00:03:15.300 there has to be something in it from them you know i'm saying like what's the buy-in what to see
00:03:19.380 you in a suit yeah no to see me in that suit though oh you know that that special one oh yeah
00:03:24.080 no not the birthday one i don't know man it's later you know what i'm saying we gotta have
00:03:27.540 something we gotta have something dude people been asking for it but like hey what are you
00:03:31.260 drinking over there dude dude this is this is the best one you know what i'm not gonna lie it's
00:03:37.740 it's actually pretty damn good bro it brings me back to like fucking like like when i was a
00:03:44.220 little kid i used to love hawaiian punch yeah me too and this is carbonated hawaiian like i don't
00:03:49.160 know if i can legally say that yeah i i don't know what it's called it's maybe it's called a punch
00:03:53.740 dude yeah when are these rolling out right after the first of the year they'll be on the shelves
00:03:57.900 so we've got that and the grape's gotta watch out bro and the the uh silver lightning coming out
00:04:02.740 yeah grape's gonna have my call it white lightning you know people didn't like that one but uh yeah
00:04:09.460 we got those coming out i actually haven't tried the silver lightning but i did try the
00:04:13.580 the uh punch flavor holy shit man paradise punch is fucking it's really good it's a punch of paradise
00:04:19.440 it sure is a little punch you right in the mouth that's right a little paradise
00:04:23.920 anyway yeah ma'am um it is good dude it is fucking i we you know a couple guys on the team
00:04:30.980 uh out at ufc they've been trying it and uh i've been getting texts about it dude and they're like
00:04:36.740 damn yeah this is gonna like i'm telling you grapes got grapes gonna be in second place
00:04:40.900 there's no doubt about that yeah yeah because it is in first place that's your swirl talking
00:04:45.320 oh yeah man well yeah man you good feeling good yeah i'm good man let's make some people better
00:04:54.420 all right let's do it guys uh i got three good ones let's dive into these uh guys any question
00:05:00.520 number one uh hey andy uh andy i'm 32 i've got a decent job a family that depends on me and on paper
00:05:10.180 i should be grateful uh but i feel behind and frustrated all the time i'm disciplined for a
00:05:17.840 few weeks then i fall off and hate myself for it how do you stop the cycle of starting strong
00:05:23.660 and then disappearing on yourself oh man you know that's something i think most people struggle with
00:05:31.400 that's actually one of the biggest reasons that we started developing the operator standard which
00:05:35.560 it doesn't really do anybody any good right now because it's closed uh for quite some time um it's
00:05:41.400 going to be invite only when we open it back up but um that won't be for a while but that that system
00:05:47.900 actually does what we're talking about here but the reality is it comes down to awareness okay we all
00:05:54.340 struggle with this we all know what that's like we've all been disciplined at certain points
00:05:58.000 we've all been undisciplined and those ebbs and flows are consistent amongst everybody across
00:06:04.340 you know whoever is trying to practice discipline and that's why uh discipline is hard that that's why
00:06:12.280 it is it is something that most people struggle with and the biggest thing that you have to really
00:06:18.120 understand is to become aware when you start to slip okay like right when you start to slip you have to
00:06:25.940 be able to identify it and when we think about like 75 hard and live hard that is one of the skills that
00:06:31.300 it tunes up anybody who's been doing it or done it or live that lifestyle you know exactly what i'm
00:06:37.200 talking about okay when you first start off you know it's a little bit of work uh it gets a little
00:06:43.100 bit harder it's a little bit harder then it starts to feel easy once you catch momentum and um then at
00:06:49.580 a certain point in the program it gets hard again because it becomes very monotonous and this is a
00:06:54.320 reflection of how life sort of hits us with these little i guess sneak ups of us being lazy and how
00:07:03.080 it starts is that when things are going well they're going well and then they tend to get harder again
00:07:09.260 and we start to slip all right and so what you have to do is to start becoming aware not only when you
00:07:17.480 start to slip but what causes you to slip okay like what is it where are you at who you're with yeah
00:07:23.260 yeah what is it you're struggling with what starts it is it is it food is it a night out with the
00:07:28.740 homies is it uh you miss a couple workouts all of those things even though it might seem like nothing
00:07:36.920 that's where the slip starts and so this idea that you can just become disciplined and you're going to
00:07:45.320 stay disciplined your entire life is not real for most people discipline is a perishable skill
00:07:50.860 and it's totally normal to go in and out and that's why we have to be aware that it's a uh that
00:07:56.480 it's a perishable skill so that we can recognize when it starts to happen and keep the slide from
00:08:02.960 going any further immediately all right and when we think about like what people mostly think about
00:08:11.360 discipline most people think discipline is something that they're born with or something
00:08:15.200 that they can create but then will stick and neither one of those things is true okay discipline comes
00:08:21.920 from the repetitive action of holding a standard that is high and that retrains your brain to
00:08:29.120 acknowledge when things are hard for you to push through them anyway and that that's just not a natural
00:08:38.740 thing for people to be aware of based upon you know how we're taught about discipline and what most people
00:08:43.580 think it is like i said you know people think that you know you're either born with it or you're not
00:08:47.420 i thought that for a long time or that once you have it it stays and those things are not true you have
00:08:54.400 to practice it every single day and one of the things that you can do to reframe this slip from
00:09:01.680 happening is that you could start to understand the reality of how discipline is built okay everything
00:09:08.660 matters every little thing when you see something that needs to be addressed or something that's
00:09:15.280 inconvenient or something that you know uh you know needs to be done and then you walk past it
00:09:22.660 without addressing it you're taking away you're making a withdrawal from your discipline skill set
00:09:28.360 every single time that could be something simple that could be seeing a shopping cart in the parking
00:09:33.240 lot rolling around and you recognize it as fuck that's not good but you know that's not my shit
00:09:38.900 i don't need to handle that right that takes away from your own discipline as silly as that sounds
00:09:42.660 you know for a lot of you guys out there it could be something that is as simple as not replacing the
00:09:48.240 toilet paper whenever the toilet paper rolls empty okay these are like little bitty things that nobody
00:09:53.860 thinks about when they think about discipline and when you don't really understand the dynamic of it being
00:10:00.560 an account that you put deposits in or take withdrawals out of it becomes where people can't really
00:10:07.700 recognize where these slides start to start to happen so like when you truly understand what
00:10:13.260 discipline is all about when you truly understand that the smallest things can cause you to slide back
00:10:20.200 to who you were before you start to value that momentum and that discipline a little bit differently
00:10:26.980 and you start to recognize when things need to be addressed that when you don't handle them you're
00:10:32.580 walking away and you're like fuck that just cost me right so um i think a lot of it is just awareness
00:10:39.540 about how it works how you put deposits in how you make withdrawals out and just like a bank account
00:10:47.240 dude you're going to want to deposit way more than you withdraw otherwise you're going to end up with a
00:10:51.260 negative balance which is what puts people in this place of frustration doubt misery you know looking
00:10:57.460 in the mirror hating their life feeling frustrated about where they're at when you just start to really
00:11:03.840 understand it it really brings a new perspective to the little things that help keep this discipline
00:11:12.360 tuned up high right people a lot of times they think you know i'm going to be disciplined i'm going to go
00:11:16.180 out and run 100 miles that's not how that works dude it is little things compounded over time
00:11:21.980 that you know need to be done and doing them it's not just keeping promises to yourself which is what
00:11:28.040 everybody likes to say it's about identifying how it actually works and then operating within those rules
00:11:33.540 and most people just overlook it and that's why they find themselves sometimes at a very high place
00:11:40.320 and then a very low place uh but i could tell you as someone who you know has developed a very very
00:11:50.100 strong bank account with discipline before i really understood that i was in the same boat as this person
00:11:55.420 was i would get get good get bad get good get bad things would go well then they would go bad and i
00:12:00.820 kind of thought it was just like up to the universe like things are going well now things are going bad
00:12:05.840 now i've got momentum now oh i don't have momentum when you start to realize that you're in control of
00:12:11.600 all of that the game changes and and honestly uh this is why the book is such a good resource the book
00:12:17.040 on mental toughness because it really explains this in depth um to the to the other point that he made
00:12:24.340 about always feeling behind look dude ambitious people are going to always feel behind they're going
00:12:29.740 to always feel like they're struggling they're going to always feel like they're not doing enough
00:12:33.100 we as ambitious people don't have the luxury of being able to coast and be happy with ourselves
00:12:39.040 no matter how much money you've got no matter how good of shape you're in no matter what you're working
00:12:44.200 on or what impact you're making if you're an ambitious person you're going to always feel like
00:12:48.480 you're not doing enough but that's a hell of a lot better place to be than the someone who thinks
00:12:53.680 oh i'm doing everything i can really they're not doing shit okay so one person has unsatisfaction
00:13:00.540 with their life justifiably so because their life looks like a shit show and the other person
00:13:06.680 might have a much better existence but they understand i can do more i can be better i can
00:13:13.340 always improve and that creates this feeling of uncomfortableness even when you're winning
00:13:18.260 but the key thing to understand here is that that's a good thing people need we need people like
00:13:24.560 that we need people who are never satisfied we need people who are always driven we need people who
00:13:29.320 are never going to say oh well this is good enough because the reality is that good enough mentality
00:13:34.400 is what put this country in the shitty position it's in currently so if you're really serious about
00:13:39.620 changing yourself and you're really serious about impacting people and you're really serious about
00:13:43.460 fixing what's going on in the world you have to understand that you play an important role in that
00:13:47.680 and uh that's a burden that you have to carry and part of it is going to be always feeling like
00:13:53.280 there's more to do and uh that doesn't mean there's something wrong with you that means there's
00:13:56.840 something right with you yeah i think in this case though i mean it's fair to say that like i mean
00:14:00.400 if you're feeling like you're behind it's probably because you know you're not doing what you're
00:14:03.360 supposed to be doing correct well yeah i mean that's a red flag popping up in your head yeah
00:14:07.260 you're ignoring well no yeah for sure dude i mean that's that's part of it too you know um
00:14:15.000 when you're not doing enough for real yeah you're you're gonna fucking know it
00:14:19.660 yeah right yeah so like there's that too right like i assume that people that listen to this show
00:14:25.880 are ambitious people and that's why they listen uh but yeah i mean dude if your life's shitty and
00:14:30.860 you're fucking out of shape and your bank account sucks and you're not doing what you need you should
00:14:35.580 you're gonna feel like shit you're gonna feel anxious you're gonna feel uh like something's not
00:14:39.860 right you're gonna feel frustrated you're gonna feel you know like like dog shit man and that's the
00:14:46.200 important uh point that you need to recognize is that because of the way that you're wired and the way
00:14:51.320 that you think if you're not constantly progressing you're gonna always feel like shit
00:14:55.180 so maybe 10 times are you that's right are you gonna feel like shit because you're having to work
00:14:59.960 a little harder or are you gonna feel like shit because you're not doing anything right and the
00:15:04.940 the funny thing is is it's almost like a paradox and people who live the 75 hard and live hard
00:15:09.860 lifestyle know this when you're doing more work you feel better because at the end of the day you
00:15:14.480 could look yourself in the face and say bro i did everything i could do today and then you get to do it
00:15:18.480 again tomorrow and then when you wake up the next day tomorrow you're not like as anxious or as uh
00:15:24.700 frustrated because you can look back on even just one day and say okay well i've got some momentum
00:15:30.300 rolling even if the fruit's not there yet right and so what can happen is over the course of you know
00:15:36.500 30 40 days of you know pushing and winning days and making sure that you're doing what you should do
00:15:42.660 that momentum starts to catch and you start to feel really good because you know you're doing
00:15:47.180 everything you could be doing if you know that you're doing everything you could be doing there's
00:15:51.780 really nothing else you could have done a 24 hour period how can you feel frustrated right you can't
00:15:56.060 you're going to feel peaceful you're going to have low anxiety you're going to have high confidence
00:16:00.220 and these are things that um you know all the gurus out there they try to preach this balance shit
00:16:06.880 and you know oh you deserve some time bro the reason you feel like shit is because you you think you
00:16:12.760 deserve time off you've been taking time off your whole motherfucking life which is why your
00:16:16.640 fucking life looks like a dumpster fire okay so when you hear all these people who are saying nice
00:16:21.920 platitudes on the fucking internet realize that they're doing that for likes shares comments from
00:16:29.080 victim-minded people who want an excuse for why they don't have to get up and do what the fuck they're
00:16:34.500 supposed to do they're enabling low performance they're enabling lack of confidence they're enabling
00:16:41.480 lack of discipline and these people who that appeals to all they're doing is looking for an excuse to
00:16:48.600 not do it and unfortunately we live in a culture that is full of fucking victim mentality
00:16:53.420 and that is most people's default right now and that's why the culture has to change so you know when
00:17:02.380 you see all this stuff online you got to understand this stuff's not for you dude this is for people
00:17:08.040 that are still living in the victim mentality and have no intention of changing it at all but here's
00:17:13.380 the thing those people are going to continue to be miserable they're going to continue to be anxious
00:17:17.600 they're going to continue to feel like shit and no amount of affirmations or breaks or rest or mental
00:17:24.620 health days is going to fucking fix it and so it's no different than like a few years ago when everybody
00:17:30.320 was talking about body positivity and they're like oh I'm so fat and I love it but yet here we are
00:17:35.500 three years later and they they came out with those zempic and now they've lost you know 100 200 pounds
00:17:41.380 and they're you know and it's like oh I thought I thought you loved that that's right I thought that
00:17:46.780 was what that was about right so it's exposing the lie okay and I've been fat I know what the fuck it's
00:17:53.760 like and no matter how hard you try no matter you know what you tell yourself you know it's bullshit
00:18:00.160 which even makes it makes you feel worse because you know you're lying to yourself to justify your
00:18:07.620 lack of action that you know you should do so it's not even a it doesn't serve people in any way and
00:18:14.520 we unfortunately we live in this world where you know we have predatory therapy I'm not saying all
00:18:19.700 therapy is bad but like not everybody needs fucking therapy bro and we have a bunch of predatory
00:18:24.740 therapists who convince people they're broken who who who you know play to the victim mentality
00:18:30.920 collect money off of it and I have to ask you this what interests do they have in solving your
00:18:37.520 problems if you're going to pay them more money while you're still broken you got to use your
00:18:41.740 fucking brain bro you're being played you're not being told the truth you're being told what you want
00:18:47.120 to hear in the moment which makes you feel good for five fucking seconds until you go home and have
00:18:52.780 to look yourself in the eye and you know it's still fucked up okay so until you address this for
00:18:57.320 real it doesn't matter what book you read it doesn't matter what mastermind you go to it doesn't matter
00:19:02.260 what therapy you use or what retreat you go to like it doesn't fucking matter bro you know what the
00:19:08.140 fucking problem is and until you address it you're gonna feel like shit no matter what anybody else
00:19:13.060 says to you yeah so I want to hit because you know you brought up this awareness piece which I
00:19:18.260 think ties into this like really importantly here you know you your whole mindset is just win the
00:19:25.500 day yeah right and you know especially in the season that's not my mindset that's reality that's how
00:19:31.220 it works that's how it works it's not yes I'm the first motherfucker that's been talking about this
00:19:36.900 for the last 20 years okay but that's the rules of the game it's not what a week or a month or a year
00:19:45.600 or five years it's fucking today bro and if you win today you're winning the game when you win the
00:19:52.280 next day that's the game won again and then you stack those wins over the course of time which
00:19:57.320 creates the external outcome that you're looking for but the internal outcome materializes way before
00:20:03.380 that so you know it's a very important mindset though yeah and it's listen dude this is how you win
00:20:09.580 and there isn't a fucking other way to win it's this way if you're not winning your fucking days over
00:20:14.540 the course of time how can you win you can't yeah so that's real it's not my theory it's just how it
00:20:20.300 fucking works it's law dude but but on on that though like you know I've I've been on a a transformation
00:20:26.360 journey if you will right and because of the season we're in we got Christmas coming up I know a lot of
00:20:31.880 people getting ready for those New Year's resolutions and shit right speak to the person who who's hearing
00:20:37.760 this right now I'm like damn okay yes all right I gotta get to it about to get to it okay cool winning
00:20:42.400 my days I know for me for sure there were there were days dude where like I just had to win the
00:20:47.560 fucking hour yeah you know I'm saying like yeah like let's let's tie awareness into this because
00:20:52.180 sometimes it's gonna be like that yeah well that's where we talk about like production pivots yeah okay
00:20:57.340 a production pivot is when your bitch voice the voice that talks you out of all the shit you know
00:21:04.680 you're supposed to do for what they want to do right now yeah you have to become aware of that and
00:21:11.160 when you start to become aware of that voice telling you these things what you do and how you beat it
00:21:19.080 is that whatever the fuck it's telling you to do you know you go you I just traveled for three days and
00:21:25.800 I'm a little tired I don't feel like doing my workout when you hear that shit you go work out right
00:21:30.480 then immediately it doesn't matter if it's fucking 10 o'clock at night because every time you act in
00:21:36.780 opposition of that voice you are shrinking its power over you every single time that's what we're
00:21:44.160 talking about bro when you walk past a shopping cart and you fucking say oh well that's an asshole
00:21:50.440 right right no you're the asshole right because you fucking left it there okay so when you start to
00:21:57.180 realize that this is about every single conversation that happens in your brain and you become aware of
00:22:05.860 that then it's very easy to squash it with direct action and opposition immediately all right so yeah
00:22:13.560 sometimes it is going to be you're fighting for the hour and if you're going to win days bro
00:22:17.620 sometimes you're going to have to fucking fight sometimes it's going to be really fucking hard
00:22:22.440 sometimes you're going to feel like the exact opposite of what needs to be done and you got
00:22:27.840 to do it anyway otherwise it's going to cost you way more than the temporary discomfort that it's
00:22:33.380 going to cost you like dude you guys all know what this is like you know you you have a conversation
00:22:37.980 that you've been putting off but then you have it and you feel better okay you don't want to work
00:22:42.320 out it's the last thing you want to do but then you go do it and you're like fuck dude I had I'm glad I
00:22:47.520 did that everybody knows this but they don't label it in their mind or become aware of it right
00:22:52.320 they they never really dig in and say okay what's how do I get past this voice in my head that
00:23:00.680 sounds like a lazy fat disgusting piece of fucking shit that doesn't do anything and always telling me
00:23:08.140 to take it easy how do I get past that you do the fucking opposite bro okay like if you have a leader
00:23:14.240 and your leader is always saying do this do this do this and you start doing the opposite okay you're
00:23:19.800 telling the leader that motherfucker ain't gonna listen to me it's no different with your fucking
00:23:24.320 your voice in your head okay and after a while you know in the job market you're gonna get fired
00:23:29.440 but but but the reality is is in your brain after a while your bitch voice learns this and says
00:23:36.560 the motherfucker's not gonna listen to me so I'm not gonna say anything let me just keep my
00:23:40.300 ass quiet exactly I love it dude I love it man um speaking of ambitious people let's get to
00:23:45.860 question number two um Andy I love you dude oh thank you seriously that's what he says Andy I've been
00:23:54.860 head down working for the last five years grinding uh I keep chasing the next goal thinking I finally
00:24:02.820 feel proud or content but every time I hit it I move the finish line and I feel empty again
00:24:08.280 is that just how driven people are wired or am I missing something bigger here in life
00:24:13.140 well look if you get to a point where you're not acknowledging the progress that you've made at
00:24:20.800 all you are always going to feel that way if you get to the point where you hang on to shit that
00:24:25.760 you've done and you over celebrate and you think it's a big deal you're gonna lose okay so you have
00:24:31.860 to find a middle ground of being able to acknowledge and be grateful for what you've accomplished and what
00:24:38.020 you've done and where you're at but also understand that there's a lot more to do and neither one of
00:24:44.560 those extremes is good for you okay like if you can never ever recognize that you've done anything
00:24:51.340 you're gonna feel like you're spinning your wheels even if your whole world is materialized around you
00:24:56.780 this has happened to me a number of times where like everybody from the outside looks and they're
00:25:01.320 so fuck dude it's amazing everything you've done and I'm like bro I haven't fucking done shit
00:25:05.200 okay but that's because my vision is so big in my head and if I catch myself not being grateful for
00:25:12.500 it then I really feel like shit right so when you start to feel uh you know you know you're doing
00:25:19.300 everything you're producing results you're producing the outcome you're you're meeting your goals you're
00:25:24.860 exceeding your goals you're resetting the bar if you don't stop and say okay we're doing something
00:25:30.440 here I'm grateful for that you're gonna feel like shit okay but most people aren't that way most people
00:25:36.540 go the other way most people live in the land of what the fuck they used to be okay and let me tell
00:25:41.260 you something bro nobody gives a fuck what you used to be they don't care they don't care that you won
00:25:46.060 the mvp in high school they don't care that you went out with the prom queen they don't care that you
00:25:51.400 got a great job right out of college and 10 years later you're still working at the same shit
00:25:56.040 they don't care the world only cares about what the fuck you are doing now that is it that is it
00:26:03.280 they don't care about what you're gonna do and they don't care about what you did they care what
00:26:07.060 you're doing now and so that is something that we can take from the world and sort of apply to
00:26:13.060 ourselves as truth because dude it is true you shouldn't be hanging on to these old wins yeah you
00:26:18.140 could acknowledge them and you know when you're having a beer with your buddies be like hey man remember
00:26:21.780 that time i ran for 200 yards you know what i'm saying you could talk about it but you're not
00:26:25.900 walking around in your fucking football outfit talking about 1987 when you were a stud yeah my
00:26:30.900 home run ball is still falling yeah you're you're not a stud anymore you're a has-been okay it's like
00:26:37.680 that dude that that that remember that guy that emailed in a while back and he was like i'm 5 7 and
00:26:44.320 i'm 38 and i'm 350 pounds and i can still run with all the young guys no you can't i'm like dude
00:26:49.680 what the fuck myth are you living in no you can't yeah like and and that's where most people live
00:26:55.320 so most people live there they live in the past they don't live in the future yeah so but if you
00:27:00.440 other people like oh i'm doing i'm gonna do all of this shit i'm gonna do all this but never
00:27:03.560 they're not doing anything well yeah of course but the point is is like if you're the other kind of
00:27:07.820 person who says all this shit they're gonna do and then you've also backed it up with really good
00:27:13.180 results to this point but you don't acknowledge what you've done you're gonna feel really bad too
00:27:17.800 the only difference is you're gonna have a bunch of you're probably gonna have a lot of money and
00:27:21.520 you're probably gonna have a really cool life but what what use is a really cool life if you can't
00:27:26.120 be grateful for what the fuck you did you know so there's a balance there you don't want to
00:27:30.120 over celebrate but you also don't want to i guess minimize what it is that you've been able to do you've
00:27:36.820 got to find a good place of gratitude with a big purpose and you have to act with discipline which
00:27:41.360 by the way we talk about all this time is the equation of being an actual happy human on a day-by-day
00:27:45.820 basis right right people think that happiness is some destination place they're going to get to
00:27:50.820 when in reality it's a way that you feel uh and that you try to replicate over and over and over
00:27:55.600 again in your life there is no fucking happy land bro you know oh when you get here you're going to
00:27:59.880 be happy or when you get there you're going to be happy or you get over here you're going to be happy
00:28:03.000 no did you do your shit today were you grateful for today did you exercise discipline today did you work
00:28:10.420 towards your purpose today and if you did all of those things you're you're going to feel good
00:28:14.480 you're going to be happy and that happiness will come and then it will go and then tomorrow when
00:28:19.660 the new game starts you get to start over again okay and that's how happiness actually works uh but
00:28:26.860 you know nobody teaches that because when you could tell someone hey eventually this eventually that
00:28:34.180 we're going to get you to here just pay me some more money yeah you know like happiness is coming
00:28:38.640 right like bro the reality is is most of these motherfuckers are just they're they're fucking cult
00:28:44.320 leaders okay and it's funny because people always say things to me they're like oh you're over there
00:28:49.040 running a cult actually no because cults centralize power around the leader meaning if you have one
00:28:55.460 of these predatory therapists the predatory therapist will convince you that they're the only ones
00:28:59.500 with the solution and then you got to pay them money to get the fucking thing the opposite of that
00:29:05.540 is decentralizing power it's teaching everybody to be self-sufficient it's giving them their own
00:29:11.920 leadership skills it's pushing them to stand up for themselves and lead their families and their
00:29:16.000 friends that's what the fuck i do okay most of these motherfuckers out here in the world it's all about
00:29:21.900 money they don't intend to fix anything they don't intend to fucking do anything positive except
00:29:26.840 convince people that they need them to feel better and it's just not true yeah and i want to i want to
00:29:31.220 zoom in on these uh on on on a piece of this question specifically on moving the goal post
00:29:37.760 right you know he says he keeps chasing next goal once he gets there he already moves the next finish
00:29:43.120 line yeah is that is is that the right way to do it if you want to win okay let's talk about it if you
00:29:49.260 want to win okay we just talk about two groups of people right okay one group of people the people
00:29:54.700 who don't do shit they'll set a goal they won't ever even hit the goal they'll get 60 of the goal and
00:30:00.320 then they'll pretend they hit the goal or they'll see the goal and it's within it's within range and
00:30:06.300 they'll stop because now it's within range they don't follow through winners do a completely
00:30:13.060 different version of that they get to 80 they realize they're going to hit the goal and then
00:30:18.600 they set the bar further out and then they fucking rush through the goal with ever acknowledging that
00:30:23.220 without ever acknowledging that they passed it got it okay so you know you certainly want to be in
00:30:29.420 that group more than you would want to be in the other group all right and that's normal for
00:30:34.260 ambitious people every motherfucking winner i've ever met every champion every billionaire every
00:30:39.180 person i've ever known that's created massive amounts of success in their life they they operate
00:30:44.960 the way i'm talking about and the way this man's talking about you get they get to 80 90 of the goal
00:30:51.100 they say okay i'm gonna fucking hit this i'm gonna keep moving to go to this and that's the way
00:30:55.620 champions think dude every champion that's ever existed in the history of humanity operates on
00:31:01.580 the idea of resetting the bar over and over and over and over again and that's how you end up with
00:31:07.300 these exceptional individuals because every time they reset the bar what the bar becomes is actually
00:31:12.820 their new minimum all right so that's their operating homeostasis that is that is where they live
00:31:20.760 okay and if you're the person who gets 60 to your goal and never hit it you're gonna end up back
00:31:26.860 where you were and that's where you live all right so it's just a matter of what sort of discomfort
00:31:31.680 would you like to deal with would you like to deal with the discomfort of never achieving anything
00:31:35.800 being totally unhealthy being broke being dumb being a fucking human drain on society and then feeling
00:31:42.260 mad about it and it being difficult you not being able to go to dinners you not be able to drive the
00:31:46.380 car you want or buy the house you want or take care of the family the way you want
00:31:48.920 that's that's uncomfortable or you could deal with the uncomfortableness of i'm going to reset the
00:31:57.240 bar over and over and over again and i'm gonna win uh and you know i'm gonna live that way that's
00:32:05.360 that's the two options dude and the second option while it may feel more difficult it's actually far less
00:32:12.680 difficult than living like the other guy so there's gonna be uncomfortable uh feelings on either way
00:32:20.200 it's just choosing which way that you want it to be and if you're a champion if you're if you're gonna
00:32:25.680 be a great creator builder uh becomer of greatness you're how he's operating is the way that people do
00:32:33.580 it okay and yes there's some emptiness that comes with that but only when you're not able to acknowledge
00:32:39.300 how far you've come and so what we're talking about for this gentleman is hey dude you just gotta tweak
00:32:43.980 your gratitude up a little bit that's the bottom line like if you want to answer this question you
00:32:48.140 want to feel better tweak your gratitude up a little bit work that into your daily routine at the end of
00:32:52.920 your day be grateful at the beginning of your day be grateful you know when you fucking step out of
00:32:57.560 bed bro it shouldn't be like oh man another day i get my ass kicked it should be i'm the baddest
00:33:03.000 motherfucker alive bro and whatever comes my way i'm gonna fucking handle it that's the first thought
00:33:07.860 that should come out of your head and by the way the first day you do it you're going to not even
00:33:11.940 believe it yourself but after a month or after two months of doing that every day you're going to be
00:33:16.240 surprised at how much fun you're having kicking the shit out of everything and then you know bring that
00:33:21.280 back to what we talked about on the 24 hour scale a lot of people never feel never feel like they did
00:33:27.620 anything because they they don't they don't define the outcome okay they define the outcome like we said
00:33:34.260 this magical place i'm going to eventually get to that you know i'm going to do this and this and
00:33:39.200 this and i get here i'm gonna get this i'm gonna get that i'm gonna be there there is no there there's
00:33:43.760 only now okay so if you define the win as did you win the 24 hours you can win every single day
00:33:51.720 and i don't mean that from i won my day i won my day i want i mean from a feeling of fucking being
00:33:56.460 a winner you're gonna feel like a fucking winner okay and this is why i mean this is a not it's
00:34:04.940 it's a piece of what the operator standard is doing for people but um yeah you have to define the outcome
00:34:11.220 that you're looking for the big picture outcome you have to break it down into critical tasks that
00:34:17.460 you would execute on a daily basis and you have to define the wins on a 24 hour basis because those
00:34:21.620 are only wins the fucking matter bro like and the reason most people can't do that 24 hours is
00:34:27.520 because they do this shit in a year from now i'm going to be here and then they're like okay a week
00:34:34.120 goes by right and they're like okay well i still got time and then another week goes by like oh i got
00:34:39.100 time i'll hit it extra hard and then 40 weeks go by and they're like fuck i'm gonna i'm just gonna
00:34:44.780 starve myself right and it becomes this fucking negotiation and you're gonna feel like shit the entire
00:34:51.500 time because you know no matter what you say no matter how much you try to justify no matter what
00:34:56.380 story you tell you know you're full of shit and how do you feel about your fucking people that you
00:35:01.260 know that are full of shit with everything that they say to you you we all have one we all have
00:35:05.800 somebody we know who comes and tells us all the time about all the shit they're gonna do and they
00:35:10.660 never do it how do you feel about that person you're like dude that guy's a bullshitter he ain't doing
00:35:15.340 none of that shit your brain knows that you know that you know when you're full of shit
00:35:20.560 and if you try it doesn't matter how you pretend on an external basis you know which is why you
00:35:26.640 can't justify your way out of out of it and you're gonna feel like shit this is why like i said uh lizzo
00:35:32.440 who you know was 5 000 pounds and who's now you know down to a respectable weight yeah now she's happy
00:35:39.080 about it okay good for her i'm proud of her it's a great thing but what i don't like is how she tried
00:35:43.940 to convince the whole motherfucking world that you know it's cool being fat it ain't cool being fat
00:35:48.440 okay your life's not going to be as good you're not going to make as much money you're going to be
00:35:53.400 unhealthy you're letting your family down you're like there's there's all these other things that
00:35:57.360 come with it that people never consider and by the way did we not all know that was bullshit
00:36:04.260 right that's right like dude did anybody ever really believe that someone is oh they're so happy with
00:36:11.680 their body i'm not saying that you got to be perfect i'm not saying that you got to have a
00:36:16.440 six-pack i'm not saying that you got to be fucking ripped that's not what i'm saying what i'm saying
00:36:21.140 is where the pride comes from where the win comes from is knowing that you've done everything that
00:36:25.640 you can do and the result is what it is some people are going to have better genetics some people are
00:36:30.240 going to have better connections some people are going to have a special knowledge some people are
00:36:34.080 going to have a special skill but most people can find all people can find massive levels of
00:36:41.860 improvement in their lives so we're not talking about perfection here we're talking about what
00:36:46.160 you know to be true in your brain and if you're doing everything you can it's literally impossible
00:36:50.960 to fucking feel anxious about it you know you can't feel it dude every single motherfucker listens i
00:36:56.520 challenge you dude do everything you're supposed to do today you're supposed to work out work out
00:37:02.920 you're supposed to do cardio do cardio you're supposed to eat healthy eat healthy you're supposed to drink
00:37:06.360 gallon of water drink a gallon of water you're supposed to have this conversation do that
00:37:09.380 at the end of the day if you could tell me that you still feel anxiety and doubt and feel like shit
00:37:14.840 you're you're lying yeah because it's impossible you can't feel bad when you know you're doing
00:37:21.160 everything you're supposed to be doing it's impossible yeah that's real bro i love it man guys
00:37:26.160 and we got one more question for you this is uh our third and final question guys any question number
00:37:31.280 three andy i started a business last year while working full-time i'm doing everything myself
00:37:37.500 working nights and weekends but the money still isn't there yet at what point do you know if
00:37:42.980 you're being patient or if you're just lying to yourself and you should pivot a quick well this
00:37:48.280 goes back to the question we just answered you've got to be very honest about the progress that you're
00:37:52.120 making are you making some progress are things moving forward maybe you're not making the money
00:37:58.100 that you need to make maybe you haven't made a single dollar yet but are you having wins toward the
00:38:04.460 outcome and it's it's awareness the theme of this show is fucking awareness okay um you have to
00:38:11.620 understand and tell yourself the truth okay and and dude like this is real shit because your business
00:38:18.200 plan might be fucking terrible all right there's business plans that just ain't gonna work they're
00:38:23.160 not gonna fucking work they don't have enough margin they there could be a gazillion reasons there's
00:38:28.940 no interest just because you start a business doesn't mean the market's going to reward it
00:38:33.260 so you have to be able to be very honest with yourself which hurts right like nobody wants to
00:38:40.400 like be nobody wants to have an idea admit to themselves that it sucks and say okay i got to
00:38:45.160 change this up but it's necessary for building something that actually produces results and so
00:38:50.320 in this situation you know this is this is this is i'll tell my story on this okay like look the
00:38:59.720 first day i was ever in business i sold seven dollars okay the next day i'm not laughing at
00:39:05.180 that i'm sorry no it's it is what it is yeah i like it's i can think how pump you would be though
00:39:10.320 and it's like fuck seven bucks okay well the next day i didn't sell anything fuck okay you what do you
00:39:15.460 think i was thinking fuck right yeah okay it took us eight months to have a day that we'd sold two
00:39:20.180 hundred dollars on all right if you think that i was terrified and doubtful and scared and wondering
00:39:28.960 if i was making the right call you're damn fucking right okay every motherfucking day and i'm actually
00:39:33.660 really grateful for that period of time because what it did was it made me hyper aware of the details
00:39:39.640 and the indicators and to look at things and and it almost made me crazy about it like to the point
00:39:44.840 where you know our own teams and the companies i'm involved in sort of fucking hate me a little
00:39:49.340 bit because i know for real dude because i will come in and say bro that ain't good enough it's just
00:39:55.340 not so what it did was is it trained me to be hyper vigilant about the details but also to be
00:40:01.460 unemotional about the details okay it either is or it isn't it's either fucking good or it's not
00:40:06.100 all right i don't give a fuck if it was my idea or your idea or sal's idea or fucking
00:40:12.420 dana white's idea like and and by the way amongst all effective operators they all operate this way
00:40:19.620 they don't look at it emotionally nobody says oh i got this great idea and i want it to work
00:40:23.800 they look at it and they say all right here's the feedback we got here's what's happening we haven't
00:40:30.460 had any wins here this isn't working we've got to change it but to the contrary of that a lot of
00:40:37.160 people will change things too often too quickly right so what ends up happening is and i've used
00:40:42.900 this example a number of times on the show they get it's like running a marathon okay you can never
00:40:48.840 finish a marathon and get the reward of running a marathon if you start over every fucking seven miles
00:40:54.360 okay or you get 15 and you say oh fuck i could have done it better let me start over right you have
00:41:00.620 to be very honest about how much progress you're making is what you're doing viable will the market
00:41:08.640 take it is there enough margin in it what's the volume of which i have to sell to make it worth
00:41:15.700 these are all real data analysis metrics that you have to look into to separate emotion from your
00:41:23.680 quote-unquote idea ideas don't mean fucking shit bro in fact if you want to watch how this works
00:41:29.540 there's a really good documentary on uh enron on netflix right now that explains this the reason
00:41:35.400 they fucking failed is because they thought that ideas won ideas don't win actions win okay reality
00:41:41.700 wins um sales win margin margins win market uh adoption wins these are real things that you have to pay
00:41:49.340 attention to so um when you're starting out it can be very difficult to do that because one you lack
00:41:56.960 experience you don't know okay two you're emotionally attached you want it to you you've already built
00:42:02.300 the story in your head of what life's going to be like when you get there right so you're very emotional
00:42:06.240 about it you already told your friends and families what you're doing yeah but dude listen you should
00:42:12.300 be emotional about where you're going but you shouldn't be emotional about how the fuck you get
00:42:16.180 there okay so yes i want this life yes i'm going to do whatever it takes to get there yes i'm going
00:42:23.180 to i'll i'll eat dog shit i'll sleep on the floor i'll fucking take no pay for 10 years okay whatever
00:42:29.360 the fuck it takes i'm going to get there but you have to be unemotional about the engine that's getting
00:42:33.760 you there because sometimes you got a bad engine sometimes it's not going to have the horsepower to
00:42:38.100 get you there okay so when we when we talk to someone you know who's in this situation you've got to
00:42:44.860 understand that aspect but you've also have to understand the aspect of time okay not yes not
00:42:50.200 everything will work but if the indicators are right and you're moving the right direction and
00:42:56.220 you're paying attention and you're having little wins and things are indicating okay people do like
00:43:00.580 this i'm not talking about your fucking friends and family either all your friends and family will
00:43:04.100 tell you bullshit can't listen to them yeah if you know them can't listen to them doesn't matter if
00:43:09.160 you knew them from 20 years ago or five minutes ago are there your dad or your mom cannot fucking
00:43:15.920 listen to them bro they will tell you bullshit okay and they will tell you bullshit both ways because
00:43:21.640 some of those people don't want you to win okay so they'll talk you out of something some of those
00:43:25.880 people want you to win and feel good right now but they're reinforcing something that's not
00:43:30.680 going to work okay so you have to fucking not listen to anyone but the actual consumer that you
00:43:37.560 are unaffiliated with that note that is like legitimately either buying the product or not
00:43:43.780 and when you're first starting out what ends up happening is people don't pay attention to those
00:43:50.360 metrics and because like this guy says i'm not making any money things aren't happening they'll
00:43:55.980 switch from thing to thing to thing to thing you know they'll go one year down the road and be like
00:44:00.840 this isn't fucking working they'll go two years down the road they'll be like this isn't working i'm
00:44:04.340 gonna try something else and then that doesn't work for two years and then they try something
00:44:08.020 else and then that doesn't work for two years and then they try something else and before they know
00:44:11.600 it they're 50 fucking years old and nothing's worked and they think it's them when in reality
00:44:16.380 they just don't let the fucking cake bake okay you have to understand that time is a real component
00:44:22.220 to success for very practical reasons one uh and the main one is that word of mouth takes time now
00:44:32.220 we live in a great society where word of mouth can spread instantly but it still takes time
00:44:36.220 we are very fortunate to live in this time because like when i grew my first business something with
00:44:41.840 superstores that shit didn't exist so i had to create a good experience have someone go out to
00:44:48.640 you know their friday night party or whatever right and hope that they have a conversation that
00:44:52.760 comes up and where i get a good story and they recommend somebody that's not the case anymore you can
00:44:58.420 get that instantly so we could speed this process up tremendously um but a year's doing it no fuck
00:45:05.340 it dude you can't do anything in a fucking year yeah bro you you you it takes longer to take a shit
00:45:09.720 okay like like dude a year is nothing it's nothing it's nothing but seven years of the same thing not
00:45:16.720 producing a result now we have that's not good either okay so you have to pay attention you have to
00:45:23.560 understand that things take time what if i had quit what if i quit three years in when i still hadn't
00:45:28.480 made a dollar fuck okay no i want to think i want you to really think about the impact not just my
00:45:34.580 personal success the impact what what would have not happened had i quit you see what i'm saying
00:45:42.920 yeah bro you definitely wouldn't be listening to the show right no you wouldn't be listening to the show
00:45:46.520 uh live hard 75 hard never been created ms ceo never created real af never created uh you know
00:45:53.000 companies that employ thousands of people never created i mean fuck dude none of this shit would
00:45:57.940 exist if i would have quit after three years when i wasn't getting fucking paid so and and fortunately
00:46:03.560 for me there was times where i wanted to quit that my situation didn't allow me to quit because i didn't
00:46:08.400 have any other options so that gets into another principle you know zero option mentality in the
00:46:13.060 beginning you may not have any other options you may not have something to fall back on that's a
00:46:17.000 fucking blessing all right but as you become more and more successful more and more comfortable
00:46:21.120 it becomes a game mentally that you have to trick yourself that you don't have another option
00:46:24.820 like to this day to this day and people laugh when i say this but i i fucking truly believe it
00:46:31.820 and what taught me this was my first 10 years where i had to fucking just grind it the fuck out
00:46:37.520 i will tell people i said you've heard me say this number of times i'm like bro i don't have a choice
00:46:43.340 like if this doesn't work i'll be digging ditches i don't have any other skills and you truly believe
00:46:47.780 that yeah well yes i do i feel like you do but i figure it out right like i've developed some other
00:46:53.600 skills now like i'm a pretty damn good public speaker you know i could fucking figure out
00:46:57.080 something else but the point is is that in my heart and in my mind this shit has to work okay and now it
00:47:03.460 has to work because i got all these people relying on me dude i got thousands of people fucking on my
00:47:08.100 back every motherfucking day if i don't fucking win bro they lose too so that is zero options right
00:47:13.640 so the zero option mentality evolves from you to the responsibilities that you carry and you have
00:47:21.460 to keep that pressure on yourself to make sure that you don't get too comfortable to fucking
00:47:24.880 flake the fuck out and lose your shit so yeah so yeah dude it's it's a it's a learning curve and
00:47:31.120 everybody who starts out they always start out you know feeling like this guy does uh but the reality
00:47:36.880 is dude i you know if you got a good plan you probably i'm assuming he has a good plan okay
00:47:43.800 he probably just hasn't had enough time for the cake to bake all right and by the way when i say
00:47:50.300 there's businesses that won't work most businesses can be made to work with just a few adjustments
00:47:54.460 all right but if like you come out with like a widget that nobody fucking needs or wants it doesn't
00:48:00.320 matter how much you market it doesn't matter you know like it just doesn't matter yeah so check the
00:48:04.860 metrics pay attention be aware check your time right and and make sure that you understand that
00:48:10.300 like bro you'll never get there by starting over every single time you know oh i ran that eight
00:48:14.360 miles but i ran it this way i'm gonna try running it this way no dude you just keep fucking going
00:48:19.240 adjust your adjust the way you're running right on the spot and keep moving you know um so those are
00:48:25.480 the pitfalls of both sides of that equation and again you know it's nuanced you want to know where the
00:48:31.480 you are you want to know if it's going to work be conscious of the time ask yourself will this work
00:48:37.380 in three more years or will this work in two more years and be honest all right can you see it working
00:48:43.440 do you know how to make it work will it work when it's ideal these are real things that you have to
00:48:48.020 think about and you know we get on the internet we look around and everybody's like oh yeah just
00:48:51.640 fucking you know you're gonna make your dreams come true selling fucking you know toothpicks for your
00:48:57.240 ear no that shit doesn't that's not something that somebody needs you know what i mean yeah but
00:49:03.060 motherfucker came up with the q-tip for the ear right and then that worked yeah okay what's the
00:49:07.980 difference between a q-tip and a fucking toothpick cotton not very much that's right all right i know
00:49:13.580 you try to make a joke there but but the point is yeah is that that's a slight evolution that makes
00:49:20.000 a massive difference you see what i mean absolutely dude i love it man i love it guys andy that was three
00:49:25.760 yep have a way to start a monday bro all right guys don't forget we got cti live tonight at
