before i did 75 hard with all the negative things that have been normalized that i'd

00:21:54.300 been doing basically um kind of just like implemented that negative thought process into my head but i never

00:22:01.100 realized it because i think it's so normal for people to think negative it's it's a cultural norm

00:22:05.240 now right yeah yeah it's it's normal which is about how we do with our friends bro we get around some of

00:22:09.760 our friends we all got them and and you try to have a conversation and you try to move forward in a

00:22:14.660 positive way and it ends up being a bitch fest right about the job about the relationship it's literally 0.97

00:22:20.920 hard to get if you really pay attention it's really hard to hear positive shit well and that's that's the 0.90

00:22:27.280 biggest thing is like i would notice like i as time went on through the 75 days i would the people 0.87

00:22:32.740 who were negative and weak-minded would get exposed through my eyes just because i'm i'm doing what i

00:22:38.700 know i need to do and i'm not doing the negative bullshit that i'd been consistently buying into in 0.99

00:22:45.200 the past and not that you're like not that you're a horrible person no no having a beer from time to 0.94

00:22:49.440 time or eating a cheeseburger that's not what i'm saying no i'm saying that it's become some so

00:22:53.460 normal to become negative and i'm not saying this and mediocre too right yeah right yeah hold

00:22:59.560 ourselves to a standard that's comfortable not a standard that helps us and helps our family and

00:23:04.980 helps our communities we we i believe that we've become a nation of mediocre thinking and when you

00:23:13.000 try to do anything that's outside of that for any reason you know it's going to show you you can see

00:23:19.140 it very clearly well even the people that i grew up like uh respecting this isn't on anybody listening

00:23:24.940 um but even the people that i grew up like respecting and loving like some people would say

00:23:30.340 things like basically trying to compromise for me throughout this program like for instance i i drive

00:23:35.680 for ups i'm outside working 10 hours a day i could already tell you what they said bro bro you're

00:23:40.540 already working so hard you're doing enough right you're in that you work you already work hard and

00:23:45.380 everybody i know and that was when i immediately thought i for one second i thought about it yeah

00:23:50.460 one second and then that uh thing that you said about if you have to think about it you can't do

00:23:55.080 it yeah simple as that yeah and um so basically like i had people like almost trying to like justify

00:24:01.620 and like compromise my situation and i shut it down yeah and good for you don't get me wrong it's

00:24:06.440 people that i love people that are important in my life but at the same time it's like josiah you're

00:24:10.480 doing them a favor when you do right right that's the thing yeah and that's growth and if you can see

00:24:14.800 an individual like truly develop themselves from how they were from day one to day 75 as much as you

00:24:22.540 want to judge them whatever um you know if you love somebody and you see that then you got to

00:24:27.660 appreciate that yeah and that's that's what i saw also when you really love someone and you really care

00:24:33.060 about people it's our obligation to show them what it looks like to to squeeze more out of our lives

00:24:39.940 right you know what i'm saying right as as as as respected members of our little tribes you know

00:24:47.600 we have to take it upon ourselves to show people like hey this is how you get better this is how you

00:24:51.600 win i believe that well i mean if we i mean a hundred percent i agree we lived in a world where

00:24:56.880 everybody was like hey man you're okay to get off work go home watch netflix not not read to

00:25:04.300 gain some knowledge not work out to stay healthy i mean we'd be in a world where nothing will get

00:25:11.240 done there'd be no successful people and i mean obviously there's people who are doing 75 hard and

00:25:15.960 people who are working on self-development but just imagine a world man where everybody did 75 hard

00:25:22.800 like think about i know it's not going to happen i would pay every cent in my bank account for that

00:25:28.120 to have man i would too i'm dead serious i would too and uh but just today i wouldn't even think

00:25:32.740 twice about dude i'm like that investment would be i can't even give you the dollar amount for the

00:25:39.920 fact that people would be just completely changed man and again i'm not sitting here trying to sell

00:25:45.240 the program to anybody no but that's how we change the culture bro we change the culture through our

00:25:49.940 individual change right you know what i'm saying right so like the good thing for me and you is we 0.98

00:25:53.960 don't have to pay everybody all we got to do is do the shit and people see that right 0.97

00:25:57.920 that's exactly right i've had probably no joke 50 60 people reach out man and ask questions and i've 0.99

00:26:04.800 said it's fucking awesome it's not for everybody and again i'm not i'm not calling you a piece of 0.93

00:26:09.680 shit if you don't do it by any means but if you are stuck in a place where you whether you're a ups 0.92

00:26:16.360 driver own a company whatever it might be if you're stuck in a place where basically if you're just stuck 0.99

00:26:22.900 yeah then do 75 hard because it will completely switch your mindset and again i preach i put in

00:26:29.600 my post that it was all uh the mental aspect of it and i had one dude uh comment on like one of the

00:26:35.700 75 hard pages he's like this dude must not have understood like the point of it of you of me and i

00:26:41.480 was like dude did you not read in my post that i said it was the mental aspect because he's like he

00:26:45.480 saw my before and after picture and he's like it's not the physical part of it and i was like dude

00:26:51.280 the physical is a representation of how strict you were with the program right sorry that's just

00:26:55.720 a part of it my iq dropped when i read that i was like this dude i was like for some reason get it

00:27:01.100 yeah there's this there's this like it's like anything with any sort of like accomplishment right

00:27:07.000 like uh you could take an iron man for example or a marathon and there's critics of how it should

00:27:13.200 be done or power lifting only this counts or that counts or this or that and it's funny because 0.99

00:27:18.080 the motherfuckers that say that shit are usually the ones that never did it right you know i'm 0.99

00:27:21.520 saying yeah it's people who have tried it like three or four times quote unquote tried it there 1.00

00:27:26.460 is no fucking trying 75 hard guys it's a fucking commitment for first time in your fucking life 0.99

00:27:32.320 make a fucking commitment and say dude no matter what for the next 75 fucking days this is what i'm 0.99

00:27:37.580 doing and i don't give a fuck if the fucking world ends i'm doing it and people will respect you 0.99

00:27:42.780 100 more if you say that and you do it yeah because i've i had people in my life i won't 0.97

00:27:49.520 mention names but i had people that have come up to me and they're like man i'm uh about to start 75

00:27:55.480 hard and then i'd see like people i was following on instagram like influencers um who would be in

00:28:01.360 the middle of 75 hard dude and they'd post pictures of like them eating pizza and like it's like dude you

00:28:07.860 don't get it you either get it or you don't yeah if you don't get it you don't get it and that's okay

00:28:12.100 yeah but if you say you want to get better get better get better and do it because a lot of

00:28:16.940 people want to play this game um i know i keep bringing these back no bro you thought you you

00:28:21.960 said it when you said because what happens is it exposes right like it it changes your town it

00:28:28.080 changes your tolerance for excuses right like all those justifications that people tell you

00:28:35.320 you have while you're doing the program you could tell me if this happened to you but

00:28:39.280 you know you you begin to recognize that really all they're doing is verbalizing their own

00:28:47.240 justifications to why they're not doing it exactly it becomes very clear what things are excuses or

00:28:53.400 stories or justifications when you are actually following through in your own life and it makes

00:28:59.120 it really fucking crystal clear and i i would argue it's one of the hardest things for people to deal

00:29:04.300 with on the program because you kind of separate yourself from a lot of people who are probably 0.87

00:29:11.000 really good friends or people that love you and care about you because your mentality has completely 0.65

00:29:15.840 fucking changed but the good part of that right there's there's a good part in it the bad part is 0.73

00:29:21.840 at first it's uncomfortable the good part is a number of those people will figure out hey man i should 0.98

00:29:26.540 be following along yeah no 100 and once you and going into that kind of once you learn how to say 0.95

00:29:34.240 no yeah and truly mean it yeah you're like no yeah and you say no people will be like well shit i don't 0.61

00:29:41.260 i don't have a rebuttal for that yeah you want to fight me you want to fight me because i don't want to 0.51

00:29:45.060 go get a beer yeah let's fight dude i'm cool i'm cool with that but i'm saying like there's literally no

00:29:50.260 other rebuttal no i think that's the i think that's one of the the very underrated true keys

00:29:55.920 of that program bro is that it really does teach you to say no without apologizing right you have

00:30:00.840 to because you have to do it yeah the first time it's like no because i'm doing and then eventually

00:30:06.220 you get tired of saying no you're like no i'm not doing it when i've always i'll be if we're being

00:30:10.360 honest i've always been the kind of person that i've been in my past i've been a people pleaser type

00:30:15.160 of person where obviously i want people i want to make people happy yeah but you end up doing

00:30:19.600 things that you didn't actually really want to do to make those people happy right and that are

00:30:22.920 things that didn't serve you to make them happy exactly yeah exactly and so uh over time that

00:30:28.080 was what i got really good at is saying no and meaning it because once you have that vision man

00:30:32.740 once you're 100 invested there's no other option and i can truly say man like on everything that there

00:30:39.360 wasn't one time uh where there was compromise man and that alone right there because i easily could

00:30:45.000 tell i easily could have yeah i easily could have drank a beer after a long day at work i

00:30:49.380 easily could have whatever but like it's that it's that thought in your head that you're like

00:30:54.080 no one's gonna know you can't fake that dude can't fake it listen this is that's the funniest thing

00:30:59.200 about the 75 hard uh phenomenon or whatever you want to call it because it's not it's not a trend

00:31:05.560 it's been going on for three fucking years it's not going anywhere by the way i have a second book 0.97

00:31:09.000 about it coming out but the point of it is is that you end up in a situation that brings clarity 0.89

00:31:19.220 to literally almost every area of your life that you didn't have before talk about that dude like

00:31:24.580 talk about some of the mental gains like where where were you weak like you just said a minute ago

00:31:29.500 like you're people pleaser right and this program has helped you realize that that's not always

00:31:33.900 productive for what you want to do right right so let's talk about some of the more mental things

00:31:39.540 like how how did it uh how did it affect your relationships with like people or food or even

00:31:44.840 your relationship here like um so i would say our relationship got better because being in that

00:31:50.660 positive as far as tori and in my relationship um i think it got better because i was in that clear

00:31:57.280 positive mindset uh for the majority of the time and i was very open-minded to um conversation that

00:32:03.620 wasn't uh going to be negative i was 100 more understanding than what i was before because i was a lot

00:32:09.260 more positive as far as um other things i truly believe that you basically have to do something out

00:32:17.100 of your uh normal job out of your normal life to grow and that's self-development so for example

00:32:22.960 i'm not i i honestly don't know what i'm going to do for the rest of my life i'm not saying that

00:32:27.780 i'm going to be at ups i'm not saying i'm not um but i truly believe in like educating yourself and

00:32:32.480 the only way to do that is by getting out of your comfort zone when you're off of work when you're

00:32:37.440 yes sir um when you have that time and it kind of goes into time management and with the whole 0.71

00:32:41.680 reading thing um i realized that like before 75 hard i wasn't i wasn't learning shit about anything 0.54

00:32:49.080 man i wasn't focusing on really anything i was going to work i was coming home i was hanging out

00:32:54.520 with my family my friends nothing wrong with that no but i wasn't growing right and if you're not

00:32:58.280 growing if you're not learning technically you're dying yep and um basically that's the way i saw it

00:33:04.040 so over time i definitely saw that that was something that i grew in and uh kind of changed into

00:33:11.040 um but i mean man just overall time management dude you don't realize it's simple you don't realize 0.77

00:33:17.680 how much bullshit you're doing um that you know you shouldn't be doing and over time that gets 0.89

00:33:23.800 exposed and if you are focused on what needs to be done day to day and you win the day you're going 0.99

00:33:29.080 to see that and that's going to get exposed over time and you're going to be like okay i can't be

00:33:32.240 doing this um i need to slow down with this i need to focus more on that and uh just the the pure

00:33:39.360 lack of time that it creates creates you to be it actually creates the perception of more time

00:33:45.160 right exactly yeah you feel like that yeah yeah yeah yeah and so like it got to the point dude

00:33:49.720 where i was on like day i know that doesn't make sense to people people are like hearing that and

00:33:53.380 they're like wait you're doing more how do you mean yeah yeah no no i get that 100 because i got to uh

00:33:58.960 i got to like day 50 dude and i was so locked on my day-to-day uh or on my daily tasks that i had to

00:34:05.340 do for 75 hard that i had it down to the t like the only thing i couldn't control is exactly what time

00:34:11.040 i got off work yeah so i'd wake up i'd start chugging water i'd literally wake up start chugging

00:34:15.800 water yeah as much as i could ahead of the game yeah because i knew because i knew i was going to

00:34:19.260 the gym yeah or i was doing cardio if you're doing cardio you're sweating so you're sweating out a lot

00:34:23.260 of that water which is good because you're not pissing 15 times right so i would go to the gym

00:34:28.820 um immediately when i woke up i'd usually get like an apple banana whatever fruit just a quick carb in me

00:34:34.800 um go to the gym i'd come home eat my breakfast typically the same thing every day it'd be

00:34:40.760 ezekiel bread uh avocado eggs yeah basically that and a protein shake go to work um and the only

00:34:47.980 thing i could control at work was the water i was consuming as fast as i could because again you don't

00:34:53.860 want to be drinking water at nine o'clock at night yeah going to the bathroom many times it kind of

00:34:57.520 fucks you up because then you're up all night right yeah and then yeah obviously you got to be up 0.91

00:35:01.740 and you're tired for the next day yeah can't be having that so um basically i'd go to work and i'd 0.98

00:35:07.780 the only focus i had man was working drinking water and not eating not cheating on on my diet and just

00:35:15.160 eating the meals that i packed that were my part of my meal plan and then again get off work whether

00:35:19.600 i did cardio or lift it i'd get home do that so again that was the only time i couldn't control and

00:35:24.220 that that is why i said that was the hardest part because i'd have days i'd get off at five

00:35:28.040 and then i'd have days i'd get off at 11 30 and i'm driving home trying not to fall asleep

00:35:32.500 and i'm doing cardio yeah and again the more you get into it the more you have those conversations

00:35:37.660 in your head and you get you'd start digging deep and you're like i'm unstoppable yeah and that's

00:35:42.880 where i got but i think uh this kind of conversation always starts with me going like this like the 0.72

00:35:48.200 first 10 minutes of me being outside when it's fucking late in the way especially when the weather's 0.91

00:35:52.180 bad and it's late what the fuck am i doing like why am i doing this initially yeah i get mad for like 0.98

00:35:57.880 the first five minutes then for like 30 minutes i go into like the zone and then the last five 0.99

00:36:02.760 minutes i'm like yeah fuck all these bitches man i fucking did this like it did yeah like 100 yeah 1.00

00:36:08.740 so i walked back in the house it's one o'clock in the morning and i'm like fucking fired up 1.00

00:36:13.440 and then i pass out yeah exactly and that's another thing dude is people don't realize you're doing so 0.59

00:36:18.880 much in a day you're winning you're winning every day you're doing so much that by the end of the day

00:36:23.140 dude you're beat yeah like you don't you're not thinking about drinking a beer you're not 1.00

00:36:26.680 thinking about eating a bad meal dude you just dominated that day you're dead you're dead ass 0.99

00:36:30.900 tired by the time by the time you lay down but um if we're being honest man the hardest part as far

00:36:36.760 as like the period wise um where i was at i really and i heard this on another podcast but i saw this 0.99

00:36:43.160 big time was uh that day 50 dude day 50 to like i don't know if it was 60 or like 58 maybe what my ass 0.99

00:36:51.200 dude i was there i knew i was gonna finish but i was like man this sucks those are the fucking dog days 0.99

00:36:55.820 dog days they are for sure it's because you're over the excitement of it and now it's a routine 0.98

00:37:00.940 and you're like but i still got to keep going and i've still got like 25 days left and it starts and

00:37:07.680 like dude you're sore you're fucking literally you're physically tired and that's where the most 0.95

00:37:12.040 i think the most growth i've done the program successfully seven times and i i get better every 0.97

00:37:19.280 single time like like no bullshit every time i do it i was looking back at my pictures of doing it uh 0.55

00:37:25.500 the first time i did it and i was comparing them to like my pictures like now i thought i was in 0.99

00:37:32.020 shape i'm like fuck dude i look like shit you know what i'm saying i remember posting that shit being 0.99

00:37:36.600 all proud of it too be like check this out but like every time i've gone through it i've uh i've gained 0.99

00:37:44.260 more and more and more but dude what's safe consistent with me is that that period of time 0.97

00:37:48.900 fucking sucks it's horrible yeah it sucks and and people don't understand it obviously if you 0.97

00:37:53.960 haven't done it but it's that it's a period where you're like all right i'm doing it i'm finishing 1.00

00:37:58.000 but at the same time that's when you got people low-key man that's when you got people thinking that

00:38:02.700 you're gonna fail yeah it's like that's kind of it's not my motivation but you got those same 0.90

00:38:07.000 people that came up to you in the beginning saying shit like this oh you're still doing that 1.00

00:38:10.660 oh you're still doing that 75 hard yeah motherfucker i'm still doing it because it's 0.99

00:38:15.020 like two months well hopefully at that point those people aren't in your life yeah no shit when you get 0.99

00:38:19.400 to day 50 and people are coming up to you or if they're coming coming up to you and giving you 0.97

00:38:24.040 shit then they obviously got nothing going on in their lives so they need a little you know 0.80

00:38:28.240 entertainment it's the equivalent of uh it's the equivalent of people that's that that i haven't 0.93

00:38:33.120 seen in a long time and don't really keep up with what's going on they don't do too much anymore but 0.98

00:38:36.880 you know five six years ago bro you still got that little vitamin store it's the same shit dude 0.99

00:38:42.700 oh dude it's like yeah motherfucker what do you think yeah you think yeah you see the way i'm living 0.99

00:38:48.280 come on now yeah um dude it's uh you know it's it's a weird time that those 10 days i don't know what 0.98

00:38:56.760 it is bro but like that those 10 days every time i've done the program brother it's there every day

00:39:03.720 is a literal test where i'm like fuck this i'm not doing and i do it because dude i always think 0.91

00:39:11.340 like i have failed a couple times but one time was intentional one time was not um i heard about 0.93

00:39:17.960 the intentional time with my dad oh no i thought one of them you said you like low-key wanted to

00:39:22.940 start over no well what happened was my dad flew out to vegas to surprise me when i was out there and 0.96

00:39:29.820 wanted to have some fucking beers but that's 75 years old i have some fucking yeah very few times 0.98

00:39:34.180 in your life that's it yeah i get that i get that that was one and then the other one uh was last 0.99

00:39:39.120 december and i literally had like a fucking physical breakdown where i got covid so i i had a problem

00:39:44.780 i had an injury then i got hurt or no i'm sorry i got hurt um then i got like i i went through this 0.77

00:39:52.600 period of like three days where i because i have insomnia where i didn't sleep at all and then my body

00:39:57.300 like fucking quit and then i got covid all right at the same time so that threw me off but i'm sure

00:40:02.300 once you got healthy you were back at it as soon as that yeah yeah but i mean like dude for me 0.96

00:40:06.540 it you know i i i i'm embarrassed to fail like i it wouldn't like even when i posted those two times

00:40:14.960 it was extremely embarrassing for me to say you know what i mean so and but you shared that though

00:40:20.060 you oh yeah what'd you do just put it on my story yeah yeah see i think i thought i think that's

00:40:24.340 super cool because a lot of people um they'll just fall off and that that was what i was like

00:40:29.440 almost worried about i was like if i don't finish then i'm just going to be a fraud man and people

00:40:34.140 are going to look at me and be like this dude's doing the same thing he was doing 10 years ago

00:40:37.440 and nothing changed yeah so i think that's pretty cool too especially because things are going to

00:40:42.440 happen man for sure life situations come up and it's okay to start over yeah um but just admit when

00:40:49.400 you fail and then my first day back in the gym after that covid i started back over like you know

00:40:55.600 what i'm saying a couple days after no no first day i was able to go back to the gym yeah after

00:41:00.460 being home for a couple weeks i was i was i was at it but dude like you know i think a big problem

00:41:08.300 that a lot of people have with the program with finishing is that they just they just started with

00:41:14.660 the wrong attitude you know they started with that attitude like they start every diet you know i

00:41:19.100 think if you listen close here i'm gonna give you one of the biggest keys to fixing this problem for

00:41:22.740 you guys a lot of people who struggle with their bodies and their fitness go back and forth and

00:41:27.000 back and forth and back and forth a lot of it has to do with their they don't have enough um they don't

00:41:31.960 have a big enough reason and it's just not important enough to them because they've never even most

00:41:36.700 of these people have never even really looked good i was never someone who looked fit so like i never

00:41:42.700 knew what it was like so it wasn't that important to me so every time i try to lose weight i didn't

00:41:46.700 really lose any weight because i didn't understand what it meant to be like when i was in shape you

00:41:51.060 see what i'm saying right so what clicked for me and i think this will resonate with a lot of you guys

00:41:55.800 is i started looking at it as a mental challenge i started looking at it as a mental test 0.69

00:42:02.600 and and you know i'm not a fucking punk dude like i got some mental fortitude and i take pride in 0.96

00:42:09.740 that in myself and i think everybody should i think everybody should take pride in the amount 0.54

00:42:13.340 of discipline that they have and when i switched the idea of i want to do of this program from like 0.65

00:42:20.820 just to lose weight or look better to i'm gonna fucking pass this mental test because i'm tough 0.95

00:42:26.300 and i'm badass and i'm gonna and i want to be i want to be stronger in that regard it made it way 0.97

00:42:32.180 easier to fucking stick to the food part because the food part for me and alcohol part for me is 0.89

00:42:36.100 always the hardest like um i love beer i love alcohol yeah you know and and i grew up in a 0.96

00:42:43.420 culture where you know we drink we're drinkers cincinnati's the same kind of place yeah i mean

00:42:49.900 it's you know it's a social thing man i mean it's not it's not a drink um for me at least it's not

00:42:54.760 like a drinking problem but it's like you're with no but like that's what you do right like what do 0.97

00:42:59.480 you do in cincinnati for fun bro you go to fucking bars and eat some greasy food man that's right 0.93

00:43:05.960 and uh no i mean and that's another thing that i didn't even really talk on is like uh at first 0.98

00:43:10.680 the alcohol was was difficult not to have a drink yeah for the first couple weeks but over time and

00:43:16.060 again when you're drinking a gallon of water a day and you're not drinking out alcohol at all

00:43:20.440 dude you feel oh incredible physically yeah and when you're doing a job that's physically demanding

00:43:25.720 manual labor like working for ups it helps man yeah oh yeah yeah so i gotta i got a quick funny

00:43:31.820 story to tell you real quick so uh tori basically made this like healthy tuna salad that was a part 0.98

00:43:36.800 of my meal plan and uh she was like showing me the ingredients she was cooking with because i had to

00:43:42.040 make sure i could eat it yeah condiments and everything yeah and so she has this like i think

00:43:46.100 it was like this dijon mustard and it said infused with white wine and uh i saw it and i was like

00:43:53.020 babe i can't i can't eat i can't eat this and immediately i mean she ended up eating it but uh

00:43:57.540 i was like dude that's how to the t man i bro that's how you have to be people what that's the

00:44:03.700 right way to be okay and like i if you if you've been using that sauce for the last 60 days and 0.96

00:44:12.920 you're listening to this show i don't give a fuck that's not the point but the point is is that we 0.94

00:44:19.200 should always err on the side of what the right thing to do is right and that's one of the beautiful 0.98

00:44:23.300 things about this program that when you do it right it starts to it starts to curve you and

00:44:28.920 bring you know because the program clearly like the way i think about about it and describe it as

00:44:34.880 you know is like it's kind of like madden right like you gotta you know the football game madden

00:44:38.740 yep and the guy's got like 99 speed 99 strength 99 uh ed smart right right like so all of those

00:44:47.740 levels are always changing in us and and because of what we put in our bodies in our minds those

00:44:53.120 levels are perishable skills just like uh lifting weights is a perishable thing right you don't lift

00:44:59.740 you're gonna lose some muscle that's if you lift you're gonna gain some muscle um just because you

00:45:04.720 lifted weights 16 years ago really has very little to do with you now so when we think about our skill

00:45:10.580 sets and our mental skill sets like uh you know discipline fortitude uh grit you know all of these

00:45:19.540 things that are that are related to the idea of being mentally tough right uh the ability to persevere

00:45:25.280 um all of these things they all come from us testing ourselves on a regular basis right they all come from

00:45:33.220 us passing these little bitty what we seem to think are insignificant tests in our real life and what

00:45:40.300 happens over time is our levels you know where at one point you know when we were at some point in

00:45:46.400 our life we probably had some higher levels they start to come down but they start to come down so

00:45:50.680 imperceptibly that we don't even notice it and then we end up you know in a place where we're like 0.93

00:45:55.600 looking in the mirror we're like fuck dude what happened to me right you know what i'm saying yeah and 0.96

00:46:00.680 people in our society tend to think that that's just natural it's natural like you hit a peak 0.96

00:46:08.480 and then you just start to fade down and then you get old right and i just don't think that's the

00:46:14.540 case at all i i'm a firm believer that those things are 100 uh skill sets that you can invest in and

00:46:21.400 develop and create if you do things that create them i had a guitar teacher once tell and this is

00:46:27.320 something that has stuck with me for a long time in life because i'm not a patient person bro i'm not

00:46:32.600 either yeah i'm a fucking like right now yep you know i'm saying and like dude it's a great thing for 0.96

00:46:36.880 like business but it's sometimes my people hate me because i'm like no bro right now like right now 0.93

00:46:43.640 yeah and and so i'm like that with everything and i had a guitar teacher tell me you know because

00:46:48.620 playing guitar dude is is a really difficult thing to learn um he said andy you know you don't have 0.77

00:46:57.340 any patience at all and i'm like yeah i'm aware bro like teach me this shit you know and then i need 0.96

00:47:03.340 to learn now yeah i want to be able to play some shit right now bro free bird let's go you know 0.98

00:47:08.180 that's crazy you say that because my uh my dad's a great guitar player he's a musician and uh i grew 0.90

00:47:13.580 up trying to learn bass yeah and people would ask me they'd be like why don't you play guitar this and

00:47:18.520 that i said the same exact thing i was like dude i'm not patient enough yeah and that's okay well he

00:47:22.520 said it is and because it's a good thing to be impatient sometimes right and i think the older we

00:47:27.360 get urgency man that's right the older that we get we learn where to apply that urgency

00:47:31.660 urgency and where we need to apply patience and you know for me growing up it was always urgency

00:47:36.900 urgency urgency urgency which has kind of fucked me up now because now i'm always intense but the 0.88

00:47:42.780 thing he said to me that stuck with me was he say well you know how you develop patience don't you and

00:47:47.600 i said well no and he goes well you got to do things that require patience and that always stuck

00:47:52.200 with me dude and i started i i let that simmer for like almost a decade in my life like what like what

00:47:59.520 does he mean like you could create patience by doing things that are patient well if you create

00:48:03.600 patience by doing things that are patient you could create discipline by doing things that require

00:48:07.520 discipline you can create fortitude by requiring things that that that that require fortitude you

00:48:13.040 could create all of these different skill sets by just doing the things no different than us going

00:48:18.240 to the gym and lifting weights well and that's that's what 75 hard is i mean when you're when you're

00:48:22.220 doing it's the first program ever to help with that side of with that side of life right when you when

00:48:28.180 you're dealing with that grit mindset of doing the same thing over and over again to improve for your

00:48:33.600 own self-development over time you'll start to realize that you do get a little bit more patient

00:48:38.740 with certain aspects of your life and again you know knowing the difference between what needs to

00:48:42.880 be urgent helps you bring what needs to be i think awareness right like like i think the way to

00:48:48.140 describe what both of us are talking about is almost like it just makes you more aware exactly for me

00:48:53.700 yeah it continues to do for me like what i thought i was awareness like two years ago

00:48:58.060 was not aware you know what i'm saying not even close yeah and like what's what's fucked up about 0.96

00:49:03.080 it bro too at least in my point of view is like for me i actually feel dumber now than i felt two

00:49:10.680 years ago even though i'm much more successful now than i was two years ago and it's because of the

00:49:16.480 ultra crazy awareness that living a disciplined lifestyle like that creates yep you know i start to 1.00

00:49:23.320 realize fuck dude you expose yourself man yeah you you you talked all that shit you really didn't 1.00

00:49:27.280 know anything you know that's good that's real growth though man for sure that's self-development 1.00

00:49:31.420 that's what that's what all this is about or what at least it should be for the most part but you

00:49:35.840 know it is man it is and and i think you know the physical i think you'll agree with this too 0.99

00:49:40.120 because bro you look like a fucking model like like guys he's this dude is fucking chiseled out 0.99

00:49:44.760 of fucking granite okay um but as cool as that is it doesn't it doesn't even compare to the 1.00

00:49:52.020 other shit that you gain out of this in my opinion yeah i mean i i honestly to between you and me and 0.99

00:49:58.060 all the listeners i didn't even have i didn't even have like a physical goal between you and me and a 0.93

00:50:03.040 couple million other people between you and me and everyone else but i i didn't have uh basically i

00:50:08.500 didn't have like a certain goal of like losing weight i knew that if i was going to drink gallon

00:50:12.140 of water work out twice a day you'd be ripped i'd be i'd be ripped yeah i'd be healthy i'd be feeling

00:50:16.620 a lot better yeah and that was way more important to me overall feeling better and then having that

00:50:21.160 better mental attitude um then uh transformation picture you come from an athletic background

00:50:26.260 yeah for the most part i'd say i have i have two other brothers um i grew up playing every sport

00:50:33.260 you could think of my dad was really good at uh baseball um i mean for the most part yeah pretty

00:50:40.380 athletic but i've always man i've been working out since i was 16 i used to be a long distance runner i

00:50:45.900 ran a half marathon when i was in the sixth grade so i've always yeah i've always enjoyed doing

00:50:50.280 things as weird as it sounds like i started running 5ks when i was i think my first 5k i was

00:50:55.900 in like third grade or something that's cool so you're one of those kids you're one of those kids

00:50:59.640 that we see at the 5ks that are like real little running the fucking 5k yeah all right and the 0.92

00:51:04.240 crazy thing is is like uh probably 15 days into uh 75 hard i hadn't ran a race in like 0.92

00:51:09.800 probably 10 years man and i did a uh i did a trail run and i finished in like exactly 45 minutes

00:51:16.540 and it was my outdoor workout because it's 45 minutes yeah and it was a 5.6 miles and i had

00:51:21.340 some like tory was there i had some 14 year old kick my ass he completely whooped me but it was the 0.95

00:51:27.100 first time i did it and again that's one of those things where i got out of my comfort zone and 0.95

00:51:30.880 i knew being 170 pounds i was like i haven't ran in a while but i'm gonna do something that you know

00:51:36.500 is gonna make me um uncomfortable to grow so i brought tory on she's been sitting here the whole 1.00

00:51:42.580 time listening to the conversation sort of nodding along chiming in a little bit here and there

00:51:47.560 what what do you think the biggest change like from your point of view what is the biggest changes

00:51:52.380 with josiah been through that program i think that he i don't know he was like he kept asking me he's

00:52:00.840 like do you really think i can do this do you really think i can do this and i was like yes

00:52:04.080 i was like because if you say that you're going to do something then you're going to do it

00:52:07.380 and i'm going to be in your ear like listen no like you're you have to stick to it um but he i

00:52:14.540 feel like he gained a lot of patience a lot of confidence in himself he had buddies that were like

00:52:20.500 oh you're crazy we bet i bet you that you can you can't make it a week and then i bet i bet you 20

00:52:26.640 bucks that he can do it for 20 days and she's making money off me there you go so i'm like no 0.97

00:52:33.300 like you're not you're not right exactly so um i think that he just like dug really deep in himself

00:52:39.780 and he learned that he's got like a lot more in him than what he thought yeah he certainly doesn't

00:52:47.580 you certainly aren't lacking confidence bro and that's a good that's a compliment it's a great

00:52:51.340 thing when the thing comes it's i picked it up when we were in the gym and you walk through

00:52:55.560 like i appreciate that 100 like it was very that means a lot that it does dude well i was gonna say

00:53:02.080 like uh before i got invited because honestly when emily reached out and sent me an email i thought

00:53:08.680 somebody was pranking me dude i was like this dude doesn't even doesn't know me from adam i can be a

00:53:13.060 crazy person and the fact that like he brought me out here if i would have been invited out here for

00:53:18.480 a reason other than 75 hard without doing 75 hard i don't think i would have came out here well

00:53:23.300 because my confidence level has just been that it built my confidence no bro level your confidence

00:53:28.540 was so strong that you reached out to me and said and we just exactly and said hey i want to be on

00:53:33.460 the show bro i felt that through the way that you communicated to me and i'm like this is a guy i

00:53:38.280 want on the show that's what's up you know i'm saying i was talking to paulo one of the girls that uh

00:53:42.540 that works here uh earlier and we were talking a little bit about that because you walked through

00:53:47.700 that's who i was talking to when you walked up we were talking about some work shit and uh she was 0.98

00:53:51.900 like who's that and i said well he's he's here for 75 hard podcast and she's like okay well what's the 0.90

00:53:56.800 story i said i don't even know and she goes dude she goes you had him on the show you don't know

00:54:01.700 his story i'm like no i don't need to know because everybody you know that says oh i got a good story

00:54:07.740 and this and that it was just the way you communicated it to me that i knew that you had

00:54:12.680 done the program well and kind of going off that this is going to be a real quick does that make sense

00:54:16.800 yeah like it was so direct and so confident that i was like all right i want to hear from this guy

00:54:20.940 well that's what i said because because going into a quick little story off that so basically i was

00:54:25.140 halfway through uh 75 hard i had a buddy who i knew that i wasn't friends with and i followed

00:54:30.560 him on social media um his name's austin theese and he's a fellow listener of yours obviously but

00:54:36.460 basically i hit him up i was like dude if you want to do cardio let's do cardio whatever if you want

00:54:40.680 to lift let's lift so we're doing cardio um at this track and i basically told him i was like dude i

00:54:45.440 have this voice in my head telling me i need to go on real af and tell my story and i'm dead serious

00:54:51.920 and uh immediately after i said that i'm like dude like there's no way i'm getting on this show

00:54:57.340 dude there's thousands of people whatever and as soon as i said that i'm like it's so weird as soon

00:55:01.560 as i said that i was like he immediately said austin said he's like dude you can't think that way he's

00:55:06.180 like what the hell are you doing and uh basically i caught myself right away and i was like you're 0.51

00:55:11.880 right dude like i need to i need to attack this like i need to actually try to do this because

00:55:16.580 something is telling me i need to be on the show and then i finished the 75th day and uh i told

00:55:21.880 tori the next day i was like i want to be on the show like i gotta i gotta talk about what happened

00:55:26.480 and uh basically i posted that picture and you shared it and i called tori i'm like like yo like

00:55:34.640 he shared this like this and that and then i'm like i'm yeah i was like i was like i'm gonna ask him

00:55:39.780 if i could be on the show and so i mess i'm like i'm gonna message him message you and you're like

00:55:44.000 send me your info and i was like is somebody messing with me now and then like two three

00:55:47.940 weeks later i'm at work and they're like um i get that email from emily and i'm like

00:55:52.160 i just i was just like bro that's so weird because the truth here's the truth and this i believe in

00:55:58.120 everything that you believe in too by the way like i i'm 100 percent yeah manifestation you know

00:56:04.200 that i talk about it all the time what's weird is like i'm on the receiving end of that with this

00:56:09.480 because i don't ever say yes like that like like there's never been someone who said hey i want to

00:56:16.380 be on the show and i'm like okay the only other person was the guy i just had on the show which was

00:56:21.280 uh billy who was uh uh a guy who's running for office up in new jersey we talked about some politics

00:56:28.380 and shit uh awesome dude but he he's the only other one that asked and i said yes but but i said 0.80

00:56:37.920 yes to you before i said yes to him because this has been a while in the making so you're actually 0.69

00:56:41.220 the first person i ever said yes to like that and so it's i'm sitting here thinking because like

00:56:46.000 normally because i'll get these people you know they want to come on the show for like some clout

00:56:49.960 right like they want to come on and get some exposure to something and so i'm always like no i

00:56:54.540 gotta i i really like to pick them myself and you're the first guy that's ever reached out

00:56:58.700 and be like hey bro i i want to share this with you i want to be on the show and i'm like okay

00:57:03.200 and like it was that easy wasn't it i mean it's just another reason yeah why my god's real dude

00:57:08.440 and that's that's no it's weird but i'm just saying like you saying that it was literally a

00:57:13.680 voice in my head dude and then and then throughout 75 hard i would have conversations of like the only

00:57:18.040 thing i really regret is not keeping like a journal yeah of just like my thoughts like my day-to-day

00:57:22.640 thoughts see i did that the first time i went yeah so all the listeners out there um when you start

00:57:27.940 75 hard 100 take notes on everything all your thoughts your actions um because you definitely

00:57:34.940 won't regret it when you're done but basically um yeah man i just i had this thing in my ear and i

00:57:41.220 was like dude i got nothing to lose this dude probably has thousands of people hitting him up

00:57:44.560 worst he's gonna say is no yeah and i don't have i'm not i'm not trying to get clout man i'm not

00:57:49.320 looking for i'm a ups trial i'm just a regular dude i'm i'm just a regular dude who who had a voice

00:57:55.540 of my head telling me to share my story and that's it well bro you're not a regular dude you're

00:57:59.960 an exceptional dude i appreciate it yeah and i appreciate the fact that you came out to tell

00:58:03.640 your story what would you say to somebody okay this is going to go out on sunday so uh you know

00:58:08.660 i'm starting to do trying to do daily content now so um and we will do daily content but we're we're

00:58:15.260 easing our way into it what would you say to someone who's thinking about it right now they're

00:58:19.280 listening it's sunday and they're you know tomorrow it's like okay i'll start tomorrow what would you

00:58:23.640 say to those people i'd keep it pretty simple man um 75 days flies by um there won't be one regret

00:58:32.720 uh that you'll have after you're done with the 75 days and i'm telling you right now there won't be

00:58:38.660 one event or certain thing that you had scheduled prior that involves something outside of what

00:58:44.760 needed to be done for 75 hard that you're going to miss out on man like every doing the 75 days is

00:58:50.920 just going to outweigh everything that you have going on that you had initially planned for that

00:58:54.220 75 days so just keep that in mind and again if you quit start or if you something happens start

00:59:00.900 from day one but don't ever don't quit at all yeah and make yourself get through it right yeah see it

00:59:06.680 through man because uh it's been one of the the biggest things biggest decisions i've ever made and

00:59:11.560 one of the best accomplishment accomplishments that i've ever had in my entire life man i'm 28 years old

00:59:17.580 and uh yeah i mean it's it's amazing like the feeling you have when you're in the middle of 75

00:59:25.000 hard and you're just having those conversations with yourself and you have that mental clarity

00:59:30.260 is one of the best feelings in the world it's it's a high that you can't you can't explain man for real

00:59:36.180 yeah and uh you'll feel it like if you do it you'll feel it yeah and um so yeah i mean if you're

00:59:42.640 starting tomorrow get after it um my suggestion would be don't overthink it um know what you have

00:59:49.020 to do definitely listen to the podcast if you have and i'm sure you have if you're listening to this

00:59:52.740 one um but get after man don't worry about thanksgiving don't worry about christmas don't

00:59:58.000 worry about a friend's birthday i went to a zach brown band concert during it you're hitting on a

01:00:04.200 point now that's super important to talk about so i want you to talk about this because what it does

01:00:09.900 is is it teaches you how to enjoy life without alcohol 100 and food and that's what exactly yeah

01:00:15.680 that's exactly what i was about to hit on so i did a zach brown band concert i went to um in cincinnati

01:00:21.720 obviously didn't drink had a great time remembered the concert uh most people probably don't um and

01:00:28.760 then i did a uh believe it or not i went to a bachelor party didn't drink everybody there was super 0.98

01:00:35.420 supportive about it they're like hey man that's cool what you're doing um but you still had fucking 0.97

01:00:40.340 fun yeah man played cornhole it was just hung out with some buddies wasn't anything crazy it was just

01:00:45.300 one of my buddies house um and then uh the last the craziest thing is the last day i don't know if

01:00:50.980 you know theo vaughn the comedian yeah yeah yeah so he was a dude's hilarious dude he's in cincinnati

01:00:56.320 um on day 75 and so i worked that day so basically that last uh day was day 75 it was a

01:01:05.220 saturday i woke up worked out went to work busted my ass because i knew i had to go to that concert 0.88

01:01:11.540 didn't know what time i was going to get off went home did my second workout and then met up at a 0.90

01:01:17.400 buddy's uh downtown in cincinnati to basically walk to this comedy show or whatever you have on

01:01:22.700 and uh they're like offering me beers and everything's done except for my reading yeah

01:01:27.880 still gotta get my reading done yeah i'm on day 75 so i know i'm not gonna have a beer all this

01:01:31.800 yeah so um basically they're like offering me beers they're offering me skyline chili and all this 0.81

01:01:38.160 if you know what skyline is from cincinnati it's the fucking best chili in the world bro dangerous 0.94

01:01:43.100 dude dangerous to say no to skyline is not easy so basically uh went to the show drank like a 0.89

01:01:49.980 sparkling water or something um ended up being the dd for some of my buddies they got home safe

01:01:55.400 yeah went home um i think i had some like oatmeal and then for my last meal oatmeal or something like

01:02:02.160 that and then read my book man took my picture and woke up the next day and was done dude and i was

01:02:07.100 like again you know kind of going off off topic there but basically you can do things um sober man

01:02:12.660 and you're gonna have you're gonna have a good time and i think that's a huge point that is a huge

01:02:16.640 point like dude i that was my fear man that was honestly a big fear of mine like i got this coming

01:02:21.420 up i got this coming up i got this coming up um but people see that man and they they respect that

01:02:26.380 a lot they're like man you've changed in a good way but you respect it a lot too oh yeah because then

01:02:31.260 you leave the event and it's a it's a win like you leave like dude listen i think you and i probably 0.98

01:02:37.040 have a lot of common like sounds like we do the same social activities the same kind of shit 0.99

01:02:42.400 when i pass on those events from indulging when i leave and i'm driving away i'm like fuck yeah 0.97

01:02:49.040 like that's the mental voice that starts to happen in my head instead of like where before i wouldn't 0.60

01:02:54.940 have noticed it and i probably would have had to justify it right because before i started i'd be 0.99

01:03:00.340 like oh yeah i'm on the program but you know fuck dude it's it's fucking zach brown bro like you 1.00

01:03:05.300 know i'm saying or it's bachelor party or whatever and then you know that was when i would bite the 1.00

01:03:11.180 bullet and then the next day i would feel like dog shit which would then lower my belief in myself 0.98

01:03:15.600 lower my confidence in myself uh lower my ability to trust myself you know and all of these key 0.98

01:03:22.180 things they're so important to being a healthy human right you know what i mean and uh i i dude i think

01:03:28.920 that point um of being able to go through life because a lot of people think oh dude you got to skip all 0.85

01:03:35.740 this shit if you're skipping the shit you're doing it wrong go to the events live your life 0.97

01:03:40.780 that means you're dependent on that's right on alcohol to have a good time bro what i discovered 1.00

01:03:45.160 too especially my first time through because i what i my routine before uh 75 hard was typically

01:03:52.420 uh emily and i would go and then like a lot of the guys here too we would go hang out at this

01:03:58.440 little bar up the street called billy g's uh awesome place by the way love these guys um saturday

01:04:05.120 and sunday sometimes we'd be there for fucking five six hours we'll go there for brunch and you know 0.90

01:04:09.560 brunch turns into like drinking beers all day go home at like three in the afternoon and you're 0.99

01:04:14.040 fucking you know and now and then you eat some shit at night been there brother yeah bro and that's 0.99

01:04:18.060 what we that's what i'm saying dude i can tell we're the same kind of dude the um 1.00

01:04:22.160 the the ability so i didn't stop doing that like now i don't do it as much because now i've

01:04:30.180 replaced that with other things that i enjoy um but when i was doing it when i started doing bros i would

01:04:37.780 the way i kind of started it because i had problems like not drinking a beer in that situation

01:04:43.240 i also had problems not ordering uh exactly the food that i needed to order right like a lot of

01:04:48.960 people think you can't eat healthy on this program anywhere else no you can order anything you want

01:04:53.880 to order almost anywhere that's right they'll make it for you yep uh or you can find a real option

01:04:59.400 that fits in your meal plan at most places there it's just the reality i tend to know now i know what

01:05:05.640 i'm ordering before i even go to the place now and there's no i don't even look at the menu i'm

01:05:09.280 the same way yeah it's just i know what i'm getting but before like when i was first starting

01:05:13.920 the program i had these agonizing tests right like i would go to brunch and everybody's ordering

01:05:20.520 fucking beers at 10 30 well guess what i like beers at 10 30 you know what i'm saying i'm that 0.99

01:05:25.640 motherfucker i do too yeah yeah 100 so that was a hard thing for me because i really do like beer 0.99

01:05:32.180 early in the morning like that i know that sounds weird to people that that's not weird man it's a 0.98

01:05:36.800 midwest thing it's not weird and so like i started replacing with just coffee or decaf coffee and it

01:05:43.520 was almost like it weaned me off of it because like dude you can't really just guzzle coffee right

01:05:48.400 you're taking like little sips i mean you're in a social gathering yeah but what i realized dude is

01:05:52.540 i had so much better conversations and so much more fun and laugh so much more when i wasn't drinking

01:05:57.900 than when i was and i started to not even then i went away from coffee and i just went to water

01:06:02.560 and now i'm perfectly comfortable sitting with anybody even if they're drinking all day

01:06:06.420 with me just drinking my water chilling and you know bullshitting with them right so it's weird how 0.82

01:06:11.820 and now now dude sometimes i'll choose to drink but you know it's not like we're a lot of the times

01:06:19.000 like you said in the beginning of the show where these other influences were come in and uh sort of make

01:06:26.020 you compromise what you know you needed to do because you wanted to please the group right 0.76

01:06:29.720 and and now i'm thinking about this shit and it kind of makes sense as to why i'm so resistant to 0.99

01:06:35.140 this fucking narrative that's going on in the world right now because i don't have to fucking i don't 0.99

01:06:39.700 peer pressure doesn't work on me anymore right you're past that point dude that makes a lot of sense 0.99

01:06:44.780 because i'm there's a breakthrough dude yeah dude no for real because i'm sitting here thinking like 0.99

01:06:49.080 what i was just talking to some guys this morning why the fuck do i talk so much about this shit 0.99

01:06:53.580 and you know what it is it's because i'm not fucking i'm not a bitch bro you're not going to 1.00

01:06:58.380 pressure me into changing what the fuck i'm doing and that's the first step it comes from this it's 0.99

01:07:02.880 75 hard dude it's crazy dude yeah because i've always been that better band 75 hard then because 0.93

01:07:08.940 it's making free thinkers everywhere dude it's crazy yeah because yeah i've but you know i'm saying

01:07:14.060 though yeah so like now you now i'm comfortable in those situations and not only am i comfortable

01:07:18.600 i enjoy them more you're genuinely happy yes yeah and that's that's yeah that's super cool man

01:07:23.960 because a lot of people would sit there and be like struggling like oh i need alcohol i need this

01:07:29.660 to have a good time but yeah to be able to sit there man and listen to a show or have a conversation

01:07:34.900 with somebody whatever it might be yeah is uh that's big man yeah well bro this is this has been

01:07:40.280 an awesome conversation man uh i really appreciate you guys making the trip out for this dude i appreciate 0.89

01:07:45.160 you fucking reaching out and having some initiative dude i respect the fuck out of that 0.98

01:07:48.980 that's what you get man you grow some balls with 75 hard i'm dead serious yeah and and don't don't all 0.99

01:07:53.400 you guys start telling me you want to be on the show because i'm gonna say fucking no there was 0.99

01:09:43.980 no the proper attitude is i'm gonna fucking dominate the next 75 days like i've never dominated before 0.99
