00:05:36.660 what 0.98

00:05:39.380 did you see that video i sent you the other day about that

00:05:43.640 oh man which one you send me a lot bro yeah i know you're the reason usually for the show

00:05:49.580 it never makes it in the show though the show would be much funnier if it did would it 0.99

00:05:53.660 it'd be it'd be something yeah we do waiting yeah okay they're literally waiting what the fuck are 0.86

00:05:59.600 we doing they hear all of this actually oh dude let's get let's get our first call in man let's 0.91

00:06:07.420 get kennedy on the line kennedy kennedy let's give uh kennedy a call

00:06:11.920 hello hello kennedy hi how are you i'm good how are you this is dj what's going on

00:06:28.880 nothing much just working how are things going in st louis yeah they're good they're hot

00:06:35.360 it's hot in oklahoma here too i bet so what's up kennedy how can we help you

00:06:42.100 well i mean first i know you guys hear this all the time but i just wanted to thank you for all that

00:06:48.760 you do through this podcast um the lessons and the wisdom that you guys have shared has just

00:06:54.680 completely changed me professionally and personally so just thank you for that um so what i was just

00:07:03.880 wanting some advice on i i work for an incredible organization and i've recently been invited to

00:07:11.100 attend meetings with our executives and leadership and during our one-on-one meetings with executives i

00:07:19.520 feel like i perform well i know how to collaborate and how to give ideas and help the organization grow

00:07:27.220 but during like large group meetings with the entire team i feel that i'm the quietest one i freeze under

00:07:37.960 pressure and i don't know if it's the fear of saying something wrong or just the pressure getting to me

00:07:45.380 so just any advice that you could give to maybe help maybe push through the uncomfortableness

00:07:52.380 of these large group meetings for sure i think this is something that a lot of people struggle with

00:07:58.180 i think a lot of people really end up in a place they don't want to be in life because they lack the simple

00:08:04.700 courage to speak up and say things when appropriate and i can tell you for i'll give you two perspectives one for me

00:08:13.540 i was never comfortable in front of a group of people that is not something that was natural for me

00:08:21.200 um i remember the first meeting i gave that was like an official meeting and i stood in front of like

00:08:29.120 i don't know 10 12 people and i mean i was scared to death dude i was scared to death i had a one sheet

00:08:38.480 outline i had never really given a meeting my hand was shaking i was nervous i was sweating i

00:08:45.560 i dude i drank a beer before before the meeting to try and calm down like that was my dad's advice

00:08:52.340 my dad's like drink a beer you feel better so i got a beer and i drank that didn't work um

00:08:57.720 and i was terrified and uh i read the i read the meeting you know and it like dude

00:09:05.540 imagine what you guys think of me personally now being able to deliver a message versus uh the

00:09:13.420 complete polar opposite and that's where i started at and i say that because it's important for

00:09:19.040 everybody to understand that even the people that you look up to you think are highly skilled at certain

00:09:23.680 things they didn't just come out of the womb that way they weren't born that way and i don't have a

00:09:29.820 problem admitting that i i was not very smart i didn't know how to speak i was scared i was timid i

00:09:39.460 was afraid to to really do anything and the only reason that i ever did anything is because i had to

00:09:47.800 do it and it put me in a position uh you know with business where i was forced to take action

00:09:53.300 even when i didn't want to there wasn't an option for me not to do it and if i didn't have that

00:09:58.860 pressure i wouldn't be the person that i am today so just to start and this is for you kennedy and for

00:10:05.100 everybody else listening this is a skill that you have to develop and that's what we have to look at

00:10:11.480 it is a lot of people look at these things and they say well i'm not very vocal and i'm not an out

00:10:16.880 i'm a i'm an introvert and i'm not extroverted and this and this and this and this look dude the world 0.61

00:10:22.700 doesn't give a shit if you're an introvert what it cares about is do you contribute and the world's 0.93

00:10:31.320 not just going to take it easy on anyone because they have a little bit of fear of saying the thing 0.99

00:10:36.680 and people are going to say oh well you know he's an introvert or she's an introvert and give you

00:10:41.820 points for that no one no one cares and so what happens is people think because they identify

00:10:48.700 themselves as an introvert that that gets them off the hook from actually having to speak or say or do

00:10:54.440 or be assertive and if you don't do those things if you're not assertive you never get recognized and

00:11:02.620 you'll never move forward and that is the ultimate conclusion that we have to come to for those of us

00:11:08.260 who are not comfortable naturally speaking our minds or being in front of people and the way that

00:11:16.460 we conquer that is we put ourselves intentionally in positions where we get reps at that and i was

00:11:23.980 very fortunate through building multiple companies to have opportunities to give meetings and sit in

00:11:30.220 meetings hundreds thousands of times which then made me very comfortable um i had the opportunity to

00:11:37.060 speak in front of our company which is now you know 500 people thousands of times which got me reps

00:11:44.600 at speaking and so now i'm comfortable and it's just like anything else we have to take our skill

00:11:52.420 sets that we are weak in and we have to make them strong through repetition and practice and so with all

00:12:00.080 of that being said the first thing that we have to do is look for opportunities to to assert ourselves so

00:12:07.920 when you're in a meeting and you're in this situation and you have all this pressure and you're

00:12:13.960 freaking out and you're saying oh you know i don't i don't want to say this because i might be wrong or 0.58

00:12:18.700 i don't want to say this because i i don't want to sound stupid or this or that or this dude that should 0.85

00:12:23.900 become your trigger to speak okay because what damage can you really do all right if you're someone 0.83

00:12:32.760 who is an intelligent person and you're sitting there and you're coming up with ideas and answers that

00:12:41.540 you know you can contribute to the mission and you're talking yourself into being quiet what that

00:12:51.420 usually means is that you're a highly intellectual person because you're overthinking what's actually

00:12:57.780 going on all right and you have to remember that whatever comes out of your mouth is probably going 1.00

00:13:04.900 to be pretty good because the dumb motherfuckers they're not hesitating you know what i'm saying 1.00

00:13:09.760 they're raising their hand and just spouting shit out you on the other hand are thinking very 1.00

00:13:15.260 calculated you're listening most of the time and speaking when it's appropriate and that should 0.98

00:13:21.460 give you confidence because you have the awareness of when i should speak and when i shouldn't speak

00:13:26.340 that when you feel you should speak you should okay you know that you have something to contribute

00:13:34.020 you should do that all right now that's the that's the carrot that's the positive part

00:13:39.080 you can always work this skill in you can always become better you can always learn this skill and

00:13:45.100 you should everybody should but here's the the stick all right this is the part that hurts if you don't do

00:13:52.980 it if you don't speak up if you sit there and freeze up you will never move forward because you are not

00:14:03.380 displaying your value to the team and not only will you never move forward eventually when they start

00:14:11.040 looking at who's replaceable and who's not they're going to look at the people who are quiet even if

00:14:17.920 the people who are quiet are highly skilled and really good if nobody knows they're highly skilled

00:14:24.080 and nobody knows they're really good and they don't speak up for themselves they're going to get cut

00:14:29.380 from the team okay even for lesser skilled people that speak up because the perception is people who are

00:14:37.040 willing to contribute are smarter than the people who are staying quiet the perception from a manager or a leader

00:14:44.100 or an uh an executive is usually not always usually and when i say usually i mean in the upper 90 percent

00:14:52.180 the perception of the quiet person is going to be that they bring less value that is what you have

00:14:59.160 to understand and that's reality it might not be true but perception is reality in life and business

00:15:06.100 and so you have to really really really start to force yourself to contribute if you want people to

00:15:15.020 recognize the value and a lot of people have the problem with this because they see themselves as

00:15:19.920 humble and they see themselves as i'm bragging if i if i talk about the things i do good or say the 0.98

00:15:27.180 things i do good look guys if you don't toot your own motherfucking horn nobody's going to toot it for 1.00

00:15:32.160 you the world will pass you up the world will ignore you and you'll die with all this shit on the inside 0.99

00:15:38.060 i could have done this i could have done this i should have said this i should have said that 1.00

00:15:41.440 when in reality dude you got nothing to lose by saying it so it's it's a very mental 0.99

00:15:48.700 it's a mental mind fuck that we all have to work through and it's also a lack of skill that we all 0.98

00:15:55.500 have to work through and this is not exclusive to kennedy this is something that almost everybody has 0.98

00:16:00.900 and for you guys who sit in meetings and sit in uh you know your entrepreneurs right you're trying

00:16:09.000 to contribute you have to ask yourself how much are you really contributing if you're holding your ideas

00:16:14.240 in inside you how how valuable are you really because employees tend to have this mentality and

00:16:21.020 this is very very very wrong they have this mentality because they know what they know they

00:16:28.240 know they have all these ideas and they have all these things and they've got all these things they

00:16:33.480 think should be done but they never say it and then when they end up getting passed over they get

00:16:39.820 bitter because they feel like well i know more than that guy and i'm better than that guy and i 0.93

00:16:45.100 blah blah blah than that guy yeah but nobody fucking knows it dude because you won't open your 0.99

00:16:50.160 motherfucking mouth okay so the reality is unless you open your mouth unless you have the courage to speak 0.99

00:16:56.960 up unless you contribute you will be seen true or not as someone who is less valuable so i would 0.99

00:17:05.660 encourage you to use that nervous feeling of i'm not sure if i should say something as a trigger to

00:17:13.940 say something and once you do this five six seven times you're gonna realize hey man uh this is this

00:17:22.000 is this is great this is this is working out people are receptive to what i'm saying and even if they

00:17:27.260 aren't you're on record for saying what you said and if things don't go right you can always say yeah

00:17:31.600 well that's why i suggested that six months ago i'll tell you a real world example for me

00:17:36.300 i have very few meetings that i attend anymore i am chairman of the board of first form i'm chairman

00:17:43.960 of the other i don't have an active role as ceo anymore at any of my companies so chairman is what

00:17:49.440 i do i i sit in on big picture meetings there's one meeting that i sit in operationally that is a

00:17:57.580 regular meeting and that is a wednesday you guys will see me post it i'll post a picture we'll

00:18:02.400 sitting at the big long table that says i am first form that is our creative department okay that is

00:18:07.920 just our creative i sit in that meeting and we talk about all the things offense i call it offense

00:18:15.660 okay all the things we're going to do for uh getting people in the top of funnel for the brand

00:18:21.180 uh the marketing the the experiences the activations we just go through all of those things

00:18:27.280 i started that one year ago in august where i was sitting with these guys in that year

00:18:35.060 there has been two or three people in that meeting who when i started the meeting i didn't know if they

00:18:43.140 really belonged here i thought what does this person actually do why is this person here what do

00:18:49.400 they do and i kind of went in with a negative attitude of like all right we got some people here that

00:18:54.360 probably aren't going to be here a year from now because they don't contribute and a few of those

00:18:59.420 people uh i'm happy to say i was completely fucking wrong about because i sat in the meeting and i 0.93

00:19:06.380 encouraged everybody to speak up and then these specific people i'm talking about started speaking 0.99

00:19:11.380 up and to the point now where a few of them i'm like fuck those are the motherfuckers those are the 0.99

00:19:16.460 people holding it together those are the people that are actually making shit happen and had they 0.99

00:19:21.120 stayed quiet which they had before i'd never seen them contribute i'd never seen them talk

00:19:26.160 my perception was actually the exact opposite of what they were actually doing and all i had to do

00:19:33.780 was get them to talk okay and now i have two or three new assets in the company that i trust

00:19:40.020 i believe in who i think highly of that a year ago i was like why is this person really here

00:19:46.720 and this is where we have to understand that we have to take it upon ourselves to speak up because

00:19:55.440 dude like i was saying a minute ago when people start to get passed over over and over and over

00:20:00.980 again and they know on the inside i have this skill i have that skill i have this skill i'm better than

00:20:06.500 that guy well you're not you're not better than that person because you're missing just like a 0.61

00:20:12.220 business bro you can have the best business in the world the fucking best business if nobody knows it 0.86

00:20:18.220 you're not going to have any customers that means you're going to go out of business so if you look 0.88

00:20:21.500 at yourself as the product and you look at yourself as a business inside of an organization 0.99

00:20:26.440 and the value is what your value is personally then you got to do the fucking marketing and the 0.97

00:20:33.000 marketing is speaking up being active contributing saying things pitching ideas putting points on the 0.96

00:20:41.800 board obviously is the most important part but people got to know about you dude and as much as

00:20:47.820 we want to be humble and meek and say we're introverts and this and that nobody can do that for us but us 0.81

00:20:53.800 and this is a big big big fucking problem with a lot of people because a lot of people act like this 0.94

00:21:01.160 because they're good people man it's not because it's not because they're bad people they're they 0.99

00:21:05.780 they don't want to rock the boat they don't want to look stupid that we all have these insecurities 0.81

00:21:09.840 but what ends up happening man is they get passed over and passed over and passed over and passed over 1.00

00:21:15.740 and then they get to be 50 years old and they're like fuck nobody ever believed in me no motherfucker 1.00

00:21:21.040 you didn't believe in you because you didn't have the courage to stand the fuck up and say what you 1.00

00:21:25.460 could do okay so long story short you got to get over it you got to force yourself somehow to contribute

00:21:33.900 and you got to trust yourself that you do have something valuable to say and that's where that

00:21:39.900 urge comes from to speak and you can't stifle that society stifles us over and over and over again from

00:21:47.280 the time we were little children they tell us you could be anything you want you could be an astronaut

00:21:52.800 you could be president you could be a billionaire you could change the world but then by the time we get 1.00

00:21:58.980 into high school you say that shit they're sticking you in a fucking locker okay and our teachers are 1.00

00:22:04.780 telling us to shut the fuck up and pay attention and that's silly and that's not real and you need 1.00

00:22:09.440 to grow up and and all of these social pressures contribute to us staying quiet when in reality dude 0.99

00:22:16.360 for us to succeed we have to use our voice we have to be proud of who we are we have to talk highly of 0.75

00:22:24.020 ourselves because that's what gets fucking paid bro if you look at the biggest names in the world 0.83

00:22:30.040 that make the most money they're not the quietest okay conor mcgregor's one of the highest paid fighters 0.99

00:22:35.540 ever he's got the biggest fucking mouth ever who's one of the second most popular fuck muhammad ali 1.00

00:22:40.540 big fucking mouth uh you know we we look around at the richest guys in the world they always got shit to 1.00

00:22:46.600 say okay like this is part of it and this whole idea of i'm humble i'm meek i'm just an introvert 1.00

00:22:54.800 that is society's indoctrination doing its job on us because it the people who design these social

00:23:03.400 movements to keep us quiet and quote unquote humble know that by keeping us quiet and quote unquote humble

00:23:11.140 and small that none of the good ideas that we have or none of the solutions or none of the cures

00:23:15.880 are none of the things that we will build become create will actually happen which makes us easier 0.97

00:23:21.120 to control so my point in all of this is this if you don't speak up you're gonna fucking lose 0.93

00:23:29.600 and that's that are you there absolutely right no you're absolutely right i'm just taking it all in 0.95

00:23:38.280 dude if you don't do it you're gonna lose you gotta do it you gotta do it you gotta do it

00:23:45.440 i don't want to lose and i don't want our organization to lose so thank you yeah and it

00:23:52.480 just need the courage and like you said we get ourself passes for being introverts and

00:23:58.980 the world doesn't give you a pass that's correct and just that's so good dude i've sat down with so

00:24:05.740 many people in my years of running companies and i say why don't you speak up and they're like well

00:24:10.780 that's just really not my style what am i paying you for dude i'm paying for your brain i'm paying

00:24:18.860 for your thoughts i'm paying for your ideas i'm paying for your action real value isn't just doing

00:24:24.120 the job real value is doing the job and then figure out how to improve doing the job autonomously and

00:24:31.140 that takes that takes thought that takes courage that's this is why i said i talk about this a lot

00:24:38.360 uh privately but publicly i've said this a few times i think the biggest reason most people don't

00:24:42.800 succeed in life is because they lack courage and people take that like as like they don't have the

00:24:47.820 courage to start a business that's not what i mean bro they don't have a courage to talk to that

00:24:52.640 person that they want to ask out they don't have the courage to to go after and say i have these big

00:24:57.600 goals they don't have the courage to speak up in their meetings because they're afraid they're

00:25:02.480 going to get laughed at and because they don't have the courage to do any of these things they 0.97

00:25:06.140 end up living a life that they fucking hate and we saw this during you know the last the last few 0.95

00:25:11.760 years where you know people didn't have the courage to stand up and say hey i don't agree with this or 0.99

00:25:16.300 hey you know we shouldn't be filling playgrounds with sand you know like shit like that and like dude it 0.96

00:25:21.240 was very obvious to me during the pandemic why people lose because they didn't even have the 0.99

00:25:27.420 courage to say this is bullshit and unfortunately you know courage is one of the components of success 0.97

00:25:33.660 so um you have to do it you have to do it you just gotta fight bro you gotta do it it's impossible

00:25:40.620 to win without it i love it no you're absolutely right so well thank you guys so much for taking the

00:25:49.920 time to talk about this i'm definitely going to lean on courage more and whenever i feel that i

00:25:56.560 shouldn't speak up is when i'm going to there you go thank you so so much you're welcome just use it

00:26:01.480 as a trigger man the first time you start hearing that voice in your head like i got something to 1.00

00:26:05.460 say and then that other voice comes in and says no no you're gonna look stupid fuck that voice do it 1.00

00:26:10.460 anyway because like dude that is what's going to end up making your life the way you want it 0.99

00:26:15.580 love it yeah love it well thanks kenny go get it done awesome thanks guys all right thank you

00:26:23.440 yeah huge deal bro it's massive i wanted to ask you a piece on this how important is it to have

00:26:32.600 the confidence on the actual subject matter when it comes to well when you know the subject very well

00:26:38.120 it is a lot easier to to be confident about it you know the more you know the subject matter the less

00:26:43.740 nervous you have to be you know one of the things that that i learned through public speaking

00:26:48.540 because i know business and entrepreneurship so well and have lived it actually as my whole life

00:26:56.300 24 hours a day for so long like i can literally go out now unprepared and deliver really whatever

00:27:04.220 they want like i can and you've seen me do this like i will go to an event if i'm speaking and i will

00:27:09.980 ask the person 20 minutes 30 minutes before the event five minutes before like hey what do you want

00:27:15.300 what do you mean what do you want i'm like what do you want like what do you want me to say and they

00:27:19.640 like think i'm joking yeah right right like they're like what do you mean i'm like what do you want like

00:27:23.880 but the reason i can do that is because of two things one i know the content okay i'm very confident

00:27:32.000 in the content and i'm so confident in the content that i have no problem no matter who it was

00:27:38.960 it could be anyone on this planet could stand up in the front row and raise their hand and say i

00:27:45.460 don't agree with you and i could back up my point and say well here's what i'm saying this is where it

00:27:49.160 is and have an intelligent conversation with the smartest person on the planet about business period

00:27:54.460 i know i can okay but two and this is another important part i have the right intent okay i know

00:28:02.700 i'm there to help people i know i'm there to make people better so with those two things the knowledge

00:28:09.200 of the depth of knowledge in the subject category and the proper intent it's almost impossible to 0.84

00:28:16.100 fuck it up and and if you're in a meeting and you know what the fuck's going on and you have the 0.90

00:28:21.260 intent like she said to make the organization better then you should have no fear of speaking up 0.99

00:28:26.940 at all yeah yeah i love that dude i love it man uh let's get another question going man uh question

00:28:33.980 number two uh hi andy uh andy we sell a premium edc everyday carry backpack uh built for professionals

00:28:44.820 who move between urban environments and outdoor terrain um it has a lot of really awesome features

00:28:50.660 we've sold a few thousand units through organic traffic social content and word of mouth customers

00:28:56.520 who get it love it um we've got solid reviews great retention and even some repeat buyers

00:29:01.800 but we're hitting a plateau people like it but they don't need it our e-com data is telling us that

00:29:08.520 people come to our website they browse um they add it to the cart but they don't buy it um our conversion

00:29:14.700 rate is decent but flat i think we've built a solid product but not a killer offer so i'm stepping

00:29:21.920 back and asking what uh what would make this offer undeniable to the right buyer do we need a built-in

00:29:27.840 power bank should we include a lifetime damage replacement warranty are we undercharging for

00:29:32.800 what we've built or failed to communicate the price to its value so the question is what combination of

00:29:39.600 messaging value stacking etc would make this product go from interesting to must have without discounting our

00:29:47.600 brand or pushing gimmicks well first of all that's very general information to ask specific answer

00:29:55.840 for i would have to know the exact percentages of all of those things to answer that question

00:30:00.000 but here's what i will say you basically got a few different elements in play here one you got the

00:30:05.360 product is the product good yes or no okay two you got the price is the price fair yes or no um

00:30:12.480 um and three uh do you have the right people that you're marketing to and four is the message that

00:30:21.760 you're marketing to them the correct message and these are the these are the basic elements of what we

00:30:27.680 need to consider that's the that's the checklist basically yeah okay okay the product's got to be good

00:30:32.080 yeah um the price has to be right we have to be targeting the right people and we have to be targeting

00:30:38.720 them with the right offer and so one of those four things is likely off now you want to preserve

00:30:45.360 the brand perception of premium which means you cannot lower the price to adjust to sell more

00:30:52.800 because if you lower the price there is a price value correlation that will be violated and people

00:30:58.080 will see your product as lesser quality so that is off the table which means you have to figure out

00:31:04.080 a way to add value on top of that or you're going to have to adjust your messaging uh

00:31:12.160 in your in your audience okay so i don't know your messaging i don't know your audience i don't know

00:31:18.400 what you're offering on top of it but without knowing any of those things um it seems very very clear

00:31:26.400 like dude actually it's not clear because i don't know when you say it's selling okay i don't know

00:31:31.760 what that means when you say people are coming to the site i don't know what percentage that is

00:31:36.080 i would have to know those things to know what the problem is but and to answer the question in general

00:31:42.480 these are the elements that we have to look at and adjust and very very quickly most people will

00:31:48.160 discount their product to a point of the perception being cheap when they're trying to maintain quality

00:31:57.200 and they think they can do it with sales and discounts you know they think well you know

00:32:01.680 i can make the product price 400 that's not the price that people perceive it to okay they're going

00:32:07.840 to perceive it as what they paid for it so if you make the price 400 for this amazing premium bag

00:32:13.440 and you're always discounting it to fucking a hundred dollars they're going to see it as a hundred 0.92

00:32:17.600 dollar bag the bag's a hundred dollars correct yeah and this is a big problem that a lot of companies 0.91

00:32:22.240 make but the short answer to the information that's available you've got to look at those

00:32:27.120 four elements you have to decide what is the right combination of those things that's going to

00:32:34.240 maintain the perception that you want to create over the course of you know the brand life cycle

00:32:39.920 i imagine that you're probably going to want to line extend into other things later you're going

00:32:44.480 to want to take this bag you're going to make another bag and then maybe you're going to make

00:32:48.240 uh you know uh an edc over the shoulder carry bag maybe you're going to make a you know a different

00:32:55.360 like some things to go in the bag yes so you can't get impatient when it comes to maintaining the brand's

00:33:04.800 integrity in terms of the value of what the perception is of the brand you understand yeah for

00:33:10.000 sure so so i would say without looking at anything else what you probably have is you probably have a

00:33:17.120 problem with your audience and the message that you're delivering to your audience and what i would

00:33:22.880 probably say without knowing is that you're selling to an audience that is more general not premium

00:33:31.520 as versus an audience that would look for premium goods and i think if you adjust to that you're

00:33:35.840 probably going to do much better yeah i think i think that that's an interesting point and and i think

00:33:42.080 i mean it wouldn't i feel like this would be a common problem for a lot of entrepreneurs is like

00:33:46.960 that are selling goods or offering services is like what is fair in price you know what i'm saying

00:33:53.280 like like how do you how do you make that determination on okay i'm offering this bottle of water what's 0.89

00:33:58.160 the difference between this being a fiji bottle that's fucking you know five dollars versus the 0.95

00:34:03.040 branding and marketing yeah oh and product quality and green quality yeah but i mean like that's 0.87

00:34:08.240 you have to be pretty honest with the process though right what do you mean like honest about how 0.78

00:34:13.600 good is that fucking water to be able to offer it that high yeah i mean if you sell a premium 0.99

00:34:18.240 fucking price product and it's not premium the word of mouth gonna kill your company okay you can't 0.99

00:34:23.520 trick people you're not gonna fucking trick people by putting out a a low quality bag at a premium price 0.99

00:34:31.120 premium customers are going to be the ones that know what premium is and they're going to get 0.98

00:34:34.320 fucking pissed and they're going to go all over the internet and they're going to say don't ever buy

00:34:38.160 from this company that's actually the old play that they ran for 50 60 years when there was no 0.99

00:34:43.200 social media and there was no internet we had a ton of companies that would make shitty ass products 1.00

00:34:48.240 charge premium price for it but there was no avenue for negative word of mouth to come back 0.99

00:34:53.920 so they could get away with it and they made trillions of fucking dollars collectively 0.93

00:34:58.560 and this is why the the older people have this messaging of well if that guy's rich he's got 0.98

00:35:05.520 to be a scam artist or he fucked people over or he did this and that because dude for a long time 0.89

00:35:09.920 that's how business was there was no recourse all right nowadays it's completely opposite if you make

00:35:16.720 a premium uh product and you sell it for a fair price people are going to talk about it if you make

00:35:22.720 an inferior product and you sell it for a premium price people are going to be pissed and they're

00:35:27.440 going to talk about it and what you have to understand is they're going to talk no matter what

00:35:31.920 so what story do you want them to tell and so the story should be dude i you have to order from them

00:35:39.520 it's not even it's not even a little bit question they make the best product they got the best service

00:35:44.000 they they give the most value they're always there for me these people care like everything you could

00:35:49.920 possibly do you have to do because this is the most competitive game in the world and when you're

00:35:55.200 marketing or i'm sorry when you're competing for the story told about your product you've got to

00:36:01.360 cross your your t's and dot your i's perfectly because that's what you're that's what you're

00:36:05.680 competing against you're competing in business against the story that's told about every other 0.98

00:36:12.640 brand that you compete against that's it and so your job is to make the best fucking story 0.95

00:36:18.560 so that when people talk that person who runs into the you know your competitor who also has 0.98

00:36:25.280 uh you know a bag they say bro listen to what these guys did they fucking look at this bag look how 0.91

00:36:30.560 awesome it starts with the product look how awesome right then it's like bro not only that

00:36:35.280 they did this not only that they did that not only that they followed up here not only that they

00:36:39.200 did this and this and this and then other guys like yeah i should be shopping with them i just got

00:36:43.600 this bag yeah right so it's not it's not just as simple as you know what is the offer all the time

00:36:50.880 it's it's collectively what am i trying to do with the company and then do i understand

00:36:56.720 the value of a customer over the course of life not just in a statistical ltv term but

00:37:06.720 in a story term okay look dude like i'm in the fitness industry okay for the most part every

00:37:13.280 company that i'm in almost every company i'm in deals in consumer goods that people consume okay

00:37:20.800 in fitness sometimes people work out sometimes they don't okay nobody really i mean i do and

00:37:31.680 the people here do and a few of our customers do but people tend to go through phases i work out

00:37:36.960 really hard then i kind of go off and when they go off they're not typically buying this or that of

00:37:42.640 what we buy but that doesn't mean they're not a customer because they're going to be a customer

00:37:47.040 again so we have to get the story to to last longer than the actual what you would define as

00:37:53.760 ltv statistically and this is kind of the point that we were talking about what tim grover was on

00:38:00.320 about how sometimes the real story has less to do with data metrics and more to do with emotion

00:38:08.320 perception you see what i'm saying and perception and so when you're selling a product

00:38:16.000 you can't get impatient about where you're placing it but you have to do everything i'm i'm not a big 0.99

00:38:21.760 i i will not i don't discount products i don't fucking discount products i don't i don't sell shit 0.99

00:38:26.960 cheaper that's everybody's way to go and it's a race to the bottom you end up cutting your margin out 0.96

00:38:32.960 you end up retraining your customers to see your product valued less i had this conversation with a 0.96

00:38:37.840 buddy of mine who um had a big company at one time and ended up fucking killing it because he 0.95

00:38:45.040 couldn't understand this concept all right when you sell things for a discount because you need to 0.87

00:38:52.800 bring in sales and that's your like quote unquote secret weapon it only works short term all right

00:38:59.280 the first time it works really well you're like look at all the money i made the second time it might

00:39:04.320 work really well the third time it works a little bit less by the 20th time the customers are waiting 0.93

00:39:10.400 for the shit to go on sale which means the company that you designed to operate on x profit is now 0.71

00:39:17.200 operating on x on 50 of x profit let's say it's it's a bogo offer okay so now your entire framework of 0.98

00:39:24.800 your company does not math at all and you and most people don't realize that they're like why is the

00:39:31.600 books not matching we're selling this and this well bro your margin is cut in half because you got

00:39:36.400 impatient to bring in the top line dollars the top line dollars don't even really mean that much you

00:39:41.040 see what i'm saying so there's a lot of things that that go into this and a lot of it comes from

00:39:47.120 experience and i'll tell you how i learned this lesson in 2006 we ran and we do we were in a very

00:39:56.000 similar spot is what this question is we had a seven pound protein a seven pounder okay now it's

00:40:03.760 mostly five pounders but there was a seven pound that's a ton of protein yeah yeah yeah and it was

00:40:08.800 cheap protein so it was very cheap low quality and there's a customer for that right like there's a

00:40:15.200 customer which i've never understood that i've never understood why if you're trying to get the best

00:40:19.360 results why you would buy the cheapest it's not all the same um but regardless there's a market for it

00:40:26.000 so we were i was you know i don't know anything at that time i'm just kind of learning and i'm like

00:40:31.840 here's what we should do it caught our cost on it was like 28 bucks okay and i'm like chris i've got

00:40:38.240 this great idea we'll fucking loss lead the seven pound protein which loss lead means basically sell 0.91

00:40:43.840 it for cost so you get people in right and we'll loss lead the seven pound protein dude and we'll get 0.91

00:40:50.640 all these customers so we started running these radio ads and we we called the meathead special i

00:40:55.360 i swear to god that's what we called it okay we called the meathead special 29.99 for seven pounds

00:41:01.760 of protein bro the first day those errors those ads aired we sold we sold the out we got more we 0.92

00:41:09.520 sold the out and i'm like yeah let's leave we're fucking rich like dude for for the next three months 0.99

00:41:19.040 nobody came in the store because they stocked their pantries they stocked up on this fucking 0.98

00:41:25.840 product they didn't need to come in and not only did they stock up and didn't come back for three 0.99

00:41:29.920 months i didn't make any fucking money on the first deal it almost put us out of business it almost put 0.95

00:41:35.280 us out of business and um that's why i like when i when when i see people doing buy one get ones on 0.94

00:41:41.280 consumable items that are on a monthly cycle i'm like bro don't fucking do that you know but what 0.94

00:41:47.440 do i know yeah you know what i'm saying i mean how much of that too is like just people not

00:41:52.080 like not understanding that like the customers are pretty smart and like they know what they want

00:41:56.720 like they're okay with premium paying on on the product of course you gotta decide where the 0.59

00:42:01.280 fuck you're gonna be yeah i mean dude some of the most valuable brands in the world are brand 0.89

00:42:05.200 or are the most luxurious brands and real talk like if you made the best here's the the thing 0.99

00:42:12.240 about building a high-end product not necessarily in consumables but in other areas because in

00:42:18.400 consumables there's only so much high-end you can get right like there's you go to the you go to the

00:42:24.400 steak store there's a fucking i don't know how much steaks are now but yeah right what is what 0.94

00:42:30.240 what's a strip steak 20 bucks okay then you get the 40 bucks steak then there's the the 300 steak 0.96

00:42:39.200 at that's wagyu and then after that it's yeah everybody's like it's yeah right okay so there's

00:42:46.080 a limit there yes yeah so so you have to decide where you want to be do you want to be in the in

00:42:51.680 the good do you want to be in the better or do you want to be in the best and the thing about

00:42:57.840 being in the best is that there's not as many customers but there's so much margin in it

00:43:03.280 because the it's the perception and the branding and the marketing most of the time so if you made a 0.97

00:43:08.160 fucking amazing amazing product in this bag you know let's say it fucking is made of space-age 0.96

00:43:17.360 lunar indestructible material and by the way a great story goes a long way okay um space-age 0.99

00:43:25.120 lunar interwoven kevlar nasa certified space 0.57

00:43:31.280 shit double certified yes yeah like dude and that you and you go and sell that to the the right people 0.99

00:43:37.920 are going to think that's the shit okay um and then there's going to be people at the low end and 1.00

00:43:43.440 they're going to say uh that's bullshit right but what what do you do you you build a story around it 0.99

00:43:49.280 you get it in the people that that would understand and see if they think it's the highest quality 0.94

00:43:54.240 you work with those people you leverage their audiences and you take it from there but the 0.65

00:43:58.080 point of the whole fucking matter is is that i personally think that selling the cheapest is 0.92

00:44:08.480 not a good place to be because there's the there's way more people at the bottom of the pyramid of 0.93

00:44:13.760 selling the cheapest product and it becomes a race to the bottom people your customers can never

00:44:18.800 be loyal when they are work when they're going for when you're the cheapest product they're not going

00:44:23.040 to be loyal because they're going to care about are you a dollar more are you a dollar less i mean i

00:44:29.840 learned this lesson in retail this is what retail business is such such a a good business um

00:44:35.200 um back in i don't know it's probably fucking 2002 or three uh i had a retail customer come in and 0.94

00:44:43.200 we were selling a product called myoplex light and i remember i remember this exact conversation

00:44:49.440 because it was it was at the time it was the minute i learned what i'm trying to explain now

00:44:57.840 the first three or four years in business people would come in and i would negotiate with them

00:45:01.520 they'd say oh well so and so has it cheaper and i'd say well oh i'll match that i'll do that 0.98

00:45:07.440 and dude i couldn't make any money because the customers fucking started figuring it out 0.95

00:45:11.680 and they would come in and they would just name a price or show it and i'd be like all right i'll do 0.97

00:45:15.200 it you know because i didn't know any better so i had a lady come in one time and she was like 1.00

00:45:23.600 she's like how much was your price on this myoplex light i said it's 29.99 and she goes well they got

00:45:29.200 it down the street for 29.90 no yeah no no hold on she dead serious looks at me in the face 1.00

00:45:39.360 they got it down the street for for 29 29.90 and i'm looking at her she's looking at me i'm not

00:45:45.840 saying anything because i my response was just like what you just thought on the inside i'm like 0.96

00:45:50.480 there's zero fucking chance that this lady is pressing me for nine fucking cents yeah 1.00

00:45:55.520 and she's like can you match it and i was so irritated i said no no i'm not matching it and 0.98

00:46:03.440 she's like i thought you guys matched prices i say it's nine cents she she goes what you said you

00:46:09.920 were i said well that ended yeah right when did this would you guys stop doing that yeah right now 1.00

00:46:16.080 she got in her car and drove away didn't buy it i didn't care yeah fuck you you're not gonna put me 1.00

00:46:21.200 out of business because you're fucking greedy for nine cents and that's where i learned my lesson 1.00

00:46:25.680 bro i don't want to fuck with the people i don't want to fuck with price shoppers i want to fuck with 1.00

00:46:30.080 people who understand quality i want to sell products that are quality i want to feel good about 0.99

00:46:34.000 quality i've always felt okay with people saying your products are too expensive but i'm not okay with 0.96

00:46:38.960 saying the product's not as good and that's where i personally live i like premium shit there's nothing 0.96

00:46:44.720 about my life that says i don't like premium shit i like premium cars i like premium house i like premium 0.98

00:46:50.320 watches i like premium people i like fucking premium everything that's where i live in every business 0.99

00:46:56.800 that i'm in you somebody else might live better in a different business but that's where i like to play 0.92

00:47:04.800 and when you play in that in that place of building the best product people recognize quality and and

00:47:12.640 it's an easier time to have those customer relationships yeah you can say it ain't worth

00:47:18.720 it though it's a long answer no that's real it's a long answer the to answer the actual question that

00:47:24.240 they asked i would have to know the data points because when they say oh we're doing okay or it's

00:47:29.040 this or it's flat you know flat doesn't necessarily mean it's bad what it means is that maybe you're not

00:47:34.640 acquiring customers at the rate that you need to acquire you say oh i need to adjust the offer well

00:47:39.520 maybe you're targeting the wrong audience maybe you're targeting the right audience and your 0.98

00:47:44.000 your fucking ad copy is terrible there's so many variables in that that it's impossible to answer 0.98

00:47:49.840 but i think i gave you a lot enough value to to help you figure it we're gonna start somewhere for 0.99

00:47:54.240 sure 100 man i love it i love it let's get another call in uh we got uh we got nick hot and ready

00:48:01.920 for the call okay let's give nick a call

00:48:16.240 hello this is nick nick what's up this is dj hey what's going on oh man you tell me man how you doing

00:48:22.800 i'm doing good i'm doing good i'm out here in denver colorado so it's a good day all right what's up nick

00:48:28.160 how you doing bro hey andy good how are you doing i'm doing great man beautiful in denver right 300

00:48:34.480 days of sunshine i know it is yeah we're we're the other sunshine state i guess yeah you're the better

00:48:40.960 one the better one yeah that's true that's true all right so what's up bro how can we help you

00:48:48.080 yeah man so uh first just wanted to thank you guys for the content that you do put out i uh

00:48:54.880 uh i started as like two years ago i did 75 hard and just started listening to your podcasts

00:49:01.680 uh when i was working out and just kind of helped me get through certain certain parts of 75 hard

00:49:05.920 and i've been listening ever since and then uh and then like other things like my daughter's three

00:49:12.000 she's obsessed with otis and charlie so just that's awesome all that you guys throw out there um thank

00:49:17.680 you bro that's so yeah so it's good stuff and and just speaking of your content and to my question

00:49:24.560 so i just finished your book andy uh mental toughness and at the end you talk about success

00:49:31.600 zombies and it hit me like a ton of bricks that i'm a success zombie so uh it's really easy to like

00:49:38.560 listen to podcasts and read books and get that hit of dopamine but was just wondering like how do you

00:49:44.720 snap out of just that learning cycle or spiral and get into doing and taking action so like building

00:49:51.600 that muscle to pull the trigger i you know

00:49:58.080 let me ask you this what do you what are you doing right now i mean i'm in sales so i sell

00:50:05.760 healthcare software okay and what's your what do you want to do what's your you obviously feel like

00:50:11.680 you're not doing something you should be doing what is it that you want to do that you're not doing

00:50:15.120 oh that's a good question um that's the first problem there bro you gotta you gotta identify

00:50:22.640 what it is you want to do yeah you know because dude yeah i mean go ahead go ahead go ahead no you go

00:50:30.640 ahead yeah i mean in reading all these books and even the more i've been thinking about it

00:50:38.080 there's like a tug to do something on my own and like inside of me but i just

00:50:47.280 am comfortable where i'm at today uh-huh so in reading these books it's like oh that sounds

00:50:54.880 awesome but to take that that next step or that leap is scary so i'm almost like living vicariously

00:51:03.040 through self-help books is what it feels like sometimes i mean that's a big problem a lot of

00:51:07.760 people do that and that's why i call that's why i have a name for it man you know these are the same

00:51:12.080 people that go to every conference they join all the masterminds they listen to all the podcasts

00:51:17.760 then they start debating on who said what more accurately you know uh who's the best mentor like

00:51:23.680 dude this is not that is not what this is about like this is about action and i gotta be real with

00:51:32.000 you man and i and i don't i'm not trying to discourage you but if you don't have enough

00:51:37.680 want and drive and hunger to go and make yourself go then maybe you shouldn't go maybe you shouldn't

00:51:47.280 because the truth of the matter is the journey is so fucking hard and you have to want it so 0.91

00:51:53.120 fucking bad that if you're even questioning it i personally believe that people are going to get run over 0.95

00:51:59.680 so you know that i would probably say a lot more harshly if i wasn't talking directly to you 0.96

00:52:08.480 but the truth of the matter is go for it go for it i wanted to hear it that's why i called you that's

00:52:13.360 what well look bro look i mean dude i i said it whenever i had grover on you know if you got to be 0.99

00:52:20.080 motivated you ain't got it if you have to be pushed you don't have it if you've got to fucking be told you 0.95

00:52:25.920 know that it's time to go you might not have it man and i hate to fucking say that but if you do 0.99

00:52:33.200 have it and it's something that you do want you're gonna have to want it more than fucking anything 0.98

00:52:38.800 because that's the level of the game all right there's nobody in the nfl that kind of wants to play 0.88

00:52:46.400 football there's nobody in major league baseball that kind of wants to play baseball there's nobody at

00:52:52.320 the top level of business that kind of wants to be wealthy and do business these people dedicate 0.93

00:53:00.160 their entire fucking lives every living breathing moment of their existence to these goals and this 0.88

00:53:08.560 is a big problem with the perception of the internet the internet makes it seem like we can just casually 0.99

00:53:16.640 want things or sort of want to be successful or kind of want to be an entrepreneur and dude i'm telling

00:53:24.000 you you can't you have to be bought in the game is hard it's not fucking intramural softball it's the 0.96

00:53:32.000 world series game seven every single motherfucking day so my answer to you is is you need to really think 0.95

00:53:40.800 about what it is that you want not two years from now but 10 years from now and then 20 years from 0.93

00:53:47.840 now you're a young man i can hear it in your voice you have plenty of time to figure out what it is you

00:53:54.560 want to do and go make it happen but that doesn't mean you have to that doesn't even mean you should

00:54:00.480 because there's a lot of people and this doesn't even this isn't even a bad thing this isn't even a bad

00:54:06.720 thing there's just a lot of people that are more comfortable and happier living a normal life and

00:54:14.480 dude you got to be real honest with yourself about what you want because i see a lot of people jump

00:54:20.240 into entrepreneurship not really understanding the game that they're jumping into and bro it 0.98

00:54:27.200 fucks their shit up because now they don't have time for their kids and now they don't have time for 0.98

00:54:32.480 their family and their wife doesn't understand because it's just drastic change and all of this 1.00

00:54:38.240 shit all because we have these fucking assholes on the internet that want to sell you a course or a 1.00

00:54:44.000 mastermind or some sort of book telling you how fucking easy it is it's not easy it is not easy 1.00

00:54:50.480 i and i say this matter of factly i'm not saying i'm not saying this as an asshole i'm a smart person i have 0.98

00:54:58.720 a quarter century plus of experience in business bro it every single day it's hard for me every 0.96

00:55:07.520 single motherfucking day and so turn oh go ahead good yeah so my point to you brother is like you 0.80

00:55:14.880 just have to think about what it is you want and whatever it is you want you have to go all in on it 0.99

00:55:20.480 you got to make a decision you got to commit to it and you got to say this is what the fuck i'm doing 0.98

00:55:24.240 doing because if you give yourself an out if you give yourself a i can do this instead or i can fall 0.99

00:55:30.080 back on this or i could do this you don't you won't have it man it'll get too hard so you know

00:55:36.400 yeah dude even you saying that i did 75 hard and if you go on the app i don't know if you can see on

00:55:42.320 the back end but i've started it and stopped probably 20 times since doing it the first time

00:55:46.320 and realizing is not that easy and i keep giving myself excuses well and i realize that i understand

00:55:56.400 that why don't you do this why don't you do it again and finish it do it again and finish it do

00:56:03.680 it exactly right and finish it and during that time make it a part of your routine to every single day

00:56:11.360 think about where you want to be and then when you finish it you make a decision about what direction

00:56:18.240 you're going to go because that if you finish it and you do it the right way you're going to be a 0.96

00:56:22.320 different fucking human okay yeah and you will have developed a a new belief and a new understanding 0.96

00:56:28.800 in yourself that you actually can do anything you want to do the power of the live hard program 0.99

00:56:36.880 is this it teaches people very simply how to act productively when they don't feel like it or when

00:56:45.760 it's the last thing they want to do and if you have that power brother to act in a productive forward

00:56:53.040 way no matter how you're feeling your chances of being successful at anything increase to nearly 100

00:56:59.920 100 because nothing can fucking throw you off track so my advice to you bro 0.76

00:57:09.280 is to do the program do it exactly right during the program think about what it is you really want 0.77

00:57:16.480 study up read everything check gpt to death whatever you got to do become a student of the

00:57:22.880 entrepreneurship world and then on day 75 make a decision about what it is you want to do and that's

00:57:31.040 that's because that day 75 is when you're going to understand the power that you have and what your

00:57:37.200 potential is and your decision making will be different at that point than it is right now bro and i want to

00:57:44.240 say this you can do anything you want i have no doubts that you can do it i i know people people give me 0.95

00:57:51.600 shit they're like oh i'll fucking tune in and andy's yelling at me and saying he's better no 1.00

00:57:55.600 motherfucker i'm not saying that i'm better than you i'm saying that you're better than you and you 1.00

00:58:02.640 people don't like hearing that shit but the reason i know that is because i am no different than anybody 1.00

00:58:08.000 else i'm no different than you i'm no different than any of these people listening it's hard as 0.99

00:58:13.040 fuck for me i have to work extremely hard to be productive like the dude on the comment the other 0.91

00:58:18.000 day dj was like oh for sell it thinks he's the hardest dude in the world no actually the reason 1.00

00:58:22.240 i work so fucking hard is because i know i'm a bitch and i gotta fucking get the bitch out of me 1.00

00:58:27.040 okay that's the truth that's the fucking truth and even you even you saying that like what scares me 0.99

00:58:33.680 is when you give that not one year not two year but 10 year time horizon yeah and i'm doing the same 0.96

00:58:39.920 thing i'm doing today bro that's like my biggest fear brother that should be your fear years from now

00:58:45.280 that's my regret that should be your fear how old are you 36 bro it's your time it's your time 0.93

00:58:54.880 okay yeah you can do anything you want dude i'm not saying that from some fluffy ass way

00:59:01.440 all right and i believe anybody can but they gotta become the person who can do it and that's the first

00:59:08.480 step if you can develop the discipline the grit the mental toughness the fortitude to make decisions

00:59:15.600 that serve your goals when it's the last thing you want to do there's nothing you can't do you can't

00:59:22.320 be beat you can't be beat a hurricane won't stop you a snowstorm won't stop you the economy won't stop

00:59:27.280 you people nobody can stop you like it's just because you become unbeatable so you know that's my advice

00:59:34.960 bro and and don't take this as i'm discouraging you take this as i'm just telling you the truth

00:59:42.160 because the last thing i want is to be one of these people that glorifies the journey of entrepreneurship

00:59:52.000 to people who it's just not for and then having them be in a worse position than when they started

00:59:58.880 and that's not what i'm about bro um there's plenty of people that are very happy living a

01:00:05.600 very normal life and i to be completely fucking honest with you dude a lot of times i really 0.86

01:00:11.920 admire those people i'm just not one of them and so like you know a lot of people will think oh you

01:00:17.680 know because he's done well financially he thinks he's better than people no that's just the result of

01:00:22.080 the actions i've taken i trust me the amount of mental strain and the amount of weight that someone

01:00:27.600 like me has to fucking carry is very heavy and sometimes i look at other people who don't have 0.87

01:00:35.680 that journey and i'm like man that'd be nice but like i'm not like that we we got to be true to who 0.95

01:00:41.440 we are and what we are you know my buddy zoltan who's been you probably heard the episode when zoltan

01:00:46.240 was on the show uh from five finger death punch we were sitting at the house for six hours after the

01:00:51.120 show and i was telling him i'm like bro i'm having a hard fucking time like i don't fit in anywhere i 0.98

01:00:56.400 don't fucking get along with people i'm you know i'm always looking for a fucking fight even when 0.99

01:01:00.880 there's not a fight i create one and he's like bro the world needs warriors too man he's like 0.99

01:01:05.680 you ever think that there's nothing wrong with you and you're just here to do those things

01:01:08.880 and i'm like fuck that makes sense settle up and bro it gave me a lot of peace because i and that's 0.89

01:01:15.760 that's another thing the internet does is it takes people who are wired a certain way and makes them 0.96

01:01:21.040 think they're broke because they're different than everybody else when being different than everybody else

01:01:25.840 is the thing that makes you stand out and it's the juice it's the sauce it's the thing that makes

01:01:29.920 you special so don't let the internet convince you either way like you have to be honest with

01:01:34.960 yourself am i an entrepreneur is this what i want do i want to commit this do i want to pay the price

01:01:39.920 and i will tell you the outcome is fucking amazing there's a lot of great things about it and people 0.75

01:01:44.720 people who say money can't buy you happiness they never fucking had any that's the truth you never 0.98

01:01:50.720 hear a fucking rich person say that shit all right but you do have different problems and the problems 0.99

01:01:55.600 are big however if i listen to the internet for me it would take me back to being like everybody else 1.00

01:02:03.920 and then everybody here that i employ and all these things they would all suffer so we have to be very

01:02:08.480 careful to not fall into the the fucking slices of acceptability of our lives that the internet provides

01:02:17.280 dude you can be a complete hodgepodge mix match whatever you want you can live in all these 0.99

01:02:23.280 different worlds bro like sometimes i'm an entrepreneur sometimes i'm a fucking hippie 0.98

01:02:29.200 sometimes i'm a weightlifter sometimes i'm a race car driver sometimes you know sometimes whatever i want 0.91

01:02:35.360 like dude there's no fucking there's no mold that you have to fit into and i think people spend so much 0.95

01:02:41.760 time trying to fit in these molds that they end up fucking themselves up so so well and that's go 0.97

01:02:46.960 ahead like another yeah just another like the life stage i'm in with a three-year-old daughter too of

01:02:52.400 like is the thing i need to because you mentioned your book a couple times too is like the thing i need

01:02:57.360 to go a hundred percent on is that my daughter right now too yeah yeah and not leaving her behind

01:03:03.600 yeah well okay what's she gonna say about her dad yeah and what am i teaching her now

01:03:13.680 whether it's going back to a success zombie or a dad that's a doer right yeah dude you got

01:03:21.120 to figure it out bro look you need you need to work on your you need to work on yourself for a minute

01:03:26.800 get yourself get your discipline developed get your grit developed get your get your get yourself

01:03:33.680 in the best possible high level condition that you can and then make a decision because then you know

01:03:40.480 what you're working with and what you're capable of a lot of times when people are in this under

01:03:45.600 because discipline is a perishable skill we all go through times in our lives where we have high

01:03:49.360 discipline low discipline highly that's why people who say well why do you got to do 75 hard more than

01:03:53.440 once i don't know why you got to take a shower more than once same thing bro okay so we have to

01:03:58.400 look at discipline as a as a thing that goes up and down and if we make decisions when we're fat

01:04:03.440 and unhealthy and not disciplined of course we're not going to believe in ourselves because our product

01:04:08.240 sucks but when we take our seriously we believe in ourselves we are confident we're understanding

01:04:15.200 what it is that we can do we believe in ourselves we have grit and fortitude we've just pushed 0.99

01:04:20.480 through some of the hardest shit make a decision then because that's the person you're supposed

01:04:26.080 to be and that decision will lead you to your highest potential outcome we are not here to 0.99

01:04:32.000 fuck around man you i'm gonna tell you this i believe that if you stay where you are you're 0.99

01:04:39.680 gonna regret it i'm just telling you that as your fucking big bro all right yeah so do do what i'm 1.00

01:04:47.360 telling bro that's true yeah go do go do the thing get yourself in that highest mental place 0.99

01:04:54.240 force yourself through the program bro do not fucking quit make it happen if you got to be out 1.00

01:05:00.080 there three in a fucking morning doing your shit do it then make the decision because you're going to 1.00

01:05:06.480 know who you are you're going to know what you're capable of you're going to be very honest with 1.00

01:05:10.400 yourself about what you're capable of and the decision that you make will be the right one

01:05:14.160 hey bro that's november 4th nick november 4th we'll check back in with you yeah you better call

01:05:55.680 all right he's in a good spot yeah he is like he at least he's asking himself the question early

01:06:02.080 enough you know most people don't ask till they're too old most people don't even realize because they 0.86

01:06:06.880 spend so much time fucking planning thursday friday saturday booze fest or party fest or vacation or time 0.98

01:06:12.240 off that they don't ever stop to think like fuck dude what road am i going down i give nick a lot of 0.99

01:06:16.800 credit because it sounds like he's going to be very honest with himself about what he wants and that's 0.98

01:06:20.560 something that we lack in today's current social media environment they see guys like me who are

01:06:25.680 out there driving nice cars living an awesome life uh you know and i'm actually one of the few people

01:06:30.160 who actually built something real doing it um but they think that like i got to have that because

01:06:35.840 everybody on the internet's in this weird competition dude most of those people are lying yeah the internet

01:06:41.360 ain't the competition no most of those people are lying the competition is who do we want to become

01:06:45.440 and what's going to make us fulfilled and how are we going to be happy and what are we what kind of

01:06:49.680 life do we want to live along the way i love the life that i've lived along the way it was very 0.93

01:06:53.840 difficult it's very hard but i like challenges i'm wired for fucking fights i'm a competitor okay now 0.92

01:06:59.840 i'm surrounded by all these other people who are also hungry who are also competitors i love my life 0.96

01:07:05.120 that i've created i wouldn't trade it for fucking anything but i think a lot of people in my life would 0.98

01:07:09.760 fucking hate it just like i would hate being like them and that's not me saying they're a loser like a 0.99

01:07:15.440 lot of guys get on there like oh you're a fucking loser oh you're telling me that this guy's a 1.00

01:07:19.440 loser because he wants to be a good dad and he wants to provide but you know like like dude these 1.00

01:07:24.800 things listen it's about what the fuck you want and it's about the example that you set and that 1.00

01:07:30.960 doesn't mean you have to make a billion dollars it does mean you have to be financially successful 0.96

01:07:35.200 at some level but it doesn't mean you have to go be an entrepreneur or you got to do that dude

01:07:42.080 what do you really fucking want because there's going to come a day where you're going to have to

01:07:47.360 reckon with that and if you're not on track with that you're going to feel bad it's going to be 0.98

01:07:52.000 real bad so i just don't like how all these dudes on the internet make it seem like this oh you're 0.98

01:07:58.720 going to get all this freedom and what the fuck are you talking about that's how i know you're lying 0.99

01:08:03.200 that's how i know you didn't do it so you know and they don't say the shit you know why they don't 1.00

01:08:08.080 say it like that because they can't sell it how are you going to sell something like this hey 1.00

01:08:11.520 motherfucker this is the hardest shit ever it's going to almost kill you a hundred times it's 1.00

01:08:15.840 going to cause you to want to blow your brains out you're going to lose family you're going to 1.00

01:08:19.520 lose friends you're going to be fucking laughed at you're going to get made fun of you're going to 1.00

01:08:23.280 be called a uh an idiot you're going to be mocked you're like you got to solve your problems and 1.00

01:08:28.240 everybody else's problems and dude it's just relentless and um not everybody's built for that 0.99

01:08:34.240 yeah 997 sign up it's not yeah it's just not it's just not for everybody man yeah man that's real

01:08:41.520 man that's real it doesn't mean there's something wrong with them though like what the one thing i 1.00

01:08:45.840 can't stand is these motherfuckers are like oh that fucking guy you're a fucking loser 1.00

01:08:51.040 how how how can you call someone a loser who's doing okay who has a family who loves their kids 1.00

01:08:56.880 who's taking care of shit who's handling who's setting a good example they're taking care there's 0.96

01:09:01.200 lots of ways to win bro you don't have to be an entrepreneur and that's one of the problems i 1.00

01:09:05.760 have with the fucking internet especially with all these liars that lie about being an entrepreneur 0.97

01:09:10.880 okay like yeah i think the takeaway from what i'm getting at what i'm what i'm getting is 0.99

01:09:16.960 just know what you want and be honest about what if you want if that's all you want that's cool if

01:09:22.800 that's really what you want correct and a lot of people here's what they do and this is what you

01:09:26.880 also want to stay away from they'll start off in life with these huge goals i want to be this i

01:09:33.120 want to create this i want to do this thing and then they start trying to do it and it's really

01:09:37.520 fucking hard and then they get to a point where like they're it's just like too much and they quit 0.79

01:09:43.040 and what happens is they start telling themselves this other story to justify their quitting that 0.98

01:09:47.760 they tell everybody else they say well you know what i i changed and i don't really like material

01:09:52.800 things and i don't like business and it's not all about money and it never was so why are you saying

01:09:59.360 it now well you're saying it now because you're pretending like you always intended to have this

01:10:03.680 life you're living now when in reality you defaulted and failed on what you really wanted and that's the

01:10:08.160 most dangerous thing that people do because then they spend their entire lives being secretly bitter

01:10:13.120 and happy because they were dishonest with themselves when in reality had they just kept going they would

01:10:18.640 have been where they wanted to go yeah you know hell yeah man but dude that's a mid-week pick me

01:10:23.600 up dog yep yep now i gotta go do another call so we gotta go yeah man well guys andy that's all i got
