00:00:00.000 what's up guys i'm sal for selling you're listening to the show for the realists say 0.99

00:00:16.860 goodbye to the lies the fakeness and delusions of modern society and welcome to motherfucking 0.97

00:00:23.280 reality what's going on ladies and gentlemen new voice new mic new you no how was it it's 0.98

00:00:29.860 okay all right got the got the the sign of affirmation for my my two helpers here my two

00:00:35.620 homies juicy joe madot not so juicy hey guys what's going on it's sal for selling obviously

00:00:43.300 not andy andy it's weird calling him andy i call him andrew everybody always thinks that's like 0.94

00:00:47.880 like who like andrew who andy you know that fucking guy my brother i don't know everybody 0.99

00:00:55.360 thinks that's like the biggest thing in the world like why do you call him andrew because that's 0.91

00:00:58.220 his name andrew hey we uh we uh wanted to bring you guys as you can see the last couple episodes

00:01:06.300 trying to bring value and we recognize on the long episodes although the topics are extremely

00:01:10.940 relevant in today's society we wanted to to bring you as much value as we can as a group of

00:01:17.840 individuals and as a podcast and you know being real af like trying to provide real value to your

00:01:23.540 life whether it's personal professional uh being a dad being a husband uh business experience

00:01:29.600 leadership experience we just want to make sure that as a group we're providing as much value as

00:01:33.600 possible and so we decided to do some clips i i uh i'm a story guy i'm a lesson guy and one of the

00:01:41.460 things that i take a great deal of pride in is is always sharing stories with my team and

00:01:45.200 and and trying to to help develop them through my lessons and and usually failures and you know we

00:01:53.180 thought that you know hey maybe maybe you guys would like it and so any feedback that you guys

00:01:58.180 have like shares even if it's bad feedback shoot it to me let's see what you think but hopefully uh

00:02:02.340 hopefully i i hold my weight here and providing value and having a little fun together but uh you

00:02:07.740 know something that's important to me is is that legacy and sharing stories and bringing value and

00:02:12.720 and hopefully i can add value to your life through a little business education with this one and

00:02:16.360 this is going to be we refer to this around here or with my staff i always we always quick line it

00:02:23.460 is called god bless this average house and god bless this average house is is a is a funny story

00:02:28.820 one for the ages at least for me and it it's it's a lesson around you never quite know exactly who

00:02:34.900 you're talking to and you need to be extremely careful because we live in a in a society where

00:02:39.200 information travels extremely fast and you never quite know where that information is going and so

00:02:44.420 you know through this story i'd like to teach you a couple maybe not just business lessons but life

00:02:50.520 lessons and one of those is going to be word of mouth marketing and and how important or how

00:02:55.560 detrimental it can be to your business secondarily you know never quite know exactly who you're talking

00:03:01.140 to so it's extremely important to make sure that you treat every individual with class and

00:03:06.200 character and respect uh and thirdly if you want drama in the world you want drama in your life

00:03:12.720 the world will give you exactly what you put into it so if you put drama into the world

00:03:17.180 be will be ready for it to give you a little bit of drama so be careful what you wish for

00:03:21.040 and so i share with you this story we as a group at first form uh are very very very tight-knit

00:03:27.360 community um specifically here at corporate um furthermore our family whether that's you know

00:03:33.400 andrew and i being brothers my dad my mom chris uh our business partner our network is extremely

00:03:39.320 tight and we are very loyal to one another and this isn't it's not that that network is unique

00:03:43.920 it's that the importance of making sure you tap into good networks and take care of those networks

00:03:49.520 is the lesson that i'd like to share with you and so we used to uh all share the same cake lady

00:03:56.120 as weird as that sounds and a cake lady for those of you who don't know 1.00

00:03:59.660 is somebody who makes these highly decorative cakes and we try to make really cool cakes at all

00:04:05.060 our events so that we have you know it's like one of those things that the differences in the details

00:04:09.460 and the cakes are always designed to be some type of conversation piece and we had a great cake lady

00:04:16.160 she really was she was she she made unbelievably um awesome tasting cakes but the visual aspect of

00:04:22.500 them was amazing as well and they were always points of conversation so whether we were having a

00:04:27.160 birthday party for the kids whether we were having a special event here at at hq or maybe it was our

00:04:33.840 banquet for our entire company we always had this cake lady you know uh have a piece whether it was 1.00

00:04:39.780 cupcakes or cakes just a decoration because there were always topic starters and so one time we had a

00:04:45.720 i believe it was father's day and it was at my house and um so we had ordered a cake just like

00:04:51.680 usual and um you know cake lady dropped off the cake and you know set it in set it on our kitchen 1.00

00:04:58.140 island walked in the house you know walked around to buy you know whatever and i walked back outside

00:05:03.420 i was icing down the beers i'll never forget i was i was running a power washer and my wife had just this 1.00

00:05:08.900 look she was beelining towards me and i thought uh-oh what did i do and she had her phone in her hand 1.00

00:05:14.580 and she's like read this text and i'll never forget it the text said and i'm paraphrasing but it's pretty

00:05:23.580 close to this hey girl i just left sal and raquel's house and it's nothing like andrew and emily's house

00:05:31.860 it's it's a normal house there's nothing really special i had the opportunity to go inside

00:05:37.500 and you know it's just a plain house right and i remember thinking like instantly like this kind of

00:05:44.300 rage because if you follow me on instagram at all like i take a great deal of pride in my especially

00:05:48.940 like my yard and my house and this house for me has a great deal of character and although it's not

00:05:53.820 like this huge mansion it's it's still my home and you know we we have you know slowly over time

00:06:00.940 rehabbed our home into you know what i would like to think is where we're going to raise our

00:06:04.880 where we're raising our family and something it's a dream home for us and and i remember like i got

00:06:08.760 pissed fuck this gal and you know and i read the text again and then raquel wrote back right then 1.00

00:06:16.060 she's like excuse me question mark and it was really funny at that point because you knew that the 1.00

00:06:21.040 dance was on right bubble up bubble down bubble up bubble down bubble up bubble down pause you know

00:06:27.020 and now we're sitting there now it's like now we're gonna watch you know bubble up bubble down

00:06:31.620 bubble up bubble down and after like i don't know five minutes or ten minutes it was a long time

00:06:36.580 text came firing back across and it had some like weak ass excuse it was like oh my god sorry i sent 0.73

00:06:44.220 that to the wrong person funny thing is we actually have a brother and sister-in-law with named sal and

00:06:50.260 raquel and i'm saying oh you do you know like i don't know any other sal's and i don't i know like

00:06:54.440 i've met like one other raquel and you just happen to have a brother and sister-in-law also named sal

00:06:58.500 raquel i get the fuck out of here and uh so raquel wrote back he's like i'm sorry that my our house 0.97

00:07:05.880 is average and doesn't live up to your standards but it's our home and we take a great deal of pride 0.75

00:07:09.160 in it and you know we left it from there and then i screen you know screenshot it sent it to myself

00:07:13.720 and then i you know immediately i'm like all right because i start getting mad but i think all right

00:07:17.100 well how can i i try not to bring drama into the world but i also want to make sure like you know 0.99

00:07:23.240 this message is sent and you know obviously the first thing i want to do is tell her to fuck off 1.00

00:07:28.500 right but i'm i'm i don't do that shit so i got to work and my my value was like i'm gonna get to 0.99

00:07:35.440 work and i'm gonna let everybody know she ain't our cake lady no more like homegirl just she just 0.99

00:07:40.820 dropped the ball fumble and um you know so i went to work i first thing i did is sent over to my brother

00:07:45.840 and you can see it bubble up bubble down bubble up little down you know the bear was out he was coming 1.00

00:07:49.360 and he's like oh fuck her you know fucking house is average like what the fuck you know and so 1.00

00:07:52.980 but i mean he's protected over me in that sense right and i was pissed and you know but i wanted 1.00

00:07:57.740 him to know and of course then you know he tells emily and emily tells her girlfriends right

00:08:02.080 and i texted over aaron summers here at hqs hey we need to find a new cake lady 1.00

00:08:06.280 right aaron's my guy handles a lot of a lot of events here guess what aaron we're not using her

00:08:12.720 anymore roger that no problem cut her out of our events well we had like 10 people coming over

00:08:18.300 okay father's day guess what i did threw the cake away why i want to have a good story to tell my 0.98

00:08:27.020 10 people see the cake in the trash that's because our cake lady was talking shit on us so guess what 1.00

00:08:32.260 it became a topic of conversation well these people are my network too it's my mother-in-law 0.97

00:08:35.560 father-in-law my sister-in-law all these people use the same cake lady because we've turned them on to 1.00

00:08:39.480 her and it was a talking point and it was you know it's it's a funny story right in the grand

00:08:44.800 scheme of things a little pissed but so a little vindictive in a sense like i'm gonna make sure

00:08:47.760 everybody knows a real story and uh you know here's this lady you know who who was talking a 1.00

00:08:54.800 little shit on us and she got caught slipping and so i was going to make sure that everybody knew that 0.74

00:08:58.180 i that people that i had referred to her which is my entire friend network they were going to know 0.98

00:09:04.200 how she treated me which is you know and and i think this is the value of a network too it's

00:09:08.720 another lesson and you know good bad or indifferent if your people are loyal to you they will follow

00:09:13.780 you up the hill down the hill into the water into the snow it doesn't matter and so you know i was

00:09:18.240 going to make sure that i was calling these people let me know how you know how she treated myself and 0.99

00:09:21.720 my family and you know so to take that a step further the you know instantly what happens

00:09:29.580 well we're not going to stop having events you know we don't have stop having kids birthdays and

00:09:35.360 you know mother's day and father's day we had to go find a new cake lady and you know and this is

00:09:41.540 this is one of the lessons in word of mouth like word of mouth can be bad or it can be great

00:09:46.200 and we sought after there's a plug shameless plug lindsey over at cake house design here in st 1.00

00:09:54.460 louis missouri makes she's our new cake lady and the reason she's our new cake lady is because our 0.99

00:09:59.740 first cake lady talked shit on me and now we have lindsey who not only makes a better cake than the 1.00

00:10:05.260 original cake lady she treats us with the utmost of respect and you know she has become a part of our 0.97

00:10:11.180 network here at first form supplement super stores our family all of our friends their families and

00:10:17.080 guess what now all our friends are having kids so here's more kids cakes guess what when i now i feel 0.96

00:10:21.960 obligated whenever we have a kid's birthday party i'm gonna put that shit on instagram and i'm gonna 0.97

00:10:25.860 tell a little bit of the story or tag her and show her because i appreciate it and so the lessons here 0.94

00:10:31.180 are really what i would like to think pretty clear but let's start with word of mouth and how important

00:10:36.440 it is like in the grand scheme of things like how imperative word of mouth marketing can be to

00:10:41.680 either building your business but how imperative it can be to destroying your business and and i think

00:10:46.560 you know we live in a time now that's so much different than it was like in 1850 right word of

00:10:52.480 mouth still worked and it was still equally as important but with as fast as information travels

00:10:57.500 in today's world it happens like this i mean it happens in an instant and back in the 1850s you know

00:11:03.140 it took you a while right so if you had great interactions over time it took you a while but 0.99

00:11:07.660 you can build your business and you could insulate it but if you treated your customers like shit again 0.98

00:11:11.120 it just took a while for people to experience and and you ultimately have the same result but in 0.97

00:11:17.300 today's world it's different and in this case it happens in a text message and you got to think how 0.98

00:11:22.700 much business that lady lost in one fucking cent text she fucked her entire business up 1.00

00:11:30.560 and you think how hard and how many cakes she's made to get us to a point you know where we were 0.99

00:11:36.860 all ordering for me she had to deliver a hundred two hundred three hundred great products and it all 0.93

00:11:43.560 went away in one fucking push of a button one so you think you know how fast negative word of mouth 0.93

00:11:50.440 travels in today's world it's fucking instant and so you need to make sure that you are not only 0.99

00:11:56.920 fucking crossing your t's and dotting your i's but you need to learn to care about your customers 0.98

00:12:00.840 and i think that bleeds right into lesson two is you never quite know who you're talking to 0.99

00:12:06.540 and that person that you're interacting with that person just may be the person that you 0.90

00:12:11.600 that controls the destiny to your fucking future of business and you probably don't want to talk 0.99

00:12:17.700 fucking shit on them and although i might not live in the biggest house in the whole motherfucking world 1.00

00:12:22.520 i just may be the fucking glue that holds the network together and when she shit on me 1.00

00:12:27.580 she shit on her network and it's a great lesson to make sure that you treat all of your customers 0.99

00:12:33.280 with respect not your best customers you treat you all of your customers with the utmost respect 0.99

00:12:38.400 and understanding that that's their hard-earned money that they are choosing to spend with you

00:12:42.940 and they have a choice whether to spend it with you or whether to spend it with someone else and

00:12:48.600 it's gonna that decision is gonna be made based off of the interaction that they have with you

00:12:53.220 in this case i had a bunch of great interactions but i had one really shitty one she insulted the 1.00

00:12:59.900 pride and joy of my life which was my home where i plan to raise my family something i take a great

00:13:06.140 deal of pride in that one text message took it all away the third lesson you need to be real

00:13:14.500 careful what you put into the universe and i think in a in a whether you believe in law of

00:13:20.940 attraction or not law of attraction is real you know what you believe what you put in the energy

00:13:26.820 the positivity if you put that into the world you you'll get it back and then it's not saying you

00:13:31.700 just wish for it but i'm saying you got to work for it and be genuine and intentful and understanding

00:13:35.740 that you got to care about people if you want them to care about you and you got to show them the

00:13:39.000 love if you want to receive the love and in this case if you want drama you give it drama and 0.97

00:13:44.420 guess what it's going to give you right back a little bit of motherfucking drama and although 0.93

00:13:49.220 i'm not a drama player in the sense like i'm not going to go back in the tick for tack 0.99

00:13:52.260 but she gave us a little bit of bullshit oh the world's going to return the favor of a little bit 1.00

00:13:59.180 of bullshit and i think the the lesson here right that the lesson is not just a business lesson 0.99

00:14:05.100 it's a life lesson in understanding the simple fact that the conversations that are happening about you 0.99

00:14:11.580 when you're not around are the most important conversations that you could possibly be having

00:14:15.680 and for business we refer to this as word of mouth marketing but i mean when you start thinking about

00:14:20.440 your legacy it's how people know you it's how they speak about you and making sure that you learn to

00:14:25.100 care about these people is how they talk about you when you're not around and i think that's the that's

00:14:28.960 the most important lesson is you know i quickly realized that you know i we have spent tons of money with 0.77

00:14:35.020 this gal and she didn't respect it you know she didn't respect my home i worked really fucking hard 0.97

00:14:40.580 for that house and whether this is a business lesson or not it's treat people how you want to be treated 0.66

00:14:46.880 you know it's it's it's make sure that you leave a positive imprint on somebody so that they can have

00:14:52.000 a positive thing to say about you when you're not around and if you want your business to grow

00:14:56.140 you need to learn to create positive word of mouth so that you can control the conversation when you're

00:15:02.260 not there and and from a business aspect this is one of the most important lessons that you can ever

00:15:06.520 have and if you want to create sustainable growth you have to have positive word of mouth marketing

00:15:13.100 and what we tell people around here is the fastest way to double your business is to have such a good

00:15:18.980 interaction with that customer that they cannot help on just go tell one other person how great that 0.93

00:15:25.680 interaction was whether it's with a person and or a company it works the same fucking way and so that was 0.90

00:15:31.020 the lesson for today guys i hope i hope and i and i like to think that we added a little bit of value 0.80

00:15:36.940 or maybe a little bit of entertainment to your day your drive your workout whatever that case may be

00:15:41.400 and if you enjoyed if you learned something if you found a little bit of value if you found a just even

00:15:47.080 had a laugh if you could if you could do me one small favor share the episode tag me in it let's create

00:15:53.880 a positive word of mouth experience just around this episode and make sure you leave a review if you found
